    Product Description

It's a thrilling event when a lost work by a genius comes into print for the first time. Here Eugen von Boehm-Bawerk--Mises's teacher and a huge figure in the history of thought--explains and argues for the subjective theory of value, the theory of marginal utility, and their relationship to price. His legendary patience and attention to detail is on full display. This book was originally published in German in 1886 as an elaboration on Menger--driving home points concerning value as against every non-Austrian point of view. He completely demolishes not only the labor theory but also the value theory that rests on claims of aggregate economic value or social worth. In so doing, he clarifies points that Menger himself hadn't entirely spelled out. The English translation by Hans Sennholz has circulated among a handful of writers since 1973 but it was never available publicly nor published.

Every investor wants to find the next hit in technology--fiber optics, biotech, telecommunications, wireless, pharmaceutical, and medical, among others. But all technology is not the same; some are "emerging" and others are "disruptive"--somewhat obsolete and not at all state-of-the-art.

With the increasing speed of technological change in all these fields, it is becoming increasingly important to investigate carefully and thoroughly what is future technology versus aging technology.

Peter Madlem, an expert advisor on investment topics, offers investors clear, simple, and practical guidelines for investigating and finding companies with new, emerging technologies. This investment system is based on real-world data and interviews with experts and industry leaders on what to look for and when and how to invest in technology companies.

5 out of 5 stars Wonderful Marketing and Management Guide for the SOHO Owner.......2004-05-06

Barbara has really outdone herself again in part 2 of her Homemade Money book series, Bringing in the Bucks. In this follow-up to her Starting Smart! book, Barbara has provided an encyclopedic A-Z "crash course" in home business management that's an incredible resource all by itself, and has devoted the rest of the book to the number one problem with which my clients struggle--marketing their businesses. Barbara literally takes you by the hand and walks you down the marketing path, from helping you devise your marketing strategy to providing insight on how to play the publicity game to giving you ideas on inexpensive marketing techniques. Once you've gotten through these stages, there's a whole chapter devoted to doing business online. I would be hard-pressed to find a more comprehensive resource to help my clients manage and market their businesses.

5 out of 5 stars Bringing In the Bucks.......2003-09-15

As a woman who has worked from home for over eight years, the most important lesson that I have learned is to enjoy all of the expert information that is available for research about working from home. Homemade Money: Bringing In the Bucks is a perfect example of reading something that will enlighten you, help you in areas that you never imagined and give you the self-confidence to know that you are choosing your own path for your life instead of letting some employer rule your days! I never imagined how much information author Barbara Brabec was cramming into this great read! Even though I feel good about my work and my lifestyle, I learned even more about working from home and increasing my future income from Homemade Money: Bringing In the Bucks. I suggest you take the time to read this jam-packed book, filled with information, been-there-done-that advice and helpful tips. It could possibly help YOU bring in the bucks!

5 out of 5 stars The Bible for Home-Based Business!.......2003-08-07

My good friend Barbara Brabec has produced what I believe to be the most comprehensive "manual" for anyone starting or thinking of starting a home-based business.

No questions are left unanswered. From start-up concerns like zoning, permits, and legal forms of your business, to running your business day-to-day, this book is the only one that you'll need to get up and running in no time.

What's more, Barbara Brabec has solicited the comments of industry professionals from many different fields. They offer tried-and-true tips and techniques to run your business smoothly and, as the title says, "Bring in the bucks"!

Highly recommended as more and more people are starting and running their own businesses today-- from home. And it contains all of the info you need.

If you buy just one book before launching out into the deep waters of home-based self-employment, make it this book!

5 out of 5 stars Super resource for the SOHO (small office/home office worker.......2004-05-06

I've been reading Barbara's books for over 10 years now. I first came across her work when I wanted to start a business as a crafter in the early 1990's and read her craft business books like a Bible--they were incredibly helpful in helping me get started in that business. Now that I've transitioned out of that into a coach working with women's small business owners, many of whom are working from home, I think I've found a new Bible for the home-based professional. Homemade Money: Starting Smart is a must-see for anyone contemplating starting a business from home! It really is an "A-Z Crash Course" in everything one might need to begin a home-based biz, from coming up with the idea to opening the doors and welcoming customers. The resources section alone is worth many times the cost of the book--it's incredibly comprehensive and will save anyone hours and hours of research, and the interviews she conducts with successful home business owners are incredibly insightful and motivating (my interview is on page 113). I highly recommend both volumes of Homemade Money for any of my coaching clients who want a comprehensive and realistic overview of the life and times of a home business owner.

5 out of 5 stars Start Living a Homemade Dream!.......2003-09-15

As a work-at-home expert, the one thing that I get asked over and over again is how I started and how I manage my business, while taking care of my family and raising my children. Many people just cannot fathom how one quits a job and then starts a business out of their home. Author Barbara Brabec really takes the mystery out of working from home with this great book, Homemade Money: Starting Smart. With information and resources for everything from a quiz to see if you really have what it takes to work out of your home, to figuring out what home business is right for you ... and beyond, with information about how to run (and profit!) from a home-based business. With the rising instances of people working from home, this book is the perfect resource for everyone who has the drive and determination to making working from home a reality! I highly recommend this book as a must-have work-at-home resource.

Working from home and having a family is not going to be easy, but this book addressed almost all of my concerns. Unlike other home business books, this one focuses on everything from picking an idea for a business to involving your children to evaluating your work on a weekly basis. Donna Partow can make these suggestions from a mother's point of view, and for those of us who struggle with the balance of work and home, this is practical. Her spiritual insights included scripture references on subjects such as procrastination and overworking. A great book for any working mother.

4 out of 5 stars VERY Applicable for today's woman!.......2000-06-15

This book hits the nail right on the head. Working at home is really the best way to help support your family. You're always there for them, and yet you can provide for them at the same time. Donna Partow knows what she's talking about as she wisely gives the low-down on how to start an at-home business. She gives useful tools and tips on how to go about this goal productively while growing closer to God at the same time. Great book. I would recommend it to any woman who has even a faint dream of working at home or putting her talents to a productive use.

Everything's there -- from marketing to taxes to family issues to copyright to going out of business and so much more. All the info is clearly laid out & indexed, which makes it a great reference book. Highly recommended for anyone considering a home business.

This book is a great job. This is a kind of encyclopedia of home businesses. You can really find how to select, start, manage, market, and multiply the profits of business at home. But almost all the reference information ablolutely useless outside the United States. Maybe, for foreigners from all over the globe this Barbara Brabec's book is an inspirational guide to dare to create your own home business. But for the first you need to collect extra corresponding reference information for your local country -- on law, banks, accounts, bookkeeping and so on.

        5 out of 5 stars Excellent!.......1999-02-11

This is THE book for anyone thinking about creating a home based business. Includes a crash course in business basics, up-to-date tax and legal info, nitty gritty marketing strategies, and a wealth of resources that will help you select, start, manage, and market a business at home.

5 out of 5 stars An Inspirational Guide For Working At Home!.......1998-09-27

With the advances being made in computer and communications technology many are finding this a much easier task to accomplish. Barbara Brabec has written Homemade Money to provide detailed help to those persons desiring to work at home so they can set up and successfully operate their own businesses.

Readers will find Barbara Brabec's book an inspirational guide to help them establish a home-based business. She helps her readers to determine if a home business is right for them.              Barbara offers readers recommendations on some of the home businesses they could start. According to her there are two kinds of businesses, product-oriented and service-oriented, both of which can be successfully operated from a home. From the supplier: Ben & Jerry's Homemade Inc.'s World Wide Web site is first a social consciousness endeavor before it is a marketing one. Amid a good-looking and well-managed site are the ice cream firm's calls for a stop to budget cuts on services for children and reduction in the military budget. Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield are known in the industry for their espousal of politically correct causes. However, Ben & Jerry's must improve its Web site by using smaller graphics and lesser fancy icons to attract more visitors.

From the supplier: Ben and Jerry's Homemade Inc. has been one of the most successful ice cream operations in recent years. However, the company has found itself stagnant and is currently experiencing difficulties as it becomes a major player in an increasingly competitive industry. Observers believe that the management style of owners Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield served the company well when it was still small but that a professional CEO and experienced managers are now needed to run the $200 million-and-growing ice cream firm.
