    Marriage and the Economy explores how marriage influences the monetized economy as well as the household economy. Marriage institutions are to the household economy what business institutions are to the monetized economy, and marital status is clearly related to the household economy. Marriage also influences the economy as conventionally measured via its impact on labor supply, workers' productivity, savings, consumption, and government programs such as welfare programs and social security. The macro-economic analyses presented here are based on the micro-economic foundations of cost/benefit analysis, game theory, and market analysis. Micro-economic analysis of marriage, divorce, and behavior within marriages are investigated by a number of specialists in various areas of economics. Western values and laws have been very successful at transforming the way the world does business, but its success at maintaining individual commitments to family values is less impressive.

      I've found the book very easy to go through. Comming from an IT backgroud, it does give you very good general background on BMP business past and current business trends.

      The IT concepts described in the book are very well described for such a book.

      References coverage in each chapter is the most valuable part. You can see easily the book is a result of several years of work.

      I commend it highly. It is a great handbook on Strategic Process. It is written in an accessible style that engages the reader and it is full of useful ideas without being overly prescriptive or formulaic.

      There has been a need for a readable, practical but theoretically underpinned book on Strategic Process ... here it is.

      This book is a great resource for managers thrown into the midst of strategy implementation processes, who need to gain understanding of strategic processes.

      "Configure the processes with patience, realism, and determination and you will see that the contents automatically gain in quality" quote authors. - Great statement; processes are very important.

      The structure/setup of this book I could use as a basic framework for the Strategic Management Course at United Business Institutes, Belgium. The book will enable the reader to understand the wide range of issues involved in strategy processes.

      After reading this book, the reader will be able to think about strategy and judge strategic thinking (authors are using questions as a form to introduce a subject - great concept) and - this is important - make the reader curious about strategy and willing to look further into this subject.

        This book is very detailed yet easy to understand. We have recently purchased cheese making kits for making cheeses at home since where we live, they are quite expensive and not readily available, especially for the goat cheeses in Australia.

        THe 1st book we bought was good enough for beginners (if you are afraid of making cheeses, don't. Everything we did came perfectly all right). But this one goes into more details and explanations. So we recommend it!

        I got interested in making cheese after I meet the artisan cheesemaker at a local winery near Herman, Missouri. She told me that she had started in her kitchen and had developed the hobby into a professional culinary skill, after further education in Europe and Israel on the fine art of cheesemaking. She enthusiastically recommended this book, and I received it for Christmas. It is very well written, with logical chapter layout for ingredients, equipment, and techniques, followed by lots of recipes for the different families of cheeses (hard, soft, Italian, etc.) The beginning establishes the cheese makers vocabulary, which is then used throughout the book. A great book for a beginning cheese maker.

        buy it.

        It focusses on the process for making hard, pressed cheeses.
        I much prefer Ricki Carrols book for acccessible information pertinant to someone making small quantities of lots of different varieties of cheese.
