Book Description
Organizational Behavior provides the essential knowledge base and skill set so that future managers can harness the power of employees and teams to successfully navigate the changing world of work. Organizational behavior is the study of individual behavior and group dynamics in organizational settings. It focuses on timeless topics like motivation, leadership, teamwork, and communication. The text presents the opportunity to know concepts, ideas, and theories, and to practice skills, abilities, and behaviors to enhance the management of human behavior at work. To make the book more relevant to the learner, we have enhanced and further integrated the subtitle Foundations, Realities, Challenges into the theme in the 5th edition. The reader will see the tie to the subtitle with new feature titles: Foundations (new title: Science), Realities (new title: The Real World), and Challenges (new title: You) that have a more contemporary and personal feel. This theme will be integrated throughout the text and supplements making a true integrated learning package. In this new edition, six new focus companies have been selected. The authors use the focus companies so that learners can see how one company responds to different organizational situations. The focus companies are a variety of company types, for example, Whole Foods, Pixar, and Canine Companions. The authors also make sure to integrate four organizational behavior key themes into each chapter. These supporting themes are globalization, diversity, technology, and ethics. Sub-themes are designed to arm future managers with the tools they need to meet organizational challenges.Customer Reviews:

Organizational Behavior (3rd Edition).......2001-03-31
There are three main aspects that I particularly liked about this book. First, it was easy to read in that it was well organized. The author arranged the chapters with headings and subheadings in order to keep relevant information together. Second, the reader had a clear view of what was expected to be learned from each chapter. This is because the objectives were clearly and concisely stated at the beginning of each chapter and there was a summary included at the end as well. Third, the author used a great deal of figures and graphs to reiterate the concepts. This is especially helpful for visual learners, like myself. Overall, I would recommend this book to anyone wishing to learn more organizational behavior.

Organizational Behavior.......2001-03-29
The authors did a wonderful job of portraying the important points by highlighting key words and displaying bold definitions on the same page as the reading. I feel that the book could be improved by limiting the amount of reading, such as removing extra conversation and getting straight to the point rather than provide entertainment.
Organizational Behavior.......2001-03-26
The challenges throughout the book give each reader the opportunity to learn more about himself/herself. I found this particularly helpful to understanding diffent things about myself, including what type of leader I am, and how I best deal with conflict, and what I am motivated by. I think it is important for a text book to not only teach about a particular subject, but also help the reader learn something about himself/herself. This book allowed me to do that. Because of this, I will be a more effective part of an organizational group or team when I am in the workforce someday.

Grass for Dairy Cattle
Manufacturer: CABI ProductGroup: Book Binding: Hardcover ASIN: 0851992889 |
Book Description
With the current interest in the environmental and economic sustainability of dairy farming, grass forage crops have emerged as a potential solution to some of the nutrient management problems encountered on intensively managed dairy farms. The expansion and reintegration of grass-based systems into the mainstream of dairying systems will require a major shift involving economic, social, and ecological, as well as biological factors. This book examines the role of grass in milk production in sustainable agricultural ecosystems. Issues examined include breeding, management, storage, feeding and economics for both lactating and dry dairy cows. Written by leading specialists from Australia, Europe, New Zealand, North and South America, this volume is a valuable resource for researchers, dairy industry professionals, and advanced students of forage and dairy cattle nutrition.

Edelman draws from many fields beyond the clinical-classical scholarship, Jungian thought, mythology, philosophy and theologyto find meaning and eventually healing the paralysis of shame. Of central importance is the image of the hideous Gorgon worn on Athene's breastplate and the possibilities for understanding shame with the help of Athene.
