Product Description
History: Fiction or Science? is the most explosive tractate on history ever written - however, every theory it contains, no matter how unorthodox, is backed by solid scientific data. The book is well-illustrated, contains over 446 graphs and illustrations, copies of ancient manuscripts, and countless facts attesting to the falsity of the chronology used nowadays, which never cease to amaze the reader. Eminent mathematician proves that: Jesus Christ was born in 1153 and crucified in 1186 The Old Testament refers to mediaeval events. Apocalypse was written after 1486. Does this sound uncanny? This version of events is substantiated by hard facts and logic - validated by new astronomical research and statistical analysis of ancient sources - to a greater extent than everything you may have read and heard about history before. The dominating historical discourse in its current state was essentially crafted in the XVI century from a rather contradictory jumble of sources such as innumerable copies of ancient Latin and Greek manuscripts whose originals had vanished in the Dark Ages and the allegedly irrefutable proof offered by late mediaeval astronomers, resting upon the power of ecclesial authorities. Nearly all of its components are blatantly untrue! For some of us, it shall possibly be quite disturbing to see the magnificent edifice of classical history to turn into an ominous simulacrum brooding over the snake pit of mediaeval politics. Twice so, in fact: the first seeing the legendary millenarian dust on the ancient marble turn into a mere layer of dirt - one that meticulous unprejudiced research can eventually remove. The second, and greater, attack of unease comes with the awareness of just how many areas of human knowledge still trust the three elephants of the consensual chronology to support them. Nothing can remedy that except for an individual chronological revolution happening in the minds of a large enough number of people.

Calculations are only as good as your numbers.......2007-08-03
Yes, we can all agree that mainstream history is nearly 100% BS due to politics, economics, ego, problems with dating techniques, and various conspiracies. Agreed. But, I've been researching the distinct possibility that human history (in terms of civilizations) are much more ancient than we've been told, so coming across this book was very interesting to me. I wondered how Fomenko could be wrong (if at all) because he is very persuasive in his presentations. Then it dawned on me. If at previous times in prehistory, due to the various catastrophies that are well documented (comets, asteroids, planetary disruptions, plasma discharge, pole reversals, etc) the Earth was in a different position in relation to the sun, different tilt on its axis, different orbit, different rotation (in terms of velocity and DIRECTION), and the continents were in different positions, then would this not cause the ancients to see the sky (constellations) differently? In other words, is Fomenko making erronious assumptions about the physics of the Earth in pre-history, which then corrupt his data with regards to dating the relevant astrology? The last event to seriously disrupt our planet occured roughly 3500 years ago, according to other good researchers, so is it possible Fomenko has been confused by this? The vastly different physics of our planet in the not so distant past may explain this confusion, which is not to say the "mainstream" version of history is correct; on the contrary. I am not an expert in these fields, but wanted to see if this idea could spark discussion.
Pants on fire?.......2007-07-19
Will people ever read before spamming? Yes, Jesuits could not rewrite world history alone, they had help. Anyway, Dr Prof Acad A.Fomenko does not point to jesuits as the driving force of world wide history manipulation in published volumes 1,2,3;, actually he barely mentions the poor devils. Check it with 'Search inside' feature, please. China is rarely mentioned either, in fact, Dr Fomenko is completely eurocentric. Right, his theory contradicts all mainstream schools of history, because in their actual state they are all built on blatantly erroneus chronology. You don't need a mysterious cabal (conspiracy) to falsify history, the falsification is its modus operandi. It is inherent to history(ians) to falsify (distort) events, as it is inherent to humans to boast as it is inherent to power (authority) to legimize itself by referrring to glorious past made to its own order. Dr Prof Fomenko and team have identified scores of instances of such manipulation in Russian, European, etc.. history, and delivered valid statistical proof thereof. His own 'reconstruction' is completely another story. Forget c14 as a valid method of dating. W.Libby has initially discovered a brilliant method of INDEPENDENT dating. Too bad, c14 method has become a joke after a forced marrige with dendrochronology with consensual chronological scale inbuilt. Radiocarbon method can't stand blind tests, but is so very productive as a rubberstamp.
Accepted History & Chronology Must Be Changed. .......2007-04-09
There is no doubt that history as most know it is a sham, & institution's version of History both University & Church is fradulent & inaccurate. Everything was established with an agenda, The real "Dark Ages" are now when we have access to incredible amounts of information past authorities & more important 'common folk' didn't have but our institutions & educators are slow to evolve because of what has ignorantly & arrogantly been taught for too long. This is on many subjects not just Chronology.
For anyone to question "Why would a Mathematician have anything credible to say of History?" The answer is from Dr. Fomenko's preface in the book: "It would be worthwhile to remind the reader that in the XVI-XVII century Chronology was considered to be a subdivision of Mathematics." These volumes could possibly be some of the most important works to date & should be read by everyone with an interest in History, especially professors & educators who have a duty to the public. I have read both books & must say that 'Chronology 1' has some very eye opening & revolutionary information. Even if these volumes are part true the implications are profound & opens the doors to further investigations & questions which must be done. I speak several different lanquages & must say the logic Dr. Fomenko uses with "inflection" of words & words being read from left to right in one region & right to left in another then written backwards, the removal of vowels & get down to basics of words, or different cities & locations having the same name etc. is correct. Vowel usage has always been optional & varied, actually complicating linquistics & study. The first thing one has to understand is that words never had a fixed spelling in history like we do now, the spelling of words was mutable & regional, as well as names & titles of people were vast, varied & changed, NOTHING WAS FIXED or understood linear. Matters of Life & Death as well as financial profiteering yesterday & today were & are made with ignorant, illogical & conspiratorial views of history & reality, it's time people get closer to the Truth & society collectively grow up.
Very Interesting.......2007-03-07
It is a good proposal and I believe it will mature into something even better in the future. I think it deserves to be read.
History as Science Fiction.......2007-01-10
Anatoly Fomenko has written a very intriguing book, full of pictures, charts, and computer 'proof' of his thesis: backwards of AD900 we don't really know what happened or when. Between AD900 and AD1600 there is more certainty, but there is still a lot of fuzzy ground, and things don't get reliable until we get past the 1600's where the printing press made it very difficult for the perpetrators of this timeline manipulation to change anything that had been committed to print. The Dark Ages did not happen. Books were burned for a reason. One organization has doubled the actual length of its existence by expanding the real chronology. Read why.
I had always wondered why Christ died about AD33 and yet men waited until the 11th century to form the Knights Templar, the Cathars, etc and go after the Holy Land by force. Why the 1000 year gap? Turns out there wasn't more than a 10-12 year gap and he proves it using astronomy. This also implies that the planet is not as old as we have been told, and current Christian and other creationist scientists are already championing that idea without being aware of Fomenko's book. The two groups, creationist scientists and the Russian mathematical analysts corroborate each other. Fascinating.
Of course, all this flies in the face of what we have been told traditionally is the 'proper' chronology of western civilization, and most readers will experience 'cognitive dissonance' in reading this book. It means that our history going backwards from AD1600 becomes progressively more incorrect and unreliable until it cannot be trusted at all... in the space of 700-800 years.
Naturally, the curious, open-minded reader will want to know WHO did this, WHY, and did any of the events we think of as really ancient ever happen?
Dr. Fomenko is a respected scientist/mathematician at Moscow State University who has already answered these questions to the satisfaction of his initially skeptical colleagues. Most of them are now believers, a few still refuse to believe (the usual diehards), and of course the western press has ignored Fomenko's work -- for obvious reasons when you read the book. The ones who perpetrated this chronology ruse have a lot to answer for. They are still with us. That's why this book is a well-kept secret.
I gave the book a 4-star rating because I was unable to check out some of his claims; those I checked were as he said. But if even 1/3 of his claims are true, this punches a big hole in what we think is our history, the meaning of western civilization, our educational process (for repeating the ruse as gospel), and the trustworthiness of the organization that perpetrated this ruse, well-intentioned or not.
This book relates to current research into a Young Earth paradigm, to John Keel's discoveries about our planet, and Fr Malachi Martin's insights (in his now out-of-print books). We are indeed sheep who are manipulated and kept ignorant -- for a reason. While knowing what these men have to say may be the "booby prize" (as in: 'what can you do with this knowledge?'), it will provide interesting reading. Didn't someone say: "...and the Truth will set you free."?? For you to judge if this book contains the truth.

Book Description
A nuanced look at how nature has been culturally constructed in South and Southeast Asia, Nature in the Global South is a major contribution to understandings of the politics and ideologies of environmentalism and development in a postcolonial epoch. Among the many significant paradigms for understanding both the preservation and use of nature in these regions are biological classification, state forest management, tropical ecology, imperial water control, public health, and community-based conservation. Focusing on these and other ways that nature has been shaped and defined, this pathbreaking collection of essays describes projects of exploitation, administration, science, and community protest.
With contributors based in anthropology, ecology, sociology, history, and environmental and policy studies, Nature in the Global South features some of the most innovative and influential work being done in the social studies of nature. While some of the essays look at how social and natural landscapes are created, maintained, and transformed by scientists, officials, monks, and farmers, others analyze specific campaigns to eradicate smallpox and save forests, waterways, and animal habitats. In case studies centered in the Philippines, India, Pakistan, Thailand, Indonesia, and South and Southeast Asia as a whole, contributors examine how the tropics, the jungle, tribes, and peasants are understood and transformed; how shifts in colonial ideas about the landscape led to extremely deleterious changes in rural well-being; and how uneasy environmental compromises are forged in the present among rural, urban, and global allies.

Customer Reviews:
Very disappointed.......2001-05-15
In purchasing this book I was looking for pragmatic exercises applicable to work teams in the U.K. Having read the book, and being an experienced and well respected trainer,I decided that there was little, if anything that would be acceptable to 'blue collar workers'. There is too much 'ivory tower theory' that would turn people off, rather than stimulating and inspiring them to become actively involved in either a training or team activity. For me it was a waste of money!
Bringing spirituality into teamwork.......2000-04-24
This book is the only practical book on the market for helping people to deeply explore the connection between spirituality and high performance in teamwork. The six-stage model is applicable not only to teams but to one's own personal development, to couples, and to organizations. The exercises are well-designed and easy to follow. The large full-page layout of the book allows you to copy very professional handout material to use in workshops.
This six-stage team development model has been used with great success in both for-profit organizations such as AT&T, and in non-profit organizations. I highly recommend it to all trainers who are working with teams, and suggest that you consider taking Heerman's Team Spirit Certification Training to further develop your skills in this area.
If you want touchy-feely, this is your book!.......1999-09-30
I was hoping to find fun, but relevant exercises. Instead, the book wants you to share your feelings, or connect nine dots (been there, done that back in high school!). This book is good if you want to share your feelings, and is not good if you are looking to hve fun.
Team activities that really work!.......1997-08-26
For once here's a book that truly delivers thought-provoking activities to inspire team members. Organized by the stage of a team (developing, mature, etc.) there are activities here for any situation.
I bought this book while preparing a workshop to combine two existing teams from different companies into one. Itseemed custom-made for my needs in developing the staff workshop and provided just the extra energy I was looking for.
This book's a keeper - a welcome addition to my reference library

Legal Opinion Letters Formbook, Second Edition
ASIN: 9041199020 |
Book Description
Sponsored by the Banking Law Committee of the International Bar Association's Section of Business Law, this is the fourth edition of a definitive work: the result of extensive discussions at many IBA conferences of lawyers worldwide who provide commentary on a multitude of issues which may arise in the process of rendering legal opinions in international transactions.
In most important international business transactions opinions of counsel are required as a condition precedent to the 'closing' of the transaction. This book analyses and comments on the clauses of a typical legal opinion requested in an international transation. The book explains meaning given to such opinion clauses by U.S. counsel, discusses under the law and practice of 25 countries whether such opinion can be given and whether or not modifications are advisable and addresses the investigation necessary to enable a lawyer to render a correct opinion. The book also contains a chapter discussing the opinion a non-U.S. lawyer should request from a U.S. lawyer. The fourth edition adds a discussion of the special issues involved in opinions rendered by in-house counsel.
The principal purposes of the book is to improve the communications between the lawyer- frequently a U.S. attorney- requesting the opinion and the lawyer rendering the opinion. Both must have a common understanding of the meaning of the terminology used in, and the scope of, the opinion.
Another important purpose of the book is to analyse the interdependence of the opinions of counsel from several countries rendered in connection with one transaction. This frequently requires a conflict of laws analysis. Where the laws of several countries apply to a transaction, the various opinions must be put together like pieces of a puzzle before the recipient of the opinion can be certain that all relevant legal issues, under all relevant legal systems, have been fully addressed.

Product Description
This concise textbook makes it possible to teach the most important concepts in Commercial Law in a single semester as a cohesive whole. These materials incorporate a balance of problems and cases, supplemented with numerous graphic illustrations showing how a complex commercial transaction unfolds. International Perspectives in every chapter discuss major commercial-law topics from the point of view of another legal system or an international convention. Jurisprudential short features provide simple sketches of important constructs such as the Coase Theorem and the concept of the Repeat Player, and present social-justice concerns, including those relating to racial profiling in commerce and unbanked low-income persons. Extensive marginal comments, questions, and cross-references promote active reading and show students how the various Articles of the Uniform Commercial Code function in concert with one another.

Book Description
Most medium and long-term loans are no longer secured by sovereign or governmental guarantees. As a result, lenders must seek security elsewhere. An investor-friendly climate requires a sound legal framework for lenders to effect and enforce secured transactions. This work collects papers from experts in the field on various aspects of cross-border secured transactions, an issue of increasing import in the development of emerging financial markets and transitional market economies. Topics of particular focus include + the ERBD model on secured transactions, + the UNCITRAL Draft Convention on Assignment in Receivables Financing, and + the pending UNIDROIT model. The editors provide an invaluable service in bringing together in a single resource those texts which make a significant contribution to the development of scholarship in this area. The work emphasises the importance of the development of a modern framework for secured transactions. Academics and practitioners will appreciate the expert contributions and multi-disciplinary approach.

Cases and Materials on Business Associations: Agency, Partnerships, and Corporations (6th Edition)
ASIN: 9041196323 |
Book Description
There are many guides to the conduct of international business transactions, but none as comprehensive and detailed as this. It clearly identifies in great depth the many sources of risk in cross-border transactions, analyzes the legal instruments that provide protection to the parties, and describes the practical means -- institutional, purchased, and negotiated -- of reducing, reallocating, and perhaps even eliminating risks. Each chapter covers a distinct element of risk, with insightful commentary on the relevant national, regional, and international laws and detailed analyses of leading and defining cases from many jurisdictions and international courts, as well as considerations of significant scholarly contributions and guidance through insurance options and matters for negotiation. Beginning with the entry-level commercial transaction and letter of credit financing, the author moves through issues of commercial law, dispute resolution, sovereign involvement, public international law, antitrust law, and taxation. Along the way, he highlights types of transaction to which host country law has special application.
The crucial issues of jurisdiction, choice of forum in dispute resolution, recognition and enforcement of judgments, foreign currency judgments, and defenses against claims of sovereign immunity all arise in context with detailed critical analysis and commentary. Other matters covered include the commercial and political risk insurance provided by such US agencies as the Export-Import Bank and the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC), and the protection for investors offered by the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), and the draft Multilateral Treaty on Investment (MAI).
With its expert application and interpretation of the relevant provisions of such important legal instruments as the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG), and UNIDROIT Principles, the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT), and the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC), this major work brings a depth and breadth of treatment to its subject matter for which the student and practitioner will search in vain elsewhere. It is certain to quickly take its place as a definitive work.

Book Description
The Cosmic Inquirers gives a remarkable inside view of the people who helped to forge some of the most sensitive tools of modern science, the astronomical observatories. Based on interviews with pioneers in several fields of astronomy, this book recounts the efforts of scientists to promote, design, and build these magnificent instruments despite political and technical obstacles. The astronomers in these pages tell us, in their own words, about their struggles with Congress, NASA, and colleagues to obtain support and funding. They speak candidly about the demands that Big Science places on its practitioners, and about their personal ambitions and frustrations, the problems with their profession, and the direction of future research.
The Tuckers interweave into the fabric of their human story the scientific challenges posed by these observatories, most of which orbit about the earth’s obscuring atmosphere. These telescopes have probed the entire electromagnetic spectrum, from radio waves to x-rays to gamma radiation, and have yielded a new understanding of phenomena as diverse as quasars, black holes, pulsars, and starburst galaxies. This book invites us to view these telescopes not merely as technological wonders but as the life’s labor and achievement of outstanding individuals.
