Attract and retain the highest-quality teachers through competitive compensation programs!
While many working in the teaching profession cite intangible rewards as reasons for staying in the profession, concrete rewards such as salary, benefits, and working conditions are inextricably linked to attracting, developing, and retaining highly-qualified teachers. This timely text examines the fundamental link between teacher pay and teacher quality as well as the extent to which compensation can be aligned with student achievement.
A range of existing compensation models are reviewed in order to provide a balanced, practical, research-based approach for developing a comprehensive, best-practice teacher compensation system. School administrators can use these synthesized, innovative findings to
Advance student achievement and improve teacher retention by developing a deeper understanding of the connection between teacher pay and teacher quality.

Does Quality Pay?: Benefits of Attending a High-Cost, Prestigious College (Studies in Higher Education)
Liang Zhang Manufacturer: Routledge ProductGroup: Book Binding: Hardcover ASIN: 041597514X |
Book Description
Previous research has generally shown a very small although statistically significant economic benefit from attending high-quality colleges. This small effect was at odds with what students' college choice and various social theories would seem to suggest. This study sought to reconcile the empirical evidence and theories. The effort was in two directions. First, the economic effect of college quality was expanded from examining only the economic benefit to considering other student outcomes including job satisfaction and graduate degree accomplishment. A new perspective regarding the social role of college quality was offered in conclusion.

Product Description
Pay for Performance (P4P), the burgeoning movement in the healthcare industry to align financial incentives with improved results, is touted as a means of improving healthcare quality without increasing costs. Health plans are now devising metrics for tying millions of dollars in physician bonus incentives to healthcare quality outcomes. In this special report, "Pay for Performance: Raising the Bar on Quality, Efficiency and Results," based on two recent audio conferences, a panel of experts shared their experiences: healthcare consultants analyzed the results of national studies on the reach of P4P programs among U.S.-based health plans and sketched out a timeline for future developments, while three organizations described their ongoing efforts to build cohesive P4P programs. You'll hear from Geoffrey B.
