      1 out of 5 stars mislead.......2004-03-28

I was told this book had some writing and highlighting, yet when it got here (very quickly by the way on shipping) it had more than SOME! Every page in the first 15 chapters are highlighted and there are to many notes in it to mention. I am very displeased, i feel I WAS LIED TO - I BOUGHT THIS BOOK FROM-
Kate 12888, AND I WILL NEVER TRUST HER AGAIN, PEOPLE SHOULD BE HONEST WHEN MAKING A BUSINESS DEAL- INCLUDING SELLING BOOKS!!!
I WOULD NEVER HAVE MISLEAD SOMEONE OVER A TEXTBOOK! THIS I FIND TO BE CHILDISH- AND SELF CENTERED! ALTHOUGH I WILL NOW HAVE TO USE THIS BOOK- I COULD HAVE BOUGHT A CLEAN NEW ONE FOR $10.00 MORE!!!! THANKS FOR YOUR LEFT OVER JUNK! Kate 12888!!!!

1 out of 5 stars Frustrating and disappointing and a waste of my good money........1999-11-03

STUDENTS BEWARE !!! It is frustrating, disappointing AND a waste of my good money to have bought this book, only to later discover that I could not buy the subsequent volume to cover only Chapters 16-28. I now have to purchase Ch.ONE thru 28, because these money-grabbing scoundrels did not write/publish the follow-up ! I am extremely disappointed with having to re-purchase the first 15 chapters, which are now, to me, superfluous! They are a done deal! All I need is the textbook for ch. 16-28. The Study Guide/Working Papers for 16-28 are available for purchase...why not the damned textbook???

                      Book Description

To help global managers and international business scholars understand the multiple influences of globalization and digital technology on global financial management, Carrada-Bravo has dispensed with traditional distinctions between corporate and global finance in order to bring a much-needed coherence to the practice and study of global finance. Throughout this well-structured and highly practical volume, he emphasizes the delivery of business experiences associated with the financial interaction between entities of two or more regions of the world via the Internet or other form of electronic communication. Knowledge of global financial issues in this context will help practitioners and academics alike judge how external shocks may affect the economy of a country or the financial picture of a corporation. Moreover, a firm understanding of global finance in the digital age will provide guidance in many decision-making scenarios, from how to profit from the disturbances associated with variations in currency to how to take advantage of technological changes in global communication. The author also suggests ways to isolate institutions from the harmful effects of such external shocks. He provides extensive coverage by including the financial experiences of corporations from the Americas, Europe, Asia, and Africa.

                            5 out of 5 stars Brain-Behavior Disorders- A Practical and Useful Source.......2001-01-31

Drs. Sbordone and Saul have written an extremely informative and practical book on behavioral disorders consequent to brain disease. These two authors, a neuropsychologist and a neurologist-psychiatrist, have combined their expertise in a highly synergistic way. The product is a book which successfully (and accessibly) covers topics from the discipline of neuropsychology to neuroanatomy and neurobehavioral disorders to neuropsychological assessment and tests. One of the unique aspects of this book is the ability to look at these patients from a cross-disciplinary view. A second strong aspect is the excellent coverage of the effects of traumatic head injury. A third valuable aspect is the detailed discussion of the mental status and neuropsychological assessment. A fourth aspect is the series of sample cases and reports with their critiques. In addition, the book has an remarkable set of appendices with a great glossary of terms, drugs, and tests.

This book has a great deal of useful information organized in a very readible format. In fact, one of the aspects that recommend it is the ability to quickly refer to a pertinent topic, disorder, or specific neuropsychological test. I strongly recommend this book.

                              Book Description

Few medical and legal professionals would have trouble locating a book on traumatic brain injury and forensic neuropsychology. But to locate a text on the forensic assessment process and clinical issues of TBI is akin to finding a needle in a haystack. Very few, if any, works exist on the subject. The Forensic Evaluation of Traumatic Brain Injury: A Handbook for Clinicians and Attorneys fills this void. It provides both the clinician involved in forensic examinations and the legal professional involved in litigation or legal proceedings of personal injury with a general overview of the legal issues and assessment process in TBI cases. The book begins with an overview of key issues involved in the forensic assessment of TBI, including definitions and medical diagnostic terminology of interest to the forensic examiner and legal professional. Subsequent chapters provide an overview of the neurologic, neuropsychological and psychological forensic assessment process specific to brain injury cases. The final portion of the book focuses on the forensic examiner as expert witness.

Completely revised and updated, this third edition remains an unparalleled reference on the assessment of patients by non-neuropsychologists. Expanding the section on neuroanatomy, the book discusses new findings on age related cognitive changes, PTSD, late onset dementia, and Alzheimer's and includes a new chapter on malingering and deception. The book covers new neurodiagnostic procedures and evaluates a wide range of neuropsychological tests in terms of their strengths, limitations, validity, and reliability as well as methods of scoring and interpretation. It presents several case studies and sample medico-legal reports, a glossary of terms, a list of medications, and a quick-reference summary of the tests detailed in the book.
