This is an excellent resource. The summary at the beginning of each chapter is simple to understand. The sample test will give you lots of practice. The exams I had were similar to the ones in this book. And the crossword puzzels at the end of each lesson made studying fun. I highly recommend this book as part of your study curriculm. No accounting student should study with out it.

I am a legal assistant and I use this book constantly! It gives you great strategies to work more efficiently while getting better results. I had no idea how many legal resources there are online! This book tells you which sites are the most reliable and easy to use. It also demystifies annotated legal codes, case digests, state reports and many other research tools. But most importantly it is extremeley well organized and easy to use. I wish that I had discovered this book when I was a student!

Now in its tenth edition, Legal Research: How To Find & Understand The Law by attorneys Stephen Elias and Susan Levinkind is a simple, direct, straightforward, "user friendly" guide to the extremely complicated and tricky topic of doing legal research. Individual chapters address how to properly frame questions in legal categories and efficiently look up relevant laws and case history. Legal Research is emphatically not a substitute for a consultation with an attorney; however, a close reading followed by judicious use of its fact-finding methods is a superbly effective way for non-specialist general readers to prepare themselves before sitting down with a billed-by-the-hour consultation with a licensed attorney or paralegal researcher!

If you have a modicum of introduction to the law, and need a guidebook on "how to" go about researching a legal question, this book is one of the best available. It does assume that you have some working knowledge of how law works, but is an especially good book for either first year law students or paralegal students beyond their introductory courses. Well worth having on your shelf.

Pests are a major cause of deterioration of collections worldwide. Beetles, moths and termites damage a wide range of materials in objects and buildings. The reactive approach of the past is no longer acceptable and many of the treatments formerly used are now illegal or undesirable.

Damage to collections and buildings can be avoided by using Integrated Pest Management (IPM). With thirty-years' experience in pest control, Fagerlund offers suggestions for controlling nearly fifty common (and a few not so common) pests found in and around the home. The questions are divided into categories including disruptive pests, destructive pests, biters and stingers, reptiles and rodents, and garden and household bugs. But what separates Ask the Bugman from other such books is its environmental ethic, which is carefully laid out in the principles of Integrated Pest Management (IPM). Typical IPM methods include habitat modification, improved sanitation, and the use of less-toxic, pest-specific baits. As alternatives to harmful chemicals, he counsels use of home remedies, provides a number of these, and includes others sent in by readers of his column. Ten original sketches of common household pests give readers an appreciation of their appearance.

Environmentally safe, effective ways of controlling mice, termites, bed bugs and other common household insects and creatures are revealed in Ask The Bugman!, a guide which uses a question and answer format to impart the basics, and a chapter organization by type of pest ("Biters and Stingers", "Ants") make answers quick to find. An excellent, basic guide to pest control options.

Best book of its kind available.......2002-03-10

This is an excellent book on how to control pests without using toxic chemicals or pest control companies. It is full of great ideas and excellent drawings. It is also entertaining when people, especially the school children, list their least favorite bugs. There is even a great short piece on hemp which makes the book a little controversial. Informative, entertaining and controversial equals very interesting. It is worth every penny...

What's bugging your plants?.......2007-01-10

Do you have questions? This book has the answers. If you are a serious gardener or a weekend putterer this book is for you. 'Pests of Landscape Trees and Shrubs' focuses on IPM as a safer more environmentally responsible method of pest and disease combat. It is a wonderful diagnostic tool with hundredes of color photos and tables to ID your plant problems. It can also be used as a teaching text with full explanation of how and why these methods work from highly trusted University of California sources. This book is an amazing value for it's size and content. It has replaced no fewer than five pest/disease books in my library at a cost that was less than half of some of the others that claimed to know it all. I don't know how I gardened so long without it.
