My Review.......2006-12-06
GRREEEAATT!!! If you love disney songs like I do, you should definitely get this book. All the songs have vocal and piano parts. I for one only use the voice. This book is definitely the best disney classics book.
Love this book.......2006-07-16
This is chockful of easy to play (not very beginner) songs with lyrics that make it fun to sing along. Had all the classic (before the 90's) Disney movie songs I could think of plus "Zorro" "Tiki Room Theme" and some other Disney related stuff I wasn't expecting. Fun book for kids and adults. One warning this is "classic" stuff and I think "The Little Mermaid" is the most recent movie that has songs included.
Great for adults who want to stay young at heart.......2006-07-14
I have looked all over the theme parks and I have not found this edition. I love it! It is nice to be an intermediate piano player who can have fun playing disney tunes as well as have the ability to improvise left hand material!
Well done!.......2006-06-30
For those who are less skilled on the piano, and enjoy the Disney music, this seems to suit very well. The tunes are easily recognized and learned. My [...] enjoys learning tunes she sees on her favorite DVD's! Good choice for the beginner!

One word : Amazing arrangement.......2007-06-27
I think this piano book is really special. Not only because i love disney but I think even non-disney fan can enjoy playing it...
The music's selection is perfect combination.
And also it got a good cover..
Also, it completes with guitar chords and also lyrics.
I think it's really great to have this book as an advance pianist because i have to say that none of these songs are easy. But for ppl with piano background and especially love disney, go buy it now..
For every Disney lover.......2007-04-05
I just started taking piano lessons in the past year. Being a Disney fanatic, I had purchased a Disney sheet music book ASAP. Although it was good, it did not have my favorite Disney songs such as "Be our Guest," "A Whole New World," and "Under the Sea." Luckily, while looking for other sheet music on Amazon, I found this "Contemporary Disney" book. I was so excited to see that it had these precious songs that my previous book was lacking. I purchased it immediately. It arrived within a couple days and I haven't put it down since. So, if you are an avid Disney fan and a music lover, this book is a definite must for your collection.
Excellent.......2005-02-21
This book has a very accurate selection of disney songs arranged to be played by an intermediate level piano student (includes vocals and chords as well). At first, some songs seemed difficult for me because of the amount of hand stretching, but I managed to master them quite quickly, in about 2-3 weeks, and I definitely feel the improvement in my playing. The good thing about playing disney songs is that as we might already know how they'll sound, it will be easier for us to play them. I would definitely recomend this book to anyone who likes disney songs and who has been playing the piano for at least 3 years to be able to enjoy it completely. Enjoy!
The greatest book I'll ever own.......2002-09-25
What could be better than a book containing 50 of the best songs from Disney's best period? Included in this collection are tracks from the Oscar winning scores by Alan Menken(The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin and Pocahontas), Stephen Shwartz(Pocahontas) and Hans Zimmer(The Lion King). All my favorites are in here and the music is easy enough for most occasional players to follow.
The only dissapointing thing is that the book only covers Disney's contemporary films. Music from such classics as The Jungle Book and The Aristocats is sadley left out. A must have for any fan of the music of perhaps the greatest film company in history!

The hall's rich wood interior allows musicians and listeners to dwell inside an instrument of exquisite craftsmanship. The centerpiece of the auditorium is a skewed arrangement of organ pipes located behind the stage. This organ represents the culmination of 16 years of design, planning, and construction, and it has been a reverberating success since its inaugural concert in the fall of 2004. Forest of Pipes includes fascinating interviews with key figures in the organ's design and construction, including organ designer Manuel Rosales, organ builder Caspar Glatter-Goetz, as well as Gehry himself. GREAT GREAT GREAT!!.......2005-10-16
I have been playing piano for 8 years and i love this book!! it is one of my favorite books to play out of. I think if you buy it you will enjoy every song out of it!
No lyrics. Not for beginers........2004-06-24
I bought this thinking my daughter would use this book for her piano lessons, music she liked and could sing. Unfortunately there are no lyrics to any songs. My daughter has taken piano lessons for two years and it is just too complicated for her. Mostly I was so dissapointed that their were no lyrics. We could have saved it for the future and just sang the songs. Ultimatley a return for us.

BUY THIS BOOK!! (Can we rate this with more than 5 stars??).......2006-06-09
Usually, you don't come across sheet music that's accurate, but with Jim Brickman's "The Disney Songbook," you don't have to worry about that. I am very satisfied with this product and it makes a great gift for any piano player that likes disney and Jim Brickman's stylings. Jim Brickman approved the arrangements himself! It really IS the matching sheet music to the "Disney Songbook." You won't be let down!!! :)
Jim Brickman has "brickmanized "The Disney Songbook.......2006-01-16
Jim Brickman's "The Disney Songbook " for the piano is awesome. The songbook doesn't look over whelming to play. The song book consists of "Beauty & the Beast", "Mary Poppins Medley", "Cruella De Vil", "Beautiful", "Reflection", "When I see an Elephant Fly", "Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah," "Baby Mine", "Can you feel the Love Tonight", "A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes:, "Some Day My Prince Will Come", "I'm Amazed", "When you Wish Upon A Star" plus bonus songs of "Bare Necessities" and "Colors of the Wind". Jim has done a great job so that piano players will be able to handle the songs. These songs bring back so many memories to everyone, it is a must to have if you play the piano.
Awesome Find for Anyone!.......2005-11-03
Jim Brickman is an awesome pianist and he always has really great songbooks. I've been looking for a Disney songbook but all of them have been really easy, and this one is advanced. I recommend trying out all of his music because all of it is contemporary but has a classical egdy feel to it.

Cute but LOUD.......2006-02-24
My son received this book for his 2nd birthday. It is cute and fun; he loves music, so he's fascinated with the book. However, the one thing that annoys me with this book is that it is so LOUD, with no way to stop a song once it starts or to adjust the volume. That becomes a problem if one of us bumps a button while putting it away after the baby is asleep.
Otherwise, we love it; it's a great way to introduce music.
Fun Book .......2005-03-31
My 18 month old daughter loves this book. There are several different titles from the publisher (pilbooks.com) with the same fun piano concept. We have the Little People Songs that Move. She played with it so much that it actually fell apart. It was a well made book, so no complaints there. I am actually looking for another of the same, but since I can't find it, I am going to buy the Pooh book. These books allow you to push a button and hear the song tune. My daughter loves it when I sing to the tune. After the tune plays, the keys light up, so you can play the tune on your own. You can also press the keys and create your own songs. Cute pictures too.

Family fun for kids and parents.......2002-11-23
This is an amazing song book with songs from all the Disney movies from Snow White up to 1979. Classics I loved to play and sing from this book include: "Drip, Drip, drop, little April Showers" from Bambi, "I can fly!" from Peter Pan, "A Dream is a wish your heart makes" from Cinderella, "Heigh Ho" and "Whistle while you work" from Snow White. I loved this book as a child, and enjoy sharing it now with my daughter. Has most of the songs you remember from the Disney classic movies. Highly recommend it!

FANTASTIC EASY PIANO BOOK!.......2007-01-07
Usually I am not a huge fan of easy piano books. They tend to be watered-down far too much, to the point that the pieces sound nothing like the original. This book, however, is NOT the case. It features a version of "Beauty and the Beast" which I originally had a single piece of sheet music back in the mid-90's, in addition to tons of other great songs as well. The notes are written large on the pages, there's a great variety of both old and new Disney songs, and they're great for kids who are taking piano lessons. The best thing about these renditions is that they sound so much like the original pieces that when one of my students is learning the piece, they want to keep on playing it, causing them to further grow as musicians and most importantly, ENJOY playing music! It's a really great investment!

John Simpson - another gem!,.......2003-05-21
This is the fifth book I have read of John Simpson's. All his books - and this is no exception - are articulate and extremely interesting insights into his working life as a journalist. This particular book deals with his famous 'walk into Kabul', John Simpson teases us by telling us the story in small segments during the book, whilst also discussing his very personal opinions on journalism, the BBC as well as many anecdotes. One thing I enjoy about his books is the way he talks about his own arrogance, pig-headedness, determination to get to the true story with such unusual honesty. I recommend this book to anyone who wants to be better informed about the wicked ways of the world. Amazingly, Mr Simpson keeps you entertained whilst educating you. He has such tremendous experiences as a journalist it would have been a waste not to put pen to paper.

Apple I Forever! :).......2007-09-05
Well if you're looking at this book you probably already know what it is, but just in case - this is a book that can help you to build you're own Apple 1 replica. I have read/skimmed through this book and plan to use it in the future for my own replica. Right now I'm teaching myself electronics and as a goal I want to build a replica using the information in this book. It's too advanced for me right now - but since it's an older title I wanted to get it now before it becomes to hard to find.
Great reading.......2007-08-24
It's a great reading for anyone have used Apple I, II series and ever dreamed about building own computer.
A blast from the past.......2005-06-15
It's been a long time since I've really built a computer, with a soldering iron. The glory days may be gone, but that doesn't mean you can't relive them, or at least learn a little about what they were like. This book will help.
It's really intended to serve as a companion to Vince Briel's Replica-1 kit. You order the parts from his web store, solder them together, make it actually work, and then write software for it. This book doesn't teach a whole lot on the hardware side, just enough to help you put together the kit and debug any mistakes you made in the process of assembling it. Other books are better if you're actually interested in learning the electronics.
If you can solder, though, and you just want to play with a vintage architecture, this book will serve as an excellent companion to the kit, especially once you finish the kit and want to start programming it.
If you're completely new to electronics as a hobby, read the first few chapters, then find other inexpensive kits to practice soldering before you actually plunk down the cash on the Replica-1. They're great soldering (and inevitably also desoldering) practice, and the experience will fill in any gaps left by the introductory chapters.
How big is the audience for this?.......2005-05-12
Gotta say, I know the hardware and software hacking craze is taking off, but this seems a little over the top. Seriously, who is going to build an Apple I? Well, someone I suppose. Anyway, this is an interesting book even if you aren't going to do the work to put it all together.
There are 50 pages on hacking the Macintosh SE. Not quite sure what that's about since it's not mentioned anywhere.
For the techies.......2005-04-12
"Apple I Replica Creation" starts off with a very interesting 5-page foreword by Steve Wozniak, describing the beginnings of his interest in computers and the developments that led to the Apple I. It then covers the history of the Apple I from when it became commercially available, and includes interviews with pioneer users.
For the actual building of the Apple I, author Tom Owad provides details of all the tools and materials required, digital logic diagrams and a step-by-step guide on soldering and assembling it. He follows this with two chapters on programming the Apple I using BASIC and Assembly languages.
Owad also examines at length the processor, memory and input/output aspects to ensure you fully understand the Apple I. This would enable you to write new software and modify the hardware design.
Almost one third of the book is made up of appendices. Here you will find codes and instructions, electrical engineering basics and even a chapter on hacking Macintosh (not sure why Owad included such a chapter).
The book includes a CD containing McCAD EDS-SE400, an integrated Electronic Design System which takes you through the entire design cycle: schematic capture, PCB layout, and board fabrication.
In conclusion, "Apple I Replica Creation" was obviously intended for the technically inclined and targeted at the small group of Apple I fanatics. However, Owad's easy-to-understand style and the inclusion of the many photographs and diagrams make it something that the rest of us may also find curiously interesting.
