Upon purchase of Evanescence's "The Open Door" album,I was startled by the sheer heights of it's imaginative force. Particularly outstanding,I felt,were Amy Lee's arrangements on the piano. So,I knew then and there,that "hey. it'd be really cool to learn this stuff." And so,I did. =]] Well,with the aid of this book I did. It's so inexpensive,just get it! It's well worth more than what you pay for it! Also,hehe,in March,I got my copy signed by Amy Lee herself after their gig in Little Rock,Arkansas. Alright,that's all. It's an amazing book. Get it.

3 Doors Down is one very talented band. With deep, strong lyrics, and a "mellow hardness" sound these guys totally rock!
Besides being a great musicians, these guys are just around to make music, not money, thereby lending themselves to truer lyrics and sound. I highly recommend this CD for anyone who likes rock, or good music in general.

I saw them open for Sevendust and Creed in Fort Wayne on 4.1.2000 and before then, I hadn't heard of them. Now, I can't stop listening to the CD. They are AWESOME live, you can feel the energy and emotion pouring out of their performance. It's definatly worth it to get it. Their style is amazing, the vocals are awesome. The lyrics are beautiful. It's not a tragedgy band> They don't have to have any hype to make them wonderful. Their talent makes them one of the best bands out there today.

All The Best Doors Tunes.......2006-04-15
I'd like to first point out, that reviews for both the 'Guitar Recorded Version' guitar tablature compilation of 'Doors Anthology', and the vocal/piano/guitar chord version of 'Doors Anthology' - are conjoined herein Amazon under both titles. However, both titles are clearly different in content, albeit sharing the same name.
While one reviewer states this title contains selections from "Other Voices", know that the 'Guitar Recorded Version' most certainly does not. For the similar-in-appearance-and-name piano/vocal/guitar chord 'Doors Anthology' of 69 tunes, does contain selections from the post-Morrison "Other Voices". While the 'Guitar Recorded Version' compilation contains only 20 tunes - all original Doors.
And all but two songs in the 'Guitar Recorded Version' compilation, 'Love Street' and 'Blue Sunday', can be found on the 'Legacy: Absolute Best' 2-CD set.
Robbie Krieger contributed greatly to the Doors. His guitar style and fretboard sensibility was crucial to the Doors success. And the 'Guitar Recorded Version' is well written and accurate. While the piano/vocal/guitar chord version of this title is unsuitable for learning Krieger's guitar parts. The 'Guitar Recorded Version' is about 140 pages, while the piano book is about 400 pages. And the 'Easy Tab' version is another animal as well. But I never recommend 'Easy Tab' versions of anything.
So, order carefully.

Excellent Songbook.......2002-01-04
The Hal Leonard Company really did an excellent job in putting together this songbook. Most if not all of the music in this book is letter accurate. Many of the songs have the solos written out so a keyboard player does not have to work very hard. Light My Fire is a rare exception but I doubt any source would ellaborate on the four minute instrumental solo.
What's interesting here is that songs from the Other Voices LP are included in this songbook. Other Voices is the first Doors record that was released after Jim Morrison died. It features the vocals of Robbie Kreiger and Ray Manzarek. Too bad that record is so difficult to find. Also included are stories about the Doors music/recording history as well as an interview with Robbie Krieger.
Overall an excellent resource for musicians who like the Doors.

If you love the Doors music, play guitar and want to sit in with the band--then this book is for you!
This book includes full song transcriptions for many of the Doors most popular songs. A companion CD lets you hear the song (as played by competent musicians trying to replicate the band). The CD comes very close to replicating the sound and feel of the original recordings in the right tempo with full guitar effects
The book contains full song music and fairly easy guitar tab transcriptions for the following six songs:
Light My Fire, LA Woman, Love Me Two Times, Riders on the Storm, Roadhouse Blues, and Spanish Caravan.
The book also contains a detailed section explaining the guitar tablature used. The guitar tab is fairly easy to play and appropriate for beginners to intermediate players. This book does not contain perfect note by note tabs of Robby Krieger's guitar work, but gets close. More advanced players may find this book dull and would probably be more interested in the Doors Guitar Signature Licks book.
The CD (included with the book) contains:
Guitar tuning track, full versions of the above songs with guitar and full versions of the song without guitar for a total of 13 tracks. The background tracks sound very much like the orignal songs with good renditions of the keyboards, drums and guitar. Add your own vocals and guitar and you're set for some fun.

The book is amazing. That pretty much sums it up. The thing that really makes it so great for me is how it includes a CD with the actual song being played. That was the one thing that has really helped me pick up how to play much faster than I expected. If you love 3 Doors Down and want to play their stuff, get this book.

A great Doors "fake book", for piano or guitar!.......2005-05-15
This book contains "fake arrangements" for 29 Doors songs. "Fake arrangements" consist of the melody line and chord name; there are no riffs or fills. Included also in this collection are suggested guitar strum patterns. Each song is written out it its original key, and all the chords are accurate. The songs are not over simplified. Most of the songs are written on two pages facing each other so there is no need to turn the page while playing. The type set is large and easy to read.
This is a great collection for the beginner, or experienced "fake book" player.

Great instructional book........2003-01-10
This book is great for those of us who like to know in depth details about a song's construction. Robby Krieger was contacted for this book and he shares a few interesting facts about how he concieved some of the songs. The CD part is great because it contains slower tempos to play along with, just as all Signature Licks books by Wolf Marshall do.

If your a serious X-phile, you'll find that most of these quizzes are nothing new. I was hoping to find questions that I could "test" my friends with, but most of these facts I already knew, or disagreed with the answers, with the episodes to prove it. I was dissappointed that it wasn't more in-depth.

I can't tell you how insulted I was after I read this "IQ" test. Not only is the trivia simple, but they even got the facts wrong on some of them. They quoted lines incorrectly and attatched quotes to the wrong people. But the most unforgivable sin in the entire book would probably be the fact that the spelled Mulder incorrectly. If you consider yourself even halfway knowledgeable in the area of the X-files, this is not the book for you. Please. Don't waste your money.

This book is one of the best books about The X-Files. Not only can you "test" yourself after every episode, the questions help you discover details that you never caught. It also has questions about David and Gillian. After going through this book, I found myself making up my own questions. Once again, any fan of the show should get this book to add to their collection.

Attractive guide but with some errors and omissions.......2003-10-30
Game guides for the Pokemon series like these are usually for casual players, or used by serious players mainly for the maps. There are a number of online, in-depth FAQ's on sites like gamefaqs.com which cover strategy that printed guides cannot. Prima's guide is certianly eye-candy when compared to the text file FAQ's found online. The maps are large and useful (by contrast, their Ruby/Sapphire guide has smaller maps which are harder to read for some locations.) However, there are shortcomings. It's ordered by area, so there are times when you must flip back through the book (after Team Rocket moves from Mahogany to Goldenrod, for example.) The Battle Tower is barely mentioned, the Pokedex only lists level-up moves for Pokemon (not TM or egg moves), and team rosters are only supplied for major opponents. It does have a very good breeding section and a listing of items. I recommend Prima's guide for the player who needs good maps, or who would like help getting through the game without spoilers for everything.

This guide is good. but not too much. It didn't give me much help on the unown puzzle. I recommend you buy this game guide if you really want it, or get the versus book or the nintend guide.

My son was waiting all week for this and was sorely disappointed when it didn't have any of the maps and hints like the other strategy guides! You should make certain that it points this out and only buy this one if you need the PokeDex information.

When I got this I thought it would be a walk through, boy was I wrong! This guide has EVERYTHING I can think of but a walk through! It does have how to use the game, all of the items you can get in the game, *extremely* detailed information on all 251 pokemon, pages on breeding pokemon, etc. Although this guide let me down because of the missing walkthrough (Earning it the 2 star rating) it is helpful, but only if you have or don't want a walk through.

There was no detail on this book, and I got it thinking it was a walkthrough. Oops! So to make sure no one else makes the same mistake that I did, I'll tell you what information this book contains.
The PokeDex of all 251 Pokemons. That's the primary purpose of this book. The PokeDex lists the Pokemons, their evolutions (if any), how to catch them if possible, what their move sets are, and their stats.
Basic information on how to play this game. Information on the three starter Pokemons, how the "rock / scissor / paper" aspect of this game plays out, how to use the PokeGear, and all of that.
An "events" calendar chart telling you what events takes place on what days.
A list of all the moves available in the Pokemon, including the TMs and HMs.
Where to get all the TMs and HMs in the game.
A list of items that Pokemon from Red/Blue/Yellow carry over with them onto Gold/Silver/Crystal.
An explanation of what mystery gifts are.
A list of all the items available in the game, and what they do.
The Pokemon breeding guide. Who can breed with whom, what baby Pokemons there are, and how to get them.
What this book does NOT contain is a comphresive walkthrough of the Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal games. The book also does NOT tell you the locations of the wild Pokemons, and the odds of catching them in that location.
