He used to be King, but now he's more like God--at least to the legions of devout and devoted who wish to visit and revel in the vibes of every site that's even remotely related to Elvis. From Graceland and Sun Studios, where he lived and worked, to Sierra Sid's Union 76 truck stop in Sparks, Nevada, which preserves Elvis's guns, jewelry, and 104 of his gold records, Yenne guides the faithful to a variety of Elvis shrines. It's all here, including Tupelo, Mississippi, and the Deep South; Memphis, Tennessee, and Texas; plus the North, the West, Hawaii, and even Elvis's home in Bad Nauheim, Germany; the Hotel Prince de Galles, where Elvis stayed in Paris; and the Hound Dog Hole, a cafe in the U.S. Embassy in Almaty, Kazakhstan, where his personal German kitchen was sent after the Friedberg army unit was demobilized in 1994. Yenne's comprehensive research will satisfy the most faithful Elvis apostles. --Stephanie Gold
Book Description
This is your guide to hundreds of places where Elvis lived, played, performed, recorded, made movies, attended church, ate, drank or swivelled his hips. Also included are the places where he was born, where he died, where he is buried and the many shrines that exist so his memory will never die.
Customer Reviews:
Lots of current information for a good price.......2000-08-30
There was a older book called TRAVELS WITH ELVIS (also called ROADSIDE ELVIS) that covered the same ground. THE FIELD GUIDE... is decently priced, has original photos and maps, and is obviously very up-to-date. Overall, the book doesn't seem to have much personality -- it is literally a guide. I can't speak for any section other than the California one, but that section doesn't really offer any terrific new "shrines" but covers the same old information - the house where Elvis met the Beatles, Parmount, Fox, Pan Pacific, etc.
One of the best books I have ever seen.......2000-01-24
This book is a must for all Elvis fans who wants to find Elvis related places, and feel the man and his time. Eagles nest - Priceville cemetery in Tupelo - or every house Elvis lived in(include other countries). You can find all! Very simple explained - easy the Research... I dont want miss this book.

A great followup to the first episode guide!.......2007-05-19
If you own "Hercules:The Legendary Journeys'Offical Episode Guide",then this followup guide is a must! This guide takes you through the final three seasons, with thoughts from cast members Kevin Sorbo,Michael Hurst, and others. The highlight for me was getting to read the final thoughts of Kevin Smith,to whom this book is dedicated. Also included is a fine group of b/w photos taken on the set. The cover photo is fabulous as are the black & white ones. If you are a HTLJ fan, you will thoroughly enjoy this trip down memory lane.

A very inaccurate Xena reference..........2002-03-25
Not a good Xena reference book! This book in very innaccurate. The Xena episode guide is frequently wrong. I don't follow Hercules as much so I can't really comment on the Hercules episode guide. I would not waste my money on this book.
It is one of the most excellent Xena and Hercules Books!.......1999-08-28
I loved the book. It was one the the best! It gave excellent pictures and information!
Good HERC Stuff ...........1999-06-11
I enjoyed this book. Interesting to see both sides in one companion ... Loved the HERCULES information most. XENA ... Sorry, I just don't get where all of the excitement is coming from.
The chronicles of narnia are the best books........1999-04-10
The chronicles of narnia are the best books on Earth because of the magicalness about them. You can almost feel you are in narnia, so I recommend these books to every single person that there is.
This book rocks!!!!!!! You really should read it!!!!!!.......1999-01-29
Zena is simply the best!!!! Herc is okay to, but Zena is way better!!!!! Whoever said that Zena is the most depressing show, doesn't understand the sense of loyaty and compassion that the show brings!!!!! So before you judge make sure you really understand the show and what it's telling us!!!!!!!

Book Description
"Hercules:The Legendary Journeys" first burst onto television screens as a series of five action-packed movies. But unlike previous Hercules movies, these didn't feature togas and flowery language. Instead, the producers created a Hercules for the '90s, a regular guy who just happens to possess super-human strength and regularly fights monsters and evil-doers. The movies quickly became a hit and a series was born. Now more than five million viewers follow the weekly exploits of the legendary hero.
In this official companion to the series, fans of the show get a behind-the-scenes look at what makes "Hercules" so popular. Featuring interviews with the stars and producers; an episode-by-episode guide to the series; a look at the real gods and goddesses behind the myths; dozens of never-before seen photos; and intriguing "Legendary Facts," this companion is a must for fans of all ages.
Be sure to check out Xena: Warrior Princess--The Official Guide to the Xenaverse too!
Customer Reviews:
A superb introduction to a great series!.......2007-05-19
When Hercules:The Legendary Journeys first premiered as a series of movies,no one could imagine that it would become a cult classic! Now,in this official guide to the series, you can find out how it all began and take a look back at those early movies and the show's first three seasons. A followup guide was published in 2004,and together with this one, will provide you with everything you need to know about this fantastic series!
This is the best explanation of H:TLJ I've ever seen.......2000-12-14
Rob Weisbrot is a dedicated Hercules fan who set out to complete his own legendary journey: he wanted to write a book about the most innovative television show to hit the airwaves since Space: 1999 appeared in the 1970s.
A professional historian and teacher, Weisbrot's knowledge of research techniques and ancient mythology combined with his excellent writing skill and fannish interests to provide us with an enchanting tour of the history and universe of one Hercules: The Legendary Journeys.
Interviews with the stars and a detailed knowledge of the episodes provide Weisbrot with all the material he needs to keep the reader turning the pages. The book covers only the first few seasons of what has been hailed as the most popular syndicated action/adventure show of all time. Readers should urge Studios USA to ask Weisbrot to finish what he began.
A Must For Every Fan, but..............1999-01-11
As it is - apart from the Unofficial Companion - the only sourcebook for H:TLJ, it is a must for every fan of the TV series. Aiming at everything you always wanted to know about the series, the characters and the actors, the book contains interviews with everybody from the producers, Kevin Sorbo and Michael Hurst down to the 'smaller' characters. The Companion starts with a general overview about production, casting, special effects and general storyline and ends with a detailed episode guide. The latter gives not only the cast of each individual episode, but also the main actors' thoughts, ideas and approaches to that specific storyline and their character. It is also a great source for those wonderful disclaimers at the end of each show (Season 3).
However, instead of several, generally available pictures, I would have liked to see more photographs of the actors behind the scenes and during filming.
In line with the television series, the book is inconsistent in places and embarassingly full of spelling mistakes. The editorial work on the book was less than accurate and you will find various comments by actors inserted under the wrong episodes.
Also, while filming for Season 6 is starting soon, the Companion only covers the show up to Season 3, missing out some of the best and most interesting episodes.
So one can only hope that a possible 'updated' version will be out soon and that that one will be more accurate!
A Must Have! But ..........1998-12-03
This is a really incredible book for fans of the television show HERCULES: THE LEGENDARY JOURNEYS. Not only are there many details (behind the scenes, production - etc.) but Kevin Sorbo (Hercules) AND Michael Hurst(Iolaus) add their candid thoughts, telling fans how they feel about individual episodes (what they felt worked and didn't work) and the actors hopes for the future of HERCULES and their characters. If there is anything to complain about, it's the fact that the episodes reviewed in this "companion" go to the series' third year while, currently, HERCULES is in its 5th season. Here's hoping there will be an update soon!
Informative, up-close, must have!.......1998-08-07
If you're a fan ofthe hit cult show Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, or Xena:Warrior Princess, or both, this is an absolute must have. Complete with interviews from Kevin Sorbo himself to Alexandra Tydings, this is the other half to the pair of Herk and Xena. The episode guide is complete from season one through season three, and also features an in-depth look at the production team and behind-the-scenes looks. If you're a Herc and/or Xena fan, this is a must have!!

Super Reader.......2007-08-04
When I looked this up the first time, just saw the American edition. The one I found is a puffin, so no doubt that it is a book for kids, from that, and from the length.
No need to bother with these, unless you are a kid, or some uber Herc-nerd.
Harpies, the odd Satyr, and Salmoneus' travelling theatre. The Eye of the Ram is a magic energy blastic rod held by your evil magician type that is part of Salmoneus' troupe.
A Great book, expresses Hercules feelings more than ever!.......1998-10-13
This book is great! It has many funny parts along with exciting fighting. It also expresses how Hercules feels during all of the events, unlike the movies and TV shows. Definitly an mature teen through adult book. It has many hard words and cuss words said by the Narrattor. Overall, I would reconmend this book to anyone that likes Xena, Sinbad, or Hercules.

A great read for all ages!.......2007-05-03
When I first got this book,I wasn't really sure what to expect since it was primarily for ages 9-12. However,I found it to be quite enjoyable with a wonderful lesson to boot:Just because you may look like a geek or nerd, that doesn't necessarily mean that you are one and if people look closer, they'll find that you do have something to offer. I highly recommend this book for anyone of any age-you'll learn what a hero is really all about.

Creating Killer Web Sites (2nd Edition)
ASIN: 0814471390 |
Book Description
Although the shift to e-business may seem absolute, it is astonishing to realize that up to 80 percent of small businesses don't even have Web sites. The market is still ripe for Web consultants, but they need up-to-the-minute information and the most effective tools to stay on top of a very crowded market.
Independent Web consultants must have both technical smarts and sound business skills, and this do-it-all book cuts right to the chase on both fronts. The first section covers 37 business topics, including: financing and fees * guerrilla marketing, promotion, and sales * creating effective materials.
The second section is a primer on the latest and best technologies, including: XML, Voice XML, WAP, and PHP * spiders, robots, cookies, and search engines * chat, conference, and e-mail * Shockwave and Flash * and dozens more.
The book also features three entire chapters of sample letters, ready-to-use forms, sales scripts, and speeches; UNIX command and HTML quick-reference appendixes; and more than 100 screen shots, sidebars, and tips.

Took her course and now I'm buying the book.......2002-05-02
Jessica has taught this subject matter on the HP website. The course was great. I built my first website successfully because of her. Now I'm going professional. I was laid off a few months ago and needed a new career. Jessica gave me confidence in her course and her book gives me all sorts of ideas!
I hope to make my first million soon :-) and it will be all because of Jessica.
Great Book for Trainers, Consultants and Infopreneurs !.......2002-01-11
...
I read this book when it first came out.
I liked the simplicity of it. It has a good recipe for running
your website consulting firm and gives you hardcore technical information and strategy for us computer engineers alike.
I kept this as a basic reference for myself if I needed info
on HTML, VRML, Plugins, Cookies, JPEGS, UUNET and Business Planning.
Enjoy.
...
What a great read!.......1999-09-12
I recently finished the book. What a great read. I zipped through it, and now keep it handy as a reference tool. I espeically found the section on fees and charging for Internet based services to be helpful.
We started in the marketing business, with a specialty in sponsorship -- the ultimate in analog communications. Having built LitLamp.com, we have developed expertise in web strategy, planning, interface with engineers, copywriting and website promotion. We are now developing plans to begin offering these services. Here at LitLamp.com your words have become a part of our daily banter.
There is so little quality information available to web entrepreneurs who are breaking new ground. More sizzle than steak. Your book came at just the right time.
Everything you need to know about starting a running a biz.......1999-02-13
I'm new to this field and was quite confused about how to set up a Web development business. This book really opened the door for me. It not only gave me the fundamentals that I needed to understand Web design fundamentals but it gave me an encyclopedia of knowledge for actually running my business. Stuff like PR, brochures. All of this is quite necessary for a novice like me. It's a great read!
