Book Description

Renowned party animal and phenomenal drummer for The Who, Keith Moon lived fast and died young. Not a typical biography, this compendium of stories, facts, photos, and analysis is divided up by subject and details all aspects of Moon's personal and professional life. Among the topics discussed are his promising film career, his unique drumming style, his obsessions and addictive personality, and a notorious period in the 1970s called "the lost weekend." Interviews and commentary from some of his closest friends and contemporaries, such as Viv Stanshall, Harry Nilsson, Frank Zappa, and Screaming Lord Sutch, and more than 60 photographs fill in the details of Moon's short life.

Customer Reviews:

1 out of 5 stars Embarrassing mess.......2007-06-15

This book is an utter 24 karat mess. The title leads you to think you're about to read a series of funny reports about Moonie's antics but then what you really get is an awfully written and pointless essay about... yes, what is this book all about? Spare your money.

5 out of 5 stars A fantastic and funny account of the charismatic moon.......2005-12-16

Not your usual biography but a book made up of detailed essays. The authors writing at times can be hard to take in but even so the research that has gone into putting such a book together over rides that and makes it a very funny and enjoyable read! A group of stories from friends that spent time with Moon, including hanging with ex-Beatles in California! This truly is a fantastic account of Moon!

2 out of 5 stars State Of Confusion.......2005-12-11

The only reason I gave 2 stars, is because like a test in which there are essay questions, you have to give some credit for writing anything. The other star is for the subject. The book is very hard to follow unless you speak and understand the "King's English". It is mostly a collection of confusing rambling on's and name dropping and such blag. To me, the sentence structure of most of what I read, (to page 112 before I said the hell with it)was too long and filled with confusing verbs, adjectives and things. Most went off into left field. By the time I reached the end of a sentence, I had forgotten what I had read in the first part. I do not consider myself a genius or anything like that, but I do have a good level of reading ability. Maybe this book will get better when I decide to devote more time and effort to decyphering it. It doesnt claim to be a biography and now I see why. I recommend the Full Moon book by Dougal butler or the Tony Fletcher book, Moon: The Life And death of A Rock Legend. This book does look good on my bookshelf though. Cheers!

    Book Description

This book explores the retelling of the life of Moses in three 20th-century American narratives: Moses in Red, by Lincoln Steffens; Moses, Man of the Mountain, by Zora Neale Hurston; and Cecil B. DeMille's film, The Ten Commandments. Wright's analysis reveals that the figure of Moses has strong currency in American culture at many levels.

        Book Description

One of the most critical skills today’s occupational therapists will need to learn and master is documentation. The most successful workbook on the market to educate students and keep professionals sharp is Documentation Manual for Writing SOAP Notes in Occupational Therapy—now available in an improved and revised second edition.
This workbook successfully uses a “how to” approach to explain the critical skill of documentation. By concentrating on the instruction of one essential skill and not diverging into other related areas, this new edition allows occupational therapists to focus completely on writing SOAP notes.
Documentation Manual for Writing SOAP Notes in Occupational Therapy, Second Edition is designed to break down the task of SOAP documentation into manageable units of skill sets. Sherry Borcherding has identified the concepts that are the most difficult to grasp and has incorporated new worksheets to help better understand these important terms.
The new edition of this indispensable workbook provides a better representation of the major practice settings in which occupational therapists are employed, including mental health and pediatric settings. Complementary therapies have also been included with examples of documentation for two common techniques, CranioSacral Therapy and Tai Chi.
New worksheets, revised chapters, and clinical examples ensure that Documentation Manual for Writing SOAP Notes in Occupational Therapy, Second Edition will be the only resource needed by occupational therapy students and professionals.
Features of the Second Edition include:
Documentation skills based on the concepts found in the Occupational Therapy Practice Framework. An explanation of The AOTA’s Guidelines for Documentation of Occupational Therapy Practice, including examples. A brief discussion of HIPAA, billing codes, and their importance in reimbursement. Detachable worksheets that walk students through the skills needed for successful documentation in the client’s health record. A detachable checklist to be used as a quick reference when evaluating your SOAP Note to ensure that all of the essential elements are included. Clinical examples that show a variety of successful wordings for each concept. Reorganized chapters that offer a user-friendly format and logical presentation of material.

When it comes to mastering Adobe GoLive, Adobe GoLive 6.0 Classroom in a Book puts you in a class of your own. This hands-on workbook leads you through a series of lessons that teach you everything you need to know to quickly get to work with the latest version of GoLive, but you learn on your own time, at your own pace. And here's something else that sets it apart from the other GoLive books out there: Adobe's Classroom in a Book is the only one that gives you the official training course created by the company's own team and tested in its classrooms and labs.

Adobe GoLive 6.0 Classroom in a Book makes it easy to learn what you want to know when you need to know it. The Adobe Creative Team breaks down GoLive and Web publishing into clear, step-by-step lessons that cover key concepts such as toolbars, palettes, layout design, the collaborative Adobe Web WorkGroup Server, site architecture, dynamic content creation, wireless-device authoring, Cascading Style Sheets, image maps, and more. You'll never feel overwhelmed by the information. At the end of each chapter, review questions wrap up and reinforce what you've learned, and the accompanying CD-ROM gives you customized files and images designed for use in conjunction with the book's hands-on exercises.
