Customer Reviews:
Please remove "How to Draw" title........2005-04-06
This book should be titled, "A Different Way To Draw Action Dragonball Z" When I bought the series of these books for my children, I had hoped it taught sound and practiced drawing techniques that I wanted them to see, inline with what I taught them. Disappointed to say the least. If you get a chance to look at the book before you buy, just do one thing first... Look at page 16... need I say more.
(ps. the 1 star is for the colouring-in use my youngest gets from it)

A Nice Reader For Young Children.......2005-12-17
Since "Fantastic Four" is rated PG-13, many younger children will not be able to watch the film. This book, a Festival Reader, conveniently packages the beginning of the film into an easily accessible reader for the younger audience. It introduces the children to Mr. Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Human Torch, and the Thing, which is exactly what the title states.
It does briefly mention Dr. Doom, but his character is left for later volumes in this small series. Everything is nicely packaged so that it doesn't come across too strong for young readers.
Recommended to folks with young children with an interest in the "Fantastic Four." Also, it does encourage youngsters to read in order to learn about their heroes. In case you're wondering, the film received its PG-13 rating for violence and some strong language. In fact, take out some of the cursing, and you've got a really good film that teaches audiences about working together and getting along as a family.

Silly, Silly Fun and That's What Counts.......2003-10-14
If you're like me and you hate reading in-depth, analytical reviews of movies -- especially action movies -- then you'll love this book. Julius pulls no punches, and you can tell that he loves these movies; his wit is what saves the book, I think, and makes it fun. Not all movie guides need to be demure and annoyingly analytical.
Julius' reviews of some of the most influential action films -- "Die Hard" and "Lethal Weapon" among them -- simply ooze the enthusiasm that you see comic book geeks like me display when we're met with a new, fantastic action flick. This is a fun, silly book -- it's entertaining, filled with trivia and pictures, and just plain fun to read.
Dumb book about dumb movies.......2000-08-23
If your entire life revolves around action movies chances are (a) you're dumb (b) a virgin or (c) entombed in your own little comic book world. Marshall Julius shows all of these traits in this book. I also suspect that his grasp of beauty anf beauty in film would easily fit onto the back of a postage stamp.
His assertion that 'Singing In The Rain' would have been a better film if it had ended 'in a bloodbath, Gene Kelly's guts exposed in a tchnicolor (sic) flash of violence' is plain stupid. As is his rather immature wish that 'one day all films will have the depth of plot and strength of character' as 'The Texas Chainsaw Massacre'.
To conclude, this book is to serious film literature what Jackie Collins is to highbrow fition. Makes a great doorweight though!
A jet-rocket ride of a guide!.......1998-09-24
You know you're in for he-man reading from the pic of Robocop on the cover! Marshal Julius doesn't just give a high- testosterone rating to a movie if it's JUST action; he weighs the pros and cons of what makes an action film bad or good. If the plot or performances are off-key, he tells you---like his review of "The Chinese Connection" mentions that whereas Bruce Lee is extraordinary, the movie's production values are sub- standard. I'll admit I disagree with Julius' high rating of "Flash Gordon" (with Sam Jones and Max von Sydow), but he's well on-the-mark with the rest of the reviews. And check out the action- star bios peppered throughout!!!
Great fun........1997-08-23
"Vengeful cops, and car chases, lunatic villains
and martial-arts masters, male-bonding, ginfights
and super secret agents, swords and sorcerors,
wartime Nazi-bashing, boys' own adventures, casual
destruction and general death-defiance..." (from the
Introduction).
That's the stuff; over 250 movies reviewed and rated
from one mini-gun to the five-gun action whoppers
(such as RoboCop and Die Hard). From James Bond
to Topper Harley, they're all here in all their
butt-kickin' splendor.
Highly recommended for the action movie buff, or
student of contemporary American culture.

Dino Crisis 2 and Prima's Masterpiece.......2000-09-28
At first I thought the prims series was just some other strategy guide company, but I was wrong. With my buying of the Tomb Raider 1 strategy guide it was proved to be a great company. With the Dino Crisis 1 strategy guide they proved platinum status.Obviously they just get better over time because with the Dino Crisis 2 guide they have become my only strategy guide company to buy from. If you need a good reliable strategy guide for ANYTHING buy from Prima.

Book Description
This text focuses on providing a solid foundation in SolidWorks along with a competency based project approach. Commands are introduced in a step-by-step manner. Each chapter addresses a progressive learning approach, lists desired outcomes and usage competencies, and identifies a project with reflective information on the previous project situation. The book complements the on-line tutorials contained within SolidWorks.
Engineering Design with SolidWorks covers parts, assemblies and drawings. The part section covers all the major solid features in SolidWorks. There are 3 assemblies.
The first assembly, GUIDE-ROD utilizes industry components and simple extruded parts. Individual part drawings and assembly drawings with Bill of Materials are developed for the GUIDE-ROD assembly.
The FLASHLIGHT assembly utilizes 8 parts made up of Extrude, Revolve, Sweep and Loft features. The parts are combined into small subassemblies and the final FLASHLIGHT assembly.
The BOX assembly utilizes a top down assembly modeling approach with layout sketches and parts developed in context. The BOX works through sheet metal features and introduces design tables and configurations.
This edition covers enhancements to the User Interface section, Design Intent area and Sheet Metal features.
The Multimedia CD includes 4 hours of movie files, 1/2 hour on individual feature tips and creation.
Customer Reviews:
missing a piece.......2007-05-18
the product did not come with all of its components, its multimedia cd.
Great engineering/CAD Solidworks getting started guide........2007-01-16
Overall, when considered as an introduction to Solidworks, it does a pretty good job of slowly bringing the student into understanding it. Although, I have found that the manner in which the book goes about teaching is rather slow. I understand why it guides the student step by step by step in order to show them the correct way of doing things, but this quickly gets somewhat boring. But, like I said, overall this is an excellent book to introduce you to the very basics of Solidworks.
Awesome book.......2006-03-01
I started using SolidWorks three months ago. SolidWorks is a great product. I work for a small engineering consulting company that does not have money for training. I'm the only design engineer using SW.
I read numerous book reviews on Amazon. I purchase this book, and it was the best thing that I could have done, to increase my knowledge of the software. I was looking for a hands-on book, that was easy to read and follow, and that would provide me with a solid understanding and foundation. This is the one.
The book layout is awesome. It provides a great step by step approach with tons of pictures to enforce the command structure. Each command is identified in bold letters. It is a great book to learn SolidWorks.
Note: I contacted the authors through their publisher, and they were great in providing additional information to me in a key design area. Thank you. This saved a job for us.
This is a Keeper!.......2005-11-29
I contacted my local SW VAR and requested information on which book is the best to learn SolidWorks. I had the SW Hands on test drive book and wanted a second book that provided additional in depth information. This is a great book. The book is extremely well written, very intuitive and easy to follow. The book covers key features such as: Extruded, Revolved, Dome, Shell, Fillet, Hole Wizard and Circular Pattern to name a few. The section on Sheet metal was engaging. This is a keeper and a great reference book for any designer or engineer that uses SW!
Great Book for 2006.......2005-11-17
This is the first SW book that I purchased. The book is awesome! The layout is simple to follow, it provides great step by step instructions with clear screen illustrations in each area. The included book CD is great to watch and learn the proper design techniques for each feature. I found myself watching the movies on the book's CD as the mating techniques and the number of components became more challenging at my experience level. It's definitely worth a look. It is clear and to the point.
I was informed to purchase this book by my colleagues, which they had used the older 2004 version in the past. This is money well spent. I contacted the authors and requested additional assistance. They were extremely helpful and knowledgeable and supplied me with a wealth of information, contacts and ideas for my project.
