Book Description
"Everybody Wins," with a provocative preface on the role of language in screenwriting is a richly atmospheric, masterfully plotted suspense story, but of course, in the hands of Arthur Miller, it is much more.
Customer Reviews:
Everybody Wins ... and Loses.......2007-05-04
Reading a screenplay is somewhat different from a play. Readers must keep this in mind as they read this Arthur Miller work. The structure of the screenplay slows the pace of the story to some degree, which is one of the main reason that I could not give "Everybody Wins" five stars. It just seemed to move too slow.
A man is framed for murder but has a female acquaintance named Angela Crispini that mysteriously wants to prove his innocence. Why is she so convinced that he is innocent? When a famous private investigator named Tom O'Toole takes an interest in the the mysterious Angela, he sees layers of her story revealed only to have Angela reveal the biggest surprise to Tom's acquaintance Judge Murdoch. In the end, everybody wins in the form of a small victory. The small victory is that the innocent Felix Daniels is set free from prison. The biggest criminals are never brought to justice.
I really do not have a desire to see the movie version of this story because I fear the portrayal of the characters would soil my enjoyment of the story. Even if this story lacks a certain amount of Miller's charm, it is still quality work in written form.

Book Description
Contemporary discourse seems to provide a choice in the way sexual identities and sexual difference are described and analyzed. On the one hand, much current thinking suggests that sexual identity is fluidâsocially constructed and/or performatively enacted. This discourse is often invoked in the act of overcoming an earlier patriarchal era of fixed and naturalized identities. On the other hand, some modern discourses of sexual identity seem to offer a New Age Jungian re-sexualization of the universeââMen are from Mars, and women are from Venusââaccording to which there is an underlying, deeply anchored archetypal identity that provides a kind of safe haven in the contemporary confusion of roles and identities.
In this volume, contributors discuss a third way of thinking about sexual identity and sexual differenceâa direction opened by Jacques Lacan. For Lacan, what we all recognize as sexual difference is first and foremost representative of a certain fundamental deadlock inherent in the symbolic order, that is, in language and in the entire realm of culture conceived as a symbol system structured on the model of language. For him, the logical matrix of this deadlock is provided by his own formulas of sexuation. The essays collected here elaborate on different aspects of this deadlock of sexual difference. While some examine the role of semblances in the relation between the sexes or consider sexual identity not as anatomy but still involving an impasse of the real, others discuss the difference between sexuation and identification, the role of symbolic prohibition in the process of the subject’s sexual formation, or the changed role of the father in contemporary society and the impact of this change on sexual difference. Other essays address such topics as the role of beating in sexual fantasies and jouissance in feminine jealousy.
Literary and gender theorists, as well as psychoanalytic scholars will welcome this insightful collection.
Contributors. Alain Badiou, Elizabeth Bronfen, Darian Leader, Jacques Alain Miller, Genevieve Morel, Renata Salecl, Eric L. Santner, Colette Soler, Paul Verhaeghe, Slavoj Zizek, Alenka Zupancic

Description:
This study relates to dysmorphophobic symptoms in adolescence and their role in the processes of psycho-sexual development. The dysmorphophobias indicate possible fears of dysmorphia, the ''abnormality'' of a part of the body. These fears can relate to all the parts of the body visible to the glance, but adolescent dysmorphophobias are most often associated fantasmatically, with signs of sexual development, even in a very indirect way. Thus we describe the psychotherapeutic path of Lucia, a 17 year old teenager presenting a dysmorphophobia of the hands associated with other phobic symptoms. We describe how her symptoms take on a particular sense in relation to the re-elaboration of her infantile imagoes during the process of formation of her gender-identity. The ''male'' hands of Lucia seem to result from a melancholic identification with her father whom she lost in childhood. In parallel to the analysis of Lucia's psychotherapy, we propose a more general reflection on the relationship between adolescent dysmorphophobias and the processes of psycho-sexual development. Following presentation of the case study, we discuss the concept of ''dysmorphophobia'' and its terminological and conceptual history. We consider the assumption, developed by several authors, according to which the ''dysmorphophobic-inducing'' body could be an intermediary stage between narcissistic and objectal cathexis. We then consider the question of the fetichisation of the body in the dysmorphophobias. Lastly, we conclude with our hypothesis according to which these symptoms can underlie the delay, even momentary, of psycho-sexual development in adolescence.

Customer Reviews:
Good book - a bit of a grind.......2007-09-25
I almost feel silly saying this, because it's probably about the most obvious thing you'd expect from a book about Scalable Cisco Internetworks. This book does an excellent job of preparing CCNA level Network Engineers to take the next step in their careers. It's very difficult to follow some of the subject material if you don't have either a real-life network to practice these things on, or else an exam simulator, like Boson's NetSim. Also, Routing Protocols and Multicasting aren't the most exciting subjects in the world, but the book does a good job of helping to understand them.
Currently, as of 9/25/07, this is pretty much the only book that has the updated BSCI exam information. (642-901) But, just because it's pretty much the only choice right now, doesn't by any means make it a bad one! Any CCNA buying this book would be happy with the level of knowledge that can be gained from this book!
re: Get self study guide instead........2007-09-18
in response to Constantine's review...
this book is not supposed to be your "one stop test prep resource." Cisco Exam Certification Guides in general are what you should use, if you are already familiar with the information. I wouldn't say that the self study guides are a one stop resource either. My advice would be to get both. Use the self-study guide to learn the material, if needed. Then use the exam cert guide to review and test yourself. The question and answer section at the end of each chapter will really test how well you understand the information and not whether you just know some facts. I think this should make perfect sense to anybody that has taken the CCNA exam. How many straight forward questions did you see on the CCNA? ...or did you really need to understand more than one concept to answer the questions? i'm giving this book 5 stars to try and offset Constantine's unfair rating. Rate something based on what it is supposed to be and not what you misinterpreted it to be.
Get self study guide instead........2007-09-14
This book is not detailed enough to be used as a one stop test prep resource. Many of the test topics aren't even approached in it, or aren't explained in enough detail. Self study guide is much better. Get it instead.
Dry but to the point........2007-09-09
Books are easier to read when I can stay awake. I have not found one personal account or anecdote or joke in this book. It's strictly the information needed making it hard to keep my eyes open. The information is very up to date and thorough. To sum it up, it reads like a dictionary.

Customer Reviews:
Okay to use but not as your only book.......2006-05-20
This book does cover the material however, it is organized somewhat funny, a little difficult to follow and the IPv6 section is very weak. If you are new to these subjects this book is not for you. It is easier if you have years of hands on experience or have read other books first. I used it as a complement with the Doyle and new Cisco Press CCIE book plus my own lab to pass the BSCI in a couple of weeks. The CD test engine is too easy. One tip to pass the BCSI, practice, practice, practice.
This book is dated though(2003)compared to BCMSN switching exam which released a new book in early 06 that is excellent.
I used Clair's first book back in 2k and it was great but this one is so so. HTH...
it doesnt cover everthing.........2006-05-06
I did read this book entire, my practice tests score were average of 98 to 100%, but I did not pass the exam.
I noted that some questions of the exam are not covered in this book, such as some concepts of IPV6, RIP and so on. So I think it is a complementary book. Dont try to pass the exam using ONLY this book just like I did.
I will try the exam again in this month, but I will refer to other guides too, such as sybex, just like I did in CCNA preparation.
Required reading.......2006-03-04
Studying this book finally enabled me to pass the BSCI. Make no mistake though; this is not a great book. It is poorly organized, it is full of errors (even ones not stated in the errata - I can rattle off quite a few) and basically hard to understand.
If you are new to the subject, this is not the book you want to read - go buy the Sybex book. If you have read and understand the Sybex book, and want to pass the exam, read this book. I can not tell you what is on the exam (or Cisco will sue me) but I CAN tell you from experience that there is information on the exam concerning material that is covered in this book and NOT in the Sybex book!!
As for those who claim the Sybex book has a better grasp on the concepts, I disagree. Claire Gogh's writing on BGP is hard to wade through, but it is rather obvious that she understands BGP better than the author of the Sybex book.
Good book! - bad news with the enclosed Software.......2006-02-27
The book offers a very good overview about the exam relevant knowledge except multicast where the exam questions were not covered by the books content. A negative expierience was that the original SW which is part of the book was already registered with Boson and that I could not install it till I could reach Boson in US via telephone and explain the thing resulting in a manual unlock procedure. (Bad if you try to test on a weekend)
Good example how to make simple things complicated.......2006-02-02
This book is a good example how to make simple things complicated. It seems author don't have any pedagogical knowledge. Book also contains some serious logical errors.
Average customer rating:
- Erroneous and badly written, not recommended
- Best Book for the 640-901 Exam
- They should have paid more attention to detail

Customer Reviews:
Erroneous and badly written, not recommended.......2004-10-21
BSCI 642-801 is a tough exam and the combination of topics makes it tough to remember everything. This newer Clare Gough book is worse, please do not buy it, get a copy of the CD from someone and practise the questions from the CD.
Clare Gough does not cover NAT or IPV6, and the written text is very dry, and riddled with errors.
I would read Paquet and Teare book on BSCN,(...)Then for IPV6 I would use the web. Finally use the Gough CD to practise questions.
For NAT my recommendation is: Jeff Doyle routing Volume 2, though you do not need to read the whole long winded chapter for the 642-801 requirement.
Final suggestion is make your last minutes notes while reading from all these sources as having all the material in one place for the final study helps.
Best Book for the 640-901 Exam.......2003-09-09
This was a very good book in general. There were some typos. I originally had the Todd Lammle BSCI book but found it did not map to the test objectives very well. My associate had the book and after reviewing it I bought a copy. I used this book, the Cisco BSCN Supplement for IS-IS, Todd Lammle's RouterSim and few resources from the Cisco website to study for the exam. I passed the exam and feel the book sufficiently covered the material on the exam. The 640-901 exam is being replaced by the 642-801 exam. The new exams look like they are focused more on actual configuration and applying concepts rather than the concepts themselves. Good luck in your certification endeavors!
They should have paid more attention to detail.......2003-05-07
This book is another example of a Cisco Press book that was written in a hurry by a group of people that did not communicate nor did they carefully review their material for errors. Some of the router configuration examples are clearly wrong. The attached CD at times does not reflect the written mateial and asks questions that are not covered in the book! As of May 1, 2003, Cisco has announced that the BSCI 640-901 test (This Book!) is being replaced by a new test - BSCI 642-901. Hopefully the author(s) will correct all of their errors in the next edition for the new test. Good luck on you CCNP/DP Certification
