A great book about movie scenes you normally won't see........1999-06-23

This book is magnificent! It tells of the history of movies that were censored because the were too violent or to sexy. The book covers movies from the beginning of the cinema up to the 1970's. The book's pages are also covered in screen shots of the cut scenes from the movies. Alot of them contain nudity, so don't let the kids get ahold of it. If you are a movie buff like me, then you need this book! It definitely the best book I have ever bought!

This book opens the doors on what's been left on the cutting room floor -- and was deleted from your favorite movies -- ranging from Dr. Strangelove to ClockWork Orange and more...Censored by Hollywood modesty codes...sabotaged, politics and titillation....cut on violence and in retreat...Censorship began with the creatio of the cinema in 1890-'s according to this author...a flash of thigh and hidden hair in the Can Can...the dancing of the whirling veils of Salome to the first keyhole shot for peeping toms back in 1913-- a harem in Man Woman and Marriage...coy undraping of nymths....wow was the old Hollywood wild...it's a great book...from black and white photos to classics like Emmannualle which is known for its erotica to Flash Gordon and it's rip off FLESH GORDON....unusual book should be on any Hollywood fan's bookshelf....

More than a little disappointed..........2005-11-04

I've been a devoted US Weekly reader since 2001, and I was eagerly anticipating the release of this book because it hoped it would contain photos that had never-before-been-seen by me. I will admit to being disappointed, as the photos in this book are not nearly the "greatest celebrity photos" taken over the history of US Weekly as I understood it to be, but perhaps more like the "greatest celebrity photos" taken over the past two years. Throughout the entire book, there were perhaps five photos that I could not recall seeing in the past two years. A big disappointment, because I truly believed that this book would be a treasure trove of photos from times that I do not recall, like the Brad and Jen hookup and wedding, but it wasn't. After spending no more than 30 minutes flipping through this book and reading the captions, I retired the book to my book shelf, where it will undoubtedly sit for years while the photos contained gather dust in my mind. I do also own the US Weekly Guide to Dressing Like the Stars, and this book contains many more original--and not so recent--photos.

The lesson plans in Interdisciplinary Learning Through Dance: 101 MOVEntures are broad (covering six disciplines) and deep (101 plans in all). Leap Into Learning is subtitled, Teaching CurriculumThrough Creative Dramatics and Dance and that's exactly what it will prepare you beautifully for. The book itself is a creative cornucopia of primary activities, games, exercises, and innovative methods of bringing K-7 young people into high gear for learning with their bodies minds and peers. Teachers who apply the procedures detailed in Leap Into Learning will find a stimulated fast-learning group pf students reflecting enthusiasm and excitement that results from this excellent work. A service of the book is the host of curriculum class plans for attaining the creative participation of students as a method of mastering story and performance techniques, while mastering such diverse subject matters as Social Studies, Science, and Math. You will never have a dull class if you utilize Leap Into Learning. I only wish I'd had Bissinger and Renfro for my K-7 teachers. Finally, there is a resource I can show my boss which explains the importance and proper use for email marketing. Bill Nussey goes through the whole marketing process, and he stresses the importance for strict internal policies to manage the programs.

He really hits the nail on the head with his email brand value discussion - I don't think most companies even realize that they're irritating their customers with useless promotional messages. His premise that email hinges on relevancy rather than frequency is presented time and time again through several real-world case studies
