"Simply the BEST!".......2006-02-05
BRAVO! and BRAVO! again. I read it a long time ago, when it was just published, and have learned a lot about Marilyn Monroe through this great author's knowledge. A treasure for the reader who is looking for true facts and not like fiction "a la'June DiMaggio & Co! Perfect also for fans who want to do their own private Marilyn Monroe and visit places where she lived and worked. Wonderful!!!

"The people made me a star." Marilyn.......2004-07-07
This is a very good effort of pullimg together many facts about Marilyn. Her movies, books friends, photographers, lovers, fan clubs, web sites,etc.,etc.It is a very good collection of information and as a reference book ,very handy to have for further reading about her and her career.
It does not, however;shed any real light on Marilyn herself;but tells you where to find just about anything that is available about her.
There is very little depth about anything covered in the book;but taking it for what was intended; a collection of information,it is very good. The photos are poorly chosen and even more poorly printed;except for the cover. But then again, this is not a photo album, but does reference the many excellent ones that have been published.
It is not a biography;it is a reference book.
If one were to looking for one book to read on Marilyn and her career;this would not be the one to get. However; if you've seen most of her movies, read several books on her and been treated to a few of the excellent photo books;you'd probably find this book very valuable.Anyway, that's my take on this book.
The Ultimate Marilyn.......2000-02-28
This is such a good book. I had a report on Marilyn Monroe and this helped out so much! This had pictures which were beautiful pictures. Some things that were in this book were family, friends, husbands, lovers, teachers, mentors, rivals, enemies, agents, publicists, studio heads, producers, directors, writers, photographers, costume designers, gossip, scandals, innuendo, intrigues, threats, rumors, conspiracy theories, murder or suicide, books, biographies, movies, stage plays, songs, imitators, impersonators, worshippers, detractors, fan clubs, web sites, and much more!
I found this biography to be dull and boring to read........1999-10-18
The Ultimate Marilyn is a biography which is filled with information. It has facts, myths, and theories. However, it is also boring to read. Unlike most Marilyn biographies which I have read, it is not set up like a story. It merely has short blurbs on each aspect of her life.
one of the top 10 books on Monroe--Cunningham really does it.......1999-08-07
The book market is flooded with Monroe works, as everyone knows. However, there are several "must have" volumes, and Ernest Cunningham's work is definitely on that list. The book provides the reader with a wealth of information, divided into easily understood sections which, in turn, will lead the reader to virtually every book ever printed dealing with this screen goddess. Cunningham's research is both broad and impeccable, not duplicated anywhere else on the market. His writing is clean and clear with a tongue-in-cheek touch that is entertaining while also being informative. This book is truly "essential" for any Monroe fan or collector and would also be of high interest for the less devoted who simly want to know a bit more about the "why" and "how" of the Monroe legend.

Very Little Insight -- Mostly Anecdotes about Pro Golfers.......2005-02-15
I got this book on Feb 9 2005. Finished reading it on Feb 11, 2005.
While the book claims to provide insight into "how to go low", it really doesn't. If you're interested in a book that talks about Pro Golfers scoring low, with no insight into the mental process, then this book is for you.
I was disappointed by this book. It was not thought provoking.
Will help on the mental side of to shoot low scores.......2004-12-12
This book helped me to have the proper mental outlook on how to shoot low scores. I started to release the possiblity in myself on how to play better golf and not listen to any negative thoughts. I also really loved---The Ultimate Golf Instruction Guide: Key Techniques for Becoming a Zero Handicap Golfer or Better by Patrick Leonardi, isbn is 1933023090. Leonardi's book showed me great technique that were non-conforming to what else is taught on the market. It's very easy to follow and shows results instantly (Highly recommended.) For example, before using The Ultimate Golf Instruction Guide: Key Techniques for Becoming a Zero Handicap Golfer or Better, I never hit more than 5 greens in regulation in one round. After reading this book and applying its techniques to my swing, I now have can hit at least 9 greens in regulation on average. Patrick Cohn's book helped me to mentally transform my mind from amateur thinking to professional thinking on the golf course.
Simply The Best.......2001-05-20
I have hacked around the course for years, took lessons, bought new equipment, read the books by Harvey Penick and others, all to no avail. I saw an article about this book, so I ordered it ... I studied the information in it, and did my best to apply the techniques and remedys outlined in it. Here is the result- on Friday at my course I shot 105. After reading this book, I went back on Saturday and shot 89! My advice to all is to buy this book, study it, and then get ready to play the best golf of your life!
Help yourself get out of the way to low scoring.......2001-05-02
As an aspiring pro I have read and listened to many when it comes to the mental aspect of golf. Dr. Cohn gives step by step instruction on how to help keep the most important part of you playing the game, your mind. From preshot routines to mid round thoughts he offers something for everyone. Whether you are trying to break 90 or 70 the mental side is so important and Dr. Cohn has very understandable and easy to implement strategies to help you achieve your goals. After finishing the book I matched my best round for this year.
If YOU ARE SERIOUS ABOUT GOLF, YOU MUST READ THIS BOOK!!.......2001-04-19
Dr. Cohn's, "Going Low," is another great golf book to add to your collection. This book goes beyond the basics of golf to the pinnacle of success in life. Going Low has not only helped me break through my expectations of scoring but it has helped me gain the mindset to take a good round all the way to the clubhouse. Step by step lessons will guide you to a personal best you never thought possible. No matter how low you go or how low you think you might be able to go this book will assist you on going even lower. I recommend Dr. Cohn's best book ever to all levels of golfers so they to can obtain the mindset needed for achieving their personal best round.

Do you have a game plan? "I do now!".......2007-05-30
Adults always say things like this or that book changed my life. I just thought it was there way of tricking us into reading because I never picked up a book "that I could not put down".
That changed when I borrowed this book. This book made me see alot of things more clear. Like how I really do not have a "game plan". I am "only" 13 but I am very very different now that I have a game plan in sports and life.

I can tell that Mr. Napoleon wrote this book from the heart. It takes a special person to share your personal experiences with the world. Mr. Napoleon is a special person, this is why his book is a great book to read. If you read it, you will learn something from it!!!

A good book could change your life!!!.......2007-03-07
When you read a good book, it should change your way of thinking or your way of viewing things. When I read Dream Real, it changed my life! This book made me realize some of the mistakes I was making with school. This book made me realize some of the mistakes I was making with sports. I was putting sports before my school work. Now, I realize that school is more important then sports. If I do well in school, that can take me just as far as doing well on the basketball court or the football field. My dream was to play pro basketball in the NBA. Now, I also want to be a doctor if I don't make it to the NBA. In order to become a doctor, school must come first. I never looked at it that way before I read Dream Real. Now, I know that school must come first and basketball comes second. Reading Dream Real, changed my life.

I can Dream Real about my future!.......2007-02-22
I play Pop Warner football in Newark, N.J. My coach gave this book Dream Real to my mother during the football season. I just got the chance to read it. Once I started reading it, I did not want to put the book down. I started to dream about playing football at the professional level. I really love playing football. My mother always talks about me doing well in school. After reading this book, I know how important school is to my future. Growing up in Newark is hard. I understand what Mr. Napoleon is talking about in his book. Growing up in the city is hard. Now when I think about sports, I will also think about school. I will work on doing better in school. I need to be smart to get what I want in life in the future.

This book changed my life!!!.......2007-02-13
My name is Mark Tomblum. I am in the 7th. grade. I live in a small town 5 miles outside of Dallas, Tx. I never really liked reading books and writing to much. I do like school but not reading or really writing. I go to an after school program and one of my teachers had this Dream Real book. She read a few pages to me. I wanted to read the book myself. My teacher let me take the book home. After reading this book I must say that it made me like reading. I really liked this book. I can say it changed my life. Football is big in the state of Texas. I want to be a success in life. I want to move on and play college football. Now I know that I must do good in my studies if I want to play football in high school and in college. I am using Dream Real for my book report.

Reveals the viciously competitive side of sports recruitment.......2004-12-13
Going Pro: Scholarships, Student Athletes And The Money is the testimony of a professional journalist who decided to search out the truth concerning the efforts, the successes, the failings, and the odds of student athletes striving to turn pro. His revelations are ominous - in the words of one of his interviewed subjects, with proper training and preparation, a student athlete has greater odds of one day owning a professional team than playing on one. Going Pro reveals the viciously competitive and even corrupt side of high school and college sports recruitment, from false birth certificates used to give kids can have an age advantage over others in their league, to how the shady practice of fudging athlete's grades hurts not only the school and the students who work for their grades, but especially the athletes themselves - who are later severely hampered in the real world due to their lack of education. Stressing that there will always be those who seek to exploit student athletes for fanaticism or for profit, and that a good education is not only vital - it is the safety net for our children's future, Going Pro is an absolutely compelling read cover to cover, packed with anecdotes, statistics, and the cold hard truth about youth sports. An absolute "must-read" for high school students dreaming of becoming a sports professionals and their families.
Going Pro or Going Broke?.......2004-09-14
In today's world of multi-million dollar sports contracts and product endorsements, it's the dream of millions of kids to one day "go pro." In reality, less than one percent of high school athletes make it to professional sports. But what happens to the teenage superstars who forego a college education and turn pro, only to have their sports careers cut short by injury or unforeseen circumstance? Are young athletes being exploited by a system that generates millions of dollars at their expense? Big money can also bring problems to those who play well and thrive in their sport for years, as many fall prey to crooked managers, greedy family members, and untrustworthy friends. Author Donald Moss, a veteran sports journalist who left his newspaper job to travel the country researching this book, poses hard questions to athletes and their parents, teachers, coaches and agents. He acknowledges the complexity of the problem, pointing to the disparity of educational and socio-economic opportunities, questionable recruiting practices, and a TV audience hungry for the next Tiger Woods or Michelle Kwan. He laments the push by scouts and parents for kids to concentrate on a sports career, attending summer camps and often sacrificing a "normal" childhood. In this "just do it" society intoxicated by unlimited potential, sometimes "NO" is the best thing a young superstar can hear, says Moss. He champions the high school and college coaches and athletic directors who demand both scholastic and athletic excellence, and urges young people to utilize the safety net of a good education. What happened, he asks, to the days when kids played sports just for fun?

Here's a great way to feel better about getting older. You can save alot of money with the tips in this book. Some you may already know about but there's bound to be many you haven't heard of before. I am a legal aid attorney and owner of an online medical supply and equipment business and would recommend this book to my clients and customers. Of course, with any book like this, information can quickly become outdated so calling first is a good idea.

Great Deals For Those Who Have Reached The "Big Five O".......2005-01-11
No age group represents such an enormous market of potential consumers than those over the age of fifty.
According to author Joan Rather Heilman, author of Unbelievably Good Deals and Great Adventures That You Absolutely Can't Get Unless You're Over 50 (2005-2006),
more than a quarter of the population of the United States is over 50, and by the 2020 it is expected to reach one third.
It is little wonder why the business community actively courts this sector of the population that controls most of the wealth of the USA.
If you are one of the lucky ones who have reached the "big five O," hold onto your wallets before you fork out money for hotels, car rentals, tour packages, college courses, airfare, entrance admission to parks, restaurants, buses, trains, sports activities, and even shopping.
Heilman passes out all kinds of "goodies," as if we are children in a candy shop, with hundreds of tips as to how to stretch your vacation dollars.
Dividing the book into twenty chapters, the author presents excellent insights pertaining to various value-added possibilities. However, as stated by the author, it is essential that if you are over fifty, you must very often ask for these discounts. Most vendors and their representatives will not voluntarily offer them to you.
Most of the book is devoted to savings the over fifty crowd can enjoy from the travel industry. Realizing that this sector of the population is the most ardent travelers, it is only logical that the travel industry would offer all kinds of price reductions.
Heilman details the offerings of the various airlines with their names, phone numbers and web sites. Similarly, discounts pertaining to hotels, motels, car rental companies are listed.
Are you looking for some alternative lodging? Did you know that Del Webb Sun Cities, the largest builder of active communities offers a Vacation Getaway program, where you can enjoy low-cost, short vacation stays so that you can sample the lifestyle to see whether you would like to move in? Bear in mind, however, that in order to qualify one partner in a visiting couple must be over the age of 55.
In addition, the reader will discover all kinds of deals concerning trains, buses and boats pertaining to North America and elsewhere. Companies such as Amtrak, Via Rail in Canada, Greyhound Lines, train passes in Britain, France and other European countries offer some kind of a discounts, although requirements as to age may differ.
If you are a sport's enthusiast, Heilman presents a comprehensive rundown of assorted clubs, tours, associations, and other institutions that offer different vacation possibilities as skiing, cycling, walking, golfing, even softball, where special privileges and discounts are offered. Names, phone numbers, and website addresses are included.
In addition to being a nifty addition to one's library, this reader friendly book would make a great birthday gift for anyone celebrating his or her big five O.
