Nazi Propaganda Films: A History and Filmography

Hitler and the Nazis saturated their country with many types of propaganda to convince the German citizenry that the Nazi ideology was the only ideology. As Joseph Goebbels, who was in charge of propaganda for Nazi Germany, said, "The essence of propaganda consists in winning people over to an idea so sincerely, so vitally, that in the end they succumb to it utterly and can never escape from it." One type of propaganda that the Nazis relied on heavily was cinematic.

This work focuses primarily on Nazi propaganda feature films and feature-length documentaries made in Germany between 1933 and 1945 and released to the public. Some of them were Staatsauftragsfilme, films produced by order of and financed by the Third Reich. The films are arranged by subject and then alphabetically, and complete cast and production credits are provided for each. Short biographies of actors, directors, producers, and other who were involved in the making of Nazi propaganda films are also provided.

amazing stories in spanish!.......2007-09-22

The poems, excerpts, and short stories in this book are extremely enjoyable. Many of the stories in this book I have also read in English, but it is always a pleasure to read them in their original language. Recommended for AP or advanced Spanish classes.

A fun way to make a living........1998-11-29

The introduction includes: In this book you will learn everything you need to know to share in the joy of operating a successful birthday party business...You don't need to be a polished magician or seasoned entertainer..." In addition to chapters on getting started, working with kids, business basics, direct marketing and publicity/advertising/materials/ agencies, there are separate discussions of magic, clowning, storytelling, puppetry, face painting, catering and special theme parties and party games. The authors (seven in all) are experienced birthday party entertainers. Hal Diamond, a full-time Washington area magician who wrote a monthly column in Laugh Makers magazine for many years, largely was responsible for the pages on magic. Steve Kissel, who sponsors annual Comedy College conventions, contributed to the balloon figures chapter. They advised on getting the business various marketing strategies while Diamond covered direct marketing. You get a wealth of solid information: a sample telephone conversation with a prospective client, why you shouldn't arrive ahead of your stated time, what to do during the party anad how to get paid, including a sample contract. There are instructions for constructing some props. Children's entertainers, as well as those who aspire to enter the field, will benefit from the business and performing suggestions. Highly recommended.

Not helpful supplement to actual textbook.......2007-09-13

This book claims that you will "never hightlight again," but actually all this is is a glossary-like listing of vocabulary words from each chapter of the actual textbook. The general point of the information from the actual text does not come through at all. If you are using the actual textbook for a class, you will not understand the material if do not read the actual text. If you already bought the textbook, this is not a necessary (or even helpful) supplement.

Good overview on what you need to consider before you start your own business.

The presentation of this book is excellent; It holds the reader's interest quite well. However, despite a recent "update", it shows it's age when the author regularly goes off on dot-com tangents, bringing the internet up in contexts that I believe the last few years have proven are not viable. Good grief, ppl. This isn't freaking 1997! We need a business text, not the wet dreams of a bunch of computer geeks turned businessmen! Anyways, if you are looking for a text with a lot of depth, look elsewhere. This book is to business textbooks what Quickbooks(c)(R)(TM) is to accounting software. In short, don't waste your money, unless you need it for a class. If so, be happy. If your prof teaches out of this, your tests will be very easy.
