About the Editors

Donald Moss, Ph.D., is Director of Chronic Pain Services at West Michigan Behavioral Health Services.

Angele V. McGrady, Ph.D., is a Professor of Psychiatry and Adjunct Professor of Physiology and Molecular Medicine at Medical College of Ohio.

Terence C. Davies, MD, is Chairman of Family and Community Medicine at Eastern Virginia Medical School.

Ian Wickramasekera, Ph.D., is a Professor of psychology at Saybrook Graduate School, Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at Stanford Medical School, and Professor of Family Medicine at Eastern Virginia Medical School.

Destined to be a Classic.......2003-01-18

This book is a real treasure trove of information by the world's leaders in the different areas it covers. It's humble title belies the rich lode of distilled wisdom it's editors have brought together. If your goal is to have a handy, easily accessible source for information on mind-body approaches to a plethora of different diagnostic categories, this book is the most authoritative source I've ever seen. It has a wealth of information on mind body, biofeedback, applied psychophysiology, self regulation and hypnosis approaches. While there are other, less current books available covering similar ground, this one does it in a practical, economical manner, timewise, getting to the point. covering the bases soyou are not developing a relationship with the book-- just getting the info you need to do your job or better understand how to more effectively and appropriately make referrals.
As the current public information officer for the Association for Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback, with 30+ years in the field, I consider myself an expert on who's who in the field. And this is one book that is full of the very best experts in their very specific areas.

The book is well organized into three parts with each part providing the details of telling the reader how to structure an organization to effectively plan, prioritize, and execute "the right projects the right way". Another excellent book by Paul C. Dinsmore and his co-author Terence J. Cooke that is well worth adding to your librabry.

I had the opportunity to review this book before its release as a member of the review team. While most project management books focus on best practices on project execution this book addresses some fundamental questions on ensuring that the organization also works on the right projects integrating portfolios, programs and projects. It contains some valuable results of surveys conducted by Human Systems in six countries with insights on successful governance and project sponsoring.

Great Music, Great Price.......2006-01-08

First, I'll say I knew about this music before I purchased the book on Amazon, so there were no surprises here.
I had sight read some duets back in college and remembered the Dvorak being very unusual and very folkish. I found this edition that has both complete works and I love it.
If you've never owned a Dover edition before--I'll warn you that the printing is not as easy to read as some more expensive editions, but you get alot of book for your money with Dover and I find this one easy enough to read.

This is a great book in all aspects and especialy the clan 'mech pictures. the pictures are 1D because, standing from a role play look at things, no body could get a picture out of thease 'mechs because the 'mechs are total mysterys. i wish they would, however publish a book on clan weaponry and technologys standing from a clan warriors point of veiw.

Origional 3050 TR.......1998-08-05

I haven't picked up the revision of this book, but I like the 3050 origional. The clan mech pictures are disapointing, and the picture of the AS-7 K Atlas is bad compared to the one in the 3025 revised edition. The commentary on the mechs are a little disapointing, but anyone new to battletech, or any fan what-so-ever should pick this book up. For any MW2 fans, this is a must get.

I love the battle tech game, and mech warrior computer games, and this is very helpfull. It shows the new clan mechs, I.S. mechs, and vehicles. It's fairly good, but hasn't any color photos like TRO:3058. Thats why I gave it an eight. If you're a battle tech maniak like me, and you play games right when the clan invasion started, this is the book for you.

If you play the Clans, you NEED this book. Great data on all the major Clan 'Mechs. Some say it's not as good as TR3025 or TR3060. The books cannot be compared. 3025 was IS only. 3060 included a whole lot of Level 2.5 tech, and introduced ProtoMechs. But 3050 was just 'Mechs, Clan and IS. The new IS Mechs aren't that great, and some aren't well thought out, but you must remember that at this time 100% of FASA's creativity was directed toward the Clans.

The Optimistic Jew.......2007-08-31

By varying accounts there are 25-30 million free agents at present in the United States. Most of these work from home. Add millions of micro-businesses and one comes to the conclusion that the 20th century will be known as the first and last century in which most working people were salaried. Up until the 20th century most working people were small farmers, merchants and independent professionals. If present trends continue - and there is every reason to believe they will - then by the middle of the 21st century most working people will be self-employed in one form or another. This will have revolutionary impact on politics, tax and social policy and the economic balance of power. Cultural attitudes that encourage innovation and risk-taking will have tremendous advantages in this emerging reality. This is why I claim that: "No people on earth (referring to the Jews) are better prepared by virtue of education, temperament and historical adaptability to embrace the challenges of the 21st century". This book provided me with much of the information that enabled me to open my own book "The Optimistic Jew" with the above lines.

SOCIAL COMMENTARY DISGUISED AS A HOW-TO GUIDE.......2007-04-25

Free Agent Nation by Daniel H. Pink is not entirely what it seems.

Daniel Pink is a former speech writer for Al Gore. He wrote for him when Al Gore was serving as Vice President, but not during the campaign for president.

When Mr Pink left the White House and became, as it were, a Free Agent, he was surprised at the number of people who earned income from running their own small business. It became apparent to him that if the Republican Party was the party of big business and the Democratic Party was the party of labor unions, then the growing demographic of the self employed had no real representation.

Therefore, Mr Pink explored who these people were, what they were doing, and what they needed. Of course, Mr. Pink is no economist or statistician. Therefore, his analysis seems a bit heavy on the anecdotal. Likewise, this is not a how to book that will tell you step by step what needs to be done to start up your own business.

Regardless, this is an interesting book that explores a growing social phenomenon of the post-industrial world.

If you've been thinking of going out on your own, Daniel Pink will motivate you. Without writing a motivational book at all, he has succeeded in showing the reader why being a Free Agent is the way to go in the new economy of the 21st Century.

Salarymen can learn something too.......2006-10-24

In 2006 we are way past the industrial age, and especially so in the TV and entertainment business. Our products are at the forefront -- but what about our ways of working? This book mostly addresses how people work as independents, but has a lot one can learn for how the local and multi-national work environment could be configured better. It's a bit U.S.-centric, but other countries, especially in hi-tech, are not far behind.
