This book was easy to read, the author has a real down to earth approach. Her tips were common sense, but it was nice to have them all in one place and the hit list in the back is like my new phone book. Loved this book.

This book is straight forward, funny and most importantly it WORKS!!!! I've tried a few of her tips and I met a few celebs myself. Be sure to check out the back of the book which includes pages and pages of contact information for your favorite celebs and sports teams.

The Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis is one of the most beautiful works ever for string orchestra. Anyone with an inclination towards Ralph Vaughn Williams or just English music would love this piece. The score is easy to read and the 1st and 2nd orchetras and the solo string quartet are easily distinguished.

I've known this book for over thirty years. Kennedy approachesVaughan Williams's catalogue both widely and deeply, with plenty ofmusical examples. Since I'm a Vaughan Williams headbanger, a book like this is my equivalent of hagiography. Kennedy assumes (correctly) that Vaughan Williams is one of the major composers of this century, and not just in England, and thus discusses works in a clear-eyed way, without special pleading, emotional ginger-up, or hysterical proselytizing. He gives us the musical "facts" of a work and shows, in purely compositional terms, why it's wonderful -- the most convincing argument of all. I've almost worn out my copy through reading and re-reading. When I listen to a Vaughan Williams work, I usually have the book handy. A classic of music writing.--Steve Schwartz

Vaughan Williams was one of the most significant English composers of this century. Much from his prodigious output has entered the standard repertoire, and he is well-known for a number of major works: the Tallis Fantasia, Serenade to Music, and the Fifth Symphony, to mention only three. Here is an entirely novel view of Vaughan Williams, his music, and his life. Using techniques originated in his Elgar: A Life in Photographs, Jerrold Northrop Moore has drawn photographs from family albums (many hitherto unpublished), from the great photographic artists of the earlier twentieth century, and from newspaper and magazine files to build a fascinating illustrated portrait of the composer. The visual images are set with captions, many of them quotations from Ursula Vaughan Williams's unique biography, RVW. Each layout has been carefully built up to set a scene, establish an emphasis, and often to cast lines of influence over many years in a composer's life. Jerrold Northrop Moore's work has had the benefit of close consultation with the composer's widow, who has written a preface.

Great Gift for Poker Lover.......2007-09-20
I got this for my husband and he hasn't stopped reading it. He will only pause to tell me something he thinks I might want to hear. 8-) I'm not a poker person, but with all the Poker on TV that I've seen (because of my husband) and listening to him endlessly talk about it, I think if these books have kept his attention the way they have, they must be good.
I don't know if that helps you but knowing my hubby, anything that pulls him away from playing poker must be good.

As I said, this set looks great on my "poker books shelf" :) But aside that, it's a great read. Even the black book with many interesting details about poker. Green book is well written but my favorite is the blue book. It was so valuable to me to have a free ride threw profesional's poker mind. Highly recommend it.

I have read 15-20 poker booksa and these are among the best I have read in a long time. Phil's dedication to the game and his committment to keep learning is well communicated in an easy to read style. It keeps you entertained and makes you feel ready to be more aggressive with a better understanding of what winning poker is about.

EXCELLENT trio of books for novice to expert. Phil does a great job of explaining as well as challanging you to think. your game will definately improve after this book. Put it together with Dan Harringtons 3 books and you can't find a better poker combo period. 2 contrasting style of players but overall the same message. Just a great trio of books.

This is a handy reference on different poker games for Dealer's Choice night. It's not exhaustive (several of our favorites aren't in it, though similar ones are).
Great book for the home game player!.......2005-06-29
I bought a copy to take to my weekly (for over seven years) poker game. We loved it! Most of our favorite dealer's choice games were in there, although the rules were often a little different. We enjoyed leafing through and picking out new games. We loved playing the old games "by the book." There are loads of ideas with 90 games described inside. I was forced to leave my copy there, to use regularly, so I'm shopping for an extra copy. I've bought several other books that described dealer's choice games, but none as thorough as this one. Tips, strategies, quotes, and loads of games. I'd have given it 6 stars out of 5, if that were possible!

It clearly explains Dealer's Choice games even for the
novice players and the more experienced players used it to choose
games they'd never tried before. Spiral binding a plus. We had a blast!

A complete waste of money...........2006-03-27
If you are wanting to read a sales commercial during each chapter written, then buy this book. By the time I realized what each chapter was doing (about half way through), I merely began to gleem over the remaining chapters just to verify all was indeed a sales pitch of Agora Finacial services prior to throwing the book in the trash. Now I have never thrown a book in the trash, much less ever given an online review, however the book does not explain any "how to's", other than buying into Agora's services to obtain the 'how to' intelligence - I feel it's unethical to have to 'pay' for an infomercial especially without that issue being disclosed.

Knowing that it is published by Agora, I won't even bother reading the book even if it comes for free. Agora (including Taipan newsletter), are the guys that use sharp copy writers and fictitious names and are catering to the gullable through mass mail "exclusive" offers. Stay away from it. A good chance that this book is the worst investment you make and you can't even take a put option on it!

Great Read for Any Trader .......2006-01-20
I'm rather new to the investment arena and this book is exactly what I needed to get me on the path to becoming a more successful trader. I've read a lot of investing books and each one showed me how to make profits, but only with one trading system. If the market changed, I was going to lose money. With Hot Trading Secrets, Christoph's 13 systems are really giving me an edge on the market by offering various options for any situation. I highly recommend it for traders at any level.
