this book is packed with information. Don't be fooled by the number of pages. It's like the information sheets that we used to be allowed to take into exams in university. Great value for the price.

This book in DENSE. The author crammed lots of information on very few pages. This book, while it has "cheat sheets" , is not for the true beginner or someone with a mind to dabble and just have fun. If you are graph and chart oriented, this is for you.
The author is very quick to send his product and it meets and excedes the description provided.

I have been looking for a guitar theory book like this for years!!! The book is JAM-PACKED with information. It is well-written and easy to understand, and it covers every guitar theory topic in one easy-to-use book. Given all of the areas is covers, it should be a much thicker book, but the author makes efficient use of space without making the book seem too cluttered or confusing. Undoubtedly the best I've seen. This book is the standard by which all other guitar theory books should be judged.

This book is just what I needed to shake the dust off my guitar knowledge. Concise information that is pertinent to guitar-related music theory. This information enables the user to teach him/herself at their own pace. Going to start scheduling some practice time with myself, and this book will defintely help out.

I am not an accomplished guitarist (I play at an intermediate level) so I need all the help I can get. This book is great for everyone except, perhaps, the novice guitarist. It sets forth chord progressions and gives examples of well known songs that use the progressions. The book is accompanied by a cd which illustrtates the progressions. One thing the book does not do is show you how to play the chords so you might need to have a basic book on how to play chords handy as a reference.
Every rock guitarist knows how simple some of the best chord progressions are. If you can play a simple I VIminor IV V, you can play literally hundreds of classic oldies from ballads, such as "In the Still of the Night," to upbeat rockers such as "Runaround Sue." Remove the VI minor and you get another, classic three chord progression. But, there are many other great rock progressions, some surprisingly simple, others less so, and this book explains them. Also, the book helps to understand the theory of chord progressions so you can play them in different keys.
Knowing chord progressions is important for rhythm guitar but even some lead guitar relies on chord progressions, i.e, not all lead guitar comprises playing riffs. So this book is essential for lead guitarists as well as rhythm guitarists. An early example of sort of a "rhymth/lead" would be Buddy Holly playing "Peggy Sue" on his stratocaster. He varied the order of the I IV V chords (he played in the key of A so the chords he used were A D E). However, there are many more advanced and complex examples of chord progressions constituting lead guitar.
This book will be very helpful to everyone from someone just barely beyond the most basic skills to fairly advance guitarists. I recommend this book and cd highly.
Advanced book on song's chord constructions.........1999-12-17
Very good book covering the many chord constructions and progressions of mostly rock songs. The author assumes you are past the basics of knowing how to play guitar/musical instrument and concentrates instead on chords and progression & playing them, giving a good mental framework for playing and learning/figuring out songs. More descriptions would help since the book seems more like a collection of chord structures and progressions. Make sure you get the CD that comes with the book. More on songwriting/songwriters would be nice. If you're beyond the basics, get this. You won't regret it.

Not oversized grids.......2007-08-23
There are a ton of Sudoku books out there. I bought this one because I was looking for over-sized grids. The write-up stated: "JUMBO SUDOKU 2 has oversized grids so you have extra room to help you solveits a real treat for puzzle lovers!" But this is not true. There are generally two puzzles per page, so they are in fact smaller than Total Sudoku which has only one puzzle per page. Other than that, both the puzzles and the instructions in the front are good.

I am a Sudoku addict and really enjoyed this book. I have since ordered several more. Some of the puzzles are difficult, but they keep me on my toes.

From early on it was clear that he had a gift for writing, and his time in the army during the Spanish-American War and World War I gave him plenty to write about. Kyne's novels include The Three Godfathers (1913) and Cappy Ricks (1916).

Blue Vasers Needed.......2007-07-26
This story of getting a blue vase while facing almost insurmountable difficulties is a wonderful, inspiring, and educational tool. It is well written. It can be used in almost any setting to encourage the reader to accomplish what seems impossible to accomplish. I first heard the story 35 years ago and have told it at least one hundred times. I finally found the original source and purchased it. After reading it, I have already loaned it to others and encouraged them to buy and mark their own copy. It's a great book for business, for school officials, and just about any setting! Buy it and read it!

Short book that has a good moral. The writing style is very dated, and may be a turn off to some (it almost was for me).
You can read the whole book in under an hour, and will definitely find a way to apply it immediately.
Old is Gold.......2006-11-22
Reading a book on leadership written about 80 years ago is an experience. While we all know that new advancements will lead to a need for new skills. This was true for all periods. The best part of The Go-Getter is its relevance for all ages.
When I was reading the book for the first time without even referring to the period when it was written I felt that the author has used the lumber industry to indicate a generic pattern across industries. I felt its clear relevance in the software industry which is still in its adolescence globally.
Go getter attitude will take us to reach any of our goals. This requires three important aspects - the ownership of the activity or problem, courage to handle it even without having the complete knowledge of the activity or the problem but have only broad guidelines and perseverance to withstand the hurdles come on the way in completing the tougher task on hand. The Go-Getter demonstrates the same very well. The blue vase test has opened some powerful insights in me and I should agree my thinking and attitude towards any activity I am looking at had been changed dramatically after reading this book.
This book gives us great insights about making our own fortunes. There is a saying that the normal worker waits for the job description and the Go getter writes one and exceeds the same. This book offers motivation to look at opening doors(opportunities), finding ways to make way, take ownership, show perseverance, think laterally to find maximum alternatives on hand, respecting the designer/assigner of the job and his instincts and finally the strongest of the messages - It will be done attitude.
A must read for the younger generation to learn how to find their way in the new executive jungle. Considering the economic growth majority of the economies are experiencing the managers are always flooded with priorities between managing growth vs creating supporting structures for planning further growth. The amount of time new age managers/leaders are spending on grooming and counseling the subjects has drastically come down and it is important that the subjects learn some life skills to sail through the tough waters. The Go Getter definitely offers the required life skill - being a Go Getter.
