this book was well i can't really tell you but i know tht it will be great because i have read all of them except for this one and i plan to read this one! i promise if you get this book in the morning you will not put it down until you have finished it! i don't really like to read and i am so sad that this is the last book because i was really enjoying them! so if the publishers of these books see this review please hire someone anyone to write another one, or a good writer needs to read all these books and write a bunch more!
It got me into reading more.......2003-11-15
i never really like reading books about teens or anyting like cause i was just really never into reading. but now since i was reading turning seventeen i have a new an creative thinking about reading books and i read everynight before i go to bed. the first turning seventeen i read was #5 cant let go kerri's story. and i really like it ...
Great!.......2002-03-20
A while ago I read the third book in this series and loved it so much that I went back and got the first two. The very next day I bought the entire series of books available. I love this series! My only complaint is that they don't come out quick enough with new books..:) I can't wait for book 11 to come out. The characters and story lines are great, and real too. I'm a little older than HS age, but I still enjoy this series a lot. I tell everyone to check out these books regardless the age. If anyone has any idea when the next book comes out please let me know. I can hardly wait as it is...
the last one.......2001-12-30
I got all the turning seventeen books for christmas this year and I have LOVED the ones I have read so far (books 1-5) ....
... these are the best books! their about 4 best friends in their senior year in high school, their falling in love and facing dificult isues in their lives!
Totally unexpected.......2001-11-15
Wow. This book had so many twists in it it left me spinning. I cant believe all the things that appen in this book. I was so mad about Matt at the end. I always hoped that from the first book when Kerri and Matt get together that they would always be together. I cant believe he turned out to be a jerk. I actually am secretly hoping that Matt and Kerri work things out. Pathetic, I know. But I cant help it. I wish Donna had never been born. She (stinks) and is utterly pathetic.

Book Description
Jenna Conrad, Peter Altmann, Melanie Andrews, Jesse Jones, Nicole Brewster, Miguel del Rios, Leah Rosenthal, and Ben Pipkin form a very close group when they are brought together by tragedy. But they couldn't be more different from each other! Two devout Christians, a cheerleader, a dark, brooding type, a football player, and a nerd, not to mention the others, make up this diverse group. Join them as they grow together in friendship and in faith. Readers will delight in the first two titles in this inspirational new series:
Reality Check: Clearwater Crossing #2
Now that we have gotten to know the teens at Clearwater Crossing High, things are getting complicated! Leah and Miguel have kept their budding relationship a secret, but Jenna is heartbroken when she finds out. On top of that, Jenna's 13-year-old sister is acting like a complete pest and driving her crazy! Peter's got a crush too--on Jenna! Will telling her the truth ruin the special friendship they have? And Nicole is fed up with guys. She thinks that winning a national model search would be the perfect payback to Jesse after he humiliated her at school. But she doesn't really feel right about getting revenge, or does she?
Customer Reviews:
Reality Check Review.......2004-04-24
Peter finally discovers that he is in love with his best friend, Jenna. He is forever trying throughout this book to tell her, but is crushed when he gets the wrong idea about Jenna and Miguel.
Nicole is out to wreak revenge on Jesse for dumping her. She decides to enter a modeling contest, but is dreaming of winning even before it starts.
Jenna is at a family civil war with her roommate Maggie. Maggie dumps her unmentionables in the floor; Jenna hangs them out the window. Maggie puts up weird-looking posters; Jenna puts up a room divider. Jenna insults Maggie's school dance date and dress; Maggie puts a picture of Jenna on the Internet--and a rather embarrassing one to boot. Jenna tells her parents and Maggie is grounded.
"Reality Check" leaves you wanting more.......2003-10-03
Laura Peyton Roberts' "Clearwater Crossing" is a deceptively engaging series. Although on first glance the books might look like any other teenage drivel (i.e. the "Love Stories" or anything with the words "Sweet Valley" on the cover), they are far from it. They are very well-written, with interesting characters, and each book has a "cliffhanger" ending designed to leave you wanting more.
"Reality Check" is the second book in the CC series. Like all the others, it encompasses several different plots. Although all the plots are believable and most are interesting, not all of the characters are likeable and some, like egocentric football player Jesse Jones, are downright loathsome. (On a note not directly related to this book, one has to wonder why Melanie Andrews - easily the best, most multi-dimensional character in the series - has such an emotional investment in him for so long).
Although all the books have the aforementioned cliffhanger endings, this one in particular has an ending that should leave the reader desperate to find out what happens next.
A great teen book!.......2000-06-06
This is definitely one of those books you CANNOT put down! I read the whole thing in 1 day. It is so easy to relate to everyone in this book! If you are a teenager I'd definitely recommend it... especially if you're a hopeless romantic like me! After I finished this book I immediately started reading the next in the series (Heart & Soul) and I'm already half-way through that book too! This series is definitely a great one to get hooked on!
Can't put it down.......2000-01-30
I just LOVE these books, these are the type of books that you just can't put down! I started reading them at the end of December and now I am on book #4! Book #2 Reality Check was probably the most 'can't put it down' book so far, this book you just have to read, read, read until the end, and especially the ending of book #2 I ran out to the store to buy #3 immediatly. I can honestly say that this book is worth every penny you pay for it!
Reality Check.......2000-01-20
This book had a way of bringing me together with my feelings and I was able to connect to it emotionally. It reminded me a lot of Lurlene McDaniel's books.

Jake's review.......2006-02-09
Body Check is not the best book I have ever read. It was not that good because it was supposed to have a lot more action in it than it did. It was more about people's personal lives. It did not really talk about hockey either; it justed talked about what was going on.
Body Check is about a hockey team that gets a new coach who is a big jerk. The new coach tries to get the old coach fired but nobody wants that.
The type of reader that would like this book would be someone who does not like challenging books. Somebody that would also like this book would be someone who does not like action because this book does not have a lot of action and is very dull.

Book Description
"Our house is a very, very, very fine house. With two cats in the yard, life used to be so hard..." In 1970, "Our House" was recorded and released by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young and immediately became a sentimental favorite for millions of fans. Its honest, romantic, homespun lyrics expressed a sentiment felt by all of us. To this day, the song remains a classic and is one whose melody and lyrics can be sung and repeated by the millions of people whose lives it touched. Songs like these and many others have created landmark moments in all of our lives, marking and celebrating key events, past and better times, current relationships, and hopes for the future. Now, Manuscript Originals has compiles the stories behind a collection of 25 of the world's most celebrated songs in Off The Record, a stunning book and CD collection that will commemorate the impact these classic songs have had in our contemporary world. Original handwritten images of the lyrics from these classic songs rendered by their original authors and accompanied by the songwriter's own artwork will be displayed in each of the book's 25 chapters. In addition, readers will find historical, social and "off the cuff" personal insights about these fascinating people and the music they produced. Illuminating photographs - some from the writer's or performer's personal archive that have never been seen before - will also document the journey of each artist's individual songwriting path. While the names of some of the songwriters included in Off the Record are better known to the general public than others, the songs these artists are associated with are some of the most famous titles in the world. Among the songwriters included are Graham Nash, David Crosby, Grace Slick, Ben E. King, Jimmie Davis ("You Are My Sunshine"), John Lee Hooker, Waylon Jennings, Randy Bachman, Peter Yarrow, and many, many more. The CDs enclosed in Off The Record include individual audio interviews from selected writers about their famous song's origin and the songwriter's perspectives on the creative process. A musical rendition of the song and/or its famous melody will also be represented. All told, Off the Record presents a remarkable and unique look into the world of songwriters and their classic songs. It gives the general consumer the ability to personally connect with some of the most beloved music of our times.
Customer Reviews:
May the musical journey never end........2004-11-15
This book is an absolute Gem!I just spent the afternoon enjoying this terrific book and the 2 CD's that came along with it.25 great songs, mainly from the second half of the 20th. century, and the songwriters behind them. The songs and writers were so well chosen that it's hard to imagine anyone not liking most,if not all,the choices.
To listen to these Artists talk about their lives, work, and the things that meant so much to them is a real treat. The interviews are all very personal and it seems that everything was spontaneous and came right from the heart.
Here is some of what you'll find:
"If you wanna make it,you can't fake it,you gotta live it."
Hank Williams Sr.
"The answer,my friend,is blowing in the wind."
Peter Yarrow will tell you what it means.
"You don't hit a home run every time you come to bat.You don't hit oil every time you drill."Jimmie Davis,Gov.Louisiana and writer of "You are my Sunshine".
"Why can't I free your doubtful mind and melt your Cold,Cold Heart." Where did Hank get that title?
"The Dragon lives forever and has been with us for 3 or 4 generations." Peter Yarrow
"Tie A Yellow Ribbon Round the Ole Oak Tree." L.Russell Brown tells us what prompted this one.
"Love is Like a Burning Ring of Fire"What gave Merle Kilgore and June Carter Cash the idea for this song?
I am reluctant to say anything negative about this super book;but I felt a letdown after the end of each interviev on the CD's.I think the songs should have been included in their entirety;but then again it would have been impossible to give it only 5 stars.
I read the book and then listened to the CD's;and found that a good order.
Finally,I'd recommend you read the other reviews. They all have something to add.
Only thing missing . . ........2003-01-11
. . . was the music! I was surprised and mildly disappointed that the CD's didn't include the original recordings of the songs talked about. Other than that it was most enjoyable
Wonderful.......2003-01-04
"Off The Record: Songwriters on Songwriting" by Graham Nash is WONDERFUL!
It features
Full color artistic renderings the lyrics of 25 famous songs by the original songwriters.
Songs like True Colors, What a Wonderful World, Never My Love, and many more.
Pictures of the songwriters and artists.
Interviews with the songwriters.
Then 2 CD's filled with songwriter interviews where you get to hear some of the story about what inspired the featured song and other songs the songwriter wrote.
"Songwriters on Songwriting" is beautiful and delightful.

Music to my eyes!.......2002-12-06
A visually stunning book for music lovers or casual fans. The multimedia format really takes the music and lyrics to a new level. Cheers to Graham for this wonderful effort!
Can't get enough!.......2002-12-06
Already anxious for the next edition! I've always been a big fan of Graham Nash's, but never had the benefit of so much insight into the creation of great songs. Where do you find this type of memorable music today? It's rare. I can listen to each of the featured 25 songs in Off the Record and tell you about a special memory that is conjured up from the recesses of my mind. It's fascinating to read the artists' stories behind the songs. Please Graham, give us more!
