Great Book.......2007-10-19
We got this book for my five year old because he loves Pokemon. It was a great book for me too. I learned a lot about how the world of Pokemon works. I would recommend it to others that want to know more about them.

The Official Pokemon Handbook is a great, elaborate way to learn about Pokemon, you can be any age to enjoy this handbook! It teaches you the original 151 Pokemon, that also includes Togepi! What about trainers? Yes! This book also tells you about the trainers and other characters. If you are playing the Kanto rpg games, it tells you the City, leader, and their Pokemon! It's a great handbook, I'm a Pokemon fan myself, I liked this book a whole lot! They have from Bulbasaur all the way to Togepi. If you are looking for a book on Hoenn pokemon, this one won't suit because this one only covers Kanto pokemon! There is even a introduction by Professor Oak in the book as well. This is good for new fans as well, because it shows most of the Pokemon you will be training in the games.
The book is a great one, and I suggest it to Pokemon fans.

An adquate game guide for an average GNC game. The guide is actually very helpful. There always times in game play when one becomes stuck, so a game guide is useful.

At first i'll say i'm Italian so my english could be not so good to understand!!!
I hoped to find a book such complete as the edition released for the first pokèmon series games, i know that pokèmon repeates itself for many thing like moves, items and many other things so yes you'll find it all in the guide.
But as you find so many picture and a near complete walkthrough, the book lack in strategies for the most important battle and for the solution of the 50 battle cd!!!
You want to do a STRATEGY GUIDE so write it COMPLETE!!!!
Buy it if you are a collector if not leave where it is....

I haven't gotten this game guide yet, but I saw it in borders and fell in love with it! Don't look for lame excuses for free guides on the internet! There aren't any! I've looked everywhere. One thing though, You can get Jirachi from Pokemon Channel but it doesn't say in here! don't be a trainer without this!

The Pokemon Handbook #4 is a great item to have. It includes information on all Hoenn pokemon up to Rayquaza. It does NOT, however, include Jirachi and Deoxys. Why? Those two were not released at the time this handbook was released. Together with the Pokemon Handbook Collector's edition and the Pokemon Handbook #3, this handbook includes all pokemon (excluding Celebi, Jirachi, and Deoxys).
NOTE: It does not iclude Lucario, Manene, or Manyula. Those are fourth generation Pokemon.

I thought this book was very well written and showed the specific points on each individual pokemon. They should come out with another book thats all about the old pokemon. Pokemon are aseome and I LOVE THEM with all my heart. When I grow up I want to be a pokemon. I will probily be zappdos so I can fly around and zap people and KILL THEM with my aseome pokemon powers.

well at first my mom did'nt have any way for me to read but then I went to my friend aaron and serinas house and I liked it so I asked them politley if I could have it and they kindly said back "yes" so like a year later every night I would sit down before bed and read untill I got to tired to read anymore.my mom and dad were so proud of me that sometimes I would read some pages to them to dad said "wonderful" mom said "great" so from then on I read so much that my pokemon knowledge went up to like 100'000'000'000' and even more than that.note:I like to call serina sabrina thats how much of a pokemon fan I am.gotta catch em' all.

This book doesn't have enough information and is incomplete. It is missing over 100 Pokemon-- That's a lot of Pokemon missing! Even the other revised "Official Pokemon Handbook" is missing 99 of the Pokemon -- not much of a difference! I recommend just going to a whole other series that has a COMPLETE list of all 251 pokemon. Also, this book has NO information on the gold and silver versions! I like Pokemon and have a Pokemon Silver and think there should be a new version of the book (if this series is going to do something), but that probably won't happen because the Pokemon craze has basically ended. I went to another book that had a list of all 251 Pokemon and now I have 245 of the 251 Pokemon in the Silver version for Gameboy Color. The book has nice pictures of the original Pokemon, but it's nothing with out the additional 100 Pokemon.
Better than most........2002-06-26
When I ordered this book I was really exited, It's helpful but only when you have Yellow, red, or blue versions not helpful with the more modern vesions because they don't have a whole 100 of the more modern pokemon. All you Pokefans out there, only get this book if you have yellow, red, or blue versions.
The greatest book with a few disipointments.......2002-05-11
I liked this book, but I was disipointed that it only had the pokemon from the Yellow, Red, and Blue versions. Because I have the Crystal version as well as the Yellow version. I liked it though, because now I'm prepared for the moves my pokemon will learn and which moved to deleat.

Inflation became the dominant economic, social, and political problem of the industrialized West during the 1970s. This book is about how the inflation came to pass and what can be done about it. The authors construct a consistent data base of information for eight countries and design a theoretically sound model to test and evaluate competing hypotheses incorporating the most recent theoretical developments. They answer such questions as these: Can countries conduct an independent monetary policy under fixed exchange rates? How closely tied are product prices across countries? How are disturbances transmitted across countries?

We investigate the international transmission of inflation among G-7 countries using data-determined vector autoregression analysis, as advocated by Swanson and Granger [Swanson, N., Granger, C., 1997. Impulse response functions based on a causal approach to residual orthogonalization in vector autoregressions. Journal of the American Statistical Association 92, 357-367]. Over the period 1973-2003, we find that unexpected changes in US inflation have large effects on inflation in other countries, although they are not always the dominant international factor. Similarly, shocks to some other countries also have a statistically and economically significant influence on US inflation. Moreover, our evidence indicates that US inflation has become less vulnerable to foreign shocks since the early 1990s, mainly because of the diminished influence from Germany and France.

This book started out as somewhat of a whim. I was eating some pretzels one day and said to a friend, "you know...these pretzels are something else. They are a salty, crunchy experience that is unparalleled in this universe or any other". After looking at me strangely for some time, my friend said, "well why don't you write them a letter and tell them". So I did. Well, I found some amusement in this, so the letters continued.
I paired my writing "skills" with my warped sense of humor, and after a year or so I had quite a collection. Friends began reading, photocopying, and passing the letters around. Before I knew it, I had sort of a grassroots fan club. I felt that I had to bring my collection to a much larger audience though, and that is where I got the idea for this book. So please...sit back, peruse my letters, and have a good time. Making people laugh brings me joy like nothing else. However, this book may leave you with some unanswered questions like "who is Fluffy?" or "Just what is a meat stalk". Unfortunately, I cannot answer these questions for you. Just know that everyone has a Fluffy inside of him or her.

When I started my journey into the mind of Mr. Cornett, I didn't know exactly where he was coming from. After reading a few more of his letters, I realized he isn't coming from anywhere. He is all over the place. He is insane . . . and his letters slay me. It started out with a chuckle here and a snicker there, but quickly turned into full on belly laughs. This book is great to go back and read again anytime you need a good laugh. I highly recommend it, and I hope Mr. Cornet does a sequel.
