7 Pop Culture Masterpieces.......2007-08-12
A fantasy tale for all ages about a wizard and his adventures and the trials of growing up. Each book matures with Harry and keeps young readers entertained even as they grow up. A must read for anyone who love books.
Who wants to grow up!.......2007-08-08
This is silly; I give a 5 to the whole series. I expect that most of you are way younger than me or have kids. Every one of these books is worth reading, even for us that are no longer considered to be kids.
#1 Harry Potter Fan.......2007-07-08
Seen all the movies, but never read the books? Then you are missing so much. I love these books!
5 Stars.......2007-01-08
The Harry Potter series is one of the best fictional series out there - and not just for children. While the books start off simple, they grow more complicated and darker as the series progresses and the 3 main characters grow up. J.K. Rowling inputs themes about friendship, loyalty, love, loss, the consequences our choices in life have upon ourselves and others, as well as the ever-looming battle between good and evil. To have the first 5 books is a wonderful addition to any library, and this series stands alongside C.S. Lewis's Narnia chronicles as a beloved children's series that is not just entertaining, but also teaches us about ourselves.
One of the best fantastic novel ever!.......2007-01-05
I don't know where did Rowling gets her inspiration (must be someplace where Tolkien, Lewis and others got it to, please guys... let us now!) but this stories are beyond the five stars allowed here. You want to just sit down and read a book to the end in one day, because is so great you keep wondering what will happen to Harry and his friends in the next page. These are great books for kids and "adult" kids, I mean, these are great to any age, as long as the reader has the willing mind to create all this fantastic history in its mind.

Young wizard-in-training Harry Potter has had his hands full during his first four years at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. As if studying spells and pleasing professors isn't enough, Harry has heard evil voices in the walls, rescued petrified students, fended off convicts escaped from wizards' prison, and played elaborate and grueling games of Quidditch. Between school sessions, he summers with the horrendous Dursleys, who seem to want nothing more than to crush our hero's spirit. Only time will tell how Harry will manage the certain dangers and escapades in store for him over the next few years.
The first four titles of J.K. Rowling's phenomenally popular series are now available--in paperback--in a handy boxed set, perfect for the legions of children whose big brothers and sisters have made off with their copies. These adventures are surely on the road to becoming classics; don't wait to collect them! The set includes Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. (Ages 9 and older)

Great Set of Books.......2007-08-15
I wanted to have the hard copies of these books to pass on to my kids and this is an excellent collection.
Worth reading, overall,.......2006-07-03
I read these books when I was about nine or ten. And I was totally, utterly, and completely in love.
And then I reread them now as twelve year old, and they have degraded. The plot and the characters are ultimately lovable, though it becomes a bit too repetitive in the fifth and sixth book. But I'm actually quite proud of how the characters have developed from the first one; they are 3D, dimensional, lovable, and almost believable. (though I find Draco Malfoy is just too...cliche-bad-boy-unbelievable)
It's mostly J.K. Rowling's writing style. I like fresh, appealing descriptions, not so much the "and there was a chair in the room and a small boy and another boy and..." (Okay, I just made that sentence up. But still. I find that to sorta be her style... lists and not descriptions.)
Still, if not just for the characters - I'd read it.
Don't you dare put it down!.......2005-07-24
WOW- I absolutly FELL IN LOVE with these books, and all because of how good the first one was. Some people may say that if you read the first couple of pages of a book, and it doesn't really "light your fire" then don't bother with the rest. I BEG to differ! The first chapter of Harry Potter #1 might make little sense to one, until you have read farther along into it. I know I didn't really "get it" at first, but I kept reading. So don't listen to those people who say don't bother!
Because this is one of the best series of books ever written. Right up there with "The Hobbit"- that's something big. And for those who are worried about their children learning bad lessons from Harry, about sneaking around, keeping secrets, witchcraft?!?!, ; people, just relax. Don't over anyalse it, (it's a BOOK! not some devil worshipping cult, I still can't get over how some people are so prejeduced against it and won't even read it because they think it will "corrupt their children" and think that Harry Potter will lead them down the not-so-primrosed path. Qualities of loyalty, honour, love, friendship, and good against evil are very prominent, and clear to see in these books.
I think everyone will enjoy these books entirely! They're not just children's books, they're books that everyone can read and benefit from.
If I could rate this book ( and it's series ) as 10 stars, I would!
simply the best..........2005-03-31
cant help but to give two thumbs up...it's nice to read a story about a mother's love, great friendship, story with a twist and humor and most especially with a plot and setting that definitely would take your imaginations to the highest level in one package...so hold on to your seats and be ready for the stories that this extraordinaire would leave you spellbound!!!
What can I say?.......2005-03-19
It's Harry Potter, what can I say? It's the series that got kids reading again. Everyone knows the plot. A boy wizard named Harry grew up with his cruel muggle (non-magic) aunt and uncle after his parents were killed in a car crash. At the age of 11 he's informed that he's a wizard, and that an evil wizard named Lord Voldemort murdered his parents and very nearly killed him. His aunt and uncle dissaproved of the world of magic and tried to keep everything a secret from Harry. He's taken away to live at a castle called Hogwarts, a school for young witches and wizards where he befriends the studious, proper Hermione Granger, and Ron Weasly, a poor boy who lives in the shadow of his brothers Charlie, Percy, Bill, and Fred and George. In book 1, Harry arrives at Hogwarts and finds that someone there is secretly trying to destroy him and is hiding a VERY big secret from the rest of the school.
In book 2, an unknown assailant is attacking students and everyone thinks Harry's doing it. We learn that no less than THREE characters are not what they seem. We are also introduced to Ron's younger sister Ginny, who has a crush on Harry.
In book 3, a murderous madman is on the loose and seems to be coming after Harry. But who, exactly is he? And the very LAST character you'd ever suspect of being evil reveals his true self.
In book 4, Harry is enrolled in the Triwizard Tournament, where three different magical schools select students to compete in daring, dangerous tests of school. Harry also attends the Quidditch world cup with the Weasleys and has a frightening run in with Voldemort and his servant in a graveyard. One character is tragically killed (I actually cried) at Voldemort's hand.
Book 4 is probably my favorite, along with 1, but there's really no such thing as a bad Harry Potter book. The movies are fantastic as well, and the sixth book is due out in a few months.

Intereting books, but weak cover........2007-08-24
Good as a present. Interesting books, but don't buy them if you are going to read them 3+ times. Soft cover break down fast. Spend extra money for hard cover.
AZKABAN.......2004-05-28
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is a very interesting book that captures your imagination from the very beginning until the very end. This book starts out like every other Harry Potter book, but you quickly get involved in the plot. Early in the book you discover Harry's parents died (which is one of the main secrets of the Harry Potter series). Many new characters are introduced into the book. Some of them become instant favorites and you immediately hate. J.K. Rowling makes the new characters seem believable even though they are strange and mysterious. One of the new teachers was one of Harry's father's friends, so Harry quickly becomes friends with the teacher and finds out many things of his father. Before the year ends, Harry is forced to confront the man who is supposedly responsible for his parent's deaths, but the mortal combat ends in a conclusion that you would never suspect. I really enjoyed this book and I hope you will too.
its GREAT!!!!.......2003-03-24
i think that Harry Potter set really influences people and that reading ability and helps you enter a new world of adventure. Both intense and somewhat humorous, Harry Potter captured the hearts of adults and chilren. This site personally ASSURES you for the BESt quality of any new coming books with a Great Low price. For any readers out that, I say BUY IT!!!!!
Binding will not hold up to hard use.......2003-01-03
My two children have already worn out a set of hardback Harry Potter books, so I don't know why I thought a paperback set would survive any better. Maybe I thought since they had read the others at least three times each that this set wouldn't get the same wear. I was wrong. My children (and husband) keep reading these books over and over. And the books are starting to fall apart. When they wear this set out, I'll get the best hardback set I can find! If your set won't get this kind of wear, it is a fine set.
the amazing Harry Potter.......2002-11-16
It was b4 the release of the 1st harry potter movie that prompted me to read the books. At the time, it was big news about the upcoming movie, everybody was talking about it. So i was just really curious about the books and wondered why they're so famous. Book Description
Agent-Based Computer Simulation of Dichotomous Economic Growth reports a project in agent-based computer stimulation of processes of economic growth in a population of boundedly rational learning agents.
The study is an exercise in comparative simulation. That is, the same family of growth models will be simulated under different assumptions about the nature of the learning process and details of the production and growth processes. The purpose of this procedure is to establish a relationship between the assumptions and the simulation results.
The study brings together a number of theoretical and technical developments, only some of which may be familiar to any particular reader. In this first chapter, some issues in economic growth are reviewed and the objectives of the study are outlined. In the second chapter, the simulation techniques are introduced and illustrated with baseline simulations of boundedly rational learning processes that do not involve the complications of dealing with long-run economic growth. The third chapter sketches the consensus modern theory of economic growth which is the starting point for further study. In the fourth chapter, a family of steady growth models are simulated, bringing the simulation, growth and learning aspects of the study together. In subsequent chapters, variants on the growth model are explored in a similar way. The ninth chapter introduces trade, with a spacial trading model that is combined with the growth model in the tenth chapter.
The book returns again and again to the key question: to what extent can the simulations `explain' the puzzles of economic growth, and particularly the key puzzle of dichotomization, by constructing growth and learning processes that produce the puzzling results? And just what assumptions of the simulations are most predictable associated with the puzzling results?

Book Description
The original is back. TRULY TASTELESS JOKES took America by storm and made it laugh at itself. It's all in here, disgusting, repulsive, cruel, and just plain tasteless jokes and stories that will make you smile, laugh, or groan--and love every minute of it.
Customer Reviews:
Great fun at parties.......2004-10-04
This is a great book to keep in your back-pack at school, in your pants pocket, or your car's glove compartment for whenever you are feeling alone, or the weight of the stone. Working late? Depressed about your low paying job? Getting a bad rap from your parents? Had a fight with your old lady? Mad at the Jews? Getting a bad rap from Blacks? Been double crossed by a Pollack? The handicapped getting you down? Tired of all the homosexuals in your work place? Just pull this little sucker out for a quick glance, and it will bring your spirits back up. This book doesn't discriminate. It's got something for everybody.
Oh, and it's also a great little party favor. Uh, that is... just so long as you know the people at the party. I mean, really KNOW them. I guess what I'm saying is be careful. As funny as it is, this book could very well get you killed. The other volumes even more so than the first.
Okay, it's SUPPOSED to be offensive...back off already!.......2003-11-30
I personally find this to be an indisposable book of dirty jokes. I mean, come on! It runs the whole gamut of everything from racist and sexist jokes to religion and animals. Yes, yes, it is QUITE offensive--BUT ONLY IF YOU CAN'T TAKE A JOKE.
If you *can* take a joke, and a good one at that, then this book is a bible. I, for one, love it.
So to all those who hate this book and think it's offensive smut: don't read it or anything else by this author.
If you can handle very taboo but good jokes, read an enjoy!'
Oh, and how many people from New Jersey does it take to screw a lightbulb? READ AND FIND OUT!
This book is horrible.......2001-10-09
Well, the title says it all. This book should be called "truly racist jokes". Most of the "jokes" in this book are either a: more offensive than actually funny, or b: older than my granny. Disguising offensive content by hiding it under the umbrella of a "joke" is what this "author" has done here. I recommend this book to any one who either want a really good way to waste 5 dollars, is out of tiolet paper, or is interested in actually becoming dumber.
Funny, party hit, and outrageous........1999-06-28
A great book to read at a party, memorize the jokes and carry them with you. People will remember you for the rest of your life. The Dead Baby Jokes never grow old. So funny, but the title is true, they are Truly Tasteless Jokes.
My friend ownes this book and I think it's great!.......1997-08-22
I went on a trip to Mexico with a group of friends. My friend brought these books called Truly Tastless Jokes I and II. They were a hit. We never got bored
Book Description
Disgusting, abhorrent, and just plain terrible. But people love them. Tackling every taboo subject, this truly tasteless little book proves that there's nothing too sacred to be laughed at. After all, it was a #1 bestseller.
