Great book to learn about car care........2005-03-15
Recently I attended a Saturday auto clinic that was held by a local repair shop. The technicians went over the basics of how to change a tire, inspect belts, check oil, and other general car care tips. At the end of the session I asked if they had any recommendations for a good book to continue learning about how to take care of my car. They suggested Auto Upkeep: Basic Car Care, so I bought a copy. I like how this book sticks to the basic things that I need to know. It is definitely a good resource to have.

I am a high school tech teacher. I purchased this book as a resource for my junior classes. I am very impressed with the time and effort that as been spent on this book. If you are just starting out and want to learn more about your car than I suggest this book, you will not be disappointed.

Perfect for anyone curious about cars........2004-07-12
I bought this book with my 16-year-old daughter in mind. Since she used half of her own hard earned money to make her first car purchase she is interested in knowing how to maintain it properly. She started asking me questions and I didn't know all the answers, so I decided to buy Auto Upkeep: Basic Car Care. I didn't want a book so mechanically complex that she wouldn't read it, so I'm glad I found this book! The pictures and illustrations are excellent. The author of Auto Upkeep simplifies complex automotive systems in a way that keeps her attention and mine. My 14-year-old son has also begun reading it!
My only regret is that I didn't buy this book before my daughter bought her car. I know it would have saved us some money. I never took "auto shop" in school, so I learned things the hard way. It's great to know that I am helping my kids learn the basics easily and early in life.

I decided it was time to teach myself the basics of car maintenance. As a single mom I have to save money any way I can. I bought Auto Upkeep to become familiar with the basics and now I feel a lot better. It was really easy to read and I have enough information to feel more confident about asking a mechanic to explain to me what needs to be fixed on my car. I'm not planning on doing my own oil changes, but now I am checking my oil and I know how to add some if it is low. Knowledge is power - thanks for a great basic car care book!

I believe this book holds up to its name. Auto Upkeep: Basic Car Care is a book that helped me better understand cars, their parts, and the importance of servicing. I also found the tech tips and web links useful. This book contains a lot of practical information. For example last month I needed a new set of tires for my 2000 Toyota Camry. Auto Upkeep clearly explained the tire buying process and gave me the information I needed to feel confident when I went to Sears to purchase a set. Recently I had a specific car question so I tried out their online "Q & A" guide at rollinghillspublishing.com and I got a quick personalized response. I would recommend Auto Upkeep to any car owner out there.

We are a Home Educating family (12th year) and have 2 teenagers and 2 more coming up. After reviewing this book online, we ordered a copy, along with 2 workbooks as our son had requested "Auto Shop" as an elective this year. It is our primary text for the first semester, covering everything from purchasing your car to maintenance/repairs and basic auto care. Our son is getting more out of it than we could hope for and wants to know when there will be a sequel on 'customizing' your car! =) We decided to make it a required course/text for all teens in our fam who are looking to purchase/own their own car. We highly recommend it!!! Oh, and the CD that comes with the kit puts the 'icing on the cake', including all the administrative extras you, as instructor, will need.+++
Great book for class.......2007-08-23
I am currently teaching "Automotive Ownership" to high school students and I am using this book as a reference. It is a great book to give students the basic information about owning a vehicle. Many of my students do not know how a car works or how to treat their car, by the end of class they are prepared to own a automobile.
Great book and I suggest it to other teachers with a similar class.

Book Description
Macroeconomic Policy in the Canadian Economy investigates developments in Canada over the last forty years, using recent advances in the field of applied econometrics. In particular, the book analyzes the theoretical foundations of public sector activities and evaluates the several theories of government growth. Issues of convergence are also investigated as they manifest themselves in per capita income across Canadian provinces, and as to how successful government income equalization policies have been in furthering such convergence. Moreover, the openness of the Canadian economy is investigated in terms of the importance of exports on GDP growth and of its participation in the world of an internationally integrated capital market.
The book also analyzes monetary policy issues and investigates the role of monetary aggregates and the effectiveness of monetary policy. Finally, it addresses the issue of the existence or not of electoral and partisan cycles in Canada, by incorporating both fiscal and monetary principles and applying them to the lively world of Canadian politics.

"Cats are angels with fur" is the first quote (attributed to Sark) in this charming little book, which in its 96 pages, is full of marvelous photography and clever sayings that apply to the wise and always fascinating feline.
There are 13 categories, like "Serene", "Curious", and "Independent". The photos depict many types, from the "mutt" variety to pure bred, and you are sure to find one that looks just like your beloved fur friend. The adorably plump shorthair tricolor playing with a squirrel, on page 17, looks exactly like my buddy Liddy !
It has a nice layout for such a small book, and good quality glossy paper; it would make a fine stocking-stuffer for the Holidays, and as Leonardo da Vinci said, "The smallest feline is a masterpiece".
