From the supplier: The 1970's saw the increasing use of management contracts and franchising agreements within hotel companies. Hilton International Co were the first to develop management contracts with profit-sharing lease agreements while Holiday Inns introduced the franchising agreements. Both revolutionized hotel management and afforded the owners the full responsibility for operating losses and debt service while the company operators will be fully responsible for the hotel operations.

From the supplier: Performance tests in hotel management contracts have been one of the most important issues dealt with during the negotiation process. A salient feature of the management contract, which states the agreed-upon returns of the owner, is a consideration in performance testing. Performance tests play an important role in influencing the hotel owner's decision to enter into a management contract. Hotel management companies have been using financial performance tests based on returns, operating margins and revenue per available room.

From the supplier: Associations are usually offered the possibility of including an arbitration clause when signing hotel contracts. Associations may choose not to waive their right to litigation, which allows them to choose the forum for dispute resolution, the right to a jury trial and use of the rules of discovery. The main advantage of arbitration is that it is usually faster than litigation. Another alternative to arbitration is mediation, in which a mediator makes non-binding recommendations to resolve disputes.

From the supplier: The misconceptions about the process of yield management are presented and its key elements are discussed. Yield management also known as revenue management is a process of maximizing hotel profits from the sale of the company assets. It is both an approach to financial management and a hotel management tool which can be used to generate more revenues for the company while providing the highest quality of service for consumers. Its successful implementation, however, will largely depend on the yield management program design and implentation within a hotel company.

Book Description
Fiscal Reform and Structural Change in Developing Countries analyzes the experience of countries involved in major tax reforms in the 1980s and first half of the 1990s by a combination of qualitative and quantitative country studies and over-arching thematic studies. The emphasis is on the role of fiscal reform in stabilization and structural change, as well as the effects that policy for stabilization and, especially, structural change can have on the fiscal deficit under different types of tax systems. The authors then analyze the reasons for the convergence of tax systems around the developing world.

For the guy who has everything.......2001-08-09
I got this book for my husband as sort of a joke. Do you know a guy who has more than 5 5-gallon buckets? This book is for him! It's both hysterically funny & practical. Unfortunately, he now thinks that he needs MORE buckets...
