                        This is definitely a waste of time & money. It's more of a dictionary than a thesaurus. They just don't provide enough synonyms & that's what I'm looking for.

                        I just purchased this thesaurus (if you can call it that) for my office. It was a total waste of money. I can't tell you how many times I have looked up a word and it is not there. And for those that are included, there are no unique synonyms...I had already thought of them all. I actually logged on to purchase the original Roget's, but thought I should let others know that they are better off with a traditional indexed thesaurus than this useless thing.

                        I would have to say that this is the biggest waste of a reference book that I have ever come across. There are very few synonyms and it reads more like a dictionary than a thesaurus.

                        For example, the word "fear" first gives a long definition and the following synonyms: affright, apprehension, dread, fearfulness, fright, funk, horror, panic, terror, trepidation. That's it, 11 synonyms! My pocket thesaurus, which I had intended to replace with this one, lists more than 60 synonyms!

                        In addition, many words that I looked up - common words like "novice" don't even have their own entries! As an aspiring writer, I find Roget's New Thesaurus absolutely useless. If you have any concept of the English language, don't buy this book. You'll be sorely disappointed.

                        While the storyline is not great, it does explain all the words in alphabetical order.

                        The description of antidisestablishmentarianism was most enlightening though. The ending was a little predictable, the build up to a description of zytoplasm disappointing.

                        A little more imagination required here, I could find no reference to common terms such as bum bandit, hand shandy, shirt lifter and fudge nudgers.
