Improve your chances of getting that first interview.......2001-08-29
This book will help you write a cover letter and resume that will get you in the door. The rest is up to you. There are examples of both good and bad resumes along with a realistic step by step guide to building a resume. This book is good for a first time resume writer, but it is especially good for someone who hasn't been on the job market in awhile. You will be able to send your resume out with confidence.
Oustanding Resource!.......1999-11-24
An absolutely outstanding book. Cuts through the bull and presents its information clearly and concisely. The examples are top notch. This book is easily worth 3 times what it cost me. Thanks!
Best Value for the Dollar, very informative.......1999-05-21
An excellent bare-bones resume book that gave me a lot of ideas of different ways to format my resume to attract attention.
Customer Reviews:
Not so hot.......2007-04-05
it basically is a series of bad resumes and good resumes. No real direct help in terms of resume writing. Just read the whole thing and infer lessons from each example. I was more hoping to see some more direct information or advice. How to approach each section of a resume etc.
A great way to start your job search.......2007-03-15
An excellent resource with all the tools you will need to get started on your job search. It is a must read primer those without a resume, first-time job seekers, or those who have been out of the market for a while.
Excellent book.......2006-02-25
Very good, practical, useable book on turning an average resume into a standout.
General Information.......2006-02-25
The information provided was general, however the samples will provide a first time resume writer with the basic outline to follow. The information in some samples, such as a housewife entering back into the work force, were a bit too hyped up to take seriously.
Excellent reference.......2006-02-05
I picked up this book used to get me started writing my first resume. It offered serveral examples of good resumes, along with a few bad. It also offered examples of cover letters. I found the book very informative. The introduction set a good foundation for me to focus on while writing the resume. I was very happy with the results and would definitely recommend this book.

I just purchased his book..because to me if someone quotes from the bible..I like to hear what he has to say..From the few pages I just read he does sound sincere...So I purchased his book..I should have known for 1.98 somethings up...After my purchase I decided to look up reviews about the author...In doing so I find out,,he's made a ton of money off other people..he's being sued..
he went bankrupt (in his book he claims he's always made money)
(in his book,,he says he want to help people)..In reading the few pages from his book..and in reading his reviews..I cant believe it's the same person...Is he trying to make a few more dollars off of the bible?? When I receive his book I will through it in the garbage,,because someone that lies,,and quotes from the bible is just a ******* **** ******
A book that belongs on your nightstand.......2004-07-14
This is a book that should be kept on your coffee table. Instead of watching the idiot box, read a few chapters of this great book or leave on your nightstand and read it before drifting off to sleep every nite. Lot's of good stuff.
Great book Wade.
Wade's most important book........2004-07-11
While WADE has written many books on investing, business and success. Without a doubt, this is Wade Cook's most important book to date.
Whether you like Wade Cook or not or actually feel he is sincere, this is one great book. Make this daily reading supplemented with The Bible and watch your whole life change.
Great one Wade.
I agree with the reviewer from NJ--Great book by Wade.......2004-06-15
Yeah I know that just because Wade Cook refers to scriptures in this book does not make him akin to The Pope. But the fact is, the man walks his talk and talks his walk. Those of us who have known Wade know that he lives these principles.
This book gave me new motivation and purpose in my life. I used to work Sunday's to get OT and help pay the lousy bills. Aside from my family being upset with me being away and spending too much time at work I read and respected what WADE said about keeping the sabeth holy and how he cancelled doing seminars on Sunday. Much to my surprise, not only was I refreshed and having a ball with my family, but I also found new opportunities
presented to me and was making even more money while observing the sabeth.
Great advice Wade.
I highly recommend this book by Wade. It is probably his best and certaintly his most important.
Do what he says and what he does.......2004-06-02
I am continually impressed by Wade Cook, the values he esposes and practices. In Business Buy The Bible, you will learn perhaps why Wade has been so blessed. Notice that he is one of the only seminar leaders that does not have seminars on Sundays?
Why? Respect the sabbath.
By the way, WADE IS BACK. To appreciate what he is doing check out his website at www.wadecook.org. If you buy this book, throw away the postcard inside and DO NOT call the toll free number inside the book. It's for another company that obviously does NOT have the same values as Wade. Go to wadecook.org for the new toll free number.

Entertaining but not necesarily useful.......2006-08-13
I like GK. He is a colorful character with great wit. Being a huge Apple fan I decide to get this book. I'm contemplating starting a small service biz and bought this book for useful tips but I got very little out of it. Maybe it was ground breaking when it came out.
The book is really targeted for people that work in large consumer based hardware/software products. The book was written prior to the internet so they way companies sell and promote biz as well as the tips are somewhat outdated. Examples: Apple uses distributors to sell. Well in the US and most developed markets that ins't really true anymore. Apple goes direct and in some cases through retailers that are also distributors. If you want to get into a company get someone internally to champion your resume. This is already well known. Also most companies referenced in the book no longer exist (Ex: Compuserve) or stopped supporting the macintosh platform long time ago. Also the last chapter on "dating" in a tech world while amusing felt like a filler to complete the book.
There are a few good nuggets on presentations, demos, and maximizing your investment in trade shows. This was interesting but very technology oriented. There are also some interesting perspectives on Apple history and characters which Apple followers would enjoy.
So If you have a small biz that isn't technology based or you are not a fan of Apple there isn't much here for you.
One thoughtful comment in this book is worth a fortune...........2006-02-28
Kawasaki mentions his experience in advancing money to others to pay in advance for their work. Read "The Macintosh Way" as young as you can. I'd be quite a few millions better off if I had read him sooner and taken his advice to heart. And it's not just the money....
AWESOME BOOK: PERFECT FOR MAC EVANGELISTS & APPLE LOVERS.......1999-08-24
Guy Kawasaki has written a great book on Apple and the Apple business method. Very funny. Extremely unique and marvelous, like Apple. Perfect for brushing up your Mac Evangelist skills! One of the best books I've ever read, and I'm not even done! Guy truly embodies the Macintosh Spirit. everything about the book, from the footnotes to the illustrations, is like the artistic perfection of Macintoshes! GUY KAWASAKI RULES!!!EVERYONE SHOULD READ THIS BOOK AND BUY A MAC!!!!!!
Formula for over the top success against all odds.......1998-08-06
The teams I have been a part of that followed the basic attitude that Guy outlines here have accomplished amazing things against all odds. On other teams, the farther we got away from these ideas, the more mediocre the end results turned out. If you want to create an environment where world changing events will happen, you need to read this book.
Stickingly Simple Basics for a Successful Growing Business.......1997-08-07
Guy Kawasaki's "The Macintosh Way" empowers the very essence of understanding the principles of evangelism and doing the "right thing the right way" in business. This book and his other book " "Selling the Dream" should be required reading for startup companies. Values and principles in business are the key to success.
Guy's keen sense of humour and reference to examples of what did and didn't work for the Apple Computer Corporation, while he worked there in the early 80's, is a fascinating perspective. Here, you will see how an successful company like Apple grows from innovation to mediocrity. For Mac users, this is a praticularly fascinating insight but should be required reading for all CEO's and directors of growing companies. It is an insightful collection of practicle examples of what and what not to do in business.

Customer Reviews:
Decent introduction, some disappointments.......2002-05-31
In the rapidly evolving field of digital audio and visual, it's reassuring to have a clearly organized, relatively comprehensive reference work such as this. Nevertheless, far from being exhaustive, the book is a starting point--one, moreover, that will inevitably soon be dated information. For example, the authors' publication date doesn't permit them to consider the latest generation of flat-panel iMacs in their discussions.
Despite the book's length, I'm surprised that some additional paragraphs weren't devoted to matters such as converting analog audio and VHS tapes to video files suitable for burning, or copying, through use of the iMac. The authors begin by assuming you'll be using "Sound Studio" to create audio files, but since their subsequent discussion soon promotes the advantages of using Roxio's "Toast," it's unclear what the advantages of Sound Studio, if any, might be. My question about how to equalize audio frequencies before burning was not addressed. Moreover, it's not explained if either program is capable of automatically creating individual files from a multiple-track analog LP, as is the free shareware "Coaster."
The discussion of "iTunes" is surprisingly brief, containing nothing not immediately observable from using the program. Most disappointingly, the authors do not address the question of memory and disc space. Is it important that virtual memory be turned "off" while recording? More importantly, how many MP-3 audio files can be imported to the iTunes library or stored on the iMac's hard drive without affecting the machine's speed and performance?
As for digital video, I would have appreciated some discussion of converting VHS tape to digital files. One school of thought says to use a "bridge" such as the Hollywood Dazzle; another says the job can be accomplished just as well if not better by most camcorders. Which is right? And if the latter, what particular camera is recommended?
Less talk about how to shoot a good movie and more about the hardware and software would have measurably enhanced the book's usefulness as far as this reader is concerned.
A MUST BUY . . . IF.......2001-08-15
A MUST BUY . . . IF you want to use your iMac to soar, to do magic, and to bring you into new levels of computing. The iMac: what a wonderful machine! It is high powered, low priced, and you can actually USE it with ease - this in stark contrast to the kludgy, unstable WinTel machines that are now referred to as "99% of a Mac." (Don't believe it.) Yet many an iMac owner uses his or her computer for email and a letter or two; and that's fine, though it is a little like using an F-16 fighter for a trip to the market or for crop dusting, maybe.
The iMac has extraordinary power, and that's what this book is all about. It is not the ABCs of the computer that'll explain a double click, but it will lead you with simple language and copious illustrations into our new, digital world of sound, photos, movies, and graphics. It also delves into Web page authoring, networking, and some of the "hidden talents" of the iMac. Mercifully, it is all very understandable. As easy as the iMac is, you're simply not going to reach the next level by trial and error and the Help Screen.
Messrs. Hansen and Miser are qualified experts who have the gift of communication. They are adept at taking complexities (e.g. URL language) and factoring them down for us "regular folks" who have inherent creativity but lack an MIT degree. They really do a tremendous job. With the book, a bit of software, and the funky little iMac, you'll be astounded at what you can do.
Best of all, you could easily buy separate books on iTunes, MP3s, iMovie, digital photography, networking, building web pages, etc., but this one volume will get you well on your way while saving money and shelf space. Later, if you want a "master's degree" in some subject, you can always buy a specialty book.
Two quibbles: I wish Hansen had provided more information on selecting a digital camera. The range of choices and options out there is bewildering and seems to change markedly every day. Second, Miser strongly dissuades you from buying a Digital 8 video camera. Sony markets these, and they have one fabulous advantage. If you have built up a library of Regular 8 or Hi 8 tapes over the years as I have, the Digital 8 cameras are "backwards compatable" and will play these tapes. This means that all your old material can go directly into the iMac in the requisite digital form without first being converted. This, to my mind at least, is a HUGE plus.

spectacular.......2007-05-13
A great story of an intelligent & inquisitive person who's interests led to an amalgum of different skill sets that resulted, literally, in a machine (and culture) that changed the world.
This story is reminiscent of 'Surely you're joking mister Feynman', another remarkable man
A Story of a Pioneer in the Personal Computer Area.......2007-04-06
Compared to other people in the computer industry such as his partner Steve Jobs or Bill Gates, Wozniak is a quiet introverted engineer. He also seems a lot less driven to a success that would in reality gain him nothing more. There have been stories floating around the industry about pranks he has pulled but nothing definite. Indeed the name of the book 'iWoz' is a play on Apple's iPod, iTunes and other 'i' products. He's kept his sense of humor.
Now we have the story from the Woz himself. (To be sure, co-authored with Gina Smith.) He relates stories about the early days of the personal computer industry and the break throughs in technology that he (primarily) created. The basic concepts of the PC as we know it: interface with a keyboard and screen, few switches, floppy disk, expansion cards -- All came from Woz.
This book is likely to become an important research source in the future as it is a primary original source.
Patrick Lawlor who read the book for the audio has the ability to keep it moving and interesting through the entire 9 hours.
IWOZ documents the sources of his inspiration .......2007-03-06
Steve Wozniak's IWOZ comes to life in an excellent audio narrated by winning audio narrator Patrick Lawlor, who spices up the 9 hours of unabridged cd action. Thirty years after Wozniak's dream of a personal computer, the world's been transformed - and his company Apple has risen to become an industry giant. IWOZ documents the sources of his inspiration and in audio provides even more impact than the written word.
