Description:
The marketing of tourism and hospitality product to any country or market segment is associated with the interest generated and/or attitude of buyers. So, why is it that despite proximity and availability of direct flights between Kuala Lumpur and Darwin (capital city of the Northern Territory of Australia) very few outbound West Malaysians visit Darwin? This paper draws upon the responses of 675 West Malaysians and attempts to highlight their attitude towards choosing the Northern Territory of Australia for a holiday. The findings show that West Malaysians enjoy mental relaxation and exploration while on holiday. They are mostly very family and relationship building oriented people as evidenced by the responses. The findings of the study also reveal their interest to visit Australia and the Northern Territory. Thus, it is concluded that structural factors may inhibit behaviours in spite of the existence of favourable intentions to visit.

Very Good Intro.......2007-10-04
This is a very good intro to patent law. It covers the essentials of 35 USC 101, 102, 103, 112 with clear language and essential case histories. It's not enough to pass the patent bar, but it's an excellent place to get an overview and foundation before going on to more detailed patent bar study materials. It's also good for reviewing concepts for practicing patent professionals. It is focussed mainly on the law, meaning it does not cover many of the administrative issues related to prosecuting patents, but it covers the law well and clearly.
Spying On The College Of Your Choice
Very good prep to Patent Bar.......2007-07-20
Although the purpose of the book is not to prepare readers for the patent bar it does so anyways, especially Chapters 600 and 700 of the MPEP which are the most challenging and analytical and also the most heavily tested. It also goes into the basics of reissue and reixamination as well as international agreements governing patent prosecution.
If you are reading the book solely to prepare for the Patent Bar skip the three chapters at the end on infringement since this involves litigation and is not tested on the exam. I loved the multitude of examples and the history of how the laws were developed. Makes studying for the test a lot more enjoyable.
Excellent Book, Patent Law in Plain Words.......2007-07-12
It really gives me a whole picture of what patent law is about. I bought this book for my patent bar exam.It might not be the great book for that. It helps me, however, understand basic concepts and clarify many confusions in patent preparation and prosecution. I've heard that it's quite helpful for law students studying patent law, and even beyond school.
Good book for law school, but not the patent bar........2007-06-18
I read this to prep me for the patent bar exam, which was not a good choice. It's a great book for a law student trying to cram for patent law course exams, but I recommend OmniPrep for passing the patent bar exam, if that's what you're trying to do.
A pretty decent intro book.......2007-03-12
I bought this book to get the fundamentals of the patent bar exam. That was not a wise choice, but it is still a good book for other matters such as basic patent fundamentals. I actually skimmed through much of the book picking up key terms used in it for the patent bar exam however so that was good. It is also a great intro book to understand patents, drafting them, and prosecuting them. I recommend it to anyone.

To varying degrees, nations worldwide are at present struggling to meet their obligations under the World Trade Organization (WTO) Agreement on Trade Related Intellectual Property Rights (TRIPS).This agreement, which to a large extent supersedes all previous international conventions on intellectual property rights, promises to provide virtually global protection against fraud, piracy, and infringement for owners of patents, copyrights, trade marks, and trade secrets -- provided government officials everywhere implement its requirements. It is with the intent of facilitating such compliance -- focusing on patents -- that this extremely practical book has been written. With the authoritative stamp of a leading international functionary in the field -- formerly with the WTO and currently with the Secretariat of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) --it articulates with unmatched clarity the specific steps a government must take, in a wide variety of possible contexts, to ensure its patent-related obligations under TRIPS are met. The presentation is arranged in an article-by-article format, following the TRIPS Agreement itself as it relates to patents. It makes no attempt to discuss what the Agreement should be, but only what it is. Effective implementation and compliance is the author's sole concern. Among the complex questions the book answers in depth are the following: + How does the "no less favourable treatment" standard apply in specific situations? + Where is the line drawn between most-favoured-nation treatment and national treatment? + When does exhaustion occur? + How is the necessity test met? + What are the minimum and maximum conditions of patentability? + Under what circumstances does the precautionary principle enter the process? + How can traditional knowledge be protected? + Under what circumstances do considerations of public health arise? + To what extent do the protection of undisclosed test data and exclusive marketing rights relate to the patent system? The complexity of the TRIPS Agreement and its numerous links to areas that are outside intellectual property -- such as the environment and public health, human rights, and non-tariff barriers to trade -- make it very difficult to apprehend all the aspects and implications of the Agreement, let alone to convert all TRIPS obligations into national law. For these reasons and more, The TRIPS Regime of Patent Rights is a crucially important resource for lawyers and government officials everywhere charged with the implementation of TRIPS obligations. It provides bright guidance through a notoriously murky passage in current international relations.
