This is a very useful handbook for practitioners and teachers in antritust matters. This volume contents a complete overview of the european common legislation and the principles that orient the national antitrust laws in Europe. The organization of the information makes it an systemait and valuable reference to people starting in this area. The references to the jurisprudence and doctrine produced during the last 40 years is also useful and helpful. It is one of the top books regarding a systematic study about the requirements to analyze monopolistic practices. It is very useful to find differences between the US system and the european approach to the antitrust cases. Another area that is develop properly, is the relationship between antotrust an another fields like intellectual property, national jurisdiction and civil law.

A fun read, especially if yoiu're a sports fan. I read it in search of things that would help my own ability as a coach in my company. Much of it is light stuff but the easy read makes it fun nonetheless and there are few golden nuggets laced throughout the book.

A Great Book Of Faith And Tenacity (Especially Faith).......2007-02-08
In this picture of the Bataan Death march, you will see it from a totally unique point of view. The atrocities, pain and suffering remain the same as in all accounts, but the element of faith stands alone as the catalyst for survival. The faith of a Godly priest and the faith of those men around him. Sidney Stewart didn't hate his captors in spite of their brutality. He had faith in God and his fellow man. That faith was laced by a tenacity and will to live that is seldom seen. No matter how many books you have read on this subject, you MUST read this one. it will humble you.
Beyond Comprehension.......2005-12-01
I cannot recommend this book more highly if, for no other reason, than to help us value freedom and recognize what has been..and is being...lost to preserve it. This is an astounding story.
Mr. Stewart describes his experiences after the fall of Bataan in prose that I could not. He was...calm, objective, fair. The torture, starvation, suffering, and gross and endless inhumanity were beyond my capacity for such rational treatment.
When you read a chapter, you go, "My God, that was unbelievable." Then the next chapter exceeds the previous. This goes on throughout the book and that is why I could not put it down.
I didn't get the sense Mr. Stewart had any agenda in writing this book, but there are very powerful lessons to be learned. First, de-emphasize your problems and consider yourself very blessed - it's a matter of perspective and if you don't get it from this book, you never will. Second, freedom is not free and the price becomes infinite if you wait for the bad guys to act first.

I first read this book about 35 years ago when I found in my summer camp's library. Turns out my father, who survived Bataan and spent the rest of the war as a POW, knew the author while imprisoned. He said it was as accurate a portrayal as he had seen.
An American hero's inspiring story.......2004-12-17
Stewart's memoir of the appalling horrors of the Bataan Death March are a testimony to the heights and depths of humanity. His gripping description of the battle and experiences of captivity continue to inspire and shock sixty years later. Every student of World War II and history should read this story. I've often wondered what became of Mr. Stewart after the war and what the families of his comrades who did not survive their ordeal thought of their loved ones' heroism. Father Cummings should have been canonized or beatified. A must read.
Outstanding book!.......2004-01-26
In 1967 a friend gave me a worn out copy of this book. The front page was missing and it was falling apart. It was several months before I picked it up and started reading it. If found out that you cannot judge a book by a missing cover. (The first two chapters starts off slow,... but WOW, after that you cannot put it down!) I have since read this book over five times. I'm a shift captain on Winter Haven Fire Department and I let everyone on my shift read it. When I think I have a bad day,...I think of Sidney Stewart. It also has a Christian theme that is very powerful. My prayer for Sidney Stewart and all those on this horrendous event: I PRAY THAT SOMEONE WILL ENCOURAGE GEORGE LUCUS TO MAKE A MOVIE ON THIS BOOK!!!!! AMERICANS NEED TO KNOW THE TRUTH AND HORRORS THAT THESE SOLDIERS ENDURED. IT WILL BE A THOUSAND TIMES BETTER "THAN SAVING PRIVATE RYAN."

The Man who Kept the Secrets.......2006-04-02
E. Howard Hunt served time for his role in Watergate. An eery out-from-the-shadows spook from the coldest days of the Cold War, few if any readers will be aware of his role at the epicenter of US policy in Guatemala and later Castro's Cuba in the early days when the bearded one hadn't fully solidified his grip on that nation.
This is an interesting book. Amazing candor given the presumably embarassing material it covers.
Today few Americans know the complete story of how our CIA actively helped overthrow the leftish govt of Guatemala.
It was the transparency of this US action which (along with other things he'd witnessed in a long vagabond/moocher tour of South AMerica) convinced the young Argentine Dr Ernesto Guevara to "throw in his lot" with progressive socialistic movemts around the world. Guevara the young academic Marxist idealist depicted in the autobiographical film "The Motorcycle Diaries" would later meet up with soulmates in Mexico. He would befriend the Castro brothers and greatly assist them in their communization of Cuba. Thousands of regime opponents were brutally executed at the hands of Guevara who has been likened to the Soviet psychopath Lavrenti Beria or Hitler's SS fiend, Heinrich Himmler.
One could argue that Guevara would have become a sociopathic mad murderer and globe-trotting crusader for Communism irrespective of what the US CIA did or didnt do in Guatemala. The leftish Guatemalan prime minister refused to give weaponry to the civilians and thus his govt was easily overthrown by the US-backed and installed strongman.
E Howard Hunt played no small role in overthrowing the socialist oriented but democraticly elected Guatemalan govt in 1954. Thus, one could argue that this dedicated CIA agent so fluent in Spanish helped create and launch the Che Guevara legend. Later on, Hunt helped out with the ill-starred invasion of anticommunist Cuban exiles who were either slain or captured and imprisoned at the Bay of Pigs.
A good companion to this book would be the one written by longtime CIA agent Felix Rodriguez who helped track down and kill the captured Che Guevara in Bolivia in 1967
