If you liked "Who Moved My Cheese?" then you'll probably like this book; if you didn't like "Who Moved My Cheese?" then don't bother with this book because it, too, takes five pages worth of single-perspective advice and expands it into nearly 100 pages of mediocre storytelling. I would recommend you try "You're Fired!: How To Turn A Pink Slip Into A Golden Opportunity" instead.
A Solid Effort!.......2001-07-17
Eileen Berman uses two literary devices in her book, You're Fired! The first is a carefully constructed narrative about a fired executive that she uses to describe her approach to rebuilding a shattered life. The man feels a loss of identity when he is laid off, fears the reaction of his wife and becomes intensely depressed before finally consulting a psychologist. The psychologist, unfortunately, introduces Berman's second device: the Emotional House. The upshot: After getting fired, you need to rebuild your damaged Emotional House, which is constructed with the 7 C's of courage, confidence, choice, communication ... you get the picture. The metaphor quickly becomes annoying, since the points that it's used to illustrate are self-evident. Much more valuable are the self-quizzes that follow each chapter, which will certainly provide some much appreciated guidance to the recently downsized. It is primarily to this group that we[...] recommend Berman's book, although these days, it might not be a bad idea for everyone to keep a copy stashed away - just in case.

This book is extraordinary. It is a must read for those people that have lost a job or are in a company that is considering downsizing. The illustrations and stories make the book that much more interesting. I learned so much about myself as I read this book.
The stories about "Bob" make the book that much more real. When you finish the book you feel invigorated and will have the knowledge and motivation to go back out in the work force!!

For me the title says it all. This book really does make options easy and the author goes the extra mile by explaining everything in multiple ways. If you're logical, he covers it, if you're visual, he covers it and I'm a bit of both. I also appreciated the way in which every trade example was documented in a table and compared with a different type of trade. Great book.

Serious option traders will want much more in-depth education on the ins and outs of option trading, but I would still recommend Cohen's "Options Made Easy" as the introductory book on options trading to anyone who wants to learn. He has a way of taking very complex topics and breaking down the basics into something the uninitiated can comprehend. More importantly, reading his book gave me confidence that I could learn this subject and successfully trade options myself.

I found this book easy to understand. It's a very good introduction to the world of options trading and I would recommend it to anyone considering trading in options. It covers topics that some courses costing thousands just gloss over.
A must read for the beginner,,.......2007-04-11
In a world which focuses more on entertaining the reader rather than actually providing them with consistent useful information, Cohen actually believes in teaching. Although a tough subject (to me), he really breaks the information down and builds the reader up to a level of understanding and confidence to begin.
I especially liked how he helps you to start and construct your own plan of attack after realizing how to enter the game but without a biased opinion on which one is better.
(The area on Technical Analysis was great, however I do wish that he would of spent a little more time on breaking some of the charts down).
Even with that I learned quite a bit.
I am a young college student with lots of enthusiasm about entering the options game and will be getting his Bible Of Options Strategies as well.

A Must-Have for Any Options Trader.......2007-10-02
This book makes it relatively easy to understand the mathematical principles behind the Black-Scholes theory. The CD guides you through various scenarios and plots everything for you. You don't have to be a mathematician with a PhD from the University of Chicago to appreciate the explanations and diagrams depicted. A "must-have" for every options trader or investor - a definite "keeper"!

probability forecasting software that is on the CD.
Excellent learning tool as well as a decision-analysis tool for investments.

Informative book read..........2002-08-14
I was skeptical to buy it since there were more than 100 different books available on options... but I am glad I choose this book. Its easy and the software developed beats anything I have seen yet... All the free softwares available are excel based but do not offer such insight on the subject as this book.
I would strongly recommend it to anyone. Only hitch is that the software is bit slow to run but it performs...

Any student or trainee having to study this topic really should buy this tutorial.
Having a degree in Mathematics and a professional accountancy qualification did not prepare me for the explanations of Black Scholes to be found in most text books.
They may have got a Nobel prize for their option pricing model but Black and Scholes were never going to get an award for clarity of explanation.
Having grappled with this area for a few months, I decided I needed a little more innovative help; hence my purchase of Jerry Marlow's interactive tutorial.
Two days later and I feel I could go for the next Nobel prize myself!
So many things click into place so quickly, it's marvellous.
Jerry gives his email address which I had to resort to for one query. He answered most helpfully within a couple of hours.
I suspect that it helps to have had an overview appreciation of the area before starting the tutorial but this shouldn't deter first timers from starting with this.

The visual presentation the book offers combined with the interactive CD-ROM make this indispensable to anyone who really wants to understand how option pricing works. It's right here on my desk for easy and quick reference - which is my advice to everyone!

Ok Elementary-Intermediate Book.......2005-10-21
"Options Made Easy" is a good book to start off with if you have no experience with Options, but still have lots of experience trading stocks. Author Guy Cohen does a good job of introducing definitions and backing them up with examples.
The book falls a little short in a few places. This first is the writing style, where Guy expects the reader to have a good understand of trading jargon. Second, in some parts of the book he uses a particular term that isn't defined until later in the book. An author should never use a term until after is has been defined. And finally, the book does a good job of defining different techniques, but does little to say what trades situation are good; ones that he would invest in.
Thus I can only give this book 3 stars out of 5. Still, it's a good starting place if you are new to options.

Very good for starters! Easy to read and good graph illustrations. I must add, well placed illustrations also.
I found it useful for my first steps, especially with the basic "safe" strategies discussed.

Guy Cohen has done a remarkable job making the world of options more reasonable for the begining investor (such as myself), however I consider myself reasonably intelligent and I struggled with some of the risk profiles. After I gained an understanding of what the author was explaining I felt that some aspects of the book could have been explained more completely.(An example would be explaining that the break even mark on the risk profile was calculated using only the time value of the option and not the intrinsic value and this only applies if the option is sold at expiration.)
Overall I feel that this book is the best content value I have found on the subject and I highly recomend it for beginning traders who may find it difficult to shell out some of the big ticket prices charged by people teaching this subject.
As the title says! - & excellent non-option context chapters.......2003-10-22
Having read a large number of stocks and trading psychology books and trading stocks/CFDs and moving on to Options I bought and read this and Michael Thomsetts 'Getting started in Options' book. Choose this one. Its an easy read style, clear text and graphs and makes it all understandable. As a bonus, the best thing is for new traders are the excellent chapters on Psychology and Technical Analysis which could stand alone as mini-guide on these subjects.(Intermediate/advanced traders could skip them but they are a useful reminder). There are a couple of references to his software but that is fine (in fact while this is a book review I have also benefitted from his course and using the software). At the end is also a good 'Putting it all together' section to actually DO the option trading as well as a useful strategy summary. I am now successfully trading options, initiated to a large to degree by this book.
Best book to start in options trading!.......2003-09-19
I read dozens books about options. I only came across four, which have a real practical value about real options trading. This one - "Options made easy" - the first one. It's a very good introduction to option theory and practical approach of trading. Three others - "Options Workbook" by Tony Saliba, "Volatility" by Natenberg and "Options: Perceptions and Deceptions" by Cottle. All other books so far - theoretical garbage by people who want to make money by only selling books and useless services, but not trading options!

This paper presents a simple discrete time model for valuing real options. A short and simple proof of optimal exercise rules for the standard problems in the real options theory is given in the binomial and trinomial models, and, more generally, when the underlying uncertainty is modelled as a random walk on a lattice. The method of the paper is based on the use of the expected present value operators. With straightforward modifications, the method works in discrete time-continuous space, continuous time-continuous space and continuous time-discrete space models.

I have come to expect the best from the Legalines series, and they have usually delivered. These are the best of the variety of legal supplements and hornbooks I have used in my 2 years at law school (including Nutshell, Emmanuel and Casenotes). This book offers a compact, yet fairly detailed, look at wills and estates. It is keyed directly to the Dukeminier casebook, so it is easy to locate the section of the text you need help in. I appreciated this exactness when making my own outline...I didn't need to constantly flip through pages to match my notes, text and supplement. I also liked the plain, succinct explanations the book gave on each section of the law. I found their treatment of the degree of relationship scheme and various inheritance order systems and particularly helpful. Their case summaries are also well organized, dividing each case by its facts, issue(s) and holding(s). I would recommend this series of supplements to anyone, even if just used to assist in your own outline.
