I've read numerous books about Buffett. What i really like about this book is it's brevity.
The author has assembled Warren's most poignant, pithy and brilliant quotes in one short , sharp book.
I learnt more about Buffett's philosophies from the this little gem than from any other book on the subject.
Frankly, it's a pity most other busineess books aren't this succinct.An outstanding read.

This is a great little book that encapsulates the life and investment career of the most widely written about investor in history, Warren Buffett. It is a collection of Warren's wit, wisdom, humor and charm spanning his very successful career as Chairman of Berkshire Hathaway. The book is a collection of quotations covering everything from hiring people to his final goal: "What I want people to say when they pass my casket is, Boy was he old!" This little book is inspiring, funny and gives insights into what made Warren so successful. The author, Siimon Reynold, ends the book with a basic interpretation of Buffett's rules of investing. I call this book the "Vest-Pocket" Warren Buffett. It is an easy read that you'll refer to over and over.

These businesses are growing. Buy when they are selling at attractive prices only. Hold them while they continue growing. Allow compounding and earnings reinvestment to work for you.
Shell the few dollars to get the book if your a Warren fan........1998-07-24
Hmm. For around 8 beans, you get Warren's quotes. Should you get it? Only if you hang onto every one of his words. Overall, the book was short and all right. Some excellent quotes to take note though.

We used this casebook for our criminal procedure adjucation course (bail to jail). The authors apparently hatched this cockamamie idea about writing a non-traditional criminal procedure casebook, and the result of their "efforts" is this 1500 page paperweight. The idea of the casebook was to not only include substantive constitutional criminal procedure law, but to incorporate cases about how the individual states deviate from the federal rules while weaving in policy aspects of the rules. The end product however was a frankenstein-ish collection of various rules and policy matters, with no real coherency or direction. The book was all over the place. In their efforts to create a non-traditional casebook, the authors have not succeeded on any front, whether it be policy or substantive law.
The problem is that unless students thoroughly understand the substantive law in an area, it is difficult to understand all the deviations and related policy matters. You can't do both at the same time because you will not learn either very well. There is a reason why criminal procedure adjudication has been taught in the "traditional" method for so many decades; it's EFFECTIVE. This book should just be taken off the market.

As we all know, E.O. Wilson is a giant of modern biology. Though his work has not always been quietly accepted, his ideas and opinions are undoubtedly an invaluble resorce to the world. In this huge book, Wilson presents what he believes are the 57 most important essays on the current state of Earth's biodiversity.
Being assigned summer reading, my teacher was convinced that I would love this book. He obviousely thought highly of it and so I began reading with an open mind. I'm so glad I did because the issues presented took my breath away. We are living in the middle of the largest mass extinction Earth has ever seen. Right now. These essays bring the reader completely up to speed on what is being destroyed, what efforts are being done to save the Earth, and what further efforts need to begin.
I can honestly say that my career path may have been steered more in the direction of biology after finshing Biodiversity. Everyone should read this book - I can garrentee that it will be a great enlightening experience.

Plant genetic resources are crucial for world agriculture, food security and the global economy. The patents and intellectual property rights (IPRs) associated with the development of new crops and other products are often critical to trade. Yet there is no unified international framework for a fair IPR regime in genetic resources.
This book examines the international agreements relevant to IPRs: the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), the World Trade Organization's TRIPS Agreement; and the Convention of the International Union for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants (UPOV). It sets out to establish an equitable IPR regime for biodiversity taking into account: ethical concerns over patenting life forms; environmental and social impacts; technology transfer; and the relation between traditional knowledge and IPRs.
The book provides the first full-scale account of how to integrate the requirements of the CBD into the global IPR regime.
