You guys all know that being a lawyer could be a very hectic and demanding job! This book doesn't deny that cliche-it helps you get the right picture about lawyer's world and for lawyers themselves, the rare chance to refresh their job. I think this book worth reading for whom are interested in legal career or for lawyers, of course!

I passed this exam after studying with only this book. There were a few errors in it, and some of the information is slightly out-of-date (e.g., the IRA contribution limits listed are a few years out of date). Overall, however, I found it to be very useful and well-organized.
Pretty good guide, not great.......2007-01-23
This guide provided me with a lot of useful information, however, there are some things on the test that could not be answered from this guide. I really like how options and bonds are documented. However, I did not like how market regulations and account set-ups are documented. Good luck if you're testing!
Errors on test exams.......2007-01-18
Generally good book, but be careful of errors. There are a number of errors in the text and in exam questions, for instance question 224 (exam 1), answer given is A, but correct answer is C by its own description.
I hope this wasn't a real test at one point.....
Errors in text as well.....
Example: Stop Limit Orders become Limit orders, not stop orders. i.e. will never become market orders....See SEC definition.

I used this book as a supplement to an online course, to fill gaps and to obtain a different prospective on the subject matter. I loved that it has no "water" in it, rather it is straight to the point, reducing study time, with great "Exam Topic" alerts and an excellent post-chapter summaries, which I used for the "morning of", last minute refresher. The books has good graphics, charts, appropriately used highlights (for good layout and text flow), making studying a breeze. I passed after 20 days of studying with 89% (possibility of attaining the same result is not implied or guaranteed hereby :) .)
Good Study Guide.......2006-03-28
This book was very helpful in preparing for the Series 7. My employer is providing a more detailed and comprehensive study program, but this book was a very nice additional prep guide. It covers the material that will be tested, has practice exams, and helpful tips for the test itself. I'm glad I bought it.

Every one who wants to take the stockbroker exam (Series 7)should have this manual in their possession. A very thorough guide (reccommended for people who are going to be in the business, and are taking Series 7 classes). This guide is more than what you need for the Series 7. If you want to know about the business, or want a study guide that explains everything crystal clear (step-by-step), you may want to go with Barrons
A very good overview.......1997-03-29
If you need more than a layman's background in the market, but don't need an MBA, get this book. It is a good reference to have for anybody who has money invested in mutual funds, bonds, stocks and the such. A book like this should sit on just about anyone's book shelf, along with the dictionary and thesaurus. As for a test book, I haven't taken the test, so I can't really tell you if it is any good for that

The book gives a very comprehensive review on all subject of Series 7 exam. The test bank and the 3 full length mock exams and the actual exam questions are very alike. The book + study + time = A licensed broker and/or deal. Good luck.

Very poorly written, too many errors (from typos, to calculations, to errors on the practice exams!). The CD is also horrible. I have had to seek other sources of material because I do not believe I will pass the Series 7 with this book alone!

I just got back from my Series 7 test, and passed it with an 84! My company had given me the STC training manuals, which had me alternatively reduced to tears and/or sleep. Thank God I bought this book. Walker explains everything in clear language, and once I'd read it, it was like a lightbulb went on over my head. Okay, so I didn't get a 90. But I passed FIRST TIME, with an 84! I can't recommend this book enough.

I used this book and this book only. I work full time 40+ hours a week. I spent a good 4 weeks, (average around 1 hour a day) and passed the 7 with a 78! It was an easy read, and related it to real life. I highly recommend this book to anyone wanting to get in the securities business.

The foundations of tort law in European legal systems differ considerably. Until recently, there was no attempt to harmonize the entire field of tort law in a consistent and comprehensive manner. A group of tort law experts, the `European Group on Tort Law', is currently engaged in systematically researching the most fundamental questions underlying the various tort law systems. The result of their work is this important series of books, which seeks a common law of Europe without the need to lay these principles down in formal legal texts, such as a European civil code. In this volume, the authors provide an overview of strict liability and its importance in establishing such liability under their respective national tort law system. The concept of strict liability is further examined in an analysis of actual cases. This volume also contains an economic analysis of this area of tort law as well as a comparative report which summarizes and compares the most important elements identified by the individual country reports. In summary, this volume tries to show the common grounds of strict liability in the various legal systems under examination. In addition, it provides the academic and the practitioner with the fundamental issues of strict liability in the countries covered.
