Wess Roberts is best known for his previous best-selling book, Leadership Secrets of Attila the Hun. Perhaps to use the title of "author" for The Best Advice Ever for Leaders is a slight overstatement. What Wess has done is to compile a book of over 800 quotes that he feels will help the reader to discover and develop the various traits of leadership. Many books of quotations have been written in the past. However, Wess has created one especially for leaders. Thoughtful, and some rather unique quotations are offered on various topics from accountability through worry.
The main purpose of the book is to examine the opinions of a vast array of leaders that transcend geography, cultural and historical boundaries. As the author states in his introduction, "The Best Advice Ever for Leaders takes this approach by collecting ideas from a vast range of leaders from virtually every walk of life, every part of the world, and every era of human history." The goal of this book is to study leadership with an open mind, knowing that not every quotation is meaningful to every circumstance, place or time.
You will find quotations from individuals as diverse as Lao-tzu, Mark Twain, Lee Iacocca, Irving Berlin and George Washington. Special credit should also be given to Wess Roberts for providing footnotes after each quote to help us understand who the individual was, and a small segment about their life, so we can put their quotations in a balanced perspective. Most of these quotations are rare and seldom to be found in other publications. Here is an example under the topic of Disposition...

This compact book is a compilation of quotes by Dr. Edward Deming the father of modern quality management. The quotes run the range of immediately understandable to subtle to provocative. I use this book for two purposes. To stimulate my own mind when I need to be inspired, and as a source to teach others. I like to use one or two of these quotes when I give a presentation because they help reinforce the message and hold the audiences attention. Quotations on the Business of Life Part II, is full of clever sayings that, like the original, will amuse, educate and stimulate. Pour yourself a glass of wine, sit down, and enjoy the wisdom and humor captured in these short phrases. Their ingenious insight is guaranteed to astound and may even lead you to exclaim, "Damn, I wish I'd said that." Well now you can--or at least you can quote it!

This is an easy read and excellent explaination of how to shop the healthy way. The book explains food additives, chemical contaminants, pesticides in our food, understanding food labesl, pathogens, processed foods, comparison shopping and organically grown foods.
It also gives ideas for making nutritious school lunches so that your kids will eat healthy meals when away from home.
If you're trying to eat healthy and want to start buying organic foods, this is an excellent book to buy to begin your journey.
