Fall in Love with Brush-McCoy.......2000-05-10
Great history given on the different lines. Super explanations throughout! Excellent pictures shown with many catalog reprints (the detail from these reprints is harder to see), but I have an older 1978 book as well, and these reprints are super! I don't even need the other book now!
I, also, had several pieces that had remained unidentified thru other sources, but found in this book! Great reference, super learning tool, and a seperate value guide (although I find it hard to use, as it keeps falling out of the book). I find myself looking through it over and over again, as the pictures are super, detail is great, and I just might find that piece of unmarked pottery from having this book handy! Now to get Book 2!

Off To A Good Start..........2002-09-08
A few things about the title of the book are slightly misleading, which I will get out of the way up-front. First of all, this book in no way encourages you to start a California corporation on your own. This is not a do-it-youself kit that walks you through the process of forming a corporation. Rather, it is largely aimed at helping you to decide what type of business entity is appropriate for your company, and how to get started. It gives comparisons between C-Corporations, S-Corprations, LLCs, sole-proprietorships, partnerships, etc. It comes to the author's slightly biased (but correct) conclusion that all but corporations are inappropriate for most business use.
Another problem with the title, but which is more of an oddity than a real issue, is that the cover and title refer to forming a corporation as "A Simple 9-Part Program". Once you get the actual book though, you will find that the cover and title vary slightly from what is advertised. It is actually "A Simple 6-Part Program"! I am not sure what happened to the 3 other "simple parts", but they somehow disapperared between the time I ordered the book, and the time I received it! Odd, but unimportant.
One other point, there is not a great deal of information in this book specific to the State of California. Most of it is more general in nature concerning corporations. Also, some of the info is slightly dated, as it was published in 1998. The reference section definitely could stand to be updated with website addresses, rather than just mailing addresses and phone numbers. The vast majority of general information still applies though, and has not changed since the time this book was initially written.
The author of this book is a lawyer, and urges you to go through one when starting your California Corporation. For anyone even considering doing something as foolish as filing to become a corporation on their own, this book will set them straight. The book does help you with may items that you would likely have to pay an attorney extra for though, such as providing templates for many forms, and answering many questions that would cost you big bucks to get your attorney to answer. All in all, it is an excellent value, and will save you quite a bit of time and effort when it comes to finding answers to simple questions as to how to get started. Although you will not really be able to run a corporation after reading this book, at least you know exactly what you are up against, and where to get started. The author's writing style is excellent, and the book was enjoyable enough to read, for such a relatively dull subject.
Covers a lot of information, but not very thoroughly.......1998-08-24

Which MBA? A Critical Guide to the World's Best MBAs (14th Edition)
George Bickerstaffe Manufacturer: Financial Times Prentice Hall ProductGroup: Book Binding: Paperback Similar Items: ASIN: 0273663119 |
Book Description
The MBA is becoming a necessity for anyone wanting to explore new career opportunities, accelerate personal development and increase their salary, but taking an MBA isn't a decision that should be taken lightly.
There is a lot to consider, such as financing, choosing the right program school, format, duration, location etc. Finding the right program for the individual can make the difference between an enjoyable and rewarding experience, or an unhappy and frustrating one.
Which MBA? sets out to answer all the questions of a prospective student. For the first time, it also offers a ranking of the business schools included in the directory section, based on data supplied by the business schools themselves and by their students and alumni.
Customer Reviews:
Not bad for a quick start.......2003-03-19
I prefer this book than browsing the net because at a glance you can have interesting information of many, many MBA's and the information is well organized. GMAT means, ratio applications/accepted, strong subjects, deadlines, number or students, main features, % of student body, all the basic information to get to know what an MBA may you offer and wheter it's appealing depending on your targets.
The europen chapter is better than anyone. The U.S. chapter is not wide enough, but not bad.
If you are deciding to which MBA you should apply, this book will help you to shorten your starting list and focus on 10 to 12 MBA programs. Then which one to choose it's up to you
Good International, Bad USA.......2003-01-25
Interesting statistics, good summaries. But pretty duplicative of any other book, web site, WSJ, BW, etc.
Except for international. Very highly recommended if you're looking at international schools off the beaten path.
Getting long in the tooth.
Great guide and now a great site.......2002-10-10
In addition, they have just launched a website alongside the print guide...
Best guide we have found for European business schools!.......2002-07-06
Best for people who want to study in Europe.......2002-06-26
The approach for European schools is the same, but I know of no other book that mentions more than even, say, half a dozen European schools. This book has about 100 pages of info on British schools (which is almost as much as they have for the U.S.) and almost as much again for "continental" Europe. So if you are interested in schools in Europe beyond the top six or so, you will actually need this book. It will be handy (but incomplete, since it lacks much qualitative information).
If you are a U.S. student (or intend to be), the basic Business Week guide gives the same basic information and adds a lot of qualitative info to. Buy it instead for this country.

India With Passion: Modern Regional Home Food
Manju Malhi Manufacturer: Interlink Publishing Group ProductGroup: Book Binding: Hardcover Similar Items:
ASIN: 1566566096 |
Book Description
Modern Indian home food is as varied and eclectic as any cuisine in the world. But unlike Indian restaurant cooking, it does not require legions of chefs to spend hours preparing spices and pastes or slow-cooking stews and curries. Deeply-flavored dishes are created simply, in a way that fits in with our modern busy lifestyle. The regions of India have long enjoyed different styles of food, using different ingredients and cooking techniques-and this is never more apparent than in the country's home kitchens. There are the kebabs, koftas, tikkas, dals, flatbreads, and tandoori dishes of the North, where warming dried spices bring comfort during the harsh winters. From the West, where rice is a staple, come spicy seafood and chicken dishes. The South brings us coconut dishes, vegetarian recipes, biryanis, and dosas, all flavored with deliciously fresh spices, and highlights from the East include noodles, fresh-water fish, and desserts.
Some of the dishes in India with Passion are steeped in tradition, while others are based on new creations that Manju has enjoyed in India's homes, cafes, and restaurants. But all are authentically Indian, rich in flavor, and simple to cook.
