I enjoyed reading the book. It has some very creative examples and very humorous section titles. Everything You Need To Know About Economics is a great review of economics in general and I recommend it to anyone who would like to have a learn more or brush up on economic principles.

When I first picked it up I was very unsure of what I was getting in to. I wasn't sure if this would just another dry all-in-one type book with loads of info. Rather this book by Fike and Stebben, puts Economics in real life terms! Easy read and very easy to follow, makes Econ. and enjoyable subject, unlike those college classes.

I picked up this book cos I knew SQUAT about physics...and now that I've read it, well, I still don't know much, but I know a bit more than squat. It doesn't go too deeply into any particular theory, but it is successful in condensing all the major ones into funny, easily digestible tidbits. -contains tons of tables, sidebars and anecdotes, plus book recommendations every 5 pages or so! The author(s) has a touch for breaking concepts down into everyday terms and a fine sense of humor (despite an incredibly inappropriate out-of-nowhere moral condemnation of Bill Clinton? ). It's a fun and incredibly quick read.

Although relatively short at only 140-odd pages, this was one of the best AML books back in 2002. It is concisely written and takes the reader through the history of the anti-money laundering effort, the current best practices in the field, and some descriptive case reviews. The book is written in an expanded outline style, which, along with a detailed table of contents, makes referencing specific sections very easy.

Since 2002, much has been added to the library of money laundering and terrorist financing. This book, however, would still be a good place for someone new to the field to start with.

The gap between demand for consumer goods and their efficient supply is greater now than at any other time, and is widening as consumers' wants become less predictable, and suppliers struggle to meet them. Quick Response (QR) is both a management paradigm and a methodology that allows supply systems to react quickly to changes while improving their performance. QR aims to help organize a business in the face of problems associated with the vast array of goods and services now to be found in consumer markets. It is particularly relevant to the Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) and Fashion industries. QR works by compressing the time between product or service design concept and appearance on the retail shelf. It then takes advantage of such recent technologies as Point of Sale (PoS) tracking and Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) to constantly up-date estimates of true consumer demand, and then places intelligent re-orders for goods with flexible manufacturers and their suppliers. One of the features of this book is the demonstration that the range of industries able to benefit from the application of QR methodologies is extremely wide. However, this apparent universality comes with a strong 'health warning'. By placing QR in a broad framework of management thinking, the book allows comparison with other paradigms and their off-shoots - partnerships and alliances, measurement and benchmarking, Information Systems Technology strategies, Total Quality Management, and change management. Belief systems such as World Class Manufacturing, Lean Production, Agile Manufacturing, Virtual Organization, Time-Based Competition, Supply Chain Management (SCM) and chaos theory, are also reviewed and contrasted. The book then quantifies the performance benefits that accrue from the application of QR using examples from the US and European industries as well as computer simulation. Lessons are also drawn from a wide variety of SMEs (Small and Medium sized Enterprises) who are using QR as a strategic tool, as well as those who have not yet adopted it. For the latter, there are recommendations for implementing QR. The future management and research directions required for full exploitation of QR are also explored in a separate section. The most important aspect of this book is that it concentrates on the practical, hands-on management of a supply pipeline as opposed to the generalized theories of Supply Chain Management.

As indicated by the title, this book is about supply chain management in the consumer product goods and retail industry sectors. There are several chapters on the evolution of Quick Response in the 1980's to Supply Chain Management in the 1990's. The outstanding feature of the book is that the authors have included real case studies and based their findings on a decade of solid research into sourcing, forecasting and replenishment. There are many quantitative findings published from their research with retailers and manufacturers using simulation tools and quantitative analysis.

In this paper, we consider a decentralized supply chain consisting of two independent players-a manufacturer and a retailer. Under a quantity flexibility contract, the retailer first proposes an initial forecast as the production reference to the manufacturer. Then she uses Bayesian procedure to update demand information, and makes ultimate purchase commitment, which is constrained by the negotiated flexibility and the manufacturer's production. We model the incentives of both parties and investigate the effect of flexibility @w, transfer price c and number of Bayesian updates n on the performance of two parties. Our theoretical analysis and numerical results show that given other parameters fixed, more flexibility always benefits the retailer, while the manufacturer can only benefit from very small quantity flexibility. In addition, this contract allows them to share the benefits from information updating.

In this paper we investigate the quick response (QR) policy with different Bayesian models. Under QR policy, a retailer can collect market information from the sales of a pre-seasonal product whose demand is closely related to a seasonal product's demand. This information is then used to update the distribution for the seasonal product's demand by a Bayesian approach. We study two information update models: one with the revision of an unknown mean, and the other with the revision of both an unknown mean and an unknown variance. The impacts of the information updates under both models are compared and discussed. We also identify the features of the pre-seasonal product which can bring more significant profit improvement. We conclude that an effective QR policy depends on a precise information update model as well as a selection of an appropriate pre-seasonal product as the observation target.

This book keeps your recipes all in one place. It's also a 3 ring binder which helps when you want to add pages to your book. The dividers are also folders. All in all, this recipe keeper is great.

I purchased this book for a friend of mine who is getting married. She had everyone who came to her bridal shower bring a recipe and I thought this would be good way to organize all her new recipes. I liked it so much I had to order one for myself!

Perfect for me.......2007-07-14

I'm on a special diet so I collect recipes from everywhere, internet magazines, people.. etc. This recipe binder holds everything. Only a couple of negatives to cause me to give it a 4. It's a big three ring binder, makes it easier to accommodate those people who print on standard size paper, but also makes it a bit heavy and a little awkward in the kitchen. The divider tabs are preprinted so if you prefer different categories, you you have to mark over or make a sticky label to go over them. There are plenty of blank pages that you can fill in by hand if you like, or do like me and make a template on your computer and print out on them perfectly. There are handy pockets in the divider pages for clippings and there are several sticky filmed pages (like photo albums have) for recipes as well.

I love this Recipe Keeper binder with recipes on the thick, glossy dividers. I found it easy to print recipes on my computer printer using the colorful empty pages included in this book. I recieved this as a wedding gift from my mother. I love it so much because it catorizes recipes and has additional sheets to keep your own recipes. It's good for newlyweds because i was able to have my future mother in law add all recipes she makes for my fiance, my mother added all the recipes she makes for our family, and others write down some favorites. It's one of my favorite things in my new kitchen.

This recipe binder definitely has it all. Wonderfully organized with plenty of pages, plus small enough to fit in a kitchen drawer. It's hard to find a decent recipe binder these days, but this one is definitely the best I've seen. I loved it so much I got one for my mom!
