I borrowed this book to read, but now I realise I have to buy a copy of my own. A good book to read and keep for reference. Intellectual property is a hot and popular subject in many corporations these days and also amongst artists, musicians, educators etc. We are all either on the distribution or receiving end of digital property. Lesley certainly knows what she is talking about, and she clarifies many issues such as protecting your IP, Digital Property and the Internet, Trademarks & Copyright etc. Digital Property is indisputably the currency of the 21st Century. It's our obligation to value it.

The book came in a sealed cover. Although it looks brand new, it does say it is "used". You would never know it. It came in a timely manner and when I followed up w/the seller to see when it shipped, they sent me back an e-mail within a few hours. I would highly recommend using Off Campus Athens again.

Everyone should have a copy of this book, is very helpful and easy to read as well. The writers were very strait forward with their information. My son received this recipe box for his fourth birthday. Though he can't read the full recipes yet, he loves going through the box and alphabetizing the letters, and is keeping track of which recipes we make and which we have yet to make. We've probably made about half of them so far, and there hasn't been a dud in the bunch. It's probably worth it just for Nifty Asian Noodles, which has become a standard lunch and dinner in our household (we double it). The Whole Wheat Pretzels are also a huge hit. We've just had a great time making these recipes together, and it's nice that they're not all cookies (we had done quite a bit of cookie baking together up until this point, and it's nice to make some savory recipes with him too). He also loves the stickers that are included to stick onto the recipes after you make them.
I'm buying several of these to give as Christmas and birthday gifts. These are just the thing to have in your gift closet, if you're geeky and organized like me and have such a thing.

This recipe box is incredible. I purchased it for my 6yr old for her birthday along with an apron and kid oven mits. We have only done 5 recipes so far but all of them are very good, pretty healthy and most of all - fun and easy for kids. My daughter begs at least 3-4x a week to make a new recipe and hasn't let up. The premade recipe cards aren't laminated but they are made of wipable material similar to board books which is nice. There is one for each letter of the alphabet and they act as the divider for each letter once you add additional recipes. She can read them herself and does about 90% of the recipe on her own. They are not too simple or basic like sandwiches or chocolate chip cookies but aren't anything extensive and time consuming either. There are appetizers, breakfast lunch and dinner items and of course desserts! Some examples are: vegetable soup, lemon hummus dip, blueberry cobbler, cheese fondue in a bread bowl, whole wheat baked soft pretzels, honey cookies, zucchini sticks, "surprise" muffins, johnny cakes, cheesy mac and cheese etc... The extra cards (26 of them) are made of thick stock paper. Once we start adding recipes onto them, I will laminate them myself so they survive longer. Even though I love the idea of adding your own recipes, I truly hope there is an option in the future to add more premade recipes. The cards each have fun facts, variations of the recipe and cute pictures. This is available at in store at Pottery Barn Kids. Great birthday present to give to kids ages 5-10. Highly recommend!

Yummy recipes, easy-to-follow instructions, cute illustrations, all wrapped up in a nifty recipe card box. The recipes are fun and healthy versions of foods kids like to eat. I have three kids and try very hard to encourage them to eat nutritious foods -- versions of old favorites like Cheese-iest Cheese and Macaroni and Nifty Asian Noodles make it a lot easier to ensure that they are eating healthily and having fun too! My kids enjoy cooking and they love eating the foods they prepare. Now, I just need to teach them to do the dishes and I will be able to take the night off!

Marcel Desaulniers is a brilliant chef and a magician with chocolate, but the star of this book is the artist, Nancy Garner Thomas. Several of her works grace the walls of his Williamsburg restaurant. Her artwork is playful, inspiring and will make you laugh. So many of his books are fabulous, but this one is truly about the art.

This book was very cute which is why I gave it such a high rating. This book is a poor example of how to rhyme. There are several lines in this book that are close to rhyming but it isn't quite there in several instances. Good for teaching counting up and backwards from ten.

As a third grade teacher, I found this book useful on the 55th day of school. After reading the book, the children made a pyramid using manipulatives for the bats. We used 1" tiles. This demonstrates a growing pattern using +1 pattern to grow with. This is a nice lead-in to multiplication.

...and we're a childless family. We recommend you get this in hardcover, as it's a definate re-read (like, lots of times). We love the mix of vaudeville, bats, and the whimsical rhymes. If something "Wasn't quite as fun as 'The Corgiville Fair'" (see the book by Tasha Tudor), then it often was "As fun as 'The Bat Jamboree'"...only because the Bat Jamboree is only for several hours (vs. all day). We've bought several copies of BJ for diverse audiences. One copy we gave to an old vaudeville fan, and another to our governor's baby daughter (there were bats infesting the governors' mansion about the time the book came out). A third went to an employee of an old drive-in theatre. A joy for young and old. You'll be "batty" over it.

Seven alphabets.......2007-03-23
Plaques, bulletin boards, watering cans, floor cloths and step stools are just a few of the surfaces we put words on. The question for me always is which font do I use and how do I make the letters look the same size. SOMETHING TO SAY PAINTED ALPHABETS solves that problem. With the seven alphabets in this booklet, one is sure to fit the project you are creating.
Three pages provide general instructions on sanding, sealing, pattern transferring and several other painting terms and how-to's. Each alphabet is shown at full size and there are five step-by-step projects to create. The patterns are located in the pull-out section in the center of the booklet. And there is even a paint conversion chart just in case you don't have all the colors you need by the same manufacturer.
