Book Description

Recorded history is a finely-woven magic fabric of intricate lies about events predating the sixteenth century. There is not a single piece of evidence that can be reliably and independently traced back earlier than the eleventh century. This book details events that are substantiated by hard facts and logic, and validated by new astronomical research and statistical analysis of ancient sources.

Yes, we can all agree that mainstream history is nearly 100% BS due to politics, economics, ego, problems with dating techniques, and various conspiracies. Agreed. But, I've been researching the distinct possibility that human history (in terms of civilizations) are much more ancient than we've been told, so coming across this book was very interesting to me. I wondered how Fomenko could be wrong (if at all) because he is very persuasive in his presentations. Then it dawned on me. If at previous times in prehistory, due to the various catastrophies that are well documented (comets, asteroids, planetary disruptions, plasma discharge, pole reversals, etc) the Earth was in a different position in relation to the sun, different tilt on its axis, different orbit, different rotation (in terms of velocity and DIRECTION), and the continents were in different positions, then would this not cause the ancients to see the sky (constellations) differently? In other words, is Fomenko making erronious assumptions about the physics of the Earth in pre-history, which then corrupt his data with regards to dating the relevant astrology? The last event to seriously disrupt our planet occured roughly 3500 years ago, according to other good researchers, so is it possible Fomenko has been confused by this? The vastly different physics of our planet in the not so distant past may explain this confusion, which is not to say the "mainstream" version of history is correct; on the contrary. I am not an expert in these fields, but wanted to see if this idea could spark discussion.

Will people ever read before spamming? Yes, Jesuits could not rewrite world history alone, they had help. Anyway, Dr Prof Acad A.Fomenko does not point to jesuits as the driving force of world wide history manipulation in published volumes 1,2,3;, actually he barely mentions the poor devils. Check it with 'Search inside' feature, please. China is rarely mentioned either, in fact, Dr Fomenko is completely eurocentric. Right, his theory contradicts all mainstream schools of history, because in their actual state they are all built on blatantly erroneus chronology. You don't need a mysterious cabal (conspiracy) to falsify history, the falsification is its modus operandi. It is inherent to history(ians) to falsify (distort) events, as it is inherent to humans to boast as it is inherent to power (authority) to legimize itself by referrring to glorious past made to its own order. Dr Prof Fomenko and team have identified scores of instances of such manipulation in Russian, European, etc.. history, and delivered valid statistical proof thereof. His own 'reconstruction' is completely another story. Forget c14 as a valid method of dating. W.Libby has initially discovered a brilliant method of INDEPENDENT dating. Too bad, c14 method has become a joke after a forced marrige with dendrochronology with consensual chronological scale inbuilt. Radiocarbon method can't stand blind tests, but is so very productive as a rubberstamp.

5 out of 5 stars Accepted History & Chronology Must Be Changed. .......2007-04-09

There is no doubt that history as most know it is a sham, & institution's version of History both University & Church is fradulent & inaccurate. Everything was established with an agenda, The real "Dark Ages" are now when we have access to incredible amounts of information past authorities & more important 'common folk' didn't have but our institutions & educators are slow to evolve because of what has ignorantly & arrogantly been taught for too long. This is on many subjects not just Chronology.

For anyone to question "Why would a Mathematician have anything credible to say of History?" The answer is from Dr. Fomenko's preface in the book: "It would be worthwhile to remind the reader that in the XVI-XVII century Chronology was considered to be a subdivision of Mathematics." These volumes could possibly be some of the most important works to date & should be read by everyone with an interest in History, especially professors & educators who have a duty to the public. I have read both books & must say that 'Chronology 1' has some very eye opening & revolutionary information. Even if these volumes are part true the implications are profound & opens the doors to further investigations & questions which must be done. I speak several different lanquages & must say the logic Dr. Fomenko uses with "inflection" of words & words being read from left to right in one region & right to left in another then written backwards, the removal of vowels & get down to basics of words, or different cities & locations having the same name etc. is correct. Vowel usage has always been optional & varied, actually complicating linquistics & study. The first thing one has to understand is that words never had a fixed spelling in history like we do now, the spelling of words was mutable & regional, as well as names & titles of people were vast, varied & changed, NOTHING WAS FIXED or understood linear. Matters of Life & Death as well as financial profiteering yesterday & today were & are made with ignorant, illogical & conspiratorial views of history & reality, it's time people get closer to the Truth & society collectively grow up.

It is a good proposal and I believe it will mature into something even better in the future. I think it deserves to be read.

4 out of 5 stars History as Science Fiction.......2007-01-10

Anatoly Fomenko has written a very intriguing book, full of pictures, charts, and computer 'proof' of his thesis: backwards of AD900 we don't really know what happened or when. Between AD900 and AD1600 there is more certainty, but there is still a lot of fuzzy ground, and things don't get reliable until we get past the 1600's where the printing press made it very difficult for the perpetrators of this timeline manipulation to change anything that had been committed to print. The Dark Ages did not happen. Books were burned for a reason. One organization has doubled the actual length of its existence by expanding the real chronology. Read why.

I had always wondered why Christ died about AD33 and yet men waited until the 11th century to form the Knights Templar, the Cathars, etc and go after the Holy Land by force. Why the 1000 year gap? Turns out there wasn't more than a 10-12 year gap and he proves it using astronomy. This also implies that the planet is not as old as we have been told, and current Christian and other creationist scientists are already championing that idea without being aware of Fomenko's book. The two groups, creationist scientists and the Russian mathematical analysts corroborate each other. Fascinating.

Of course, all this flies in the face of what we have been told traditionally is the 'proper' chronology of western civilization, and most readers will experience 'cognitive dissonance' in reading this book. It means that our history going backwards from AD1600 becomes progressively more incorrect and unreliable until it cannot be trusted at all... in the space of 700-800 years.

Naturally, the curious, open-minded reader will want to know WHO did this, WHY, and did any of the events we think of as really ancient ever happen?
Dr. Fomenko is a respected scientist/mathematician at Moscow State University who has already answered these questions to the satisfaction of his initially skeptical colleagues. Most of them are now believers, a few still refuse to believe (the usual diehards), and of course the western press has ignored Fomenko's work -- for obvious reasons when you read the book. The ones who perpetrated this chronology ruse have a lot to answer for. They are still with us. That's why this book is a well-kept secret.

I gave the book a 4-star rating because I was unable to check out some of his claims; those I checked were as he said. But if even 1/3 of his claims are true, this punches a big hole in what we think is our history, the meaning of western civilization, our educational process (for repeating the ruse as gospel), and the trustworthiness of the organization that perpetrated this ruse, well-intentioned or not.

This book relates to current research into a Young Earth paradigm, to John Keel's discoveries about our planet, and Fr Malachi Martin's insights (in his now out-of-print books). We are indeed sheep who are manipulated and kept ignorant -- for a reason. While knowing what these men have to say may be the "booby prize" (as in: 'what can you do with this knowledge?'), it will provide interesting reading. Didn't someone say: "...and the Truth will set you free."?? For you to judge if this book contains the truth.

    Book Description

European Works Councils were established just over a decade ago as the first transnational industrial relations institutions at company level. They have had a major impact on goverments, employers, employees and trade unions as well as being the subject of intense academic scrutiny and debate. This edited collection draws from each of these sources with contributions from leading academics, senior trade unionists and employers.
The book is organized around four distinctive themes. The first introduces European Works Councils and provides overviews that will inform the understanding of both newcomers to the subject and specialists. The second part of the book focuses on an assessment of the European Directive 'in action' with contributions from European employers and trade union representatives. The third part, focuses on the experience of managers and trade unionists in facing the problems and possibilities involved in running a European Works Council. The final section takes us into the future of EuropeanWorks Councils in a globalized economy. Published at a time of major review of the European Directive, this book provides a unique review of developments from the perspective of both practitioners and academics.
With case studies, theoretical overviews, data analysis and contrasting opinions, this book will be essential reading for advanced students and researchers of Business and Management Studies, Industrials Relations and Employee Relations.

Though the world's population continues to grow, total fertility rates are dropping below replacement level in many parts of the world. The Baby Bust, a landmark book of essays by demographic, economic, and political science experts, examines the global birth dearth and its causes, implications, and policy options. Focusing in large part on the United States, this book also includes data from Europe and Japan and makes important comparisons between the three regions. It concludes with suggestions for making America's future sound and prosperous, through the regularization and legalization of appropriate levels of immigration; enhancing governmental efforts to increase productivity; and finally, ending the present waste of so many underutilized members of the workforce, particularly minorities and the poor. Book Description

This essay discusses the activities of those in North-West England who, during the Second World War, were unwilling to participate in military action, whether for religious and moral or for political reasons. Many overcame their individualism in order to form a variety of groupings, partly for self-protection but mainly in order to demonstrate their willingness and capacity to undertake social tasks they considered beneficial. Humanitarian activities, for instance, in relation to victims of bombing led to a more general interest in helping disadvantaged families. This in turn led up to the formation of Pacifist Service Units and the development of "case-work" social activities. After the war these units, dropping their pacifist connection, generated the Family Service Units movement, where family case-work was widely respected as an essential feature of national social and community policy.

        4 out of 5 stars The EU doesn't work!.......2001-08-04

In this well-researched book, David Smith investigates work and its prospects across the European Union. He notes that the EU is marked by high rates of unemployment and low rates of employment. If it had the same employment rate as the USA, there would be an extra 34 million people in work. In France in 1997, the employment rate for men between 15 and 24 was only 16.5%. For men between 55 and 64, the employment rate in Britain was 59%, yet it was more than 65% in the USA.

Smith argues that entering the euro would cause even more unemployment, because Economic and Monetary Union is designed to create more mergers with their inevitable job losses. Also, to manage the economic differences with other countries, the Government would have to make changes in the real economy by sacking people and cutting wages, because it could no longer manage these differences by altering the exchange rate.

So entering the euro would not achieve full employment. But some now argue that this can never be done under any circumstances, so we might as well join the euro anyway. However, we can achieve full employment, by investing in industry. And we can do it without the extra taxes or loans that Smith asserts would be needed.

We can raise the money in a variety of ways. We could redirect the £35 billion that British companies invest abroad every year. We could demand that Britain adopts a more realistic foreign policy and defence posture: cutting the Foreign Officeýs bloated costs, ending overseas military aid, and withdrawing troops from Ireland, Bosnia, Kosovo and Sierra Leone would save us billions by. We could use all this money to modernise plant and machinery, set up new industries and firms, and rebuild our transport and energy systems

Every country in the EU could carry out a similar kind of investment programme. And if this programme conflicts with the EUýs rules, too bad! If we need to take democratic control over our own economies to achieve full employment, then that is what we will have to do.

From the supplier: Family services for working parents in Europe need further examination because of their tendency to encourage unequal distribution of family responsibilities between men and women. An example of this trend is Sweden's policies on part-time work and flexible work hours that isolate women from the male workforce. Women employees in the region should appeal for favorable workplace policies to increase male participation in raising families.

                  Book Description

THE ART OF CLOSING ANY DEAL takes readers into the trenches of the psychological war called selling-and who better than sales guru James W. Pickens to give them the hard-hitting ammunition for every type of customer out there. From the 'I'm just looking' to the 'Know-it-all' to the 'I don't care' and the 'yes-man', Pickens takes aim at them all. Readers will learn to control buyers since the author's simulated conversations will arm them with winning and positive comebacks for every negative customer reply. Closing secrets include: deadly closing tips to make people buy; unbeatable closer responses to the most common objectives; how to read the customer's emotions and use perfect timing to nail the lid on the final close; and more. Readers will ultimately learn how to conquer buyers, as Pickens' take-no-prisoners techniques show them how to move in for the final attack.

2 out of 5 stars The Art of Manipulation.......2007-04-07

This book is a cleverly repackaged version of "The Closers" written many years ago by Ben Gay III. While there is some powerful sales technique in this book the book centers itself around manipulating a prospect into the buying decision and encourages the use of hi-pressure. A salesman may gain some great insights into sales but must guard against losing some of their ethical balance in the process.

5 out of 5 stars One of the very, very best sales books........2007-01-09

I'm a high ticket salesman and devour sales books looking for the nuggets of gold within them. Even the most shallow of sales books have one or two things in them that you can learn, adapt, and use. Then there are books that have whole veins of gold running through them. This is one of them.
For what it's worth, here's my take on the book: If you need any help on closing, then this book is a masterpiece.

5 out of 5 stars The best book for selling.......2006-11-25

This is by far the best I've ever read. Gives details on how to sell and close customers. Detailed information includes customer excuses for not wanting to buy and response to those excuses.

4 out of 5 stars the art of closing any deal, how to be a master closer.......2006-03-20

exactly what you need if you consider your self weak in closing like I did. I was selling timeshare and now I'm selling real estate and insurance and I learned a lot from the book and I recommend it to anyone who needs to harden up and sell!

1 out of 5 stars The Art of Closing Any Deal.......2005-12-11

This the worst book I have ever read on the Profession of selling. One can picture this bust out in white shoes, a white belt, oily hair, and checks and plaid.

This is clearly a book to read on WHAT NOT TO DO. Very smarmy....

Would have given 0 star, but you don't offer that ranking.

                    Book Description

Are the combined human resources at CONSUMER CREDIT HOLDINGS LTD. productive? There is no absolute answer to this question. This report considers the extent to which the company's labor deployment indicators differ from global benchmarks. In this report we consider forecasts of differences between labor ratios and the resulting return on this human investment compared to global benchmarks; the estimation of such differences is commonly called a "gap analysis." What is the ratio of short-term and long-term assets to employee? What are typical capital-labor ratios? How different are these ratios to companies serving the same link in the value chain? What are the average sales and net profits per employee compared to global benchmarks? These and over 50 other indicators of labor productivity are considered in this report. The report does so by going beyond traditional analyses by considering companies competing in the same or similar industrial classification at a global level. The goal of this report, therefore, is to assist consultants, human resource managers, strategic planners, and corporate officers in gauging estimates of a company's human resource indicators compared to firms competing or participating in the same economic sector, at the global level. This report is not about whether a particular company or industry has performed well or poorly in the past or will do so in the future. With the globalization of markets, greater foreign competition, and the reduction of entry barriers, it becomes all the more important to benchmark a company's human resource indicators against other firms on a worldwide basis. Doing so, however, is not an obvious task. First, one needs to find firms competing in the same sector, but not necessarily competing directly with the company in local markets. These firms should not be perceived, therefore, to be direct competitors to the company in question, but simply those that have been classified by various sources (e.g. EDGAR or similar foreign filings), as competing to serve customers in the same link of the value chain, or broad industrial classification, as identified by SIC, NAICS or similar codes. Second, given the international nature of the task, one needs to control for exchange rate volatility. Finally, one needs use comparable financial standards. This report overcomes these issues and gives full human resources benchmarks vis-a-vis worldwide competitors who are present in the same narrow industrial classification. Benchmarks cover labor-asset ratios, labor-liability ratios, and labor-income ratios. Since our reports are printed on demand, the statistics reported are for the latest quarter and are the most up to date available (4 updates are produced each year). Each report provides over 100 statistics and 40 graphs to the reader. This reports is on CONSUMER CREDIT HOLDINGS LTD., DURBAN, South Africa.
