Customer Reviews:
Good book -- Great Art.......2007-09-14
This was a great art book. Not much for post processing. The Art and style are worth the price.
Techniques? More like showcase.......2007-05-07
After reading the previous reviews of the product I thought the book would feature more discussion in regards to setup of the particular shot and the related post-processing in Photoshop. However, I found the book to be lacking in both. There was hardly any in-depth discussion about post-processing techniques in Photoshop.
A Must Have!.......2005-09-29
What's truly amazing about this book is that it combines high quality artistic nudes, by talented photographers throughout the world, with in-depth discussion of techniques. It's rare to find both in the same book, and to find them so well integrated. The quality of the images is so high that I could well have bought it for the photos alone - something that almost never is the case with photo how-to books! And, the reproduction quality is absolutely amazing, rivaling that of some of the highest quality hard-bound coffee table books! And, that leads me to the final point ... The price is actually reasonable, because it is in paperback form (not really paper, but rather that high quality durable plastic clad type of "paper"). If you like books with artistic nudes, this one is a must have!
Comments from a contributing photographer.......2005-08-05
When first approached to contribute images to Erotique Digitale I was dubious. I had never heard of Illex Press (Cambrige, England; the European publisher), nor had I heard of Thomson Course Technology (Boston; publisher in the USA). Both, as I discovered, are top-shelf publishing houses, far advanced in the trade. It matters to me where my images are published. I am honored to be in this book.
The diversity of images, styles, and techniques represented in Digitale Erotique is quite impressive, as is the global (meaning world-wide) sweep of represented artists.
Every style and technique is clearly described and easily understood--rare attributes for books which claim to teach the digital photo arts.
I buy lots of books (and I mean LOTS of books) on fine art photography (digital, film, whatever) because it's my trade and I need to stay current on who's doing what and how they're doing it. Most (90% or more) of what I see is flat, tired, boring (the same old same old), or cheap glitzy snap shots posing as art.
Here's the point: I learned from this book. This book sparked new ideas and techniques that I am grateful for--not to copy or mimic, mind you, but to adapt into my own unique wacky ways of seeing and working.
When artists stop learning and growing they die. Or, when artists die they stop learning and growing. If you are a photo artist, get this book and keep on living.
And, no, I don't make a percentage on sales, and I have not been compensated for this endorsement. Darn it.
An absolutely beautiful and educational book!.......2005-07-29
This book has enabled me understand and translate very complicated techniques that the top photographers in the world utilize. Plus, the book is of the highest quality, the pictures stand on their own as pieces of art.

Graphic SF Reader.......2007-09-03
Alex is the critical figure in this final conflict (at least in this series) between Heaven and Hell. Can a vampire boy, a vampire hunter, a mystic knight and an Earth Angel stop the forces of darkness, Satan, vampires and other not so fun things?
Redemption? Hmm, that would be a clue. That and bigfoot Ramos.
A satisfying end.......2001-11-09
I enjoyed this series from beginning to end, and the non-stop action of the fourth tome did not disappoint. The only thing I could have hoped for was a more solid last few pages. They won't disappoint anyone content-wise, but they could have been so much more. Oh well, if you like the rest of them, you need this one.

great for people who love to quilt.......2006-10-29
The best book available for people who love to quilt. It will help you out tremendously and you really should buy if you're into making quilts. You'll find that it's not as complicated as you thought after reading this book.
P.S. I Love You Two! Baby Collection.......2005-03-12
I love this book. I have made almost every quilt in this book - some two or three times. The patterns are easy to follow and give time saving tips. It is easy to vary the fabric to make a quilt look completely different. I don't consider myself a beginner quilter, but still find myself coming to this book again and again.
Worth the investment!.......2000-08-01
I purchased this book for a class on the "I Spy" Quilt and had great results. I have since made another I Spy quilt and two others from this book. The instructions are clear and the General Directions are very good for all beginning quilters. I have found that the quilts in this book are good for beginning to intermediate quilters. For more experienced quilters, the patterns can be adapted to be more "fussy" or complicated. The book includes some traditional favorites (Irish Chain, Tumbling Blocks) as well as some different/unique patterns. Fabric estimates are a bit on the high side, which is fine with me (I hate running short!) I recommend this book as a good resource and as good inspiration for those quilting for babies or small children.
Basic, but well done........2000-03-25
P.S. I Love You Two! is a good basic baby quilt book. The directions are clear and easy to follow. Yardages and cutting lists are given for 3 sizes--little, crib, and twin. Also included are instructions for making nursery accessories such as bumper pads, dust ruffles and crib sheets. There is not much out of the ordinary in this book, and it is probably not the best choice for an advanced seamstress, but it's a good bet for beginning or intermediate quilters.

I Love U Baby Linda Milligan.......2007-02-28
How do you order more then one copy of the same book.
Great book.......2001-04-25
This book is great for small quilts and easy to adjust to larger sizes. For strip piecing you need to convert the templates using the dimensions of the template size which isn't a problem. Great basic patterns and good instructions. The first quilt I ever made was one out of this book, and since then I've made 5 different patterns from it and will eventually make all.
Great quilt book.......2000-04-29
This is one of my favorite quilt books. It has simple basic baby quilt ideas. I took one pattern to help me design a baby shower quilt. The instructions are easy to follow. Specifications are provided for a variety of sizes.
P.S. Beautiful quilts best baby quilt book I've seen!.......1999-01-29

Customer Reviews:
Written motherly conciousness.......2001-01-03
This was the first book I bought of H. Jackson Brown. The presentation and size of the book caught my attention and after reading the introduction I was totally into it. Is very easy to read and can be completely read in about an hour. Do not ignore this book for that, this book can uplift your spirit at any time any where. I read it every once in a while to receive the peace and tranquility the book imparts beside the motherly wisdom. I an not a "romantic" but this book apply to everybody's sensible side, no matter how hidden it is.
Just a wonderful book of quotations.......2000-03-31
This is a wonderful book of quotations taken from letters written by the authors Mom to him and his sibling. It is a wondeful book with sometimes witty, sometimes funny and sometimes very true observations.

No spark........2003-02-10
Granted this book is written by his child, and is a collection of memories, it seems like a longwinded email from someone obsessed with pinning his miseries on his childhood. Peter Sellers' actions are described in poor detail, just graphic enough to muddle us through his life, and we never explore the motivations of the man. It's unfortunately not overtly sad, funny, or poignant, aside from the beginning of the book, where we see him at the end of his life and comatose in the hospital for all of a dozen pages.
A ghostwriter should have been hired, but seemingly wasn't. Read this book only if you've exhausted other Sellers sources.
Special Outlook.......1998-04-09
This book, published Less than 2 years after the death of Peter Sellers is an honest, moving look into the life of the talented, but sometime stroubled actor. Written by his son with help from other family members the book portrays Sellers as a man whose genius got the best of him. The book is fanny, sad and often touching. This book gives an insight that no one but Peter Sellers son could give. FRom their first Holidays together to the last hours in the hospital room before Peter Sellers death, teh author was there and he recounts his memories for the reader. This book is a must for any serious Sellers fan or someone who wants to understand more about the man. If you can find a copy of this book...read it!
Book Description
In P.S. I LOVE YOU, no species is immune to the lovebug's bite. From the rabbits, who affectionately call each other honeybun, to the frog who's understudying for Cupid, on February 14, everyone gets into the act.
See how the animal kingdom celebrates Valentine's Day. The Labrador puppy who's playing fetch with Cupid's arrow and the smooth-talking frog who says he's toadally yours. Everyone expects the birds to get lovey-dovey, but what about the giraffes who have to endure long-distance love? Bullas's watercolors are both sweet and silly in their portrayal of love, an emotion that arguably all creatures experience.

Bittersweet & Poignant.......2006-12-13
I have read other SD books before coming across this one and after finishing it, I had to double check to make sure it is part of the SD series and triple check it when I realized this is the first book in the whole series.
*** SPOILER***
Because the hero dies. And no matter how many times I've read it knowing how the ending will turn out, I'm still mourning for Paul. Mariah and her family housesit a mansion in Palm Springs during the summer holidays. There she meets Paul who, unfortunately, has been diagnosed with cancer. The book reads like a teenager's journal who can write. Conklin really knows how to put the reader in the character's shoes with such descriptive language and little trivial details thrown here and there to make you feel like you're in the book. Mariah is a very likable character. Unlike many characters in the SD series, it makes no mention of her status in school and she comes across as very sensitive and insightful. I also like how Conklin doesn't describe Paul Strobe as your token hot hero and we are brought to attention to his skinny legs from the start. Mariah and Paul's story is unlike any of the SD series - very poignant, sensitive, bittersweet and reflective. Sadly, the sequel to this one, Falling In Love Again, could not compare.
Memorable story that will haunt you.......2006-01-08
Mariah has all sorts of summer plans that ao awry when her parents get divorced. Now she is forced to help her mother with a summer job. She is really not looking forward to her summer and then suddenly she meets Paul. He makes everything all right in her life just because he's in it. It doesn't matter that her personal life is in limbo and things are changing, never to be the same. He helps her through it all. Then Mariah finds out Paul has cancer. Can Mariah help Paul through his ordeal that suddenly makes her problems seem so trivial?
This is a beautiful story of first love coming at a time when a teenaged girl realizes what it is like to "have to grow up" and that nothing will ever be the same. I read this book for the first time quite a few years ago when I was 11 or 12. I can't tell you how many times I have re-read it since. This story has stuck in my mind and I reflected on it often. It's a great story and helps put what turns out to be minor, workable problems of a teenaged girl into perspective.
