Book Description
Recorded history is a finely-woven magic fabric of intricate lies about events predating the sixteenth century. There is not a single piece of evidence that can be reliably and independently traced back earlier than the eleventh century. This book details events that are substantiated by hard facts and logic, and validated by new astronomical research and statistical analysis of ancient sources.

Calculations are only as good as your numbers.......2007-08-03
Yes, we can all agree that mainstream history is nearly 100% BS due to politics, economics, ego, problems with dating techniques, and various conspiracies. Agreed. But, I've been researching the distinct possibility that human history (in terms of civilizations) are much more ancient than we've been told, so coming across this book was very interesting to me. I wondered how Fomenko could be wrong (if at all) because he is very persuasive in his presentations. Then it dawned on me. If at previous times in prehistory, due to the various catastrophies that are well documented (comets, asteroids, planetary disruptions, plasma discharge, pole reversals, etc) the Earth was in a different position in relation to the sun, different tilt on its axis, different orbit, different rotation (in terms of velocity and DIRECTION), and the continents were in different positions, then would this not cause the ancients to see the sky (constellations) differently? In other words, is Fomenko making erronious assumptions about the physics of the Earth in pre-history, which then corrupt his data with regards to dating the relevant astrology? The last event to seriously disrupt our planet occured roughly 3500 years ago, according to other good researchers, so is it possible Fomenko has been confused by this? The vastly different physics of our planet in the not so distant past may explain this confusion, which is not to say the "mainstream" version of history is correct; on the contrary. I am not an expert in these fields, but wanted to see if this idea could spark discussion.
Pants on fire?.......2007-07-19
Will people ever read before spamming? Yes, Jesuits could not rewrite world history alone, they had help. Anyway, Dr Prof Acad A.Fomenko does not point to jesuits as the driving force of world wide history manipulation in published volumes 1,2,3;, actually he barely mentions the poor devils. Check it with 'Search inside' feature, please. China is rarely mentioned either, in fact, Dr Fomenko is completely eurocentric. Right, his theory contradicts all mainstream schools of history, because in their actual state they are all built on blatantly erroneus chronology. You don't need a mysterious cabal (conspiracy) to falsify history, the falsification is its modus operandi. It is inherent to history(ians) to falsify (distort) events, as it is inherent to humans to boast as it is inherent to power (authority) to legimize itself by referrring to glorious past made to its own order. Dr Prof Fomenko and team have identified scores of instances of such manipulation in Russian, European, etc.. history, and delivered valid statistical proof thereof. His own 'reconstruction' is completely another story. Forget c14 as a valid method of dating. W.Libby has initially discovered a brilliant method of INDEPENDENT dating. Too bad, c14 method has become a joke after a forced marrige with dendrochronology with consensual chronological scale inbuilt. Radiocarbon method can't stand blind tests, but is so very productive as a rubberstamp.
Accepted History & Chronology Must Be Changed. .......2007-04-09
There is no doubt that history as most know it is a sham, & institution's version of History both University & Church is fradulent & inaccurate. Everything was established with an agenda, The real "Dark Ages" are now when we have access to incredible amounts of information past authorities & more important 'common folk' didn't have but our institutions & educators are slow to evolve because of what has ignorantly & arrogantly been taught for too long. This is on many subjects not just Chronology.
For anyone to question "Why would a Mathematician have anything credible to say of History?" The answer is from Dr. Fomenko's preface in the book: "It would be worthwhile to remind the reader that in the XVI-XVII century Chronology was considered to be a subdivision of Mathematics." These volumes could possibly be some of the most important works to date & should be read by everyone with an interest in History, especially professors & educators who have a duty to the public. I have read both books & must say that 'Chronology 1' has some very eye opening & revolutionary information. Even if these volumes are part true the implications are profound & opens the doors to further investigations & questions which must be done. I speak several different lanquages & must say the logic Dr. Fomenko uses with "inflection" of words & words being read from left to right in one region & right to left in another then written backwards, the removal of vowels & get down to basics of words, or different cities & locations having the same name etc. is correct. Vowel usage has always been optional & varied, actually complicating linquistics & study. The first thing one has to understand is that words never had a fixed spelling in history like we do now, the spelling of words was mutable & regional, as well as names & titles of people were vast, varied & changed, NOTHING WAS FIXED or understood linear. Matters of Life & Death as well as financial profiteering yesterday & today were & are made with ignorant, illogical & conspiratorial views of history & reality, it's time people get closer to the Truth & society collectively grow up.
Very Interesting.......2007-03-07
It is a good proposal and I believe it will mature into something even better in the future. I think it deserves to be read.
History as Science Fiction.......2007-01-10
Anatoly Fomenko has written a very intriguing book, full of pictures, charts, and computer 'proof' of his thesis: backwards of AD900 we don't really know what happened or when. Between AD900 and AD1600 there is more certainty, but there is still a lot of fuzzy ground, and things don't get reliable until we get past the 1600's where the printing press made it very difficult for the perpetrators of this timeline manipulation to change anything that had been committed to print. The Dark Ages did not happen. Books were burned for a reason. One organization has doubled the actual length of its existence by expanding the real chronology. Read why.
I had always wondered why Christ died about AD33 and yet men waited until the 11th century to form the Knights Templar, the Cathars, etc and go after the Holy Land by force. Why the 1000 year gap? Turns out there wasn't more than a 10-12 year gap and he proves it using astronomy. This also implies that the planet is not as old as we have been told, and current Christian and other creationist scientists are already championing that idea without being aware of Fomenko's book. The two groups, creationist scientists and the Russian mathematical analysts corroborate each other. Fascinating.
Of course, all this flies in the face of what we have been told traditionally is the 'proper' chronology of western civilization, and most readers will experience 'cognitive dissonance' in reading this book. It means that our history going backwards from AD1600 becomes progressively more incorrect and unreliable until it cannot be trusted at all... in the space of 700-800 years.
Naturally, the curious, open-minded reader will want to know WHO did this, WHY, and did any of the events we think of as really ancient ever happen?
Dr. Fomenko is a respected scientist/mathematician at Moscow State University who has already answered these questions to the satisfaction of his initially skeptical colleagues. Most of them are now believers, a few still refuse to believe (the usual diehards), and of course the western press has ignored Fomenko's work -- for obvious reasons when you read the book. The ones who perpetrated this chronology ruse have a lot to answer for. They are still with us. That's why this book is a well-kept secret.
I gave the book a 4-star rating because I was unable to check out some of his claims; those I checked were as he said. But if even 1/3 of his claims are true, this punches a big hole in what we think is our history, the meaning of western civilization, our educational process (for repeating the ruse as gospel), and the trustworthiness of the organization that perpetrated this ruse, well-intentioned or not.
This book relates to current research into a Young Earth paradigm, to John Keel's discoveries about our planet, and Fr Malachi Martin's insights (in his now out-of-print books). We are indeed sheep who are manipulated and kept ignorant -- for a reason. While knowing what these men have to say may be the "booby prize" (as in: 'what can you do with this knowledge?'), it will provide interesting reading. Didn't someone say: "...and the Truth will set you free."?? For you to judge if this book contains the truth.

Book Description
The hand is second only to language in defining the human being, and its constant presence makes it a ready reminder of our humanity, with all its privileges and obligations. In this dazzling collection, Cole Swensen explores the hand from any angle approachable by language and art. Her hope: to exhaust the hand as subject matter; her joy: the fact that she couldn't. These short poems reveal the hand from a hundred different perspectives. Incorporating sign language, drawing manuals, paintings from the 14th to the 20th century, shadow puppets, imagined histories, positions (the “hand as a boatless sail”), and professions (“the hand as window in which the panes infinitesimal”), Cole Swensen's fine hand is “that which augments” our understanding and appreciation of “this freak wing,” this “wheel that comforts none” yet remains “a fruit the size and shape of the heart.”

Graphic SF Reader.......2007-09-03
Not bad, but the Punisher still works better on his own, or at least in an appropriate setting, not swinging around on webs with Spider-Man with mercy bullets. The Mini-Series etc. parts here are much better, where it is just Frank versus organised crime types that are his raison d'etre, not worrying about mutants, aliens, or scientific accidents. Just all around better writing and stories there.
The Punisher: The Early Years.......2007-04-07
I was kind of worried that I wouldn't enjoy reading these stories, because they date back to the 1970's, and the Punisher I am familiar with (Punisher MAX version) doesn't wear a one piece suit with a skull; he wears a skull T-shirt and a trenchcoat. However, I was pleasantly suprised. There were a few stinkers in this collection, but overall this compilation is superb, because I didn't expect the level of violence I encountered in these books. In today's market, the comics are much more lenient on violence and language so I didn't expect to see much of that here. I wonder, exactly how did they managed to get such graphic scenes of violence and language passed the censors under the old comics code? For instance, in the Marvel Preview Presents issue, a sniper has a wristwatch with a built in incindiary device, which he uses to commit suicide to prevent being forced to talk. It's pretty gruesome for a comic from 30 years ago. However, the guy tells Castle, before burning himself up, "I don't have to tell anybody anything. Got me a gadget that'll burn your--(badguy activates device) AAAASSSHHH!" I think it's obvious what AAAASSSHHH! means.
Some of the issues collected here are top notch and earn five stars in my opinion. These include the Marvel Preview Presents the Punisher #2 by Gerry Conway, because we see Franks motives for becoming the Punisher, Marvel Super Action Featuring the Punisher #1, because we see Frank get revenge on the people responsible for the death of his family, and Daredevil 182, 183 & 184, because Frank and Daredevil don't see eye to eye on how justice is dealt. The five part Punisher series that closes out the collection is also pretty good and I give it 4 1/2 stars. However, as I said, not all the stories in this 25 issue collection are great, but you are going to have a hard time finding copies of these gems anywhere. It's nice that Marvel started the Essential Collection so the fans can get these older issues, and while some fans may complain that these issues all appear in black & white, I didn't feel these stories lost anything due to a lack of color. After all, black and white are the Punishers colors.
Great.......2006-12-10
The Punisher is probably my second favorite character,Ghost Rider being the first. However, that is on levels of coolness only, when it comes to actual comics Punisher wins. This Essential collection has 25 comics inside, including a storyline by Frank Miller and a 5-issue miniseries by who-cares-it's-pretty-good. The paper is similar to that of newspaper(or the Daily Bugle:)and is black-and-white. Every story is well-written, and this is a pretty thick volume. The only thing I could ask for is more issues collected or a volume two. I don't care about the color, simply because the Punisher's world is pretty dark and gritty itself. Final Word:Great
Enter the Punisher.......2006-04-17
In the late 1970, Marvel was revamping its line. They were offering readers new and seconary stars in their own books...like such marvel characters Power man (Luke Cage), Iron Fist (started in their Fist of the Dragon magazine), Werewolf by Night, Dracula (Tomb of Dracula), , ROM, Moon Knight and even Howard the Duck. These characters books ran aside books of Spiderman, Fantastic Four, Thor, The Avengers and the X-men.
Most of these books, if bought today in the collector's comic book shops, would cost thousands. Marvel in an intelligent business move created the Essental series. A wonderful way to buy classic comic books in a black and white format (most books over 500 pages) at a price you can afford. Some would rather have them in color, to those I suggest think of these as Black and White Classics uncolorized.
The Punisher was a villian character in Spiderman. However, his origins are too similar to Don Pendleton's the Executioner. It seem to work in a comic format.
His early guest appearance in Spiderman, Daredevil and Captain American lead into his so called limited series, which became an unlimited series.
I will say the Frank Miller Daredevil with the Punisher are worth its weight in gold.
Most may say this isn't worth the reprinting, i say it sure it

A nice collection for everyone's favorite comic book vigilante.......2005-10-06
The Essential Punisher, Vol. 1.
INTRODUCTION:
One of the most popular Marvel Comics characters of all would have to be the Punisher. Definitely a far cry from the legions of classic characters Marvel created in the sixties, the Punisher was more of a down-to-earth kind of character, driven by revenge. And fans of Marvel Comics loved this new approach. In recent years, Marvel has been releasing the Essentials collections - black and white collections of their comics for various characters/series that have been around for many years. The Punisher was one of the characters that got this treatment. Read on for my review of The Essential Punisher, Vol. 1.
OVERVIEW:
The storyline behind the Punisher is more straightforward and down-to-earth than that of most of the other classic Marvel characters, but this is, in many ways, what made people love the character. Frank Castle was in the Marines, fighting in an intense war. During his leave from his military service, he went home to visit his family, only to suffer the ultimate loss - his wife and children were killed in the midst of an ongoing gang war. With restoring justice as his ultimate goal, he began calling himself the Punisher and waging a one-man war on the scum plaguing his city. He didn't start out in his own magazine, but rather appeared in many other characters' stories. Here is a list of the 25 comics you get in this collection:
-The Amazing Spider-Man 129: World premier of the Punisher character. Here he is hired to kill Spider-Man, who everyone thinks has murdered Norman Osborn. Castle doesn't realize he is just being used.
-The Amazing Spider-Man 134 and 135: This two-part saga deal with Spider-Man fighting a villain called the Tarantula. And sure enough, everyone's favorite vigilante gets in on the action.
-Giant Sized Spider-Man 4: Moses Magnum, later a villain in the X-Men series, is Spider-Man's tormentor this time around. And since this is a Punisher anthology, I shouldn't have to tell you that he appears.
-Marvel Preview 2 and Marvel Super Action 1: Definitely the hardest material to come by in this anthology. These were magazine-sized comics, in which the Punisher received his first starring role, hunting down and eliminating the scum of his city.
-The Amazing Spider-Man 162 and 163: Another Spider-Man two-parter. This saga introduced the villain Jigsaw. Also appearing are the X-Men characters Nightcrawler and Wolverine.
-The Amazing Spider-Man 174 and 175: Spidey battles the Hitman, and he and the Punisher must rescue J. Jonah Jameson. Not exactly the most appealing mission for Spider-Man, assuming Jameson hates him with a passion.
-Captain America 241: Captain America meets the Punisher, and the two, though reluctant to work together, must do so against a deadly gang.
-The Amazing Spider-Man 201 and 202: Spidey and the Punisher meet again, and this time it's in a conflict against a gang terrorizing the city.
-The Amazing Spider-Man Annual 15: In the fifteenth Spider-Man annual, he battles one of his classic villains - Doc Ock. And the Punisher has his own score to settle with the mad scientist.
-Daredevil 182 (Edit), 183, and 184: Daredevil and Punisher are fighting the war on drugs in this three-part saga. Issue 182, however, has been edited, removing the non-Punisher portion of the story.
-Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-Man 81, 82, and 83: Spider-Man battles the Kingpin and Cloak And Dagger. And sure enough, Spidey meets the Punisher once again.
-The Punisher 1-5: The classic, five-part mini series in which Castle gets top billing. Although this series starts with Castle imprisoned at Ryker's Island , it's not long before he's back on the streets, doing what he does best.
REVIEW:
I've always been a fan of the Punisher character, and for the most part, this anthology does him justice. It's great to get his twenty-five earliest comic book appearances at one low price. The Essentials collections are printed in black and white, but this is a small price to pay to keep the price low. For instance, the Marvel Masterworks anthologies ARE in color, but they cost considerably more due to being colored and hardcover. This soft-cover, black and white anthology is cheap, making it ideal to fans of the character, or maybe those who just want to get a nice introduction to the character. I admit, though, this is more a collection of the Punisher's early appearances than it is a collection of his best stories, and the weaknesses of some of these stories really show. It's not until the Daredevil three-parter that the character really begins to come around full circle and start becoming the Punisher we know and love. Still, despite its flaws, this is a solid anthology. If you are interested in exploring the Punisher but you're not sure where to begin, this wouldn't be a bad place to start.
EDITION NOTES:
The Marvel Essentials collections are recent releases, and they remain in print, readily available, and inexpensive. Just about every major bookstore out there carries them, meaning they aren't hard to find at all. This makes them a good place to start if you're interested in exploring the characters/series chronicled in their pages.
OVERALL:
Overall, I won't deny that this collection could have been a better one, but the fact of the matter is that it's good as it is. Purists will argue that a true Essential Punisher collection would have consisted of more of his own stories and higher quality ones, but this is still a solid anthology. It's interesting to explore the origins of the character, and in this collection, you'll both see his origins and his evolution. I strongly recommend this collection if you're interested in the character.

Just Average..........2007-08-26
The Touch of Your Shadow, the Whisper of Your Name is the fifth of the original nine novels and most probably the least likely of the five to become B5 fans' favorite. The book is set during the early part of the third season prior to events in "A Day in the Strife."
Security Chief Michael Garibaldi returns to Babylon 5 after taking a vacation to find the station in a state of chaos and anarchy, as the inhabitants are all experiencing nightmares leading them to violent acts against one another.
Then, out of the blue, an enormous green ribbon makes its appearance and as it gets closer to B5, the populace's dreams worsen along with their behavior...
On the positive side: Neal Barrett Jr. provides for an accurate description of the Narn psyche when Ambassador G'Kar states: "I'm afraid that's impossible, Captain. Narn honor is at stake. The very presence of the Centauri in the universe is an abomination against G'Quan. They must be exterminated, now." (p.194)
On page 173, the author presents a graphic description of a fanatic's dream: "And [Reverend Bobby James Galaxy, the Leader of the Universal Church of Solar Illumination] dreamed, as the Lord had told him to dream, not of cons but of conviction, and of Minbari heads on poles, and Centauri entrails on the ground, and of Drazi dead scattered like grains of salt of the barren plain of Babylon 5, which burned from end to end with holy and righteous fire."
On the downside, the novel will fly by since it's so short, i.e. each chapter is approximately four pages long ending at the beginning or middle of the final page while the next chapter begins at the middle of the following page bringing to mind books for "young adults/readers."
Moreover, regarding the plot and the main characters' actions, Neal Barrett Jr. does not make enough, nor that good, use of existing B5 plots and subplots as much as he could have and thus the whole feeling one gets is that the story is "stale" lacking that "something" that will bring it to life and get the reader to not be able to put the novel down.
In-depth information about the main characters or the B5 universe is pretty much absent, and the characters are quite shallow, not to mention the ridiculous groups like the space bikers Fermi's Angels and the Life in Transition to name a few.
Most of these groups/factions were simply uninteresting and out-of place, while the novel's ending was rather lame. 3 Stars
In short, with the main series over, thank goodness for the novels.
More novels please...
Jhaeman's Review.......2007-08-22
Although I enjoyed the first four Babylon 5 novels, I found this one rather disappointing. The plot is hackneyed and the sort of thing that has happened to the U.S.S. Enterprise about a dozen times. The conclusion is of the "ambiguous" type that doesn't indicate complexity so much as a writer apparently too lazy to give answers. Unless you're a B5 completist, avoid this one.
a weird babylon 5 story.......2002-07-29
now what happens when a station full of people start having
nightmares and start acting them out? total chaos. this was
a pretty decent book that shows you a lot about your favorite
characters from the tv show with some humor thrown in.
Nothing really.......2001-06-08
This book adds nothing to neither the storyline, the characters nor backround.
This book has "StarTrek the Next generation"-style strange force that causes people to get violent. It is handled even worse than in Thirdspace (movie).
There were 2 great thing in this book:
1. Kosh gave straight answer(!) "Yes." 2. Fermis angels, A religios motocycle gang, that wanted to blow up B5.
One a star for both.
A possibly promising beginning but then..........2001-03-08
This book was a bit of a dissapointment for me.
The beginning offers the book to be full of either interesting opportunities or huge dissapointments. It was neither.
The plot was intriquing and the book kept you with it, but there was not enough pay off at the end, as the author fell back on old, predictable solutions and colorless writing.
A nice read but nothing is missed by not reading it either.
Book Description
Ah, the wonders of a slow cooker. After a long, hard day you can walk in the door and the aroma of a hot, home-cooked meal fills the air. You don't have to do that fast tango from fridge to pantry to stove and back again. It's nearly as good as having a personal chef!
But for the low-carb dieter, traditional slow cooker recipes can be a problem. Many of them depend on potatoes, noodles, rice, and starchy canned soups. And if you've tried to make up your own slow cooker recipes, you may have found the results less than compelling -- too often the food can be mushy, water-logged, and bland.
Fortunately, with 200 Low-Carb Slow Cooker Recipes, you can use your slow cooker and follow your low-carb diet, too!
Come home to:
Tuscan Chicken * Kashmiri Lamb Shanks * Teriyaki-Tangerine Ribs * Chicken Minestrone * Orange Rosemary Pork * Chipotle Brisket * Firehouse Chili * Thai Chicken Bowls * Braised Pork with Fennel * Pizza Stew * Morty's Mixed Meat Loaf * Low-Carb Slow Cooker Paella

You'll make low-carb party treats like Hot Crab Dip and Glazed Chicken Wings, and snacks like Smokin' Chili Peanuts and Curried Pecans. It's the superior way to cook incredible sugar-free desserts like Mochaccino Cheesecake and Maple-Pumpkin Custard. Not good for South Beach Dieters.......2007-09-28
I gave this one star without even trying a recipe. While this book has a good variety of recipes which are "low carb", if you are following South Beach, don't buy it! It uses lots of butter, cream and fatty meats! I will be returning my copy.
Good, not great.......2007-06-12
I found about 10 or 15 recipes that I would actually use, and have tried a few and they were very good. Maybe that is par for the course with cookbooks , and considering the reasonable cost I'm not complaining. I'm happy to find some interesting, low carb recipes, for a slow cooker.
Lots of Great Recipes!!.......2007-06-08
I really enjoyed this book. Lots of ideas and nothing too complicated. Great for busy households who are also worried about weight. The whole family likes the recipes.
They don't all taste the same........2007-03-31
Sick of crockpot recipes all tasting the same? This recipe book for slow cookers avoids this with plenty of low carb recipes perfect for anyone on a low-carb eating plan.
3 Strikes your Out.......2007-03-16
I don't usually write reviews, but had to speak out about this book. I I really enjoy using my slow cooker (and use it a lot) and was very excited to try the recipes in this book. I made 3 recipes from this book, the kashmir lamb, the chicken in coconut milk and Hot Asian Pork Ribs. Not one of the recipes turned out well enough to say I would make them again. The taste just wasn't there in these recipes. The descriptions on how good they were was way off in my opinion. Word of warning on the lamp shanks, they smell awful when cooking on low which I was not aware of. We ended up throwing the whole dinner out because of the smell alone.
