Perhaps jumping the gun..........2000-02-25
I've only read 100 pages of the novel but my impression so far is one of amazement. The suggested "creating" of Perón by the media, and himself as he pours over his memoirs, deleting truth and overemphasizing details, is extremely interesting. I'm looking forward to finishing the novel!

Worst Of the 3.......2007-06-10
Of the 3 books in this cycle i thought this was the weakest. But, It is still a enjoyable read and you need it to tie the first and last books togther which i recomend fairly highly.
amazing,astonishing!!!!!.......2006-11-25
Yes, as the title segests the book is amazing and astonishing. But none in a good way. It's amazing how the book's not conected to the cycle. I mean, it is usefull to read it to understand the next book but it has allmost nothing to do with the third one-the Guildpackt. and its astonishing how this book doesn't have any slightest conection with the card excpention. It still is a good story so I give it two stars. But even the story is not that interesting. If you're searching for a good book, give a to try Time Spiral.
The book was good, this review is not........2006-04-06
Imagine a brand new world, somewhere in the universe. Can you see it? Ok, now imagine that this world is completely covered in cities. No, one enormous city: Ravnica, the City of Guilds. In Ravnica, there are ten ancient guilds who govern their people and their activities in a manner defined by a document over ten thousand years old, called the Guildpact, which binds each guild to a specific duty in the world for the benefit of those who live there. It empowers the lowest Wojek lawman to arrest even a mighty guildmaster and holds all ten guilds to their vows. The three guilds focused on in this book are the Izzet League, the Orzhov Syndicate, and the Gruul.
Guildpact, the second book of the Ravnica series, gives the reader three perspectives on a major event within the city, one from Agrus Kos, a former Wojek lieutenant and hero to the people, another from Teysa Karlov, the new Scion of the legally-minded Orzhov Syndicate, and the last from the point of view of Crix, a messenger goblin and favored experiment of the high-ranking Izzet magelord Zomaj Hauc. The events they witness are monumental, focused on the aftermath of a mana-compression singularity bomb test in a section of Ravnica occupied by savage Gruul undesirables. Though seen at first as an attempt to clear a new path for development, something greater and more sinister is at hand, as the three find out in this exciting new expansion in the Ravnica storyline from Corey Herndon.
Guildpact (Ravnica Cycle Book 2).......2006-03-19
I purchased this for my 14 year old son, and he loved it.
Kos you want to know what happens next!.......2006-03-06
Centuries ago, the entire Utvara region of Ravnica was devasted by a mysterious explosion. Every living body vanished in its wake and the only visible remnant of the event was the Schism that appeared in the sky that fateful day. The inorganic wasteland was declared a reclamation zone and a fallow period barring Utvara's repopulation ensued.
Time's almost up.
Guildpact follows Kos, now a retired Wojek, twelve years after the decamillennial into Utvara - a treasure trove waiting to be exploited. The Gruul, Izzet, and Orzhov have vying interests for control of the region, but there's something lingering in the air besides the kuga mot to which all are none-the-wiser. The Schism is growing.
There's a whole new cast of characters than in Book I, and you'll be longing for Feather, Fonn, and the familiar back in Ravnica proper. Yeah, it's painful. Among the notable in Book II are Teysa and Crix. You'll love them, you'll despise them, and then you'll love them some more. Thrulls, ogres, the nephilim, hyrdopyro- and pyrohydromancers, imps, half-demons, drakes, Niv-Mizzet the Dragon, and the lot are all waiting to meet you in Guildpact.
The ending couldn't be more suspenseful.
Dissension, hurry up!

Quest for the well of souls.......2005-08-29
This author has done it again, once you start reading you can not put it down. this is the 3rd. book in a series and if you have not read the others, I would recomend them, starting with midnight at the well of souls and then ghost of the well of souls.
The third book in the Saga of the Well World.......1998-06-04
This is a direct continuation of events begun in the second book of this series, Exiles at the Well of Souls. These two books, together, are called the War of the Well World.
It is difficult to describe the events of this book without substantially spoiling much of Exiles.
Essentially, the second phase of the war gets under way, and I can't say any more than that.
As the author puts it in his note in both books, "In an ideal world, Exiles should be read first."
If you have read Exiles, and found it a good book, this one is a must (it's really the second half).
Vol. 1: Midnight at the Well of Souls
Vol. 2: Exiles at the Well of Souls (Part 1: War of the Well World)
Vol. 3: Quest for the Well of Souls (Part 2: War of the Well World)
Vol. 4: The Return of Nathan Brazil
Vol. 5: Twilight at the Well of Souls

Book Description
In Miracles and Pilgrims, Ronald C. Finucane analyzes more than 3,000 posthumous accounts of miracles. He pieces together the world of pilgrims, miracles and faith-healing, and demonstrates its hold over the medieval imagination.
Customer Reviews:
It's a miracle!.......2006-01-04
In this erudite study of the pilgrims who visited a select group of saintly shrines in England and France, R. Finucane has put numbers and statistics to the phenomenon of miracles and wonders in the central middle ages. Ranging from such canonized luminaries as Thomas Becket to obscure unknowns such as a boy named William who was killed in the woods, Finucane painstakingly reviewed the documents and quantifies them in terms of social class, gender, and type of miracle. What results is a picture of the people, more than half of whom were lower class, who resorted to seeking the aide of a revered saint when finding themselves in trouble. Not just illness, but shipwrecks, jousting wounds, blindness - a whole panoply of medieval evils is reported. The phenomenon of the spread of a saint's cult is also nicely interpreted. While it doen not read like a novel, the narrative is interesting in spite of its factual emphasis on research and stats. A welcome addition to the literature on religious pilgrimage in England.

Liberal Modernist Agenda!.......2005-03-23
This review is for William Bausch's Pilgrim Church. If you are looking for an accurate and fair representation of Catholic Church History in accordance with Church Teaching and Tradition, keep looking. This book is an extremely biased propaganda piece that Bausch uses to push his modernist agenda on every page. From his bizarro take on Apostolic Succession to his misinterpretation of Scripture and his two-fisted railing against the papacy of JP II, it is impossible to separate the facts from Bausch's slanted view of the Roman Catholic Church. He offers very little evidence to support his claims with the exception of citing several Protestant Theologions and Historians (that is, when he's not too busy bashing the church for it's teachings on women ordination and priestly celibacy). If not Heresy it's at least Heterodoxy. No good Catholic need confuse themselves with this book. I intend to use it as kindling next winter. While I have not read them, I have been told that Warren Carroll's History of Christendom set is excellent. Save your money and avoid this book. Even if you fancy yourself a Modernist Catholic (and please honestly reconsider that position), seek out a fair book that gives you facts to challenge or deepen your faith and understanding of history. When you twist so many facts to fit an agenda, as Bausch has, no one will ever profit.
BE AWARE that this is not "The Pilgrim Church".......2004-03-11
The author "WJ Bausch" attempts to exemplify the catholic church as the cornerstone of christianity and how it has adjusted over time to become better in his revised book "Pilgram Church". In contrast to "The Pilgram Church" written by EH Broadbent who researches the so called heretics of the church as defined by the Catholic documents. He explains that some of those so called heretics were followers of Christ who opposed the Catholic regulations put upon them and desired to follow the scriptures instead. EH Broadbent convincently documents the reminent of true followers of biblical scriptures behind the Catholic dictatorship and describes how God has maintained His church. Please be aware of the title of the books because you can be misinformed. As the review of "Paris Templin" shows (Its a review of "The Pilgrim Church" not "Pilgrim Church". In short "Pilgrim Church" does not even come close to depth of "The Pilgrim Church"
A misplaced review.......2002-06-27
A note to review readers -- the last of the reviews given below, written by Paris Templin, is NOT a review of William Bausch's "Pilgrim Church." Mr. Templin's review is of a different book by E. H. Broadbent which shares the same title.
A blend of truth and error........2001-11-24
William Bausch colors his protrayal of church history with truth and error. One example of error is that he contends that there is "absolutely no proof" that the apostles appointed individual men to succeed them. The problem is the New Testament and many early church documents say otherwise. Apostolic Succession is considered to be one of the four pillars of the church. It has sound undisputable evidence in reality. For Bausch however, it is an abstract idea instead of an absolute truth in the Catholic Church. His bibleography is overwhelmingly limited to post-vatican II contemporary authors, rather than relying more heavily on historical documents to write his history. He ignores basic logical formulation to advance arguments for or against many conclusions he makes. He seems to be more interested in diluting or dumbing down the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church than advancing sound re-telling of the real Catholic Chrisitan history. It is a difficult read to sort out for anyone that already has a working knowledge of the subject. It is just dangerous to those who don't.
Thorough, yes - I agree about the dryness........2001-05-07
Like the above reviewer, I found the content good but the writing a little tough at times. The edition I read could've benefitted from different typesetting and layout as well. My interest began to flag a little as we moved towards the modern period and Vatican II, but in fairness, it was early church history I was primarily interested in.
