Book Description
Recorded history is a finely-woven magic fabric of intricate lies about events predating the sixteenth century. There is not a single piece of evidence that can be reliably and independently traced back earlier than the eleventh century. This book details events that are substantiated by hard facts and logic, and validated by new astronomical research and statistical analysis of ancient sources.

Calculations are only as good as your numbers.......2007-08-03
Yes, we can all agree that mainstream history is nearly 100% BS due to politics, economics, ego, problems with dating techniques, and various conspiracies. Agreed. But, I've been researching the distinct possibility that human history (in terms of civilizations) are much more ancient than we've been told, so coming across this book was very interesting to me. I wondered how Fomenko could be wrong (if at all) because he is very persuasive in his presentations. Then it dawned on me. If at previous times in prehistory, due to the various catastrophies that are well documented (comets, asteroids, planetary disruptions, plasma discharge, pole reversals, etc) the Earth was in a different position in relation to the sun, different tilt on its axis, different orbit, different rotation (in terms of velocity and DIRECTION), and the continents were in different positions, then would this not cause the ancients to see the sky (constellations) differently? In other words, is Fomenko making erronious assumptions about the physics of the Earth in pre-history, which then corrupt his data with regards to dating the relevant astrology? The last event to seriously disrupt our planet occured roughly 3500 years ago, according to other good researchers, so is it possible Fomenko has been confused by this? The vastly different physics of our planet in the not so distant past may explain this confusion, which is not to say the "mainstream" version of history is correct; on the contrary. I am not an expert in these fields, but wanted to see if this idea could spark discussion.
Pants on fire?.......2007-07-19
Will people ever read before spamming? Yes, Jesuits could not rewrite world history alone, they had help. Anyway, Dr Prof Acad A.Fomenko does not point to jesuits as the driving force of world wide history manipulation in published volumes 1,2,3;, actually he barely mentions the poor devils. Check it with 'Search inside' feature, please. China is rarely mentioned either, in fact, Dr Fomenko is completely eurocentric. Right, his theory contradicts all mainstream schools of history, because in their actual state they are all built on blatantly erroneus chronology. You don't need a mysterious cabal (conspiracy) to falsify history, the falsification is its modus operandi. It is inherent to history(ians) to falsify (distort) events, as it is inherent to humans to boast as it is inherent to power (authority) to legimize itself by referrring to glorious past made to its own order. Dr Prof Fomenko and team have identified scores of instances of such manipulation in Russian, European, etc.. history, and delivered valid statistical proof thereof. His own 'reconstruction' is completely another story. Forget c14 as a valid method of dating. W.Libby has initially discovered a brilliant method of INDEPENDENT dating. Too bad, c14 method has become a joke after a forced marrige with dendrochronology with consensual chronological scale inbuilt. Radiocarbon method can't stand blind tests, but is so very productive as a rubberstamp.
Accepted History & Chronology Must Be Changed. .......2007-04-09
There is no doubt that history as most know it is a sham, & institution's version of History both University & Church is fradulent & inaccurate. Everything was established with an agenda, The real "Dark Ages" are now when we have access to incredible amounts of information past authorities & more important 'common folk' didn't have but our institutions & educators are slow to evolve because of what has ignorantly & arrogantly been taught for too long. This is on many subjects not just Chronology.
For anyone to question "Why would a Mathematician have anything credible to say of History?" The answer is from Dr. Fomenko's preface in the book: "It would be worthwhile to remind the reader that in the XVI-XVII century Chronology was considered to be a subdivision of Mathematics." These volumes could possibly be some of the most important works to date & should be read by everyone with an interest in History, especially professors & educators who have a duty to the public. I have read both books & must say that 'Chronology 1' has some very eye opening & revolutionary information. Even if these volumes are part true the implications are profound & opens the doors to further investigations & questions which must be done. I speak several different lanquages & must say the logic Dr. Fomenko uses with "inflection" of words & words being read from left to right in one region & right to left in another then written backwards, the removal of vowels & get down to basics of words, or different cities & locations having the same name etc. is correct. Vowel usage has always been optional & varied, actually complicating linquistics & study. The first thing one has to understand is that words never had a fixed spelling in history like we do now, the spelling of words was mutable & regional, as well as names & titles of people were vast, varied & changed, NOTHING WAS FIXED or understood linear. Matters of Life & Death as well as financial profiteering yesterday & today were & are made with ignorant, illogical & conspiratorial views of history & reality, it's time people get closer to the Truth & society collectively grow up.
Very Interesting.......2007-03-07
It is a good proposal and I believe it will mature into something even better in the future. I think it deserves to be read.
History as Science Fiction.......2007-01-10
Anatoly Fomenko has written a very intriguing book, full of pictures, charts, and computer 'proof' of his thesis: backwards of AD900 we don't really know what happened or when. Between AD900 and AD1600 there is more certainty, but there is still a lot of fuzzy ground, and things don't get reliable until we get past the 1600's where the printing press made it very difficult for the perpetrators of this timeline manipulation to change anything that had been committed to print. The Dark Ages did not happen. Books were burned for a reason. One organization has doubled the actual length of its existence by expanding the real chronology. Read why.
I had always wondered why Christ died about AD33 and yet men waited until the 11th century to form the Knights Templar, the Cathars, etc and go after the Holy Land by force. Why the 1000 year gap? Turns out there wasn't more than a 10-12 year gap and he proves it using astronomy. This also implies that the planet is not as old as we have been told, and current Christian and other creationist scientists are already championing that idea without being aware of Fomenko's book. The two groups, creationist scientists and the Russian mathematical analysts corroborate each other. Fascinating.
Of course, all this flies in the face of what we have been told traditionally is the 'proper' chronology of western civilization, and most readers will experience 'cognitive dissonance' in reading this book. It means that our history going backwards from AD1600 becomes progressively more incorrect and unreliable until it cannot be trusted at all... in the space of 700-800 years.
Naturally, the curious, open-minded reader will want to know WHO did this, WHY, and did any of the events we think of as really ancient ever happen?
Dr. Fomenko is a respected scientist/mathematician at Moscow State University who has already answered these questions to the satisfaction of his initially skeptical colleagues. Most of them are now believers, a few still refuse to believe (the usual diehards), and of course the western press has ignored Fomenko's work -- for obvious reasons when you read the book. The ones who perpetrated this chronology ruse have a lot to answer for. They are still with us. That's why this book is a well-kept secret.
I gave the book a 4-star rating because I was unable to check out some of his claims; those I checked were as he said. But if even 1/3 of his claims are true, this punches a big hole in what we think is our history, the meaning of western civilization, our educational process (for repeating the ruse as gospel), and the trustworthiness of the organization that perpetrated this ruse, well-intentioned or not.
This book relates to current research into a Young Earth paradigm, to John Keel's discoveries about our planet, and Fr Malachi Martin's insights (in his now out-of-print books). We are indeed sheep who are manipulated and kept ignorant -- for a reason. While knowing what these men have to say may be the "booby prize" (as in: 'what can you do with this knowledge?'), it will provide interesting reading. Didn't someone say: "...and the Truth will set you free."?? For you to judge if this book contains the truth.

Book Description
This is a collection of perfect yet imaginary reviews of nonexistent books. With insidious wit, the author beguiles us with a parade of delightful, disarmingly familiar inventions. "Lem is Harpo Marx and Franz Kafka and Isaac Asimov rolled up into one and down the white rabbit's hole" (Detroit News). A Helen and Kurt Wolff Book
Customer Reviews:
So many ideas, so little time..........2004-08-28
...must have been Stanislaw Lem's predicament. He had the ideas for a good dozen novels, but didnt' actually feel like writing them, so he wrote reviews of them. The kind of reviews that thoroughly give away the plot.
Well no, that's probably not what happened, but it amuses me to pretend it did.
A Perfect Vacuum is a collection of reviews of non-existing books. In fact, some of them (Gigamesh, written using a battery of computers supplied by IBM, foremost) couldn't even exist. Other books ("Rien du tout") would probably be excrutiatingly boring. Others ("Gruppenfuehrer Louis XVI") sound so good I wish someone would actually write them.
Some of the reviews are lighthearted, commenting mostly on the story. Others, however, wax philosophical about the author's ideas,
and there is my problem with this book. Some of the reviews seem to me polemics against certain literary schools. But if Lem first needs to set up a caricature of something in order to shoot it down, isn't that just a strawman argument? Also, if Lem writes a brilliant review of a very bad book, can I be forgiven for asking `what's the point'? If he writes (review of "Les Robinsonades") about `the full boorishness of the blunder' of the author, am I to find him clever for pointing out an error that he first himself introduced?
However, despite these objections this is a wonderfully inventive book, and many of its chapters have a timeless quality that makes me reread them time and time again.
Ideal for?.......2001-12-24
The collection of essais (forewords or afterwords) on non-existent major books of our future. Perfect food for thought, but rather bleak in reading comfort - a little bit too dry and condensed. It's not a blood thriller(s), even if dissecting thrilling matters.
Anyway, it is a must for any real SF fan. Especially after Star diaries, Futurologic congress and things like Peace on Earth and Fiasco.
one of my favorite satirical works ever.......2001-03-14
I forget when I discovered Lem - in college? -- but A PERFECT VACUUM remains one of my favorite works and I'm delighted it's still in print (it may have been out of print once). Lem packages a collections of fake book reviews of nonexistent books, written in a delightful broad array of styles and voices. His wry humor lights every page. He includes a scathing review of his own book !! Highly recommended to anyone who enjoys satires and highbrow whimsy. (If you like this, try Julian barnes: Foucault's Parrot, or,History of the world in 10.5 chapters.
A Perfect Vacuum.......2000-06-22
Creative and thought-provoking, Lem delves into the realm of the "unwritten." Being both playful and serious at the same time, this book is very smart.

Well, for those who are lucky enough to realize it, anything that is "antireltativistic" MUST be good.
Notice how that reviewer did not refute any IDEAS. Just slandered someone who does not agree with him or her.
Typical "relativist."

From Back Cover.......2005-12-20
Sienna Parker's one tough but gorgeous cop who always gets her man. And now there's a bet at stake! The Women Who Dare have challenged her to seduce the guy who just saluted her, and get a souveneir off of him. But this man may be a challenge: he's sexy, straight-as-an-arrow A.J. Camacho, a hotshot U.S. Nave SEAL, who's dogging Sienna's every step on an important case. Meanwhile, she's thinking their first step should be toward the bedroom!
A.J. is on the lookout to find his brother and clear his name. The only lead A.J.'s got is a confusing connection between his brother and the sexy cop, who only wants to arrest him ASAP and ask questions later. A.J. knows he has to stick close to this headstrong, butt-kicking woman, but he doesn't mind one bit. In fact, he's determined to put things right, and if he has to sacrifice his body to sexy-as-all-get-out Sienne to do it... he will.
[1st in the Women Who Dare series]
The Women Who Dare Rock!.......2005-11-11
The Women Who Dare miniseries put out by blaze is blazing hot with attitude!
This is book 1 in the series, and I recommend reading them all and in order. I loved how the Women Who Dared had a career and a life, and went after what they wanted!
Witty dialogue and a suspenseful plot.......2003-10-01
A.J. Camacho does not like people sneaking up on him with guns. It makes him testy. So when San Diego Detective Sienna Parker arrives to investigate his brother's apartment, he disarms her with the lightening speed of his profession as a Navy SEAL. While he might not play by the rules Sienna holds so dear, with his stepbrother suspected of selling arms, A.J. and Sienna must join forces to discover the truth.
Meanwhile, Sienna's closest friends challenge her with a bet. They all agree to sleep with the sexy men in their lives, bring back a souvenir to prove their success. But Sienna's approach to her life leaves little room for more than a brief fling with her sexy maverick. With a truckload of guns on the street, her first priority must be to see that justice is served, regardless of the toll it might take on her and A.J.
Three women accept a dare to seduce the sexy men in their lives in the new miniseries Women who Dare. Author Karen Anders kicks off the sensual feast with HERS TO TAKE, once again demonstrating her skill in creating breathtaking intensity, resulting in a fast paced, sexy read fans will adore. Both A.J. and Sienna are strong, resourceful characters determined to follow their individual code of ethics. A.J. does provides a decided counterpoint to Sienna's by the book ways, not hesitating to play the maverick in order to get the job done. Witty dialogue and a suspenseful plot keep the novel moving at a fast pace, with sensual interludes that will make the reader's toes curl. Be sure to watch for Lana's story in November and Kate's romance in January. HERS TO TAKE comes very highly recommended.

Customer Reviews:
Would have been a great episode.......2007-10-07
This was a very believable instalment in the small universe of Alien Nation. The characters were spot on, pun intended. Once again, Matt and George are up against the strange and pull through to the end. Fun Newcomer names pop up too, my favorite being Ross Vegas. Ulitmately, this was an interesting look into a business trip from hell, complete with what Angelinos are like in cold climates.
The only thing that got me was the authors' self-insertion, which I felt was in poor taste.
Too bad there weren't more novels in this series besides the scant eight that came out.
It's my favorite of all the Alien Nation's Books.......1998-10-07
What I liked best is that there was never any time when reading this book that I was board. It kept me reading until I finished it. ( 3 AM THAT IS!!! )
What is really fun about reading the Alien Nations books is that you can actually picture George and Matt doing these things. The authors have a good grasp on the characters throughout the entire series.
Very well done novel........1998-08-27
This book is spot on with the characters. I loved the names that the authors used for the Newcomer characters.
The book keeps you moving and wanting to read _just_ one more chapter.
If you liked this one, go for the L.A. Graf Trek novels.

My Ex Is From N'Orleans.......2004-07-15
My girlfriend left a copy of Barton's The El Cholo Feeling behind with a bunch of other clutter, and it wasn't until a hard rainy day last month that I sampled it. Happily,I couldn't put El Cholo down; now, subsequently, I've finished Barton's exciting quartet of novels back-to-back, and they each get better. Extreme Prejudice(now aka, Black and White On The Rocks), his third, is my favorite. (He just won the Faulkner Award for House Divided, his fourth.) I find myself returning to E.P. - not only for a daily dose of Barton's succintly efficient prose, but also for his progressive southern maleness, including his outstanding movie reviews, each critical to the paradox capturing his protagonist. Reviews included critque Mississippi Burning and Do The Right Thing, both superior to what you might have gotten from Denby,The NYT, or others. Thus, you may accept this review as my five-star rebuttal of the previous reviewer, who missed the point of this southerner's agony with current southern events, as his personal and social life crash dramatically. Once I, too, married and lost a fine New Orleans woman, and my experience tells me that the professor knows something about southern sex, as well. I say, buy Barton's books and buy them new at full price, as we need to keep him writing. Read Frederick Barton and you will be hooked; you'll get your money's worth, and, even better, you'll never return to Grisham.
An easy summer read.......2001-08-13
[....] it's worth a few $ to own a little piece of this action. A year after his lawyer wife was killed in a car accident, a burglary in his house makes New Orleans film reviewer Mike Barnett wonder whether her death was really accidental. Eventually, (all too slowly - hence the deduction of one star) he gets to understand that her death was no accident and that it was all linked to a real estate deal which his wife fought against. Much of the 'action' takes place in extended flashback, and too much time is lost reading about Mike Barnett's endless (liberal) film reviews (hence the deuction of a second star). However, the eventual answers reveal much about racial politics and Big Easy corruption, and the book is a compelling read nonetheless.

Book Description
Science, technology and economic growth motivate our society. Each is carried on with little regard for Christian concerns.Brian Walsh and Richard Middleton yearn for change. They long to see Christianity penetrate the structures of society, reforming and remolding our culture. From scholarship in the universities to politics, business and family life, the Christian vision can transform our world. To stimulate such change the authors analyze our troubled age, show us how it got that way and suggest a solution. Their clear presentation of a Christian world view forms the basis of their hope.
Customer Reviews:
Wow!.......2007-04-24
I am reading this book with one more chapter to go and have to say that it has been an "eye-opening" and insightful read as to what a REAL Christian/Biblical world view is...and what it isn't. I would HIGHLY recommend this book to others.
Excellent book.......2006-11-04
This book was used as a textbook in one of my college classes through Regent University. The class, "Contemporary Problems for Christian Leaders," was very enlightening. The book covers world views in general and Christian world views specifically. As a Christian, my world view was transformed by this book, not in an earth-shaking way, but in a subtle way. Instead of Christianity being separate from "the world," I now see Christianity as redeeming the world. I would highly recommend this book.
Renewing your mind!.......1998-12-08
This book shaped my young mind as college student some years ago. I am purchasing another copy to read it again. This book gives a clear explanation of what it means to live out a christian life in a culture that is counter to christ's ideals. The book certainly doesn't advocate isolationism but rather active involvment in transforming the world around us. It is an eye opening and well thought out book for christians in the 20th century and beyond.
An excellent book on developing a Christian worldview.......1998-06-26
This book is a penetrating critique of modernism, the prevailing ethos in which we live. It calls Christians to be aware of the presuppositions of the world around us and to renew our minds by seeking after Christlikeness.
