Book Description
Recorded history is a finely-woven magic fabric of intricate lies about events predating the sixteenth century. There is not a single piece of evidence that can be reliably and independently traced back earlier than the eleventh century. This book details events that are substantiated by hard facts and logic, and validated by new astronomical research and statistical analysis of ancient sources.

Calculations are only as good as your numbers.......2007-08-03
Yes, we can all agree that mainstream history is nearly 100% BS due to politics, economics, ego, problems with dating techniques, and various conspiracies. Agreed. But, I've been researching the distinct possibility that human history (in terms of civilizations) are much more ancient than we've been told, so coming across this book was very interesting to me. I wondered how Fomenko could be wrong (if at all) because he is very persuasive in his presentations. Then it dawned on me. If at previous times in prehistory, due to the various catastrophies that are well documented (comets, asteroids, planetary disruptions, plasma discharge, pole reversals, etc) the Earth was in a different position in relation to the sun, different tilt on its axis, different orbit, different rotation (in terms of velocity and DIRECTION), and the continents were in different positions, then would this not cause the ancients to see the sky (constellations) differently? In other words, is Fomenko making erronious assumptions about the physics of the Earth in pre-history, which then corrupt his data with regards to dating the relevant astrology? The last event to seriously disrupt our planet occured roughly 3500 years ago, according to other good researchers, so is it possible Fomenko has been confused by this? The vastly different physics of our planet in the not so distant past may explain this confusion, which is not to say the "mainstream" version of history is correct; on the contrary. I am not an expert in these fields, but wanted to see if this idea could spark discussion.
Pants on fire?.......2007-07-19
Will people ever read before spamming? Yes, Jesuits could not rewrite world history alone, they had help. Anyway, Dr Prof Acad A.Fomenko does not point to jesuits as the driving force of world wide history manipulation in published volumes 1,2,3;, actually he barely mentions the poor devils. Check it with 'Search inside' feature, please. China is rarely mentioned either, in fact, Dr Fomenko is completely eurocentric. Right, his theory contradicts all mainstream schools of history, because in their actual state they are all built on blatantly erroneus chronology. You don't need a mysterious cabal (conspiracy) to falsify history, the falsification is its modus operandi. It is inherent to history(ians) to falsify (distort) events, as it is inherent to humans to boast as it is inherent to power (authority) to legimize itself by referrring to glorious past made to its own order. Dr Prof Fomenko and team have identified scores of instances of such manipulation in Russian, European, etc.. history, and delivered valid statistical proof thereof. His own 'reconstruction' is completely another story. Forget c14 as a valid method of dating. W.Libby has initially discovered a brilliant method of INDEPENDENT dating. Too bad, c14 method has become a joke after a forced marrige with dendrochronology with consensual chronological scale inbuilt. Radiocarbon method can't stand blind tests, but is so very productive as a rubberstamp.
Accepted History & Chronology Must Be Changed. .......2007-04-09
There is no doubt that history as most know it is a sham, & institution's version of History both University & Church is fradulent & inaccurate. Everything was established with an agenda, The real "Dark Ages" are now when we have access to incredible amounts of information past authorities & more important 'common folk' didn't have but our institutions & educators are slow to evolve because of what has ignorantly & arrogantly been taught for too long. This is on many subjects not just Chronology.
For anyone to question "Why would a Mathematician have anything credible to say of History?" The answer is from Dr. Fomenko's preface in the book: "It would be worthwhile to remind the reader that in the XVI-XVII century Chronology was considered to be a subdivision of Mathematics." These volumes could possibly be some of the most important works to date & should be read by everyone with an interest in History, especially professors & educators who have a duty to the public. I have read both books & must say that 'Chronology 1' has some very eye opening & revolutionary information. Even if these volumes are part true the implications are profound & opens the doors to further investigations & questions which must be done. I speak several different lanquages & must say the logic Dr. Fomenko uses with "inflection" of words & words being read from left to right in one region & right to left in another then written backwards, the removal of vowels & get down to basics of words, or different cities & locations having the same name etc. is correct. Vowel usage has always been optional & varied, actually complicating linquistics & study. The first thing one has to understand is that words never had a fixed spelling in history like we do now, the spelling of words was mutable & regional, as well as names & titles of people were vast, varied & changed, NOTHING WAS FIXED or understood linear. Matters of Life & Death as well as financial profiteering yesterday & today were & are made with ignorant, illogical & conspiratorial views of history & reality, it's time people get closer to the Truth & society collectively grow up.
Very Interesting.......2007-03-07
It is a good proposal and I believe it will mature into something even better in the future. I think it deserves to be read.
History as Science Fiction.......2007-01-10
Anatoly Fomenko has written a very intriguing book, full of pictures, charts, and computer 'proof' of his thesis: backwards of AD900 we don't really know what happened or when. Between AD900 and AD1600 there is more certainty, but there is still a lot of fuzzy ground, and things don't get reliable until we get past the 1600's where the printing press made it very difficult for the perpetrators of this timeline manipulation to change anything that had been committed to print. The Dark Ages did not happen. Books were burned for a reason. One organization has doubled the actual length of its existence by expanding the real chronology. Read why.
I had always wondered why Christ died about AD33 and yet men waited until the 11th century to form the Knights Templar, the Cathars, etc and go after the Holy Land by force. Why the 1000 year gap? Turns out there wasn't more than a 10-12 year gap and he proves it using astronomy. This also implies that the planet is not as old as we have been told, and current Christian and other creationist scientists are already championing that idea without being aware of Fomenko's book. The two groups, creationist scientists and the Russian mathematical analysts corroborate each other. Fascinating.
Of course, all this flies in the face of what we have been told traditionally is the 'proper' chronology of western civilization, and most readers will experience 'cognitive dissonance' in reading this book. It means that our history going backwards from AD1600 becomes progressively more incorrect and unreliable until it cannot be trusted at all... in the space of 700-800 years.
Naturally, the curious, open-minded reader will want to know WHO did this, WHY, and did any of the events we think of as really ancient ever happen?
Dr. Fomenko is a respected scientist/mathematician at Moscow State University who has already answered these questions to the satisfaction of his initially skeptical colleagues. Most of them are now believers, a few still refuse to believe (the usual diehards), and of course the western press has ignored Fomenko's work -- for obvious reasons when you read the book. The ones who perpetrated this chronology ruse have a lot to answer for. They are still with us. That's why this book is a well-kept secret.
I gave the book a 4-star rating because I was unable to check out some of his claims; those I checked were as he said. But if even 1/3 of his claims are true, this punches a big hole in what we think is our history, the meaning of western civilization, our educational process (for repeating the ruse as gospel), and the trustworthiness of the organization that perpetrated this ruse, well-intentioned or not.
This book relates to current research into a Young Earth paradigm, to John Keel's discoveries about our planet, and Fr Malachi Martin's insights (in his now out-of-print books). We are indeed sheep who are manipulated and kept ignorant -- for a reason. While knowing what these men have to say may be the "booby prize" (as in: 'what can you do with this knowledge?'), it will provide interesting reading. Didn't someone say: "...and the Truth will set you free."?? For you to judge if this book contains the truth.

In Nelly Rosario's beautifully written family saga Song of the Water Saints, Graciela, an unwilling mother and a halfhearted wife, spends her days imagining sea voyages and tracing shapes in the clouds. She is so restless, yet so trapped in Dominican village life, that she wakes at night to rub camphor oil into her itching feet. Finally, a fortuneteller advises her to "stop living between nostalgia and hope." It is up to Graciela's daughter and her children to make use of the freedoms that eluded Graciela, whose life was shaped not only by poverty but also by the brutal U.S. military occupation of the Dominican Republic, the brief flowering of a belle époque in the 1920s, and the 30-year military dictatorship of Trujillo. With an almost painterly attention to foreground and background, Rosario stresses the importance of these events without letting them overshadow her richly imagined world. Song of the Water Saints is an unusually assured debut from a promising writer. --Regina Marler
Book Description
“The circle of myth, history, longing, and grief in Song of the Water Saints will envelop the reader as it does the lives of Nelly Rosario’s beautifully realized characters.”
—Maureen Howard, author of A Lover’s Almanac
Poetic, transporting, and heartbreaking, this debut novel traces the lives of three generations of courageous Dominican women.
First there is Graciela: a young girl rebelling against the strictures of her poor, rural life in the Dominican Republic in the early 1900s, she searches for her true destiny even as it lures her away from her husband and baby daughter. . . . Then there is Mercedes, passionately devoted to the Church, who rears herself after the death of her beloved stepfather, eventually marrying and moving with her husband to New York City, where she will bring up her granddaughter. . . . Coming of age in the freewheeling 1990s—and bringing the story full circle—Leila has without a doubt inherited the restless genes of great-grandmother Graciela. . . .
The intimate details of life in New York and the Dominican Republic, the broad strokes of history, the subtleties of familial connection amid changing notions of home and obligation—all are rendered with grace and gritty realism in this remarkably accomplished novel.
Customer Reviews:
Beautifully written.......2005-09-19
I had a difficult time putting this book down, it's been a while since I've read a novel where I could actually empathize with the charachters. Nelly Rosario follows 3 generations of a Dominican family as they search for happiness and purpose in life.
Beautiful Story.......2005-08-18
Very poetic and beautifully written although a little bit hard to follow if you are not an avid reader.
Resonates With Elegance.......2003-09-14
SONG OF THE WATER SAINTS is yet another stellar contribution to the fast-growing field of works by young escritoras dominicanas [Dominican women writers] of superior caliber and grace. Nelly Rosario, obviously undaunted by the number of novels that readily plunge the reader into the immigrant experience, adds an exciting new dimension. She clevery and artfully interweaves the delicate threads of myth, history, longing, and pain into a passionate tale of three generations of bold, intrepid Dominican women in search of their respective destinies. The interconnected stories of Graciela, Mercedes, and Leila are unforgettable. Rosario's irresistible prose reads like epic poetry; her style evokes imagination and a deep resonance of remembrance. This is a well-written novel that undergirds our continuing faith in the future direction of Latina Literature. Very Highly Recommended.

Song of the Water Saints.......2002-09-27
I loved this book. Though written in prose, there was so much written UNDERNEATH all of the words it was like reading poetry. It was beautifully elequent and the way she tied all three generations together was excellent. The women in this story were so intense and full of spirit, and selfish too. Both sexually liberated and aware, and intent on getting what they want out of life. These were not women to give in to anyone. I was exposed to a whole new striking culture, and I can't wait to read what else Nelly has to say.
Not at all what I was expecting.......2002-07-29
I purchased this book because I am from the Dominican Republic and was hoping to read this novel for the familiarity of the country. Not only was this novel very hard to follow but the description of my homeland were not as detailed as I would have hoped. I still have the novel on my kitchen table waiting to finish reading it and it's been several months. This is very hard to consider because I am a very avid reader and have never left a book unread.
Book Description
When Verity Thornrose's latest charitable endeavor lands her in the clutches of the infamous Earl of Brathmere, he mistakes her for a lady of the night. Although Verity flees, the Earl is intrigued by this lovely highflier-and he's determined to track her down.
Customer Reviews:
Odd, but charming.......2004-12-24
Verity Thornrose, like her family before her, has dedicated her life to charity work. With a nickname like "Mistress Reform", how could she be anything but a spinster do-gooder? Currently, she invests her time in rescueing less-than-fortunate Irish girls from dire fates. Her current protege is a girl named Deirdre, who was a terrible habit of running away.
While searching for Deirdre, Verity has a chance encounter with the dastardly Earl of Brathmere, who is as much of a rake as Verity is a saint. When they part, she doesn't even give him her name. But the rakish earl is intrigued, and is determined to find her again.
This is a very intersting book, much different from the regular Regency fair. It has an altogether different style and flair that cannot be explained until you read it yourself. (I loved the chapter titles). This book seems to have everything. Adventure. Humor. Duels. Rescues. Damsels in Distress. Villains. However, the love story of Verity and Alaric (the earl) left something to be desired. Unlike most heroes, Alaric really IS a rake. This behavior is somewhat off-putting, but you can't help but admire a guy who is admittedly worst than most. However, the story of their romance didn't do much for me. And I didn't care for the ending.
In fact, I much preferred the secondary romance of the Rafe the footman and Deirdre the maid. Early on, however, it took an unfortunate backseat to Verity and Alaric's story.
This book is still highly recommended by me, especially for someone looking for a book that's charmingly fresh and different.
Unusual and entertaining but some problems.......2004-12-06
I've not encountered this author before and I see from inside the cover that the book was probably written a number of years before Signet brought it out.
Not too sure how to explain what we have here - in some ways the novel is almost a pastiche of an 18th century novel a la Fielding, etc. Each chapter has a clever title that describes the action to take place. The author is very clever in her descriptions of time and place and her command of regency "slang" seems good - at least it is believeable and not sanitised, Americanised or 21st century slang overlaid on the early 19th - an accomplishment in itself!
The story is, however, plot rather than character driven. The author has given us the story of a philanthropic young woman who comes from a long line of the sort of people who eventually got rid of slavery, chimney sweeps, child labour and other sorts of social ills. The hero is an outright rake and has killed three men in duels (although we are given no explanation as to why he had not fled abroad for these deeds), gambles, has mistresses and casual sex and really has no obvious redeeming qualities. However, they come together and face up to an obnoxious relative of our heroine and then the plot takes a really odd turn.
Verity Thornrose is imprisoned in a lunatic asylum and suffers great trials and tribulations until Lord Brathmere manages to free her. Here is where I have some problems with the plot. I thought it rattled along rather well until the last quarter of the book when suddenly this turn away from the semi-farcial to the semi-tragic seemed like two stories badly welded together.
Because this story is plot-driven, the author moves her characters rather like pieces on a chessboard and, sadly, we never get to understand what makes them tick for we never get inside their heads. Surely our hero was damaged goods but we never really know why - what happened to him to turn him into what superficially is a nasty sort of chap? Although there is a sexual attraction between him and Verity, we never really gain an understanding of what it is about her actions or character that make him want to have her. And, I'm not really sure we are certain he will reform completely!
Sorry, I think I am rambling. Although I did enjoy this book, I had trouble evaluating it because there are a lot of strands to it and they don't all knit well together. I think the author has promise. I see that she has used one of the minor characters here for another story. I'll have to check it out! I recommend this but not with a great deal of conviction. I'd really prefer to give it 3-1/2 stars ..............
WITTY, ENTERTAINING, JUST A GREAT STORY!.......2000-02-21
This is the first book by Geraldine Burrows that I've read -- it might be the first one she's published; I don't know. I do know I'll certainly be watching for her books in the future. Verity Thornrose is a perfect example of a Do-Gooding Female Determined To Rescue The Poor And Downtrodden and she does so through a variety of Good Works all of which are recorded in the family's history of good deeds. She is also pure, undefiled and definitely unawakened -- until she manages to get herself in A Difficult Situation and the only person around to rescue her is the rakehell Alaric Tierney. To say he wakes her up is an understatement. What's surprising -- especially to Alaric -- is the effect she has on him.
Alaric Tierney is about as far from a Good Samaritan as you're likely to find, even among the debauched gentlemen littering the pages of regency novels. He has a long way to go to become hero material. It is to Ms. Burrows credit that she accomplishes his transformation to hero credibly and with just enough backsliding as to make him a delight.
I loved this book and I look forward to others from Ms. Burrows.
Book Description
PFC Wayson Harris is just another clone born and bred to fight humanity's battles for them. But when he learns that his fellow Marines are being slaughtered to make room for the newer model of clone soldier, he goes AWOL--and plans revenge.
Customer Reviews:
Good concept - poor execution........2007-09-04
OK, so Steven Kent has an interesting concept. What if the government were farming clone-soldiers in mass quantities, and the soldiers themselves knew it, but each and every one of them thought *they* were an exception to the rule?
Now, *why* would this be? Well, maybe you could fine-tune your soldiers to be more capable, more obedient, and more reliable. OK, great... Now what? That's where Kent's story falls down. He has some interesting story concepts, and the bones of a pretty nifty plot, but he can't seem to connect the dots in any plausible manner. The character development proceeds, where it proceeds at all, in fits and starts. The math, cosmology, and ship designs are radically out of whack with practicality and plausibility. Half-mile to mile-wide ships only twelve or eighteen decks thick? Those aren't ships - they're cosmic razor blades. Only a couple hundred daughter craft on a carrier large enough cover lower Manhattan? What are they *doing* with all that extra volume?
For that matter, what's with the Magical Bounty Hunter that pops up all over the place as a sort of mercenary deus ex machina? He derails my suspension of disbelief every time he appears.
OK, so I read the book cover to cover in less than three hours. That's not really a recommendation. It frankly failed to deliver on the promise. On the other hand, the premise has sufficient potential that I kept reading to see if the premise, and promise, were ever delivered upon. They weren't.
It's an OK read, if you've time to kill, and nothing better on which to spend your time.
great read.......2007-08-13
PFC Wayson Harris was raised, the only human, in one of the governments orphanages full of clones. Like all the other orphanage residence, when he turned eighteen he was shipped off to boot camp and joined the military. He became a marine and found his first assignment to be a back water planet that's usually reserved for the soldiers that got on the bad side of one of the higher ups.
During an attack on his base, Wayson with the assistance of a merc, saves the base and gets a promotion to corporal after only six months. He is transferred to central fleet where he eventually learns that he's not a human after all but an outlawed model of clone called `liberator', a very violent version that is bred to be addicted to war.
After several minor skirmishes he is sent into his first real battle on a planet code named `little big man' where 2500 marines go up against several thousand separatists. Only six marines leave the planet alive. One of them is Wayson, who, above all, wasn't supposed to live.
His next assignment is on a cold, barren planet where marines keep disappearing without any sort of trace. Here, he discovers a plot where his superiors are having his marines killed off, a platoon at a time and in doing so they are killing two birds with one stone. They are making way for a new type of clones and offering up the marines as training dummies for the new model.
The lone survivor of this attack, Wayson goes AWOL.
This book is very hard to review because it really doesn't have a defined plot. It just follows Wayson to his first assignment as a marine until he goes AWOL two years later after surviving yet another plot to murder him. Regardless, I thoroughly enjoyed this book and ordered the second the very day I finished this one.
This is my kind of science fiction book........2007-04-30
Apart from the Star Wars novels, I'm not much of a science fiction reader. Over the years, I've waded through a few volumes by various authors but never found anything that truly captivated me. "The Clone Republic" however had me hooked from the first page. I finished it in three days--which is quite a feat for a slow reader like me.
This book avoids all of the things I have disliked in other sci-fi works. There are no invading bug-eyed aliens. There are no mutant/advanced humans with strange powers. There is no babbling on about theoretical science and advanced technology. And there is no plodding plot.
Instead, the author gives us likable characters and a storyline that starts strong and keeps building to a climax that is satisfying yet also leaves one wanting more.
I look forward to getting the next book in the series. In the meantime, I may just have to read this book again. It really is one of the best books I've read in a long time.
A novel worth taking a chance on ..........2007-04-17
I am not sure how I came to this book - probably through someone's Amazon List. I am fairly certain I am not in the book's target demographic though. If that describes you too, do not miss the chance to thumb your nose at "target demographics" and give a new genre a try. This book is worth the risk. It has a likeable and able hero who goes on a journey of discovery about the world and his place in it. There are several well-drawn secondary characters who assist him. There is plenty of action, but it's never mindless. The action definitely moves the plot along. There's even a little romance thrown in, which does the same. The story never grows tiresome. I never found myself impatient as I often do with less well written books. This story has depth - it gives you a reason to think, and it's very well constructed. The author deftly assembles all the elements needed for an enjoyable read, good plot, interesting characters, believable settings, etc., whilst also whetting your appetite for more to come. "The Clone Republic" looks like entertainment and reads like literature - what more could you want? One of the best things you can say after finishing a novel, so long as you say it thoughtfully, is "I can't wait to read the next one." Well ... I can't wait to read the next one.
Exceptional beginning to a series .......2007-03-14
"The Clone Republic" is a welcome addition into the Military Sci-Fi arena. Built on the premise of a distant future where human expansion has reached into the galaxy and the political government harnesses control through the cultivation of a military of clones. This hypothetical future is all too believable as Steven L. Kent masterfully composes a story that quickly captures your attention and engrosses you in the plight of a Private First-class Wayson Harris, a clone Marine. Harris is no ordinary clone, but rather the "ultimate soldiers", engineered to be the perfect killing machine, one among a duplicate of millions. Yet Harris has an intrinsic ability to think outside the restraints of clone mentality. At the core of "The Clone Republic", Harris is thrust into circumstances that question his existence as an expendable commodity and push him to decide what price he is willing to pay to be a clone dissenter. There is immediate action, suspense, intrigue, political maneuvering, military strategy, tangible battle scenes and survival. This is a book to be enjoyed as we wait patiently for the anticipated sequel.

It is not spiral-bound, but rather assembled with Velobinding in a soft, white linen cover. The Storming Media report number is A988924. The abstract provided by the Pentagon follows: The military changes that have transformed global politics in recent years - especially since the end of the Cold War - have brought about a new revolution in military affairs (RMA) by the United States. The PLA has begun to study the RMA by focusing on asymmetric warfare capabilities under high technological conditions. China believes that asymmetric operations have the advantages of enabling a swift and precise attack and avoiding mass destruction on Taiwan's infrastructure and hightech industry. They also have the benefits of low intensity, low collateral damage, high efficiency, fast attack, and fast victory. In summary, asymmetric operations are regarded by the PLA as a kind of warfare that conforms both with the dictum of China's ancient war theorist Sun Tzu to "defeat the enemy without bloodshed and fighting" and the demands of a modern economy. In the face of China's development of asymmetric capabilities, Taiwan should think about how best to confront and counter China's threats and to gain a military edge over China.

ABSTRACT (maximum 200 words) This thesis studies the Chinese economy, analyzing the economic growth China has experienced since Deng Xiaoping instituted reforms in 1978. An autoregressive- distributed lag method with an error correction model was used to forecast GNP growth. Three scenarios were constructed using high, medium, and low growth patterns. Sino-US relations are in the high end of a cyclical pattern. Economic policy is used as a tool for developing foreign policy in areas such as weapons proliferation and human rights. President Clinton's administration is using economic interaction to pursue a policy of engagement that is designed to work with PRC leaders, fostering a move away from Communism, toward a free market economy and democracy. PRC leaders demonstrated sound macroeconomic policies, despite the Asian economic crisis and the resulting decrease in market demand. PRC growth stems from increases in productivity and has taken advantage of underemployed workers as well as the opening of trade. The PRC faces substantial problems both from within and outside its borders. The country has a history of such problems and disruptions, yet it still realizes economic growth. The conclusion of this thesis is that the economic growth that the PRC has demonstrated is sustainable

The abstract provided by the Pentagon follows: This study examines the effect of a Point of Sales (POS) type of military supply system on the readiness of a typical Republic of China infantry battalion. The study compares the current system against the POS-like system. Chapter II is a background of the current supply system and the alternative system studied in the thesis. Chapter III develops a stochastic model to generate parts availability probability values for the support of three types of equipment assigned to a battalion. Chapter IV uses these probabilities to populate a decision tree for the determination of which system will increase the readiness of the battalion. A GAMS Program is used in Chapter III to generate the probabilities for support and a Decision Support Program (Data) is used to develop the decision tree and for the analysis of the results. The results were that without considerations of cost savings that may be realized in such a system the POS system produced a small increase in the readiness of the battalion. Chapter V presents the author's conclusions and recommendations for a more detailed and rigorous study of the proposed alternative supply system.

The Storming Media report number is A372723. The abstract provided by the Pentagon follows: This thesis has explored the current issues of defense acquisition management in the Republic of China (ROC). The purpose of this research was to examine the managerial functions in defense acquisition systems and provide recommendations for further acquisition reform in the ROC. Using the exploratory case study approach, this research took a broad look at the ROC defense acquisition system by comparing it with the U.S. acquisition system. To analyze the difference, five functional indicators were selected. These five indicators which represent the managerial functions during the acquisition process include Policy and Statutes, Acquisition Process, Acquisition Organization, Acquisition Workforce Training Systems, and Contracting Management. The results showed that there are several defects among these managerial functions. The major shortcoming of defense acquisition management in the ROC is the overall concept about acquisition. The weak definition on acquisition has contributed most to the defects found in this study. To remove these defects, this research has provided some recommendations to improve the functions of defense acquisition management in the ROC.

The abstract provided by the Pentagon follows: After the demise of Soviet communism, the People's Republic of China (PRC) is often considered an anachronism and relic of a failed philosophy and system. Moreover, Chinese leaders are )assumed to be abandoning their communist roots in all but official rhetoric as the country pursues economic modernization. In fact, the Chinese form of communism has evolved significantly. Struggle has given way to stability, austerity to prosperity, and hostility to peaceful co-existence. This transition has had tremendous ramifications for PRC foreign and security policies. What was once a highly articulated and systematic ideology, providing a distinct and accurate guide to policy choices in the international arena, has become more akin to a set of general principles to guide behavior in an increasingly complex system. This thesis asserts, however, that while many of the specific tenets of Maoism have fallen to the wayside or been modified, many of the concepts, language, and thought processes of Chinese communism continue to form the thinking of Chinese policy-makers, thus they interpret and justify foreign policy choices in ideological terms. Consequently, ideology is more relevant to political processes in China than is commonly recognized.

The abstract provided by the Pentagon follows: This study sought to describe the role of offset organizations in international arms sales. To describe the role of offset organizations, we separated the political, military, and industrial offset organizations in the international arms sale. In the literature review, offset history was introduced for the background of this research, and the impact of offset agreements on both sellers and buyers was discussed. The U.S. and McDonnell Douglas offset policies and organizations were described as a main supplier. South Korea and Taiwan offset policies procedures and organizations were described as an example of recipient countries. Korean Fighter Programs and Taiwan F-16 programs also were described as cases. As one result of this research, that both ROK and ROC want to use the offset agreements to acquire the high technology for improving their aerospace industrial competition in the world and finally become high-tech industrial countries. Second, the ROK's offset organization looks like a bottom- up organization, and it emphasizes the procurement units in Ministry of National Defense (MND). However, the ROC's offset organization is a top-down organization, and it emphasizes the top management level in Department Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA). Both of their offset organizations have some merits and defects, so we made some suggestions for both of them to effectively improve their offset organizations for the future offset agreements.

Customer Reviews:
Interesting.......2003-08-09
In my personal opinion the book was good. It had a lot of information on both the female, and male body's. It was very spiritual, and it basically had a little of everything from karma sutra, romantic nights, body touching as well as erotic massages.
Great quick overview.......2000-12-14
This book has 2 to 4 pages on each of several topics related to sensuality, massage, aromatherapy, male and female focuses, sex, erotic touch, etc. Its a good intro to the topic of Tantric without going very deep. The photos are clear, and it is not a detailed how-to manual. Lightweight, and worth the price of admission to see if you want to explore the topic further. This does not cover the history or philosophy of Tantra. To all Men: read this book and you will start to understand what your woman wants for you to do to "connect" to her more deeply.
