What's so civil about war, anyway?.......2005-06-29

Continuing the story from Dark Horse's previous volume, Female War, this story focuses on the Alien's home world. In Female War, Ripley and the others took the Alien Queen Mother to earth. Now, on the Alien's planet, without her, two queens are vying for the title and the planet is being torn apart.

Back on earth, Corporate Billionaire Daniel Grant has created a new wonder drug called Xeno Zip, which makes the user feel immortal, makes them bigger, more agressive, and stronger than ever. However, some people have a severe reaction and inadvertently kill themselves. With law suits threatening to ruin his empire, he needs a pure form of the drug, Alien Queen Royal Jelly. After making a deal with the military, he and several Marines are off to the aliens home world to obtain a fresh supply.

This is a very good offering from Dark Horse. The art is a little rough, but the style is perfect for the Alien's series. The idea of alien's battling each other is executed very well, and it's interesting to see. The human characters are reminiscent of the human heroes in the previous Aliens books without being rip-offs or clones.

Aliens: Genocide takes place between Aliens: Female War and Aliens: Hive, and collects Aliens: Genocide #1-4. It's very interesting reading, and highly recommended for fans of the Alien's movies.

well this book is pretty good but the artwork is not great the warrior aliens look fine but the two queens are just weird looking [one looks like a dinosaur.]this book isn't that great.it is a neat story though.

Not just any alien book........2004-02-14

First off, i'm only on part 2, but already this book is has left my mouth open. The story is pretty
much the same " capture the queen egg bring back to earth " deal ,but the breeding part is changed. This company wants this'Royal Jelly' used to make a super drug called xeno zip . The xeno zip is made form alien parts left from the alien plauge that happened in Earth Hive, Nightmare Aysllum, and Femal Wars. The drug is to powerful for humans but if this jelly is found the drug could be controlable. So a new cast of chracters are pulled in with bigger and better weapons to travel to the Alien homeworld. When they get there, they find out that a civil war between red aliens and black aliens has broken out.

When you see the fight sceens with the aliens its amazing. The colors are great, the graphics are great, the story is great, the charcters are great. You should get this novel when you see this page, I mean come on, you alien fans out thier can't tell me that you don't want to see aliens ripping the crap out of each other!

Genocide is about a greedy billionaire whose empire is crumbling around him, all because of the horrible side effects produced by his company's widely distributed steroids which are made off the Aliens' royal jelly. Because he has the money to do so, he funds a military expedition to the Alien homeworld so he can get the resources to make his steroid perfect. However, things are going to be a lot tougher for the expedition as the alien planet is in the middle of a civil war(i'll leave you to find out why). A good story with morals based on greed, courage, friendship and trust. These are subjects not commonly integrated into an Alien story, making this book slightly different from the rest. The art was unique, it wasn't realistic in anyway but it was drawn with a lot of effort and the artist's style is very visible. The reason why i took off a star is because the dialogue was cheesy. A lot of Grant's lines, combined with his facial expressions were rather hokey. Get the book and find out for yourself. Grant's character was rather flawed, almost like a stereotypical greedy-man-turns-to-courageous-hero thing. But the original plot, the twists and turns, the entire concept and the overall weirdness of the subject matter makes this a classic in the Aliens library. A lot of other Aliens comics were loosely based on this book, so consider getting it to understand them a bit more. Either way, Genocide is an absolute must for any alien graphic novel collector's library.

This book was great!.......1999-04-01

This book had all of the usual stuff you find in alien novels, plus alot more! For one thing, the characters are completely new, so the story sort of resembles a mystery. Also, the main plot isn't to exterminate the aliens or get an alien and bring it back to earth; I've seen that many times before in the movies and also in the books. This time it is completely different and interestingly strange. I won't spoil the surprise for you, but I will tell you that you wouldn't think of it in a million years, that's how weird it is. Another good point of this book is that it has many new weapons and tools that the characters use. However, like all weapons, they can be a danger to the user as well. I cannot think of any parts of the story that were below average. All in all, if I could give this book 6 stars, I would.

This book was excellent. I found it hard to put it down, I like the new inventions that tackle the aliens more efficiently. The first half of the book is perhaps just down to the military and a business man but it creates interesting thought and then finishes well. Get this book if you enjoyed the other three.

Fine, Well done book.......2004-08-29

I found this book to be very well written. Since i've read all but three of the aliens/aliens vs. predator books ( working on nightmare asylum now, going to get labyrinth right away) I liked the fact that you got to feel the characters and get to know and begin to like them before they went and started the blood lust. In a previous review by another reader (i will not say his name) he claimed it was boring and would not complete it, i personally found that i enjoyed the book because it was not all blood, death, and carnage.

First off, i did like the way it was structured. It gave the plot and setting away in the beginning, so you weren't confused.

Mostly, i liked the characters. They were at times likeable, and seemed to be quite realistic.

The combat was great aswell, but considering there was only about fifty pages of fighting, i really wont say much. Dont want to give anything away!

All in all, it was a very fine read, take my advice, and check it out.

By the way, ALiens earth hive, and nightmare asylum are pretty good, you should consider them also, but forget about female war, it sucks.

This is in responce to the "horrible book" review. All of the Aliens novels writen in association with Dark Horse Publishing (Dark Horse Comics) are adaptations of comic book miniseries previously published by DHC. If you don't like the comics, then don't by the books. They follow the comics exactly with only room to elaborate on thoughts and "gaps" in the series. I for one can vouch that Aliens: Genocide was a great comic miniseries and find it hard to believe that this novel is horrible. Sure it may have more "military stuff" in it than the first three novels (which were also adapted from the Aliens miniseries; Aliens (V0l. 1), Aliens (Vol.2), and Aliens: Earth War), but that is because Aliens: Genocide is the story of the military using the aliens saliva to creat a "super-steroid" for their marines. This is why the novel consentrates on the military.

BEST aliens book!!!.......2002-10-28

I have read ALL the aliens vs. predator books and all of the aliens books except rogue and music of the spears, and this one is ABSOLUTELY the best of them all! Genocide has the best action, coolest eqipment, as some other reviewers said the best and most entertaining writing, and DOESN'T have an overused plot!(more than i can say for any of the other books, even my second favorite, labrynth). Most of the other books could only be enjoyed by aliens fans, but this one is actually a GREAT book which could be enjoyed by all!(so could labrynth by all horror fans, but as i said b4, it's an overused plot). if you are reading the aliens and/or predator books as i am, this is the MOST important one to read cuz it's the best.... read it

I loved the book a lot!.......2002-10-06

This book kept my attention the whole way through. In the book there are two main characters throughout the whole book. They are Daniel Grant and Colonel Alex Kozlowski. The Daniel fella is a ladies man to put it lightly. Then on the other side of the spectrum you have Alex who is kind of a manly lady. She doesnt wear any type of makeup whatsoever and doesnt care what other people think of her. In the beginning of the story it talks of how Daniel puts on a show of his money even though he is running on empty in the cash world. He used to be rich but then lost almost all of it to people who had problems with the main drug that Daniel's company was selling. The problems with the drug he is selling is that it needs alien jelly to make the product but they are right next to running out of jelly so he plans an expedition to the alien Hiveworld to either kill or capture the queen so they can collect all the royla jelly they can. Daniel Grant had not planned on going but when a man called Morton Fisk tries to kill Grant, Grant runs to the safest place he can think of. The spaceship Razzia which is goig to the alien Hiveworld. He gets onboard and they are on their way to the Hiveworld. Thats all I can say without blowing the ending. All I can say is that this book is way worth the reading. Just Read It!

A great Sci-Fi read. A Star Trek / Star Wars mix!.......2001-12-02

I am the brother of the author. For that reason I HAD to read the book. I am also a lover of Science Fiction, so it wasn't a difficult request.

It started off interesting. Michael's middle name is Lewis, and his twin's middle name is Steven. The characters were interesting as characters, but seeing family resemblance made it especially interesting to me.

The space travels were "not of this world," so the relationship to the "real world" were soon left far behind as Lewis left this world for parts unknown. I enjoyed his travels. It reminded me a bit of the original Star Trek television series, with just a touch of Star Wars thrown into the mix. The romance between two characters reminded me of the couple on "Lost in Space." But now I am really dating myself.

The only real criticism I have for this book is the ending. It ended far too soon. It needs a sequel! I just have to know what happens to these very nice people.

I recommend "The Light" to all romantics and those loving a good sci-fi read. It is fun, exciting and "light."

En cuanto al aspecto de la Palabra de Dios, es la misma Biblia a la que estamos acostumbrados, pero esta incluye una serie de datos adicionales que nos ayudan a entender lo que estamos leyendo. Las explicaciones al pie de pagina son excelentes, y nos ayudan a no malentender aquellos versiculos que no son tan faciles, ademas como su nombre nos dice "del diario vivir" estas notas se aplican y se explican conforme a nuestra vidad diaria de tal forma que nos ayuda a llevar una mejor vida en Cristo.

La concordancia es excelente, y facil de usar.

Definitivamente esta es una biblia que todo creyente debe tener, ademas nos ayuda y facilita palabras para hablar de Dios a otras personas.
