Great product! The colour graphics are great, the price was great, and it shipped really fast
Great book!.......2003-01-05
Although I am only in my second semester of German, this book has been fairly easy to read. For English speakers learning German, this book will give you a better understanding of imperative sentences ---the little prince commands the pilot to do things. z.B: Draw me a sheep!
I have read the book several times in English, which of course, helps me to understand the story in German.
It is a wonderful story. I have searched the Internet, and the Amazon price on this book is very fair.
LE PETIT PRINCE - CHILDHOOD TRUTH INTO ADULT WORLD.......2001-03-05
This book is simply to be kept at hand for a lifetime. Coming in a hardcover set, it will easily go through years of passionate reading. The story is halfway betwwen dream and reality. Providing readers with a child-like vision of life. For once it seems that adults might learn from children.... May Le Petit Prince (The Little Prince) also help you to see today's world from another dimension. With each new reading session you will discover a new angle, corresponding to your actual situation.... Multiple-side story, for a multiple-side lifetime.
Simply the best.......2001-02-18
If you ask me about my favorite book, the book that I would take to a lonely island, the book that I would recommend everyone to read: Here is it. I read Saint-Exupery's wondrous story of the little prince in the German translation, but translations cannot harm this wonderful, poetic book and cannot hide the deep thoughts that are expressed in this simple language that makes it sound like a book for children.
Le petite prince is not really a typical text of Saint-Exupery's. He was famous for his activities as a pilot (which presumably ended his life during WWII) and has written several books about this. There are also a few very complex texts (like "Citadelle" which I haven't managed to read completely), and then there is this strange book, which is for kids and not for kids, which contains so much wisdom and ongoing astonishment about the world around us.
The little prince lives on a very (extremely) small planet nearby with his vulcanoes and his flower. On his tour arond the solar system he meets many different people (kings, merchants, ...) until he finally meets with the author who had an emergency landing somewhere in the desert on Earth.
Read this - in what language ever - and be charmed by the little prince!

Book Description
Stranded by a shattered promise on Australia's vast shores, Maggie Chamberlin vowed to shape a new Iife for herself in Sydney. Then she encountered arrogant, wealty Reeve Mckenna, a man as ruggedly splendid as the Australian wilderness. Though he thrilled Maggie's senses and held her proud, untried heart captive, Reeve could not be hers alone. For he was obsessed by a lifelong hope -- to find his beloved brother James, lost two decades before.
Torn between the clash of their wills and the sweet dark rush of desire, they rose time and again to rapture. But Reeve's fierce hunger for the Yankee beauty was not yet love, and Maggie would have the pleasure of his passion and the full surrender of his heart -- or nothing at all!

Disappointing.......2006-04-16
I agree 100% with "bookworm". This first part of this book was great but once the "love?" scenes began that's all there was, over, and over and over again. The story ended and the erotica took over. I am not opposed to steamy sex scenes, but this was just the same description time after time. It actually became a little boring and I couldn't understand why our heroine was so impressed. Kept waiting to get back to the story but it never happened. Compared to other books by Miller, this one was very disappointing.
Tons of sex, but romance? Not quite.......2006-03-23
After being dissapointed by "Taming Charlotte", I didn't really expect to like this.
At first, I did. The author writes about the life of indentured servants in Australia during the late 1800's, which is a setting that rarely gets explored. And she was doing a good job of it. The historical detail was lush and vivid, and wowen into the background in such a way that it never distracted from the plot. Miller has a wonderful, flowing writing style that is easy and enjoyable to read. In fact, it's so absorbing that you often forget that you're even reading a book, because the words paint a picture in your mind so well.
My problem was with the romance. I find that Linda Lael Miller's books are either almost devoid of sex scenes (except for maybe a sweet wedding night scene), or stuffed with torrid ones. This was one of the latter. I'm not a prude, but I need more than just lust between the characters for me to cheer them on. There were constantly fighting, and then all of the sudden he has his head between her legs. Huh? I was left wondering 'where in the heck did that come from?'
If there had been some tender scenes or caring feelings between them before this point in the story, I might have been able to get past this. Instead, it felt rushed and contrived. I can't believe that one second she hates him, then the next she's letting him do the most intimate things to her. It just doesn't make any sense. I want romance in my romance novel, not just sex. Sex without commitment or even affection is not romantic.
I will continue to read Miller's books, as I've enjoyed some of her work in the past ("A Springwater Christmas", "Two Brothers"), but only if I don't have to pay for her books. Too many of them are erotica, and not romance.
Couldn't put it down!!.......2005-04-24
I'm the type of person who hardly ever gets into books, but this one was truly amazing! It only took 2 days for me to read it, since I barely put it down. When it ended I was very upset. I could have read it forever. I can't wait to get started on Angelfire!!
A Wild Ride.......2001-09-14
As always, getting into a new book is slow going...when I started this book, I didn't think I was going to be able to really "get into it" after the first few pages....WOW was I wrong! This book is so fully of passion, drama, humor...I couldn't put it down. You will fall in love with the characters and hate to see this book end...you MUST buy this and read it!!
The Most Magical Book!.......2000-04-18
This was the best book that I have ever read by Linda Lael Miiler. I simply loved everything about this novel, especially the two characters Reeve McKenna and Maggie Chamberlin. Reeve was simply beautiful with his rugged good looks and charming wit. Everything about him exuded power and sensuality and while I read this book I found myself wishing for a man like him more than once. His beloved,Maggie,is just as wonderful. She was the type of person who refused to let anything get her down. Fiercely independent at heart, she proved to be a perfect match for Reeve who was also very independent. Take my word for it, these two characters will take you,the reader, on a wild adventure of outrageous love and laughter. I promise that you will not be disappointed with this book. So please go to Amazon and buy it. (Please!)

Don't waste your time.......2003-07-02
If you've already read the first book in this series then you know how boring Ms. Robbins writing is. Don't even read the back cover of this book, just pass it on by. There are much better pre-historic books waiting for you: Jean M. Auel, The Gears, Lynn McKee, Mary Mackey. I'd even say William Sarabande is better than Ms. Robbins (but not by much).
Reverent, disciplined, entertaining tale of ancient mystery........2001-03-03
Moon Fire is a vibrant, tapestried tale of love and betrayal and heroism among the Ancient ones of Chaco Canyon. Its prose is delicate, spare and stately, conveying both passion and restraint in a wealth of cultural detail.
Moon Fire is a gifted student of the Sun Priests who develops her special ability to communicate with animals to help her people. Moon Fire threads a precarious existence in the time of the Great Drought when the peoples of Chaco Canyon gradually left their stone dwellings to seek better sustenance (presumably). Moon Fire's family suffers hunger, thirst and fear of betrayal and falseness on many levels. The bravery of Moon Fire, her brothers, and her lover and life mate, the Sun Priest flutist WenaAhote, are fully challenged and displayed. In this tale of multiple counter-betrayals contrasted with the steady vision of truth, the culture of the ancient Anasazi comes again to life.
A reverent, disciplined tone pervades and reanimates this tale of ancient mystery.

Wonderful Read for 1992.......2006-04-18
Lucas Bonner was hung [but not dead] for the murder of Molly [who continued to haunt him]but was there fowl play there?
He took the chance to "steal" a horse, saddle and a Hawkins rifle from his ranch before heading out for Mexico.
Luck was with Nah-leen, who landed in a nest of rattlesnakes as she was trying to escape the nasty Mescalero, Juanito.
Nah-leen had spent nine years with the Mescalero Apaches in relative safety until Juanito decided he wanted her.
Lucas found Nah-leen and decided that he couldn't leave her to die alone, he soon became aware of the Mescalero following them as he headed out for a canyon of safety.
In saving Nah-leen, who he found out was Elena O'Toole, he wounded Juanito, who vows not to let the pindah live. Juanito savored the thoughts of the torture the pindah would have to endure before he killed him.
Soon Nah-leen has to help rescue Lucas and their attraction just grows with each passing day. But Lucas is an honorable man. Elena O'Toole is promised the her beloved Bernardo in a childhood betrothel. Her dream is to make it back home to her father, Killian and Bernardo, yet she still feels a strong physical attraction to Lucas.
An excellently written story and worth the read.
Definitely recommended.
Great Book!.......2001-07-05
Lucas Bonner was a dead man-at least to the lynch mob that had left him swinging from a tree. But a faulty noose had literally saved his neck, and he fled to the desert, his soul embittered by betrayal...Until he found Elena, the beautiful white captive whose life he would save...and whose love he could never have. Elena O'Toole's nightmare was nearly over. Soon she would be reunited with her family and her betrothed after years of being an Apache slave. And she owed it all to Lucas Bonner, the moody, silent drifter whose face begun to fill her dreams.

The Invisibles, Book 5: Counting to None.......2005-04-13
After the cryptic storytelling (and low sales) of Volume 1 of the Invisibles (collected in Books 1-3), creator/writer Grant Morrison took some advice from John Lennon for Volume 2: Morrison would now "put the message across with a little honey," as Lennon had once stated was his intention for the mainstream "Imagine" LP.
Morrison wanted Volume 2 (collected in Books 4-6) to be "American" in its approach: flashy, violent, sexy, extravagant. He also wanted to satirize all of the elements of big-budget action films, the desired effect being that his readers would eventually see the inherent problems with them: if "heroes" can cause so much death and suffering, then how can they be good? Unfortunately, this went over the heads of most readers, some of whom still claim that Volume 2 was a misstep, the Invisibles "Americanized" so the comic would achieve better sales. They're wrong. Volume 2 was the best of the Invisibles, as far as I'm concerned.
Book 5 is composed of three story arcs. The first, "Time Machine Go," finally answers many questions about Ragged Robin. We see into her "past," as we witness her life as an Invisible in 2012. Robin's future cell is composed of Takashi, a Japanese scientist who features in the 1997 portion of the story (aka the "main" storyline of the series), a few unknown Invisibles, a heavyset Lord Fanny (who asks Robin to tell him/her to diet in the past), and an older Jack Frost, who doesn't curse nearly as much. The 1997 narrative concerns a duo of Japanese Aum hoods torturing Takashi for information regarding his time machine. King Mob comes to the rescue in one of the goriest rescue scenes ever, a scene which features my favorite one-liner of all time: King Mob's "YOU look like someone with an interesting story to tell." This story arc also provides more answers to old questions: namely, what the "Invisible College" is, and also what exactly the Invisibles and the Archons are fighting for.
The next story arc is "Sensitive Criminals," which is one of my favorite arcs of the entire series. Here King Mob travels back to 1920s London, and meets up with an early 20Th Century Invisibles cell. This arc is very similar to Volume 1 in feel and plot. King Mob, who visits the past via a trance, appears to the `20s Invisibles as a ghost with substance, and he helps them activate the Hand of Glory. The `20s Invisibles cell is interesting, with a young Edie (who previously appeared in the series as a 90 year-old woman), her cousin Freddie (whom we know better as the old and wizened Tom O'Bedlam in Book 1: "Say You Want a Revolution"), and their very own King Mob, this one a goateed soldier who cares little for occult stuff, and would rather just shoot at figures of authority. Special mention must be made of Brian Bolland's cover art for the final issue of the "Sensitive Criminals" arc; it's a shot of Edie lying in bed, mostly naked, taking a hit from an opium pipe. Without a doubt, it's one of the most erotic illustrations I've ever seen.
"American Death Camp" is the last arc collected in the book. Unlike the previous two arcs, "Camp" mostly takes place during the main narrative, with the occasional flashback to Boy's past. Picking up where Boy's background story (contained in Book 3: "Entropy in the UK") left off, here we finally find out who exactly Boy is, what she's doing with the Invisibles, and what her motives are. King Mob and the other Invisibles search for her, with Jack's godlike psychic abilities aiding them along the way. There's a great scene toward the end where they break into the building Boy's being held in, and are assaulted by "viral words," some which distort their sense of reality, others which make them launch into "autocritique." Speaking of which, Robin's line during this autocritique session is one of the funniest in the series. "Camp" is filled with intriguing ideas and concepts, but one thing that bugs me about this arc is that it's all a big fake-out, with cover-story upon cover-story, until the whole narrative becomes flustered; signs of what Morrison would ultimately do with the series itself.
Phil Jimenez handles the art chores, and as usual, his work is detailed, crisp, and gorgeous. Towards the end of the book his art loses a bit of its luster; no doubt due to his receiving scripts from Morrison late, and rushing to finish the artwork on time. Chris Weston fills in for one issue, appearing for some reason under the pseudonym "Space Boy." Weston and Jimenez's artwork is comparable, so this doesn't imply a drop-off in art quality, something that plagued the previous trade paperbacks.
"Counting to None" also includes an Invisibles short story that was published outside of the series: "And We're All Policemen," which originally appeared in "Vertigo: Winter's Edge" (cover date: Winter 1998). Simply put, "Policemen" is a split-second fantasy King Mob experiences moments after the last page of the final issue of the Invisibles (which can be found in Book 7: "The Invisible Kingdom"). This is according to Morrison himself. "Policemen" features cartoonish art from Philip Bond, who later provided pencils in Volume 3.
Incidentally, there was another non-series Invisibles story. "Hexy," published in the one-shot comic "Absolute Vertigo" (cover date: Fall 1995), was a 6-page story with inky but detailed art by Duncan Fegredro, and dealt with King Mob trying to overcome a spell. Enjoyable but inconsequential, "Hexy" was never collected in the Invisibles trade paperbacks. I assume this was either because Morrison and DC/Vertigo forgot about it, or because no one could figure out where in the Invisibles' continuity it took place. I've always been under the impression it takes place directly before the events in Book 1: "Say You Want a Revolution," so it's a shame it's not included in that collection.
Morrison is hitting his stride..........2003-03-13
Volume 4: Counting to None continues the Invisibles vacation in America with three stories that really begin to flesh out what Grant Morrison is trying to get across.
I really enjoyed Time Machine Go, the first arc. Morrison can really sound like he knows what he's talking about, the story is very dense with mangled quantum physics and magic. It's really quite enjoyable.
My first worry about the Sensitive Criminals arc was that it was Acadia (from Volume 1) revisited, and would be hard to truly appreciate. This was not the case; this is a great time travel story, short and quick.
This volume closes out with betrayal and some interesting concepts, such as the 26 letter alphabet and out of left field creation theory. There are a lot twists and turns, and it's best to take it slow and try and absorb the facts, or else it begins to make little sense.
This volume starts a great stretch of stories in the Invisibles series, and it really begins to feel like Morrison has hit his stride.
A real solid effort and a great read.

Tantric Sex in Comicbook Shock!.......1999-02-06
I loved the first volume of THE INVISIBLES. It was intelligent and funky and far-out. The first story arc of Volume 2 (collected in 'Bloody Hell in America') was good, but not a patch on what had gone before. It seemed too much like an attempt to 'dumb-down' and 'bloody-up' the series for the benefit of the economically all-important Preacher demographic. But the stories collected in this trade paperback restored my faith in the series: the wit and wacked-out wisdom of Volume 1 tantrically coupling with a brash, pop-American sensibility.
How to describe the stories in here? Well ... imagine James Bond meeting Philip K Dick via Terence McKenna, Robert Anton Wilson and Alistair Crowley. Imagine a world (our world maybe?) where the 'good guys' use psychic time-travel, unashamed Situationist posturing, big guns and tantric sex rituals to ensure that the insectoid 'bad guys' don't bring about an holocaustic apocalypse. Imagine some of the finest and most intelligent writing in the comic industry marrying some of the finest line drawing. I loved every single page. Never has anything so profoundly cool also read as such an intricate and insightful critique of the way we live. Really, there's nothing like THE INVISIBLES being written at the moment. If only for the sake of posterity you should pick up a copy. That is, of course, if there is a tomorrow ... TimeMachineGo baby!

Customer Reviews:
An inspiring read!.......2007-08-27
"Organizing for the Spirit" is a wonderfully insightful and inspiring book! Not only does Sunny Schlenger help me organize the clutter but she also reminds me that to be able to continue to give of myself to my family and my community that it is absolutely necessary to take care of my spirit by focusing on those things that bring joy into my life. She energizes me to rediscover my dreams that have been lost under my list of to do's and provides meaningful exercises to help me work towards those dreams. I find Sunny's book to be a helping hand in guiding me towards my inner happiness. A book to be re-visited when my spirit starts to wilt and needs a little nourishment!
Not useful.......2006-03-14
Perhaps the author is a better speaker than she is a writer and perhaps her workshops are more inspiring and insightful than her books? Unfortunately this book was neither informative nor inspiring. It consists of rambling remeniscenses about the author's life, which seem unrelated to what the author supposedly set out to do (to make the details of your life meaningful and manageable). She rehashes cliches and clobbers us over the head with heavy-handed metaphors. Ugh. The only thing that could have saved this book was better editing , which would have left you with 1 page of material that was worth reading (the exercise of walking through your home and assessing what you love and what you don't). There are far better books than this, using far better exercises to help you discover what you love, what your values are etc. Don't waste your money or your time on this one!
Good Reading.......2006-02-24

Great wisdom Workable solutions.......2006-02-10
Organizing for the Spirit is a good book for the small pieces of wisdom one finds throughout the book that challenge the reader like in Chapter 2 where one finds the suggestion that we enter our place of resident as if a visitor. Then quietly survey the surroundings and ask oneself what the space tells about the person who lives here. And then ask oneself what does one want to project when a visitor enters?
Does ones space tell what you want? Then the author asks the reader to check off from a list what do you value most today? Some of the choices are Adventure, Affection, Autonomy, Challenge, Change, Community, Competence, Contribution, Creativity,Effectiveness...Happiness, Health, Integrity, Location... Privacy, Religion, Security, Wisdom.
Her Organizing As Self Discovery is good because it challenges the reader to savour going thru things and choosing what really matters, as well as becoming self disciplined and actually finishing some unfinished projects that you really wanted and want to do, and the sense of accomplishment one gets from becoming refocused. Maybe this is why Spring Cleaning is so invigorgating to me.
One of my favorite books is Write It Down Knowing What You Want and Getting It by Henriette Anne Klauser where she suggests keeping a journal. Same with Sunny Schlenger the author of this good book Organizing for the Spirit. She notes in Pat Attention Through Writing A Column 'Writing a column is a good exercise for sensitizing you to the present moment and enabling you to look at things with a fresh eye. It doesn't matter if you think you can't write. The purpose is to find something --anything--that piques your interest and then explore your thoughts and feelings on the subject'. I prefer a journal myself, but writing ones thoughts down daily permits a person to fine tune what they really want from what they think they want, over weeks and months.
Her Living In Procrastinationland reminds me of another book I appreciate The Procrastinator's Handbook: Mastering the Art of Doing It Now by Rita Emmett. Procrastination is one if not the main reason people end up with such a cluttered life. Cluttered home, cluttered life.
Her Redeveloping Frontier Values is excellent because the author reminds the reader that (page 122) 'Todays kids don't get to see the relationship between what they do to help their family and the intrinsic value of that contribution. For excample, if you went out and milked the family cow, you were able to put food on the family table. When you tended a garden, you did the same. If you built a drinking trough for the family horse, or put tar in the chinks of the log cabin roof, or sewed a dress, there was a visible connection between your efforts and the service that was provided'. This is something I wish more parents today would realize. Especially those who give their kids everything materially, since I believe children want boundaries and a sense of purpose which helping out at home provides.
Also appreciate the authors views on giving to others, because some of the best years in this country (USA) were pre 1990's when people were more involved in community groups as volunteers helping others. Every religion I have studied have some belief that its more blessed to give and that in giving we are blessed.
Organizing Benefits.......2004-06-02
We've seen so many de-cluttering and organizing books over the last five years that you wouldn't think there was room for anything new. Yet, Sunny Schlenger's Organizing for the Spirit is a breath of fresh air.
Schlenger has always taken a different approach, promoting that each individual has his own organizing style and needs. Her new book helps you take stock of all aspects of your life, identify what really matters, and then set priorities. For example, you end up knowing what your stuff means to you, how it helps or hinders you, and what you can do to make that stuff be part of your personal development.
An easy read, "Organizing for the Spirit is about achieving harmony between our inner and outer selves," says the author.
