I laughed, I cried, I moaned and groaned...Kind of like a day in the arena.
If you are not a 'horse person' you will still relate to the narrative.

A good laugh makes the world go 'round, and Judy Singer kept me going 'round through the whole story! Her humorous and sometimes irreverant attitude about divorce and human relationships rang so true--and horse people are the best at messing things up!
Horseplay is a wonderful look at dreams shattered and found.

I thought this book was extremely funny. The lead character's descriptions of people and events are wonderful! I think this is a book any woman would enjoy even if she is not horse crazy.
Hysterical Horse People.......2007-02-26
This is one of the most hysterical books I've ever read. I thought it was so funny I had to e-mail the author to tell her what great laughs she had given me. (She has another book coming out in June.)My husband read it first, on an airplane, and I was reading over his shoulder and we were hooting out loud. We are trail-riding horse people, but not dressage riders. If you know anything about horses at all,whatever your "discipline," and the people who surround them, you will appreciate this book. I have ordered numerous copies for Christmas presents for all my friends for next year.

This is a great book. I got so wrapped up in the story line that I cried when they cried. I love to read a story that affects me this deeply. As usual, Kat Martin has done it again.
If I could give this book more than 5 stars I would do so.

Kat Martin gives us an amazing story full of romance, passion, mystery, and intrigue. The main characters, Rayne and Jocelyn, are so well written. Kat Martin at her best in this novel.

Kat is definitely my favorite romance writer and I loved this book tremendously. At times it was hard to read, because of some of the tragedies these 2 face, but their love is deep enough to pull them through. I found the story very compelling, the characters wonderful, and the depth of the emotions rich and rewarding. I had read Devil's Prize first, so knew of the characters from that, and I'm so glad I finally found this one to find out how their story came about. Kat always writes in such a way that I absorb the characters into my life while I am reading the book and for days after.

Not a bad story, as far as military sci-fi goes. I had a hard time getting past the "archeology" aspects of some of Mars' more controversial geographical features, but I'm like that sometimes.
I liked the fact that the "good guys" weren't supermen, and the "bad guys" were well portrayed as tools of their government, doing their bidding because they are ordered, and not because they are just into doing evil. The end was a little monty haul, but not outside of the realm of possibility.
Overall, this was an enjoyable read.
Suspense, Mars and Marines.......2007-06-01
I love this book, in fact I love the series. With all the face on Mars stuff we heard about Ian Douglas writes a gripping tale of Marines on Mars. Well written, great plot.

I bought these 3 books while I was stationed in Galveston, TX, because I needed some reading material to pass time. Ian Douglas delivers some of the best Sci-Fi books I've ever read. When I finished reading the first book I loaned it to one of the guys in operations. He finished reading so fast that I still wasn't done with Luna Marine. These books got passed around to about 12 people in my crew and everyone was fighting over them. They're that good.

I am not a huge sci-fi fan. I don't know how I stumbled across this book, but I am glad I did. It is a great thriller to read. Relics are being found on mars that may have human origin. At the same time the United Nations is trying to take over the world. I can't wait to read the next 2 books in the trilogy.

This book had some valid points, but it was clearly written in a different time. Thirty years ago, societal thinking was a lot different, so his points would be more accepted than they are today. Still a good read.
A very logical and applicable guide to answering peoples questions........2006-01-17
The book does a great job of starting a square one...does God even exist then systematically just walks right on through topics leading up to did the resurrection of Jesus then goes into a few other areas of common questions. Each chapter is devoted to a topic and even includes a nice flow chart to help illustrated where each possible avenue leads to. Each chapter builds on the previous but since each chapter is devoted to its own stand alone topic you can just jump to that question to look for how to logically think through and reason the evidence.
The book handles all topics with enough throughness to give satisfaction with each topic while still maintaining good "readablility"
I'm Glad You Asked Hits the Mark.......1999-12-28
This is the third copy of I'm Glad You Asked I have purchased. I keep "lending" copies of this book to others as a valuable reference, particularly when witnessing to non-Christians or Christians seeking to learn more about some very good questions: "What makes Christianity different?" "Doesn't Anyone who is good get to Heaven?" "What about those who have never heard the Gospel?"
I have several other books, including books by Hugh Ross (Creation and Time), Barry Wood (Questions non-Christians Ask Today) and Geisler and Brooks (When Skeptics Ask). All of these are good books, but I found this book answers the questions that are relevant today in a very readable yet thoughtful manner. It's well worth the investment.

The key strength of this book is in the fact that it challenges the reader to ask the question, " Is my faith reasonable?" If the answer is " No ", then the reader is then confronted with the decision of whether to hang on to an irrational faith or to discard it.
Christianity is viewed by many as a leap of faith and not a rational world view. This book walks the reader through the rational arguments for belief in the claims of Christ and of the historical Christian Faith.
I have used the book for personal study and as a course in evalgelism for young people and adults. I have watched as the syudents grew in confidence and became eager to take a reasonable Faith out into the market place of ideas.
