What does a stay-at-home mother do when her executive husband divorces her? She goes to plan B: restore her birthplace and maybe her heart along the way.
Customer Reviews:
Back to Plan B.......2006-03-15
I alway enjoy reading anything Sasan Mallery writes. But I was disappointed in this one she left you hanging at the end. What happened with her teenage daughter? tHE 2 new men in her life?
I would pass on this book!.......2006-02-25
For the first 140 pages the main character dealt with rude and mean daughter and mother. I was ready to give up on the book at that point. Then the book did a turn around and Carly found her voice and decided to fight for her life. She has to save her B&B and make the cute ghostbuster believe that Mary the ghost is real. I was just getting into the story and then it stopped....
There is always a plan B.......2005-09-08
I normally like the books that susan mallery writes, but I thought this one was not up to her standard. It was OK. And I was really bored so I read it. But, some of the situations were not as believable as could be. However, her relationship with the daughter and the ex-husband were good.
extra special.......2005-08-12
So far have loved all the new NEXT books--every one's different, but also a special read in its own way. I read all Susan Mallery's work before this and she's a must-buy for me, but this one--just totally loved it. All the relationships were so real. This had humor, was a fast read--but also had poignancy and emotional depth. Strongly recommend.
I was looking for more.......2005-07-19
I recently stumbled across a Susan Mallery book and since then have read all that I can get my hand's on. I truly enjoy her writing. I can't say I loved this book as much as others, but I did enjoy it. When I got to the end of the book I turned the page looking for more. It wasn't the ending I expected, but perhaps that is a good thing. This morning I woke up thinking about the book and its ending and realized it was more true to life than other stories. It did leave me wanting another book about Carly, her daughter, and especially Adam. I would certainly recommend this book to Susan Mallery fans as well as those who have never tried one of her books.

Book Description
Mark Rubin claims he and his beautiful wife had a flawless, happy marriage. Yet one day, without warning, Natalie gathered up their children and vanished. The police can't do anything because all the evidence indicates she left willingly. So the successful Baltimore furrier turns to private investigator Tess Monaghan.
Tess doesn't know quite what to make of her client, a wealthy Orthodox Jew who refuses to shake her hand and doles out vitally important information in grudging dribs and drabs. But the deeper she digs, the more Tess suspects that the motive behind Natalie's reckless flight lies somewhere in the gap between what Rubin will not say and what he refuses to believe. An intricate web of betrayal and vengeance is already beginning to unravel, as memory begets rage, and rage leads to desperation -- and murder. And suddenly the lives of three innocent children are dangling by the slenderest of threads.

"
The winner of every major literary award in crime fiction, Laura Lippman brings back her complex and vulnerably human Baltimore P.I., Tess Monaghan, in a tense, expertly spun tale of a family torn asunder by forces it can barely comprehend.
Mark Rubin's family is missing -- and the police can't do a thing because all the evidence indicates that his wife left willingly. So the successful furrier turns to Tess Monaghan, hoping she can help him find his wife and three children. Tess doesn't know quite what to make of Rubin, a wealthy Orthodox Jew who refuses to shake her hand and doles out vitally important information in grudging dribs and drabs. According to her client, he and his beautiful wife, Natalie, had a flawless, happy marriage. Yet one day, without any warning or explanation, Natalie gathered up their children and vanished.
Tapping into a network of fellow investigators spread across the country, Tess is soon able to locate the runaway wife and her stolen progeny, moving furtively from state to state, town to town. But the Rubins are not alone. A man is traveling with them, a stranger described by witnesses as ""handsome"" and ""charming"" but otherwise unremarkable to these casual observers, who have no way of sensing the fury beneath his smooth surface.
The motive behind Natalie's reckless flight lies somewhere in the gap between what Mark Rubin will not say and what he refuses to believe. An intricate web of betrayal and vengeance is already beginning to unravel, as memory begets rage and rage leads to desperation -- and murder. And suddenly much more than one man's future happiness and stubborn pride are in peril; the lives of three innocent children are dangling by the slenderest of threads.

Vat in the Vorld Vas She Thinking?.......2007-09-16
People seem to love this author--and I rather liked Every Secret Thing myself--but I had to force myself to finish this one. The title has nothing to do with the book, for starters; the humor is all facetiousness--there's rarely anything genuinely funny about it; the plot is tediously predictable; and finally, in the penultimate chapter, one of the characters--suddenly and inexplicably bereft of a thick accent--explains the whole silly shebang to another character (who already very well knows everything) strictly for the readers' benefit in a bit of bad dialogue and plotting laziness that almost made me throw the book across the room. I'm sure I'll give Ms. Lippman another chance someday--she is, I think, much better than this--but here she is just phoning it in. Three stars for Isaac and the Jewish uncle ONLY.
Intriguing until the politics.......2007-01-07
This is the first Laura Lippman novel that I have read and for the most part enjoyed the book. I enjoyed the Baltimore feel and the main character Tess Monaghan. I was engaged by the story line and I thought the pacing was OK.
In fact the book was such a good read that I was able to gloss over the Snoop Sister Instant Messaging/Chat Room as an almost a too convenient dispenser of assistance and clues.
However, towards the end of the book, Lippman uses the main character to wax political on the state of social services, the insensitivity of the administration, and the soullessness of anyone who does not support a nanny state. I found this tedious and distracting -- though I realize other readers may find it worth cheering about. I prefer to keep my crime mysteries free of preaching.
another good one.......2006-10-21
I love Lippman's Tess novels. Can't wait to read the new one!
A disappointing read, not up to the standard of Lippman's previous books.......2006-07-24
In By a Spider's Thread PI Tess Monaghan is employed by a rich Jewish furrier to find his missing wife and children. The police are not interested as it appears the wife has left voluntary. Enter super sleuth Tess to hunt down the wife and children and solve the mystery of their disappearance. Along the way there is a death and some twists in the plot.
The backgrounding was ponderous and the pacing of the book was lacking. I found the internal dialogues distracting. I appreciate that they are there to give us insight into the characters but I didn't think it was effective. There was a lot of information on the customs of Orthodox Jews if this interests you. I found it a snore-fest and couldn't wait to get to the actual story, lacking as it was.
Tess Monaghan was revealed as having a mystery in her life a few months prior to the book, presumably this was to create intrigue however it simply confused the reader. Towards the latter part of the book the pacing improved and I saw glimpses of the writing that has won Lippman a variety of awards.
Without a doubt the hero of the book is Isaac the eldest of the three children. He showed himself to be smart, resilient and principled. Isaac saved the book and his family with his extraordinary intelligence and determination to get back to his father. Tess tapping into a network of PIs around the country yielded some leads, but in the end she was not a major contributor to the rescue of the family. It almost made you wonder why she was there. Admittedly she was hampered by a client who was reticent with relevant information but overall it was a soggy disappointing tale.
I read an earlier Lippman book, The Sugar House, and found that a more enjoyable read with more complex and interesting characters and better plotting. I found Tess's flaws more believable and the psychology behind eating disorders interesting and informative.
New uses for the trunk of a car...........2006-07-01
In Laura Lippman's newest Tess Monaghan series, the trunk of a car proves to be a harrowing prison for Isaac, who is frantically trying to contact his father, Rubin. Rubin is an orthodox Jew who comes to Tess, asking for her help in finding his wife, Natalie and his three children. Isasc is the oldest of the three, devoted to his father, and deeply resentfull of Mom's new companion, Zeke. Zeke and his new 'family' are on the road, and Tess is in hot pursuit, accompanied to her surprise by the client, Rubin. Not much character development, but Rubin as the smart and sassy client is interesting, and Tess proves to be a foil for Rubin's character. The reader has to find the endearing Isaac a welcome change; child as inventive character who refuses to be a victim.

Book Description
Archaeologist Nicolette Nick Scott and her father are looking for the remains of the Anasazi empire in Utah. Instead, Nick uncovers a 1937V-12 Packard convertible that was the getaway car of a pair of infamous bank robbers in the 1940s. In the cars trunk is a document that hints at an evil 60-year-old conspiracy. Looking for answers, Nick soon finds that there are people still willing to kill to keep these explosive secrets safe.
Customer Reviews:
Nicely worked sleuth.......2002-12-06
Nicolette "Nick" Scott is an 'Historical Archaelogist,' meaning that she likes to dig up the recent past; as opposed to her father who is a "real" archaelogist (Elliott Scott). There's some old family friction going on thanks to Nick's dead mother and Nick's chosen field of study. But when Nick goes to an Anasazi site with her father, and she finds a 1937 Packard convertible in an abandoned building, both her and her father are happy with this site...for a while.
The Packard, it turns out, belonged to two notorious bank robbers of the past named Knute and Nora. But Knute and Nora robbed the wrong bank, a bank that had some top secret documents in it that the government wants to remain hidden now that so many years have passed. Unwittingly, Nick sets into motion a plan to destroy all those who know anything about this old car and the documents it contained.
What ensues is a fast paced, action-filled, sleuth-yarn that will keep you reading into the wee-hours of the night. Will those government killers catch up to Nick, her Dad and her friends? Will the slimey boys get their just dessert? Read and see.
My only issue I had with the book was its ending; it ended rather abruptly (indicating a sequel maybe?). And the fact that a love interest of Nick's was killed right in front of her and there was no emotional response also seemed unlikely. But other than that, this book was a pure joy to read. It'll stay on my shelf to be read again...later.
B+ rating.
fascinating amateur sleuth.......2002-10-09
Knute and Nora were bank robbers and folk heroes in 1940 Utah until they robbed the wrong bank. Unbeknownst to them, top secret documents were taken along with the cash and the media was told they slaughtered everyone in the bank, which was a lie. They died in a shoot-out after they already surrendered but the documents and the cash was never found.
In July 2001 in Gulch Canyon, Utah, historical archeologist Nick Scott and her father are searching for Anazzi ruins. In one of the caves she finds the top secret documents and realizes the information she has. She can change the way people look at the attack on Pearl Harbor. However, there are people who prefer those papers never see the light of day and will go to any lengths to stop her.
THREAD OF THE SPIDER is a fascinating amateur sleuth tale starring a protagonist one must admire for her tenacity. The plot is fast paced and filled with enough startling revelations to keep reader interest throughout the plot. Val Davis is a natural storyteller who parcels out crucial information one tantalizing piece at a time.

Book Description
The story of a rich jewelry merchant of ancient India and his slave who encounter a wise Buddhist monk. The tale teaches the lesson of cause and effect, kindness and compassion, greed and hatred. Bilingual/Chinese English with color illustrations. Designed for children, but the lesson learned in the story is universal.
Customer Reviews:
My opinion of Spider Thread.......2003-01-09
Spider Thread
This book is bilingual, in English and Chinese. The illustrations are very pleasing to look at, making use of soft colors.
The story is wonderful. It is about the events in the life of a jeweler from ancient India, named Pandu. On one of his travels he meets a Buddhist monk, and offers him a ride. A series of interesting events occurs, I won't give away the whole story.
Also there are wonderful short poetic verses that help children (or maybe adults!) understand the principles that the story is trying to teach.
My favorite of the verses is:
He who hurts others hurts himself.
He who helps others helps himself even more.
To find the pure Way, the Path of Light,
Let go of the falsehood that you have a self.
My favorite part of this book is the short story that a second monk in the story tells to Pandu's former slave to comfort him at the end of his life. It is from this short story that the book gets its name, and it is truly wonderful.
My friend first told me the story about the Spider Thread one night to cheer me up, and that is how I heard of the book. Every time I read it, if I am feeling really low, it cheers me up. I think it is a good book for kids, and adults, too.
A thought provoking story for all ages.......2003-01-08
A wonderful story for both children and adults about the workings of karma. Rich merchant Pandu learns that when he harms others, harm will eventually come to him.
Lovely color illustrations.
The only minor distraction from an othewise fine book, is that the placement of the bilingual text is often awkward.

Better than the first book which only improves the story........2005-08-19
The Guardians of the Lost is the second book in the Sovereign Stone Trilogy by Margret Weis and Tracy Hickman. In the second installment the plot is moved considerably forward at the same face pace as was found int he first book. the characters are also more defined in this book and their roles are more clear than in the first book.
This world is unlike their Dragonlance books in that they have complete control over what happens and it's noticably a little darker than their other works.
The story during the Sovereign Stone Trilogy moves along at a break neck pace. There are multiple twists along the way. I thinkt he thing I like best about this trilogy is that the 'villian' starts off as a good guy for the most part, but with misguided ideals. He doesn't really know he's being evil he thinks he's doing what's best.
Overall, if you are a fan of Weis and Hickman's Dragonlance Chronicles of Death Gate cycle you should give these books a chance. The world if fresh and different from most that is out there today.
If you're ready for a new journey, jump aboard and get ready for a fun enjoyable ride.
Lord Of The Stones.......2005-04-18
Guardians Of The Lost, the second tome in the Sovereign Stone trilogy, follows its predecessor Well Of Darkness with more characters, more races, more action and even more oddity. The setting is 200 years following the fall of Old Vinnengael in the world called Loerem. The races distrust each other and one another while a noble few seek to reunify the sovereign stones and rid the world of evil and woe. The servant of void Dagnarus, still alive and bent on domination, has increased his army of nefarious Vrykyl and moreover used magical portals to gain indefatigable foot soldiers.
For most of the book Guardians Of The Lost bears a close resemblance to Tolkien's Lord Of The Rings. Two sets of companions traverse the land carrying precious (in this case) stones. They flee and approach dark forces bent on capturing them and possession of the prized magical stones. The choice of the companions again defies logic at first, although the gods trust in them is ultimately justified. As battles, betrayals and bewilderment ensues Dagnarus is thwarted in his ultimate dream, but so are the noble companions and their custodians. The book ends mid-saga as danger looms and confusion reigns on all sides.
The fantasy is rich and the characters motley, but one can only wonder at the semblance of the story to the well-known classic of the genre.
Series gets even better in the second installment.......2004-08-26
The first book in this series was very well done and in this second book, the series gets even better. The danger to the realm is much more dire than in the first book as Dagnarus now has an army plus numerous Vykrls at his command. But in typical fantasy tradition there are always heroes to rise to the challenge and defend their land. The characters in this book are very well written and a few even infuse the book with a little humour, something lacking in the first book.
All in all this is a really good book and I can't wait to read the third and final book in this series.
Too Obvious, Backward Characters, and Nothing Accomplished.......2004-08-08
First off, Dagnarus was and still is my favorite character (even though I know, like all my favorite characters, he's going to have to die.)I ploughed through this book like I plough through winter when the snow's up to my waist. Not because the book was bad, mind you, but because I hated to see Dagnarus constantly being thwarted time and time again -- and I knew he would be. But, I didn't take off any stars since that's a personal thing, and not all people love Dagnarus.
That mentioned, and my love for Dagnarus aside, this book lost one star because of the ending. Normally I like a book when something is ACCOMPLISHED at the end, but nothing was accomplished here. New Vinningael hadn't even CRUMBLED at the end of the book. Oh, it was obvious that it would, I have no doubt it will be, but it DIDN'T; The book ends with what could be a guarantee that the stones will be captured, but throughout the book there's been so many times when the same thing was promised, the odds were infinite, and they STILL escaped with both stones. The promise at the end doesn't make you WONDER anymore -- you KNOW that it won't happen; The Grandmother and Bashae, alone and with the human portion of the stone, are ordered to be captured. But again, they weren't CAPTURED, which makes me believe there's a 100% chance that the capturing of these two pecwae, despite that they are weak and cowardly and small, will again be a FAILURE by of an all-powerful Vrykyl.
I didn't like any of the main protagonists, and the ones I did like had the worst ending imaginable - Wolfram and Ranessa. The only two decent characters in the book. Their role was a huge letdown, for several reasons: They were the only flawed characters, and deserved to have a much larger part; Dagnarus knew that they were decoys, so why the hell was he ordering them captured?; and instead of being creative and having a Trevinici who's unlike any other Trevinici, she has to be a dragon, which just shows you how robotic and similar that race is. I was hoping that she would teach the snotty, proud, and ANNOYING Trevinicis a few things.
Success for the good became too obvious (it would have been better if the success of DAGNARUS was obvious, because then you would think, "How the hell are the protagonists going to beat him NOW?") -- furthermore, I was hoping that at the end, Dagnarus would have at least been HOLDING at least ONE of the stones - not promised it AGAIN. I thought the main characters deserved smaller roles whereas the background characters should have deserved larger roles, and the fact that nothing was accomplished made the plot and storyline nowhere near as strong as the Well of Darkness.
Furthermore, I didn't like how a Vrykyl turned its back on Dagnarus when they were linked, and yet a Dominion Lord who has their own free will can't turn a little evil now and then.
I had been about to give it 2 stars, but since there was Dagnarus, Wolfram, Ranessa, Valura, and Shakur (as small parts as these characters had) I bumped it up to 3.
A homage to Tolkin, yet a great book........2004-05-06
Let me tell you the plot of this book, and you'll see how Tolkin gets in: Two people, in this case only one of them is a halfling, are getting a quest which involves carrying a magical item which is the key to rule the races of the world. They ae joined by a wise old person, which happens to be a wizard, and by warriors along the way. A dark Lord, which once owned the artifact, is also searching for it, sending his lethal, undead servants after the party. Reminds you something?
Yet, even though Tolkin's effect is clear, this book makes a great reading. The plot is of course much more complicated than what I wrote above, and Weis and Hickman's amazing character building, world describing and storytelling talent, makes you read this book flowingly, and be eager for more.

I adore these books.......2006-07-10
These books are very different from other books Weis has written. I like to think it's because he/she was left on their own and didn't have a co-writter.
They are simply brilliant. I adore them. They do mirror starwars in some ways, but to me these charachters are completly different.
I can't really think of a good way to explain it, I myself am not a very good writter. These books are DEEP and wonderful.
I read them when 20 and now 7 years later i think I have read them each atleast 5 times. I simply adore these books.
Older reader loves this space fantasy.......2006-03-25
I have read this series at least four times. I continue to pick up Weis's books (and putting them back down after a few chapters) hoping to find one that draws me in the way this book did. No clear cut always right hero or villain in this book and I loved the mixture of old relics and traditions with spacecraft. I knew it had to come to an end but I wish there were someway to come back to this series.
Best.... Series.... EVER!!!!.......2005-07-01
This review encompasses the entire trilogy, not just the first book.
This series has been my favorite read since I read the first book at 13. The couple of years I had to wait before the second book came out was agony, and again with the third book. The characters are incredibly well written, and their interactions are what make this series so great. If you like plausible characters, and a well written world, you will love this book. I've read some of the other books Margaret Weis has written with other authors, and I honestly think she does far better writing alone. Her character's come across much clearer, and the tragedy is far more moving. The plot and theme is pretty much the same as everything else she's written, but her style really shines here.
There are two reasons I find that cause people to be disappointed with this series. These are 1) This book is not "hard" sf. In fact, I would categorize it as "Science Fantasy". If you are looking for a book that has lots of plausible theories and a scientific grounding, you may be disappointed. It's focus is on the characters and the story, not techy gadgets. And 2) this series is definately inspired by Star Wars. If you're looking for something that doesn't make you think of another story, this is not it.
That said, even if you fall into one of these categories I would still suggest you try it. You may be pleasantly surprised.
This is what Star Wars should be.......2005-02-28
These books basicly flow from a similar template to "Star Wars". Sagan is Darth Vader. The guardians are the Jedi. Etc Etc... If you like that sort of story, you will really enjoy these novels. Don't be fooled by descriptions of this series as a "trilogy". I myself have FOUR novels. They consist of "King's Sacrifice" (book one), "King's Test" (book two), "The Lost King" (book three), and "Ghost Legion" (book four). I am unaware of any other Star of the Guardians novels.
Comparisons to other pulp science fiction asside, the best part of these novels is that Weis does a fantastic job of fleshing out the personalities of her characters. Sagan is often conflicted in his desire for power and his regret at his roll in the downfall of the monarchy. Dion Starfire is young, and often careless. Seeminly easily manipulated by the people around him, he has to grow into his roll as a ruler of the galaxy. A roll he doesn't really seem to want. The Lady Maigrey is a former lover of Sagan's and now his bitterest foe. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.
It has been many years since I've read this series, but I still keep the books in my collection and fully intend to read them again some day. I recommend them to anyone who loves galaxy spanning adventure backed by political intrigue and deep believable characters.
The beginning of a journey........2002-11-15
I really owe a debt of thanks to Margeret Weis for writing these books. Seven years ago I was like most teenagers in the world today, my interests pretty much consisted soley of TV. I would occasionally go to the library and take out books, usually hard science science-fiction books. One day in there I saw The Lost King and decided to take it out. That's the day that I'm able to point back and say that I began my journey in literature.
The book is great! The series is great! It starts out very Star Warsyish and then takes over and draws you in. I've read the series countless times since then. I've read a thousand other books since these. It all comes back to these books. I'd be a very different person if I hadn't found them.
If you haven't read them yet... please do. It's just a superb story.

A thrilling, fantastic sequel!.......1998-08-14
I thought it would be hard (and very unlikely) for Cross to top the Fourth Guardian, one of my very favorite novels. The Lost Guardian, its sequel, doesn't top it so much as expands upon it in a wonderful and wholly original way. There are still the thrilling fight scenes and unpretentious manner of the first book, but this one is more alnog the lines of the kind of novels that aren't written much anymore. Wonderful epics with beautiful prose. The opening description of a river and countryside is simply beautiful. Another incredible novel from Cross!

Book Description
This book traces the career of Edith Pope, editor of the Confederate Veteran from 1913-32, who turned the magazine, originally a repository for the wartime reminiscences of Confederate soldiers, into the official mouthpiece for the United Daughters of the Confederacy. Through this vehicle, Pope became a leading champion of the "Lost Cause" movement in the post-Civil War South.

Customer Reviews:
I think she has one of the best books out there........2006-12-25
No. There isn't a miracle pill that makes you lose all the weight. But this book will help to put you on the right path emotionally. It helps you find reality and gives great tips on how to deal with it. If you are large, admit it and then deal with it. I highly recommend this one.
Trying to sell her products........2006-07-25
Don't bother with this book. She promises to let you in on some great motivation she experienced and nothing happens.
Also this book just seems a vehicle to get you to buy her evergrowing junk related to her "plan". Well she didn't need or have all this jazz when she lost all this weight, why should you? She is just trying to make more money. You don't need all that extra stuff she is trying to con you in to. If the book was motivating I would say buy that and use it, but it's not. So it is best to just overlook this whole thing entirely.
Ummmm yea ok........2006-07-11
I read this book in '03 and it was one of the early PB editions. So perhaps some of the glaring mistakes have been corrected.
First off ALL through the book the word "lose" is misspelled "loose". A glaring oversight and highly annoying. There are a lot other typos as well. Sentences that do not make any coherent sense such as on page 83...the bracketed blurb says "Making unhealthy acts the enemy"...what?! And the CONSTANT and repetive use of excalmation points is almost hysterical. Didn't ANYONE edit this book? Tell her that repetive use of !!!'s is horrible writing and immature? God I would say that every other sentence ended in an ! and sometimes a !!. Silly. Perhaps with the newer editon these glaring errors have been edited out by someone competent.
But really even with corrections the book is of not much use. She rambles way to much on her "tragic" life. Really, it's called a divorce...it's not tragedy...lose the drama. I believe she thinks since she lost so much weight that in some way this qualifies her to give motivation and diet advice. Not in any way. She obviously thinks she's a great motivator but her ideas, thoughts and such on that matter are lackluster and nothing anyone who hasn't read at least 3 diet books hasn't heard ad nauseum.
This book reads like someone down the street wrote it and then printed it out..and handed it out. She can't write nor express herself in any commanding, articulate or interesting way. She really doesn't "say" a whole lot. The cover seems to promise some great motivation and or story and it just doesn't deliver.
And one part I found just a tad hard to believe is where she talks about when she was a newborn. She doubled her weight in the FIRST week? Get real. So she was 14 or so pounds at a week old. Yea I buy that one. Also she said her dad didn't know you have to dilute the formula? What? Since when? Perhaps things were different in the 60's but now no way do you dilute it. That's what they do in 3rd world countries and it causes major malutrition and growth stunting.
The whole book just was horrible and if you have any reading sensibilty or intelligence you will look elsewhere. It's another case of someone losing weight and then thinking they have some mindblowing advice to impart.
Excellent/ Excelente!.......2006-05-09
Great book, guides you step by step to a healthy weight loss, more than that to a healthy lifestyle, also has many recipes that are delicious and really easy to prepare, if you are ,like me, looking for a healthy and realistic way to loose your extra pounds and keep them off, buy this book, it's worth it!!
Buenisimo!! compralo, vale la pena!
Awaken the Diet, - Really Awaken my LIFE.......2006-03-03
This book is an easy read, one with an intimate conversational style. Her approach to weight loss is very sensible and sincere. I believe anyone who's struggled with the highs and lows of obesity will appreciate her story, as it spans many of the differences that typically deliniate society, and gets right to the heart of the fat-struggle - valuing oneself enough to make a difference. My personal thanks to the author for the courage to make this public for the benefit of those who need encouragement and a positive approach.
