Matzku Manufacturer: CRC ProductGroup: Book Binding: Hardcover ASIN: 9057023105 |
Book Description
Monoclonal antibodies have had their impact on biomedical research for more than a decade. Besides their exuberant use as reagents, quite a number of diagnostic and therapeutic approaches have been followed, and an impressive number of technological improvements, e.g., humanization, recombinant miniantibodies, have been elaborated to strengthen the principle. With respect to clinical applications, the first generation of antibody "drugs" is yielding promising results while second and third generation antibody constructs are already underway. This book reviews the status of technological development and brings this into the perspective of clinical results. A rapidly growing amount of clinical data is collected in an expanding number of indications. Hence, the review of clinical study results has been grouped according to the fields of oncology and of chronic and acute inflammation.

Lazarus, Come Forth!
Valentin Tomberg Manufacturer: Lindisfarne Books ProductGroup: Book Binding: Paperback Similar Items:
ASIN: 1584200405 |
Book Description
Drawing on the ancient and often-forgotten sources of esoteric Christianity, Valentin Tomberg reflects on the mysteries of humanity's covenant with God in history. The power of these meditations is that they reflect the author's personal spiritual journey into the depths of God's kingdom within-within the soul, within personal relationships, within nature and the cosmos. Part one of Lazarus, Come Forth!-"The Miracle of Raising Lazarus in World History"-looks at an encounter with the Father through the miracles of Creation and the Fall and through Moses and the Old Testament Covenant and the Ten Commandments. Part two, "The Ten Commandments: The Revelation on Mt. Sinai," is a meditation on the seven miracles of Christ as described in the Gospel of St. John, culminating in the raising of Lazarus, the miracle of being raised from forgetfulness, sleep, and death to remembrance, wakefulness, and resurrection. Lazarus thus becomes a paradigm for understanding the spiritual and cultural history of humanity. In part three, "Thy Kingdom Come: The Three Kingdoms of Nature, Humanity, and God," we consider the encounter with the Holy Spirit and living out the life of Christ through the Church. We are asked to reflect on the three kingdoms of God, humankind, and nature, which give natural order and meaning to the Christian life. The union of love and prayer in the Spirit is the focus of the first section of part four, "The Breath of Life," in which we are invited to see our natural breathing as breathing the breath of God. And part four ends with "Natural and Supernatural Images of the Holy Trinity," which discusses the message of the starry heaven at night, the message of the setting Sun, and the message of the birth of a new day. This volume should not be missed by anyone with a serious interest in esoteric Christianity or who merely wishes to go more deeply into the meaning of the Holy Scriptures. A previous edition of this work was titled Covenant of the Heart. It is a translation of Lazarus, komm heraus. The current edition has been revised.

Raising Lazarus: Integral Healing in Orthodox Christianity

ASIN: 1885652798 Release Date: 2005-03-30 |
Product Description
I believe that Raising Lazarus will do much to establish pastoral counseling as a vital integrative ministry within the modern Orthodox Christian Church and off er valuable perspective to those in other denominations as well. Surely the authors have responded successfully to Archbishop Demetrios' challenge to "off er Orthodox Christianity to contemporary America." Their reward will be that they will help many persons in their eff orts to achieve spiritual growth and healing. We are all grateful. Dimitrios G. Oreopoulos Raising Lazarus takes an adventuresome approach to the fundamental practical issue raised by the Christian faith: How are we to live the union of divine and human life that is off ered to us by Christ? The book's clear reply is: Certainly not by a 'spiritual' manner of living, if that means ignoring the psychological and bodily aspects of our being. In their diff erent ways the contributors invite us to use the insights of the Fathers as well as those of contemporary depth psychology in our search for wholeness in Christ, thereby confi rming that the Tradition of the Church is quite capable of facing the challenges of the new century in a lively and constructive manner.
