Great book for fundamentals of electrochemistry.......2007-02-24

This book is a great one to brush up on your fundamentals of electrochemistry and a must-have-on-your-bookshelf item for electrochemists. The latest edition also covers sections on modern day applications of electrochemical methods and serves as a good reference to understand the techniques.

Second Edition updated.......2001-05-03

The 1st edition (the 1980 version) was the gold standard of electrochemistry books, and the authors have done an excellent job of revision for the 2001 2nd edition. In particular, the sections on impedance and modern pulse methods flow nicely. The spectroscopy section has been updated as well. I have not worked many problems, but they seem useful in elucidating concepts. The mathematics is of a higher order than one expects from electrochemistry, showing the impact of kinetics on electrode processes nicely. I recommend this text for electrochemistry courses highly.

Excellent reference.......1997-07-27

This is a very complete and thorough book, and covers all of the fundamentals. It suffers from being somewhat out-of-date (1980), so it does not cover modern techniques (e.g., x-ray, STM) or single-crystal electrodes.

Electrochemical Deposition.......2001-05-26

This book being the first of its kind in the industry on electrochemical deposition is very informative and interesting. Copper damanscene being the future for CMP has somwhat made this book a neccessity to all personnel working in the micro electronics industry.

The book gives a good grounding on electrochemical deposition and the underlying parameters that affect deposition.

The only setback is that there is no effort being made to link the findings in the deposition of copper and how it affects the final CMP process.

Being a new and first of its kind this is forgivable.

Waste of Money.......2006-03-25

This "solutions manual" doesn't actually bother to help you solve anything, it only confirms if you done something correctly. It only provides the answers to approximately 25% of the problems at the end of the chapter.
The biggest problem is that it doesn't show you how to solve these questions, only provides you with an answer. I'd prefer it not give me the answers, but lead me through the theory to solve the problems.
I felt misslead by this book being called a solutions manual, and feel that the price tag is ridiculous for something that is essentially a list of numbers and graphs that should be included in the allready expensive book.
I definately would not recommend this to anyone.

This book is essential item for students who study electrochemistry.
It is very hard to study 'Electrochemical Methods'. But with this student solutions manual, it could become easier.
But, it would be better if all problems were solved.

This book is one of the best I have read on electorns. It had captured my attention and kept it until I was at the end. There at the end I wept openly because I was so sad to see it had ended. So for all of you reading my review, just remember that if you buy this book you will never regret it. Forever this book will keep my curosity about electrons and the way they move.

"Stories I Never Told My Family" presents a curious melange of media and material ranging from short stories, poems, photos, a journal and even a recipe, a game, a greeting card. Parallelling the variety of media is an equally intriguing diversity of style, ranging from sensitive to bodacious. I particularly enjoyed the short stories for their humorous and touching "slice of life" depictions.

Want to laugh to the point of apoplexy? Want to recall the bittersweet pain-lust of youth till you just feel like slapping yourself? Want to escape to a whimsical land of love, longing and flaming bologna sandwiches? Then you want this collection. You MUST buy this CD if only to plan for your next business trip to Dubai.
Veihdeffer has ripped open the literary envelope with ferocious aplomb, blown into it a sharp breath of ingenuity, and whipped out a mixed-genre message that no intelligent, free-thinker could resist. Stories is an upbeat farrago of raw candor and tender insight. There are even a couple poems, and, my gosh, they're downright lovely.

Veihdeffer appears to have a wealth of talent; we can only hope it will show up in his work some day. In addition to many drolleries, this CD contains some fine semicolons and other excellent examples of the Art of Punctuation. We can only ask: Is no form of literature safe from his bizarre perspective? I can heartily recommend this e-book with absolutely no reservations whatsoever to anyone who appreciates nice square corners. The writing's not too bad either.

Unique Fun.......2001-06-24

This is one of the most intriguing and laugh-provoking collections of writing that I have seen for a long time. Most of the pieces are fairly short and humorous but be prepared for "something completely different" at every turn as he meditates on the meaning of Wile E. Coyote, takes himself back to being eight years old or simply catalogues how the irritating problems of the world would be solved he were king (some of which, I'm almost embarrassed to say, had me snorting out loud). There were moments I felt moved by the insightful metaphors, stirring many childhood memories of my own.

The author's droll humor comes through with a kind of knowing wink in every piece, whether he's describing with a smirk his brother's obsessive Christmas morning rituals or a list of Valentine's Day songs I'd never want to hear.

Then there's the recipe! Please, please don't try this at home.

If you're looking for a nice long sentimental love story for the beach, this may not be for you. But if your mind is active and ready for good writing that sneaks up on you in 10 different ways, this could be worth getting. I'm always looking for creative gifts for my hard-to-please friends and this beats the obligatory box of candy or bad tie any day. At least they'll think you're interesting.

You are in for a treat with this eclectic mix of verse, story telling and zany insight.

Fix yourself a baloney sandwich (check the book if you need a recipe), pull up a chair and enjoy.

Veihdeffer has a keen sense of humor and his approach to the varied subject matter is fresh, unique and inviting. It's the kind of stuff that makes you think without working too hard.

I love the poems. My favorite piece, though, is the essay about a boy who finds his eyesight under water years later. It's a delicious slice of American life.

But the book doesn't stop there. It has much, much more to offer, whatever your mood. There is definately something for everybody. Indulge and enjoy.
