Book Description
Although Born and Huang's classic work on the dynamics of crystal lattices was published over thirty years ago, the book remains the definitive treatment of the subject. It begins with a brief introduction to atomic forces, lattice vibrations and elasticity, and then breaks off into four
sections. The first section deals with the general statistical mechanics of ideal lattices, leading to the electric polarizability and to the scattering of light. The second section deals with the properties of long lattice waves, the third with thermal properties, and the fourth with optical
properties.

THE ORIGIN OF THE BORN-OPPENHEIMER APPROACH.......1999-04-28
This is not only the first, but still one of the best, explicit formulation of the Born-Oppenheimer approach, which stands as the basis for most of the quantum chemistry.

Book Description
This volume contains contributions to the XXI International Symposium on Lepton and Photon Interactions at High Energies, held at the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory. It gives up-to-date reviews of all aspects of particle physics, written by leading practitioners in the field. The review nature of all the articles makes this volume more accessible to students and researchers in other fields of physics. In addition to new experimental data and advances in theory, the future directions and prospects for the field are covered.
Book Description
This is a collection of erotic stories celebrating the naughty delights of peeking — and showing off.
The possibilities are endless. Watching a lover undress from the safety of a window or a hidden hole in the wall. Peeking at the neighbors through a crack in the blinds, when they think nobody’s looking. Going to the local strip club to glimpse a beautiful dancer, or to an orgy where a world of sexual scenarios suddenly appears. Secretly watching others as they expose themselves, or reversing the equation by taking center stage to entertain them, can be some of life’s naughtiest delights, proving that the eye is as much a pathway to pleasure as any part of the body. For the dedicated voyeur, exhibitionist, or anyone who can’t resist peeping when they know they shouldn’t, Caught Looking offers scintillating fantasies by top writers in the genre. These stories — from Stan Kent’s celebration of voyeurism “My Finest Hour,” to Saskia Walker’s sexy peep-show “Room with a View” — take the reader inside a world where people get to show off, watch, and feel the vicarious thrill of sex times two, their erotic power multiplied by the eyes of another.

Very Good Erotica Anthology- as to be expected.......2007-09-11
I really enjoyed this book. Not quite as much as She's on Top or He's on Top because somehow in this book being a voyuer means almost always ending up in a threesome here. I'd like to see maybe a boy next door spying on his neighboor girl in the sequel Hide and Seek. My favorites in this were 'Curtain Call' and 'X-Ray Specs'. I can't wait to check out Hide and Seek also by Rachel Kramer Bussel. Also, forthcoming by her are Sex and Candy, Yes, Ma'am and Yes, Sir.
20 stories with something for every viewing pleasure.......2007-01-05
The story by Radclyffe definitely got me looking and caused me to buy the book.

Caught Looking: looking back...........2006-12-27
..not a story in the book failed to arouse.
I don't consider myself necessarily "wired" for voyeurism/exhibitionism but on the advice of a knowledgeable friend I got this primer and learned delightfully that this is one kink all modern people share - perhaps most especially urbanites. 99% of the people we see each day disappear forever the minute we pass them on the street and so the anonymity and the perpetual gaze are somehow baked in.
Breakdown - my fav's: "Sharing The Perfect Cock." Completely unexpected and torrid. A great climax to the book. Again, not a single dud - but these are the ones I go back to in my head. I really loved "The Changing Room" and "The Poet, Dying." "The Key" was *steaming*. Quite a few brought enough blush to my cheeks that I became conscious of being in the company of fellow subway riders.
Hot enough keep the pages turning. Good enough to turn them again.

Book Description
Caught Up In Dreams For Clark Anderson, senior year at Hampton University promises to be her finest yet. The smart sister from Baltimore City has looks, brains, a promising job offer, and now, it looks like she's met her dream guy in handsome law student, Devin Patterson. Though their backgrounds couldn't be more different, wealthy, sheltered Devin falls hard for savvy, inner-city Clark. They're more than lovers; they're soul mates, and their storybook romance is the envy of the campus.
Caught Up In Love But out in the real world, their bond will be tested again and again. From the strain of long-distance love and the pull of two high-powered careers to the well-meaning-but-misdirected advice of friends, the prejudices of family, and the strong allure of new passion and players, Clark and Devin are in for a ride that could tear them apart for good.
Caught In The Mix Now, for two people caught in the mix of secrets, family drama, lies, career struggles, and the hard truths of growing up and moving on, love is anything but easy
and doing the right thing by yourself is the hardest lesson of all.

Long Distance Relationships.......2007-08-26
Caught In The Mix was a page turner...a nice weekend read. This book is about a long distance relationship and also about knowing who you are.
The characters Clark and Devin were realistic and so were the problems they had in their relationship. Their relationship had me caught up because I had to see what was going to happen next.
Candice Dow wrote this book with such smoothness. There wasn't any slow momments....a nice even flow throughout the book. I really enjoyed this book and looking forward to reading her other novel Ain't No Sunshine.
U Need to Let Some People Go from the Jump.......2007-08-23
This was the story of Clark and Devin. Clark met Devin her senior year at Hampton University. Devin was a sophomore at the time and became attracted to Clark after seeing her in a campus calendar.
After graduation, Clark returned home to Baltimore and Devin stayed at Hampton. The two had a strong long distance relationship. Oftentimes, however, Devin would be moody and insensitive to Clark.
When Devin graduated from Hampton, he decided to go to college in NY and then move to Arizona to work at his parents firm. Clark thought about quitting her job in MD to be with Devin in NY, but decided not to risk her future.
Devin again started acting funny and moody with Clark. Clark, given a Paris assignment, rushed back to attend Devin's graduation. Devin brushed her off because he didn't think Clark was good enough for his parents, upper eschelon lawyers (mother white, father black). Devin's parents indeed were rude to Clark.
Devin apologized again and they resumed their long distance relationship. In the midst of all of this, Clark aborted Devin's child because she didn't want to hold Devin back.
One day, after Devin raped Clark, they broke up for a few weeks. Devin started having sex with his study partner, Jennifer. Jennifer got pregnant and Devin and Jennifer ended up getting married.
Other events:
Tanisha- Clark's best friend had a trajedy happen to her
Clark - eventually meets someone new
The book was good, but Devin was not a good catch from the jump. Clark should have let him go when he started being an insensitive jerk.
A Good Start.......2007-04-10
I actually read this book after having read another book by Ms. Dow (Hire Love) and can definiately say that her writing improves. However, I don't want to take away from this work. It was written in a style that makes you relate to the players to the point that you get angry with them, feel their disappointment and hurt. I am glad she didn't fall into the trap of having the book end the way everyone expects it should. I like Ms. Dow's style of writing especially in this day and age when authors writing about African-Americans seem to be limited to sex, drugs and violence.
THIS WAS MY LIFE WRITTEN BY CANDICE DOW! LOL!.......2006-12-18
I IMMEDIATELY HAD TO HAVE THIS BOOK WHEN I READ THE QUICK SUMMARY. I INSTANTLY RELATED TO THE STORYLINE. WHILE READING IT I NEVER PUT IT DOWN. I READ IT FROM FRONT TO BACK IN AN 8HR WORK DAY. I JUST WANTED TO FINISH THIS BOOK. IT HIT HOME BECAUSE I WENT THROUGH SOMETHING VERY SIMILAR. DESPITE WHAT HAPPENED WITH TANISHA. THE CHARACTER JENNIFER WAS IN REALITY MY BEST FRIEND. OKAY, THAT'S ENOUGH GETTING TOO DEEP INTO THE PERSONAL. ALL IN ALL I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS BOOK TO ANYONE WHO HAS DEALT WITH A LONG DISTANCE RELATIONSHIP THAT WENT SOUTH.
Caught In The Mix.......2006-12-07
This was a very good read. Its been a while since ive read it but i do remember that it was very good. Clark and Devins relationship is put to the test i wont say how or if it survives but Devin turns out to be a real tester for Clark. Theres also a side story going on between Clarks brother, his baby mama and the new woman in his life. Nonstop Drama.

Asimov gives an intro here to an area of interest to him, and after the stories he takes a look at the particular biological area each story is focused on. Definitely a good collection with a 3.36 average for stories.

Biology that make you think.......2006-10-24
This was one of my first Sci-Fi books (the other being "Hallucination orbit"...!), then it brings me fond memories. It contains a lot of stories that make you think about discoveries in the bio-field. Notably is the tale that gives name to the anthology: In the future the youngs are viewed as spare parts by the old-timers (who control the laws). A Generation Gap taken to the max... Another one confronts human settlers with a species that evolves acceleratedly to cope with a unestable environment. Will humans be prepared for the next evolution step... It contains "A sound of thunder" (made recently in a movie). Got some outdated (for now standards) radiation victims story. But being all short stories, you will end swiftly those you don't like, to bite in the ones that are worth

Book Description
As you learn about life, you know that an encounter with death is in your future. Most of us don't know when that moment will come. This book presents a collection of short stories based on actual events of death encounters and life threatening situations. The stories are told from the spiritual perspective of the authors Christian Beliefs. With the exception of the Georgia State Trooper in a senseless act of violence, the names of the characters and places have been fictionalized by the author. Any similarities to actual events, any person or place is strictly confidential.
The fictional story, running out of time, reveals the drama of a bad decision by a police officer and the horrible consequences repaid on his close friends, who try to help him out in a jam. All of the fictional stories were constructed from the author's imagination and based on hid Christian religious education and reading the holy bible.

The adventure continues!.......2004-02-02
"Caught In The Act" continues the story of the six Kelly children that were were sent away to get adopted by new families because their mother feels that she cannot afford to keep them. I read the first book in the series called "A Family Apart" and it was about the children getting adopted by new families and the second part was about Frances Kelly's adventures with her family. This book talks about how Michael Kelly is doing with the Friedrichs. Mike's main concern is that he believes that the Friedrichs are hiding something from him. He thinks this because he overheard a conversation about somebody named Ulrich. Mike's opinion is that Mr. Friedrich killed him. The story is all about Mike's adventure.
I really enjoyed the novel because it's interesting to see what life was like back in that time. So far I have read the books: A Family Apart, Caught In The Act and In The Face Of Danger. I'm going to read the whole series! If you are thinking of buying this book buy A Family Apart first.
MYSTERIOUS SEEKS!...........2003-03-14
Caught in the Act is about a boy, Mike Kelly, who is sent on the Orphan Train but, unfortunately he is left with the Friedrichs. This German family moved to the U.S. to flee from someone or something. This fled turns to turmoil which causes Mike head to spin which might lead to be beaten or be the last victim of three or least he thinks. If you like suspense, mysteries, conflicts, abrupt uproars,or just plain old horror/ questionable murder books you shoulid read this book.
a Caught in the Act review.......2003-03-08
Michael Patrick Kelly, age 11, is one of his five brothers and sisters who are being sent west on an orphan train by their Ma so they can live a better life than they've had working on the streets of New York City. While his brothers and sisters are placed in good homes, Mike finds life difficult with the family he has been adopted into, especially since he had been a pickpocket out of necessity in New York and going west had been his only other choice besides being sent to Tombs Prison. Mr Friedrich, the father, believes that Mike is nothing but trouble and beats him whenever his temper rises. Gunter, the 13 yr. old who hates Mike and would like to see him sent back to NY and Tombs Prison, tries everything he can to get him in trouble. Most of the time, he succeeds, but Mike remains determined and stays with them despite Gunter's efforts. Mrs.Friedrich is a motherly woman who gladly welcomes his placement in their family, and Mike finds a true friend in Reuben, the hired hand, and Marta, who is a housekeeper for the Friedrichs. While Mike is in the wagon on the way to his new home, he overhears a whispered conversation about a man named Ulrich that disappeared. Apparently, Mr.Friedrich thinks that Mike is just like Ulrich and that he should be "taken care of". As the days pass, Mike hears more tidbits of conversation and believes that Mr. Friedrich has killed Ulrich and that he is afraid someone is going to find his out secret. Mike tries to pry more information loose out of Marta, but she only hints that she knows something which does not need concern him. When Reuben disappears after a fight with Mr.Friedrich, Mike can only fear the worst, and later while in the woods he spies a freshly dug patch of dirt. And then on a trip to St. Joseph, Missouri, he openly tells the people at the general store that Reuben is gone and that he suspects Mr.Friedrich of his murder. What will happen next to Mike--Will he find Reuben? And who was Ulrich? Read this 2nd book in the Orphan Train Quartet by Joan Lowery Nixon to find out the happy ending to Mike's story.

Not for a person who loves action, But a good read........2001-08-28
Michael Patrick Kelly, a boy who steals to feed his family, is actually a very good kid. He would shine the customer (or victim's) shoes and then pick their pocket. However, he is caught, and sentenced to five years at Tombs prison- or to be sent west to start a new life. He goes west. And that, my friend, is how everything begins. Everyone of his siblings gets good parents- except him. Hans Friedrich, a rather bulky,er, really bulky man with a temper like a bomb- ready to go off. Gunter Friedrich, a 13 year old who hates Mike and is always trying to get him into trouble. And he does, too. Mrs. Friedrich is a lovely and nice cook. The maid, Marta,is in love with a rowdy boy-who loves her back! And Rueben-the hired hand is Mike's best friend. But when Reuben suddenly disapears, and a freshly dug plot of dirt turns up that day, Mike has a creeping suspicion of Mr.Friedrich, and if he will be next...

Book Description
Litvak demonstrates that private experience in the novels of Austen, Charlotte Brontë, Eliot, and James is a rigorous enactment of a public script that constructs normative gender and class identities. He suggests that the theatricality which pervades these novels enforces social norms while introducing opportunities for novelists to resist them. This approach encourages a rethinking of the genre and its cultural contexts in all their instability and ambivalence.
