Customer Reviews:
Good.......2007-07-01
THe practice tests is what really made this book great. They were a little easier than the real thing, but are helpful. The review is very good, showing that you only need a broad knowledge for the test. If you are taking a regents exam (NY) then this book is helpful because it does not use reference tables, forcing you to actually know the tings you do. They did a good job.
Great for a quick review.......2006-12-28
This book is good to get in September to summarize topics learned in class or to study from in May or June for an SAT II. If you are looking for a book that will OVER prepare you, the consensus is Barrons. I have both and I can tell you that Barrons is thorough where Princeton Review is brief. My friends last year used this book and did very well (think 700+) so it isn't dooming you to fail. I used Princeton Review for biology last year, and I must say it is pretty good at showing you the types of questions and how things are asked. In conclusion, Princeton Review is good for a crammer with two months or less, or as a quick way to get main ideas.
Buy it it rocks!.......2006-09-10
Getting a 700+ on the SAT2 requires more than just a review book, it requires study. This book is a great help if you learn the material, and take the practice tests. You go in feeling prepared and knowing how to manage your time. No magic bullets, just good preparation and practice with this book works miracles. The book doesnt teach you chemistry- it teaches you college board chemistry- all its going to teach you is how to put what your teacher said into SAT format and get the right answers- it works! ( i got a 710 !!!)
SAT Chemistry.......2006-08-05
This book is thorough and detailed. You can go at your pace and go back over anything you don't understand, as many times as you like. It even has techniques to help you learn to associate concepts. I give this book 4 stars because it has really helped me so far, but there's always room for improvement.
NOT too easy.......2006-07-09
I don't know why people are saying the practice tests are too easy - I never got above a 740 on the practice tests, but I got a 770 on the actual test.
Customer Reviews:
Utterly confusing (and I still got an 800).......2006-10-11
This book presents topics in a wierd order or something, because I couldn't understand it. So I gave up on it and only used it for it's practice tests which were easy.
Okay..not great.......2006-07-05
Kaplan is notoriously famous for its mistakes, and here they are again. However, Kaplan does a fair job on summarizing the information concisely. It even has some shortcuts in doing some of the calculations. However, there are many mistakes on the practice tests. After initial comparing of your answers to the books, your heart skips a couple of beats to find that you missed many problems (my experience), but not so! If you actually look at the answer explanations, when the correct answer is C, it would say some other answer although the explanation would clearly lead to that answer C. In a way it may discourage some students knowing that Kaplans is easier than the real test. I recommend this book for some extra tips a dilligent student may need, but not for its practice tests
good review book.......2006-03-21
There are enough information to review the things you have already knew or the things you do not learn yet.
Ok, but not spectacular.......2006-01-18
The notes are short and concise and contain everything you need to know (and perhaps a little extra stuff) for the test. However in my opinion the practice tests were not really like the real thing. There is a lack of questions on laboratory and descriptive chemistry, of which quite a lot of questions come out in the real test. Use this with a chemistry textbook to get best results.
A GREAT book for anyone.......2005-12-18
Even though I'm just up to the second chapter of the Chemistry Review, I'm already enjoying this book very much. I would highly recommend it to anyone (and I doubt you will regret it) to prep for the SAT II Chemistry. It is thorough and concise (as long as you have been paying attention in class, the review is excellent), with no extra useless information (as I found last year when I read Barrons Biology book). Here's from my past experience: Kaplan for biology, chemistry, physics, Barrons for SAT, AP Statistics.

Book Description
Although designed primarily for desktop mapping and analysis, Geographic Information Systems have, for some years, been ‘coupled’ to other ‘allied’ technologies. This coupling or integration has occurred for some time due to the limitations in commercially available systems. It has occurred in several areas including visualisation (virtual reality), simulation (pedestrian, urban modelling), data storage and management (distributed or Internet GIS) and decision support. The chapters of the book, written by an international group of experts examine several of these discrete areas, focussing on the use of GIS and the technology it has been allied to.

Book Description
The primary goal of this book is to explore the physical properties of polymers in confined spaces at the nanometer scale, with a particular emphasis on determining the mechanisms by which polymers are transported through narrow interstices. A variety of pore structures that polymers can penetrate have recently been discovered, and it is now possible to probe the dynamics of the interactions between polymers and the penetrating molecules.
The experimental and theoretical advances discussed include:
- Mechanical properties of single molecules;
- Detection & characterization of single polymers transported through narrow ion channels;
- Direct measurement of the energetics and dynamics of polymer transport through a pore;
- Statistical mechanical theories for single polymer transport through a narrow pore;
- Novel polymer separations techniques not based on cross-linked gels;
- Physics of polymer-protein interactions.£/LIST£ The book also explores potential scientific and technological applications that can exploit these systems, with the aim of stimulating new research in this highly multidisciplinary field.
Book Description
In the first comprehensive biography of William Lowndes Yancey (1814-63), one of the leading secessionists of the Old South, Eric H. Walther examines the personality and political life of the uncompromising fire-eater.
Born in Georgia but raised in the North by a fiercely abolitionist stepfather and an emotionally unstable mother, Yancey grew up believing that abolitionists were cruel, meddling, and hypocritical. His personal journey led him through a series of mentors who transformed his political views, and upon moving to frontier Alabama in his twenties, Yancey's penchant for rhetorical and physical violence was soon channeled into a crusade to protect slaveholders' rights.
Yancey defied Northern Democrats at their national nominating convention in 1860, rending the party and setting the stage for secession after the election of Abraham Lincoln. Selected to introduce Jefferson Davis in Montgomery as the president-elect of the Confederacy, Yancey also served the Confederacy as a diplomat and a senator before his death in 1863, just short of his forty-ninth birthday.
More than a portrait of an influential political figure before and during the Civil War, this study also presents a nuanced look at the roots of Southern honor, violence, and understandings of manhood as they developed in the nineteenth century.
Customer Reviews:
Fine biography.......2007-03-20
I got through this study of a hardline Secessionist in just a few days as it is so very interesting and well put together. There's lots of good American history to read and this certainly deserves to go on lists of excellent up-to-date works.

Book Description
The Vietnam War was the longest war in American history. It was also the most controversial and devisive since the American Civil War. And it was one the United States failed to win. Disturbing questions concerning the use of military force that emerged in the 1960s and early 1970s still haunt policy makers today. This book details the causes of the American involvement in Vietnam, the great events that shook both Vietnam and the United States during the long conflict, and the painful consequences of war.

Book Description
Improved weapons and lethal strategies for destruction made the battles of the Civil War some of the most terrible and momentous events in history. The most significant engagements are explored, along with related topics such as blacks in the military.
Book Description
As the U.S. military waged war against Saddam Hussein in 2003, Americans at home divided their attention between Iraq and other issues that included terrorist threats, a shaky economy, and a presidential campaign. The book explores these issues as well as national debates over flawed intelligence, the validity of pre-emptive wars, and the objectivity of the media.
