Symbiosis is the fourth volume in the series Cellular Origin and Life in Extreme Habitats (COLE). Fifty experts, from over a dozen countries, review their current studies on different approaches to these phenomena. The chapters present various aspects of symbiosis from gene transfer, morphological features, and biodiversity to individual organisms sharing mutual cellular habitats. The origin of the eukaryotic phase is discussed with emphasis on cyanelles, H syntrophy, N ₂ fixation, and S-based symbiosis (as well as the origin of mitochondrion, chloroplast, and nucleus). All members of the three domains of life are presented for sharing symbiotic associations. This volume brings the concept of living together as `One plus One (plus One) equals One.'
The purpose of this book is to introduce the teacher, researcher, scholar, and student as well as the open-minded and science-oriented reader to the global importance of this association.

Our baby started "reading" this in the tub from about 4 months. At 19 months she still loves it. The verse was easily memorized and can get a smile out of her in or out of the tub. The other Baby Einstein bath books are cute, but this one is by far my (and her) favorite.

I am a mama of 8 month old twins, and they love eating this book! On occasion we have been able to get through actually reading it, but for the most part it is in one or both of their mouths by the last page. All in all, I'd say its a hit. Maybe once they get past teething, we can actually read it to them.

I bought this, and other Baby Einstein Bath Books, for my eleven month old twin grandchildren. They love the bright colors and the feel of the material. They never tire of playing with them.

Fun for baby, Big Help for mom.......2006-11-01

We bought this book along with the "Who lives in the pond" 8mos ago, when our baby was 10mos.
She was always trying to stand up and get out of the bathtub.
Now she sits in the tub "reading" her book.
Then the problem was that she never wanted to get out of the tub, so now we keep the other book in the bench where we dry and dress her.
With this books, bath time is now very fun for both of us.

This novel jumbles up a host of characters from the Elizabethan Age in golorious confusion. Shakespeare trying to write his masterpiece 'Love's Labour's Won' and trying to decide how to spell his name, Sir Walter Raleigh desperate to get a new cloak and introduce the Potato at court, Francis Bacon scheming to get his hands on one of Queen Elizabeth's used beds, the Queen herself trying not to make up her mind about anything. Fictional characters mingle with the real ones, particularly Viola, the lady-in-waiting in love with the theatre and wanting to be a player, disguising herself as a boy so she can join Shakespeare's company and then falling in love with him. Sounds familiar? Yes, but Brahms and Simon did it first, and funnier.

Whimsical delight from Shakespeare's London.......2001-05-04

This enchanting little novel, first published in 1941, traces the intertwining adventures of Shakespeare's theater company and Elkizabeth's court, mingling historical figures and charmingly imagined fictions. Shakespeare, intent on his new play, Love's Labors Wonne, can't be bothered to pay attention to the new production of Henry VIII. Sir Francis Bacon dances around the outskirts of the theater, while parsimonious Lord Burghley and ambitious Sir Walter Raleign pursue their own schemes. Dagglebelt the jester tries (unsuccessfully) to juggle pumpkins while Will Kempe discovers with delight the comic possibilities of a pail of whitewash dumped over Richard Burbage's unsuspecting head. To the modern reader there are all sorts of hints of the film, Shakespeare in Love, but this book was written more than fifty years earlier, and has an air of lunatic delight all its own.
